Our comment from FitFit Australia about Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre:

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre is a vibrant community facility located in Hurstville, Australia, offering a wide range of aquatic and leisure activities for all ages. Visitors have praised the center for its excellent swimming lessons and friendly, knowledgeable staff, particularly in the swimming and basketball programs. Many users appreciate the diverse facilities, including a gym, sauna, and a well-maintained children's area, making it an ideal spot for families.

However, several reviews highlight some areas for improvement. A common theme is the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities, with comments about the bathrooms, showers, and pool areas needing more regular attention. Additionally, many users have experienced overcrowding during peak times, particularly on weekends, which can lead to limited access to swimming lanes due to classes monopolizing space.

Despite these concerns, the center remains popular for its engaging staff and community-oriented environment. Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre is noted for its welcoming atmosphere, solid range of activities, and commitment to helping patrons achieve their fitness goals.

Positive Aspects:

  • Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
  • Excellent swimming lessons and programs.
  • Good facilities for families and children.
  • Variety of fitness activities and options available.

Points for Improvement:

  • Cleanliness and maintenance of facilities.
  • Overcrowding during peak times.
  • Better management of lane availability for public swimming.

Positive experience: Friendly staff, professional swimming and basketball trainers. There’s a cafeteria to fill the kids hunger too. Edited review- I have to edit my review however this is unrelated to the basketball and swimming trainers. My son woke up feeling sick at 7.30am before his basketball (8am) and swimming (9am) lesson last Saturday. BlueFit Customer support assisted to make up for the swimming class however i was told for the basketball class it has to be done through Hurstville centre. Tried ringing several times but no answer. I was informed today that that class was forfeited and there was nothing they could do as it was their policy that any class cancellations must be actioned 2 hours before the class. Despite explaining that the class was at 8am, and he woke up at 7.30am feeling unwell, I received no compensation for that lesson. I am aware of the 2 hour policy (and have always adhered to that) however it is disappointing that the policy does not cater for this situation for Swish Basketball lessons (Swimming was recoverable???). The person over the line (Hurstville) was talking to me as if I was trying to scam a lesson out of them. I’m definitely not pleased- it’s a let down for the 5 star trainers who are doing a great job in the frontline, which is why I maintained the rating at 3 star. I would give a zero if I can to administration and reception. Parents please be keep this in mind if you are looking at booking your kids for the first class of the day. If they wake up feeling sick you have no chance to mark them absent- the money will be taken from you for nothing.

Hi Jeremy, thank you for the 5 star review. We're glad to hear you're enjoying swimming and basketball at our facility. We hope to see you again soon !

Positive experience: Despite toilet facilities are not great, poor environment not so great, the floors bit too rough in the warm little poor, and the cover of the filter? On the kids pool ground missing for months without replacement (raised issue to staff but nil progress and can be hazard as sharp edges on the ground) but the hard working and great skilled, patient and caring swimming instructors kept us staying here for our little one, special thank you to Emily and Susan, our little one has learnt so much with all your hard work, highly recommended the great instructors!

Anna Hancock 4 months ago

Negative experience: Beyond disappointed with the experience here, Saturday morning arrived 10.30am, the whole Aquatic Centre are closed for lessons, except for ONE slow lane, ONE walking/gentle exercise only, and the kids pool (not heated) . If you are paying full price $11 , you won't be able swim laps , because there are 4-6 people cramped in one slow lane, and you are not allow to swim in the walking lane (Some older people will made complaints if you do, so as the guards - zero courtesy/ consideration) . I just signed up 20 visits w free 5 visits, I seriously regret it! The purpose of signing up so I can swim laps in the pool as part of my rehab for an injury. I can't see any space for doing this. RE: cleanliness of the water, this has to be the dirtiest pool I have been. Really hope the management will look into the space available for the public and clean the pool frequently. Otherwise, it's a great place to bring kids and swim.

