Negative experience: Worst PF in NSW. This was my local when it started up. Staff and members looked after the place. Thankfully I now use the nearby club which still has high standards. After visiting over the weekend as I was in the area, Warrawong is third world. It's dirty, weights are all over the place, when members carry on like donkeys, the staff joke around with them opposed to enforcing PF rules. If your in the Illawarra, head to Oak Flats as Warrawong is a waste of your time.

Negative experience: Watched an old guy use the one pull up machine for 30 minutes for a total of 4 pull ups while a line formed behind him. Meanwhile there are 80 unused treadmills.

Negative experience: A gym with no barbells is like a pool without water. While there are minimal free weights, there is not the equipment needed for actual strength training. Obnoxiously, there are 4-5 smith machines yet no facilities to safely squat, bench press or deadlift. This forces patrons to attempt these lifts on these machines which is both ineffective and dangerous. Or do without, leading to incomplete workouts. While they advertise being beginner friendly, removing access to these movements is not helpful. Beginners can safely lift free weights by starting light, and this is far more beneficial than completely removing access to proper equipment. At least the staff are nice and the cost is low (just be mindful of the $2 extra hidden weekly transaction fee and $50 annual fee). If you're serious about exercise, avoid.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and perks

Negative experience: I joined the PF BLACK CARD membership without a contract. I only visited a few times in the 12 month period. I found the PTs to be lacklustre and was told in a group PT session I was in "if you're not going to be bothered to put in the effort, don't bother coming". I found this extremely disheartening as I was unfit and doing my best. Additionally, they had constant deals which were advertised as always ending very soon, but would always be extended or replaced by better offers. I called to see if I could change my foundation membership to that of a membership that didn't require a yearly annual fee. However, the girl who answered the phone was almost angry that I would even try to enquire about this. She rudely said even if I wanted to cancel they would still charge me for 2 more weeks. I decided to go in person to cancel anyway and was greeted by a short girl with black hair who looked up at me and said "YES?!". I said I wanted to cancel and she asked why? I said because I wasn't able to take advantage of the current deal. She rolled her eyes, typed on the computer then looked up at me and said "Yes?!". There was no attempt to retain me as a member and when I asked about the two week billing she said that wasn't going to happen.

Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a great experience at Planet Fitness. But the biggest shout out has to go to Byron who runs the classes. He’s such a nice guy. Doesn’t matter what your level or age, he makes us all welcome and motivated. He is always thinking of new ways to encourage and have fun while he destroys us We love Byron!

Negative experience: It says no lock in contract but it is. U can't call to cancel it either...

Positive experience: Good gym , but wondering if the staff could arrive at 5am when the spa is ment to open training early I like to use it but when they come in 5.15- 530 it’s hard to seeing I have to leave Appreciate it

Fantastic experience: Perfect gym, spacious, neat and lots of equipments.. with the bonus of massage chairs !

Positive experience: Pretty good for 5 or 10 bucks a week (plus like 75 ish per year fees). However PLEASE PLEASE management can you please sort the tv situation. Last few visits only half the tvs are on, and the audio headphone ‘channels’ on the machines work so rarely you’re lucky to get 1 machine that gets maybe 2 channels of audio. I come to the gym to zone out and walk mindlessly with the telly on after work. If it’s not fixed soon I’ll probably find another gym. Other than that fairly specific complaint it’s good, pretty loud and tinny music so your own headphones are a good bet.

Fantastic experience: What a great gym. Sign up starts at $5 a week. The staff are all lovely and willing to help. They design your programs and really motivate you. There is plenty of equipment and you can use Crowd DJ to listen to your favourite songs while you work out. Classes are mostly from lunch time onwards (4 days) and on the 5th day it's morning classes. Saturday/Sunday there are no classes. Afterwards if you have Black card membership you can access the hydro massage chair or the remedial massage chair. They are both amazing. Membership can be used at any Planet Fitness. Definitely give it a go.

Positive experience: Planet fitness is number 1, but I have a problem with dumbbells because maximum weight is 34kg and not enough, barbell bars alone don't exist for deadlift and something like that..