Negative experience: Come on guys the spa has been cold for well over a month now with no date in sight for when it is going to be repaired - “boiler issues” apparently. I feel it’s false advertising to sell memberships that include the spa as a facility and all members should be offered discounted rates until it is repaired

Positive experience: Friend and I called a few times about Project Harmony but have been “put on a spreadsheet” and haven’t heard back. Admin team keeps saying they don’t know anything about it as it’s managed by “the manager”. When I rang this morning the person on the other end didn’t seem like she was even listening to what I was saying or wasn’t concentrating. I had to keep saying “hello? Are you there?” to keep her attention. Not a great customer service experience at all.

Kenj Ess 6 months ago

Negative experience: They usually only have ONE swimming lane for lap swimming. The rest of the lanes are booked by learn to swim classes. Kids always jumping through the single lap lane and nobody says anything. Sauna and steam are okay though but would be coming here if u wanna do lap swimming.

H Y 6 months ago

Negative experience: please fix the turnstile or provide training to staff on how to multitask. people with classes to go to get stuck at entrance for long time. staff accusing us for skipping queue when she scanned people behind us first. respect come both ways, not customer to your staff only.

Negan 6 months ago

Positive experience: Adequate facilities, just a couple of things. - The showers in the men’s changing room. The water pressure is ridiculously low and the sensors barely work. - Speaking of showers I was mid shower when a young lifeguard rudely came in demanding everyone exit the change room due to cleaning. I was still wet and sudsy and had to rush to get changed all whilst he rudely watched me with no privacy whatsoever. I really do not need supervision getting changed thank you especially from a teenage lifeguard .. I was so embarrassed! - Avoid this place if you intend to lap swim on weekday afternoons . They close 8 of the 10 lanes for swim classes forcing everyone to swim in the remaining 2 lanes.. ridiculous! - Please take care getting in and out of the spas. For some reason idiots sit on the only steps getting in and they absolutely will not move. The other day I had to move around them to get in, slipped and fell in causing a small fracture in my right leg.. I’m a reasonably fit and healthy middle aged man so I’d hate to see how an elderly person would’ve fared in the same situation.. Someone will get killed here one day if they don’t police this properly. - Something seems amiss with the pool water.. it is incredibly salty and bitter and does not feel chlorinated. It is also pretty murky and small floaty things were visible as if swimming in a beach pool. I was pretty ill for a few days after swimming here. Otherwise I find the staff and other users to be friendly overall, it is relaxing and with good clean facilities.

Negative experience: The worst pool and management in the Southern suburb. I was swimming with my son today. I am a lifeguard and manage my son on his swimming. But the lifeguard "Will" claimed that we couldn't use the pool if my son's foot couldn't reach the ground. He can swim himself and I was a professional person. But he was using an unprofessional manners to talk to me. However, their pool manager "Matthew" asked me to leave the pool with my son and he said I was rude to their staff and scamming. It was extremely ridiculous. Bluefit management is the worst management in the town, they always over the pool capacity on their lesson and avoid the public use. Their Poor Customer service and management, which are harmful to our society in trouble with sporty life.

Fantastic experience: The admin team and swimming teachers are so good. Dan, Jeffrey and Kerry are amazing with my 2 boys. Attending swimming lessons has giving my children confidence as well as the ability to learn to swim. The kids have progressed well over the 2 years. We have all made many friends along the way. The admin team at the front are extremely helpful in assisting with classes. Kerry is so friendly and makes attending very enjoyable. Thank you everyone from my boys and myself.

Positive experience: Good value (especially with seasonal deals) with access to the pool, gym and classes. Downsides are that it can busy (e.g. after school time), earlier closing times and facilities need some up keep (e.g. broken lockers).

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Alan, thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback and will see what can be done about the upkeep of our facilities. We look forward to seeing you at Hurstville in the future.

Negative experience: I had no swim wear but knowing it was a pool I knew they would have swim wear there so wasn't to worried but for some reason it's $11 for entry but $80 for swim wear, I had to turn away as soon as I saw the price. Saddened

Hi Tamika, we're sorry to hear of your experience at our leisure centre. We appreciate your feedback about the cost of swimwear in our pool and hope to see you back again in the future.

Negative experience: My son is enrolled in swimming lesson here. When enrolled we were told that one adult can take the kid for casual swimming at anytime for free. This afternoon I took my son and my aunty there for swimming - I told the staff that I just dropped them off and not going to stay as I had to go back to work. at beginning there might be some confusion - they thought I was not going to the pool but would go in to watch and so they ask me to pay $2.5 for a 2nd person as spectator. Then after explanation they are all clear that I am going to leave and only my aunty going to the pool with my son. However, the staff insisted that I still have to pay $2.5 for my aunty to go in with my son. I asked why - here is her explanation " I just checked with my new manager for the centre, his name is Jack, there was a new rule about this - if this is not day for swimming lesson for your son then the accompanying adult has to pay a fee of $2.5 to go in to supervise the kid who is enrolled for the swimming lession here. Then I asked when this rule became effective - she told me clearly that it was just from yesterday 29th Feb 2024. I looked at her and could not believe that she could just make up such rule on the spot. so I had to pay $2.5 for my son and my aunty to go in swimming. After that, I waited patiently to talk the new manager Jack as I wanted to know whether this is such a rule which I was going to call the head office to check anyway. After I waited and waited , I told Jack the staff clearly lied about the new rule which is totally unacceptable. Jack denied about staff lying and said there was only confusion and misunderstanding, which is clearly not by the way how the staff explained the new rule to me. for me, this is ridiculous and very disappointed. My two boys have been having swimming lessons here for more than a year. Now I am going to find a new swimming centre for them as the staff there is just unprofessional, not friendly, not helpful and clearly to me - a lier.

Negative experience: We brought girls swimming goggles for $30 and within one hour the goggles falls apart. At the point of purchase there was no receipt provided regardless we asked for one. We when back to the counter and got told we only can do exchange, no refund allowed. We disagreed as they are faulty and we have no confidence in the brand. The duty manager insisted on no refund to their faulty products. So my advice is don't buy anything from them as there no customer service or products warranty. Extremely bad experience from this place. Bad customer service

Jas Jas 8 months ago

Negative experience: This should have been a good leisure place for local, but they need upgrade to match up their high charge, $10 for single entry for swim, that is the most expensive in arounding suburbs, but the worst facilities. Specially the swimming pool, completely wear and tear. The cleaness is a big concern. You can see many floating dirt and visibility in water is poor. It seems they are not filtering the water properly, instead simply trying to kill the gem by using kind of salty chemical. You will have bitter taste in your mouth after swim, like out of the ocean. Shower area is not clean, the shower is too hot without an option for you to adjust water temparature and it runs in very low flow. Girls with long hair, You also need to bring your own hair dryer!!! This place always have promotion that you pay half to get full year membership. However they donnot do refund for any reason, even their lockdown during pandemic peiod.

Negative experience: Will be good if Aquatic centre management can focus on fixing many issues in change shower rooms in male, female and gender neutral one. E.g. shower head missing for 14 days already.

Negative experience: I recently enrolled my son in this swim school with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience fell short. The teacher’s attention was mostly directed at managing a disruptive child, resulting in minimal swim time for my son—only about 3 minutes out of the 30-minute class. When I reached out to the school with my concerns, their response was dismissive, suggesting that I change classes if dissatisfied. Disappointing overall.