Negative experience: Writing this here, as no where I could find a feedback form on your website. So basically my issue is - after hours access. Despite me being a member for more than a year, my afterhours access would not work. Finally after finding time during working hours, the front desk tells me that the reason for this is because, one payment from 6 months ago wasn't processed which was actually an error due to a staff member as they changed my membership and forgot to charge. I did not receive a single email or phone call to pay that weeks charges. It's ridiculous that you guys don't even send an invoice or receipt of the payments made. How am I suppose to know that one payment wasn't processed and until I made that, my after hours access would be blocked?

Fantastic experience: Just joined this gym have been three consecutive days, staff are very pleasant plenty of equipment no need to wait on a queue Bathrooms are beautiful and clean. So glad I joined planet Fitness at Warrawong.

Fantastic experience: Some of the best customer service I've had. Staff gave my partner and I a tour the day we signed up, all the staff are incredibly helpful and kind. The facilities are especially clean and up to date. The actual gym floor is very easy to navigate and the areas are sectioned off nicely. The app is really useful, I use it to see how busy the venue is before I go. I also have a busy schedule so 24/7 operating hours is great. The price is super reasonable and the premium option lets you bring a guest during staffed hours which has really benefitted me. Parking can get really full at some hours but there is street parking and mall parking too. Right next to Boost Juice which kind of compliments the facilities haha. Definitely worth trying out, but I'll be sticking to it for good.

Fantastic experience: The Warrawong gym is well stocked. Very affordable subscriptions too

Negative experience: Sent my cancellation forms through in November. After calling and calling. Speaking to the manager multiple times (even though it took me over a month to get in contact with him as he was never in or not available!) I am still getting continuous payments taken out of my account. They assured me this was a mistake and I would be refunded for the money taken since canceling. BUT IM STILL GETTING MONEY TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT! No lock in contract they say but you can’t seem to get out of it!!!

Fantastic experience: Great staff & best gym

Negative experience: No account management facilities besides going in. Cannot put your account on hold remotely. Took my account details on the Web, but cannot cancel or pause your account without going in. Not a relationship that I want to be with anymore. It should not be this difficult to pause or cancel payments. They just want your money after all.

Fantastic experience: Can't fault this wonderful gym - super friendly and helpful staff who keep the gym and bathrooms very clean. Always willing to help! Price is extremely reasonable and there's a large variety of equipment/classes to suit every one. Even during peak times there's always a variety of equipment to use. Love my Planet Fitness!

Negative experience: Terrible communication, I reached out via their website on multiple occasions requesting contact for numerous issues. Was never responded to. They make leaving a chore. The process is weeks long so they can get every extra $$ out of you.

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym. There's equipment for different exercises and they tell you what you need to do. Everything is clean and everyone is really friendly. There's fresh filtered water available, lockers and clean amenities.

Fantastic experience: Great place for beginners

Negative experience: No free weights eliminates the compound exercise movement, gym for beginers and old age people. I personally feel that the 30 min (yellow section) is of no use as the floor covers most of the exercise machines. The gym is pretty clean.

Positive experience: Great gym, plenty of equipment, all quality, would give 5 stars but when machines are broken they tend to take a long tine to get fixed......

Fantastic experience: So glad I joined Plant Fitness. It's a great price, lots of exercise machines and good atmosphere. Very convenient location inside the shopping centre.

Fantastic experience: Great gym no stress great for the beginner and expert alike

Negative experience: The gym is mostly for beginners. Lack of open barbell spaces this eliminates the possibility of compound lifts (bench, deadlift, squat). Instead these accessories are talen by 3 Smith machines which do the job (I guess) but dont allow you to support the wight yourself. Half of the space is catered towards cardio and mostly abdominal centered exercises. For example, there is only one linear leg press, which only has 2 weight pegs instead of the typical 4. This stops the ability to progressively overload. Finally the dumbells as coated in textures hard plastic. I found that this rubs the top of knuckles while curling. On the up side it's clean, cheap and offers flexible plans to make getting to gym easier. Although they are accepting I would love to see more opportunities to improve in compound movements instead of growing false confidence supported by the smith machines. I would look for something a little more diverse for experience gym goers.