Fantastic experience: I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE AQUATIC LEISURE CENTRE, THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE IS THE SAUNA. I like to sit on the top seat but as I have 2 total knee replacements I have trouble stepping onto he lower seat as there is nothing to hang onto, it would be great if there was a small step that could be left under the lower seat and put back after use, I am 84 years of age. Some one could slip and cause an injury as the seat is slippery when wet. It could save the club problems if someone is injured. Thank you John Woodley

Negative experience: This aquatic centre needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. The facilities are outdated, dirty and not maintained. Mould is everywhere, many things are broken, dirty everything and many toilet doors don't lock due to the latches being broken. There's only 1 parent cubicle room near the learn to swim pool to change and shower children, otherwise children are showered and changed in the open so there's no privacy from preying eyes. The kids swim classes are very overcrowded especially during the weekends. The aquatic classes in the main pool where the instructors yell through the speakers are on full blast and it distracts children in the other pool who are trying to learn to swim. The kids swim instructors in the class cannot be heard from all the noise coming from the aqua aerobics classes. Good luck finding parking, expect to park 10mins walk from the centre during the weekend. The 2 slides are permanently closed, the coffee and food at the canteen is awful and overpriced. The only good thing about this centre are the staff who are friendly and helpful.

Positive experience: Would definitely go there for the basketball “Swish” and the soccer training, this itself makes a five star. Firstly the stadium was really big and there were a lot of places to play, the staff in this half ( including the instructors) were also incredibly nice, the teaching were also to the point and very effective ( creates a firm base to approach harder sporting levels). But the swimming section is like a downside to the place, the water being both crowded and dirty ( countless people urinate in the water), there are crumbs of food everywhere, some members of the public use the pool to wash their hands and the staff didn’t seem to care.

Negative experience: I spent 15 dollars to enjoy my time in the pool on Sunday, to be presented with 3 lanes as an option. One to walk only , 2 slow lap swim, 3 fast swim. Life guards were telling people off every time you were doing something wrong. How pathetic having most lanes booked out by children’s swimming groups. On a weekend, so public can’t enjoy it, Waste of money, you could have told me when I called or upon arrival.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Negative experience: Rude staff member. As a long-time client of Hurstville Aquatic Centre with Blue Fit Swimming School, my recent encounter has left me deeply dissatisfied. My 10-year-old son has been attending swimming lessons here for four years. However, during our last visit, a staff member at the reception displayed blatant rudeness. I was charged for my 4-year-old daughter, who is supposed to have free entry as per the center's policy for children under 5. the rudeness is more concerning than the charge. I promptly made a complaint to the duty manager, who assured me the matter would be escalated to the customer service manager. Unfortunately, despite the assurance, I have not received any communication since December 1st. This lack of follow-up raises concerns about the customer service standards at what I believed to be a reputable center. I am disappointed that a facility known for its services has let me down in terms of customer care. The absence of communication and resolution only adds to the frustration. .

Alexander Lim 11 months ago

Negative experience: Three stars were deducted for the following three reasons: 1. There were too many people; they allowed as many people to come in as possible. 2. It was the second time in a month that everyone had to get out of the pool due to contamination. The worst part is they continued to let people come in when the pool was closed. 3. You have to pay extra for the water slide. Additionally, it was closed without any reason in the middle of the day.

Negative experience: They have so called ‘Spector fee’ to let you in, which means if you don’t pay , the kids will swim without parents’ supervision. Will the parents let the kids swim themselves? No, so you have to pay or scan your card twice, which means they charges you double the cost although parent is not swimming . What options the parents have? It’s the most Ridiculous thing ever heard!!!

Sally Bathgate 1 year ago

Negative experience: Management needs to work out the car parking issues when there are lots of classes (swish, strike, flip and swim school). There have been so many times where my kid has missed a significant amount of time on a lesson because there are no spaces on the property OR surrounding streets. We arrive early, but have to wait until the class changeover to get a parking space. Either stagger classes, or allow a gap between finish and start times to allow us our money’s worth.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. We are sorry to hear about your disapointment in lane availability. We understand that sometimes learn to swim programs may take up space. Although our team works really hard to simplify this and ensure that there is still sufficient space for public users. As part of our systems we regularly update the online lane availability on our website. To view this, simply visit https://hurstvilleaquatic.com.au/lane-availability/. Further to this if there seems to be an indifference, please do not hesitate to highlight it with staff who can hopefully rectify your concern.

Hi Maddie, thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback on your experience with the Kids Sports programs. Our programs are structured according to certain age groups (pre-schoolers and school-aged). We would like to reassure you that throughout the program our team of professional instructors do complete regular assessments to ensure all students are given a fair opportunity.

Negative experience: Overcrowded. Filthy. Absolutely filthy. Over chlorinated. 25 minutes to find a car park and even then I had to park illegally. We’ve committed to swimming otherwise I would never set foot in this center. Management clearly doesn’t read all the reviews. Cafe is so poorly run. Waited half an hour for a coffee, the guy said I don’t know how to make a piccolo.

Sham Chow 1 year ago

Negative experience: I completely agree with all the negative reviews left by some people. If a place has a bunch of poor management and highly unprofessional and unfriendly customer service staff, it's quite unexpected to receive good and consistent customer service. Some of the girls are extremely impatient in the way they talk and provide service at the reception. If a manager comes to interfere, they just blindly defend staff without knowing who's at fault. Unlike most swimming centres, they give you makeover classes which you'll always struggle to complete by their tricky deadlines and eventually lose them. To me, it's an unethical business trick to snatch one's money. My job as a Dietitian and Nutritionist, I know how much patience I need to bear when serving a customer, while easily accepting their mistakes. Fantastic experience: I love coming to Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre. It has all of the facilities I need in one place. I come here for swimming, using the gym, swimming lessons for my children and use their creshe for my kids. It's a clean facility with helpful and friendly staff. I'm so glad I signed up to become a member.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Thank you so much for your five-star rating and feedback Genevieve. I'm so glad you're able to use as many of our services as possible so you can get your money's worth! Hope to see you at Hurstville soon. All the best, BlueFit.

Negative experience: Terrible place, in line with a lot of other 1 star reviews recently. The only focus is age of child, not swimming ability or safety. Kids over 3 get sent to preschool classes (classes without parents in the pool) even if they are not ready and not water confident. Kids under 3 who are water confident and ready are kept in the baby class citing "safety concerns". Totally contradictory. If you want your child to progress their swimming abilities, try another swim school. @bluefitswimming is not for you, don't waste your money.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Victor, thank you for your feedback. Our BlueFit Swimming program is carefully designed with a strong focus on water safety along with water confidence. There are a few reasons behind why our infant and preschool program is structured based on the students’ age.One reason is due to the development of children. We are aware that kids all learn differently, however many children learn best when in an environment with peers of similar age. Once children reach school age, there are a few more discrepancies within their swimming abilities. During this stage, BlueFit classes follow a detailed lesson plan and complete regular assessments are conducted to ensure all students are in an appropriate class/level. Our team regularly conducts assessments, more often than not these are done ‘silently’ meaning the student is unaware of the assessment. It sounds like you are unhappy with the level in which your child (or children) were placed. If you would like to email [email protected] with any feedback on your experience, we would love to learn more so we can continue to improve our services.

Positive experience: Indoor swimming facilities, nicely spread out to avoid crowding, with tiered seating alongside to main pool, and some more seating on the far end of the shallow teaching pool. The graded children's pool has the disabled access, an island, and two waterslides that I've never seen in use. Spa baths and saunas are also available, and in the antrim is a cafeteria with table seating. Separate gym and fitness facilities are beyond the glass doors, in the opposite direction. Being a community pool, this is where everyone comes for swimming lessons, lap training, rehabilitation exercises, and aqua aerobics. Parking is at a premium. This centre is very popular, therefore, extremely busy, regardless of the time of day. The metal roofing creates a constant echo of every voice and splash. Cleaning of the changerooms should be constant with the volume of traffic the centre experiences, but this only happens after hours. I witnessed a new staff orientation tour, where the preceptor stated, "Thankfully the grouting it dark, so nobody sees the mould."

Negative experience: They have lost complete control here and the staff do not care. The place is a filthy cesspit. Don't go in the water. Do not eat the food. The place is crammed pack for some reason, surely they can afford a cleaner and a supervisor.

Negative experience: DO NOT go to this pool it’s a complete waste of time if you have young children under 6. As for the slides kids under 6 can’t go on them, parents can’t go on them and if your child is taller then 1.5 they can’t go on them. The staff have no idea what there doing they are poorly trained and we were told 5 different things until we spoke to the manager who was rude. The bathroom were a mess they don’t keep up the cleaning and toilet paper. Oh and not to mention the spa where you get felt up by old man rubbing their feet up your legs, won’t sit up and taking sneaky photos of you. We were there for just under a hour and left. Won’t be going back.

Mohammad Bangla News 1 year ago

Negative experience: This is not a place for family or kids. Most of the staff are not friendly compared to other centres where people are welcomed. Managers just back staff up to defend their staff blindly. They charge you money more than what the fee is and when you ask the girls at the reception for clarification, they are angry. When you speak to one staff member, another one will come and jump and start arguing with you. Just disgusting! Never recommond anyone to come here.

Negative experience: I'm fairly disappointed the way Hurstville aquatic centre works.Basically, water in the area for small bubs is freezing The area where I can change my little one, usually is occupied by parents who have big kids(like 5yo) and they literally put them on the changing mats...but today was best of the best, changing mats were so dirty that I was literally disgusted(hair, food, plastic bags etc). All of above i have reported already few times, with no lack at all.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with recent machine upgrades in gym areas (as of Feb 2023). Very things are brand new. Not 24/7 but it opens till late, very flexible. Recent promotion (700$ for 12 months) makes it the best fitness deal in Hurstville

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Tran, thank you so much for your five-star rating and great feedback! We're stoked with the new upgrades too! All the best for your fitness journey going ahead :-)

Negative experience: Firstly nobody answered the phone for 4 hours. Second, the temp for the Sauna is wrong and just not hot enough. Thirdly the Spas are not working properly and has a bad smell. Lastly, the mens change rooms need to be sanitised. Absolutely filthy. Not returning

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Oz, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have a great experience. We've recently had a few operational issues with the Spa and Sauna which our staff do their best to fix ASAP. I will pass on your feedback about the changing rooms and the phone too. We would love to have you in the future if you change your mind. All the best, BlueFit.

Negative experience: Can definitely relate to the latest review about cleanliness, as a local resident it's pretty disappointing, there was rubbish around the pools and I also saw plasters and roaches in the wooden seats that join the pool when I was over there, dust and dead bugs along the spa windows that clearly have never been cleaned, and the chlorine was burning my eyes I couldn't stop blinking. The plants had rusty bases, and they were also dying, the floors never looked like they have ever been wiped, just take a look yourself! And the cafe is so over priced. For a fitness center they should be selling healthy food instead of chips and nuggets too. First and last time I'll ever be there. Asked for my money back too! The cheek of paying for a service and to be in them conditions! Wow

Negative experience: One Star! Extremely Poor hygiene. Stuff really should take better control of the sauna area. I have seen someone scrape dead skin from their feet using a plastic gym card while in the steam room and I have seen someone cut their nails!!!!. People drink from their water bottles and then poor water on the hot stone using the same water bottle which is not hygienic. I see alot of people who dont pay aswell and sneak in without wristbands. I will not be going back to this place. It seems that the stuff dont care or just can't control the place.

burak üzüm 1 year ago

Negative experience: It is quite hectic in many different ways; 1- so many people but only 3 lanes were open to public so it was chaotic with the slow-medium-fast lanes. 2- people were using foot and hand equipment to make them go faster and one of them smacked my head with it, I don't get how and why they would allow those... 3- Sauna is really not that warm, you would barely sweat in there... 4- the steam room was actually really nice until someone decided to put some menthol liqiud on the steam machine which made it super intense, even tho there are signs for it, nobody enforces the rules at all. 5- you pay extra to be able to enjoy the sauna and steam rooms to get a bracelet but almost everyone who were in there didn't have the bracelets, so paying extra wasn't necessary, made me feel bad for paying extra... Over all, I wouldn't be able say that you will get your moneys worth if you go there.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Burak, thank you for taking the time to provide us with detailed feedback on your experience within our facilities. To assist in lane management we do have an updated page on our website for members to check lane availability. This can be found at https://hurstvilleaquatic.com.au/lane-availability/.To clarify we do allow swimming aids for lap swimmers, they are approved for use in the pool as long as they are swimming in the correct lanes. Should you experience something like this again, we ask that you please report it to management, especially if someone is adding menthols in the spa or sauna or if there are any heating issues in these areas. This will allow our team to follow up these concerns ASAP.

Wasefa Jamaly 1 year ago

Negative experience: For the past few weeks, the open shower area has lacked warm water, which is quite inconvenient, especially with only 6 shower stalls available and one of them out of order. I suggest prioritizing the repair of the water heating system to prevent children from getting sick due to extended wait times in wet clothes before they can shower.

Joannie T 1 year ago

Negative experience: This is feedback for: 1. STRIKE INDOOR SOCCER 2. Bathrooms/shower cleanliness 1. I would not recommend sending any young children to their school holiday camp. Although Strike Indoor Soccer separates the group by age, they didn't really give any attention to young kids aged 6 and below. Nor did they try to engage the younger kids. I saw my kid sat on the bench for more than an hour watching others play. My kid wasn't even encouraged to join the game. When i asked my kid whether he kicked the soccer ball today, he said rarely. That's very disappointing for a parent to hear when they sent their kid there for the one day camp 9am-3pm. Moreover, his lunch bag and personal bag including his water bottle had his up and go spilled over it. Surely, an adult would think to help a youth to clean it up- than wait until the parent comes at 3pm to collect the kid with soggy food, and wet lunch bag and soccer bag. However, I'm giving it more than 1 star because at least the coaches appear to be polite and kind, and I acknowledge that it's not an easy job to look after so many kids- but seriously, don't offer this program to young kids if you're not going to actively and creatively think of ways to engage them. I'm very disappointed with Strike Indoor Soccer. 2. Hurstville Aquatic Center shower facilities need to improve and provide warmer shower facilities for kids to have their shower and get dressed. The floors and walls were slimey. Very unpleasant. Again, giving it more than 1star because at least the staff who greeted us at the entrance were friendly and polite.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Joan,Thank you so much for your feedback. I’m sorry that it was a disappointing experience. I have spoken to our Kids Sports Manager and she has offered either a trial in the program or a free camp day next holiday period, whichever you would prefer. If you would like to redeem this offer, you can contact her directly at [email protected]. I have informed her of your previous experience and she would love to make up to you with this. In regards to the cleanliness of the facility, I have provided feedback to the centre on your behalf. Our centre is cleaned every night however sometimes during the day, it gets very busy. Thank you again for providing us with feedback, I hope you choose to give us another shot! All the best, BlueFit.

Positive experience: I've only been to the basketball court section of the HALC but from my experiences the staff are exemplary, the facilities are solid, courts are clean, decent seating for parents and kids alike, however the bathrooms (basketball courts) are pretty small (1-3 people max). Other than that nothing to complain about.

Fantastic experience: Friendly community gym and leisure centre, welcoming staff who are always helpful. Great range of classes and excellent opening hours catering for those who need to get in and exercise before work, along with those that can only make it in late at night. Wide variety of gym equipment.

Hi Alan, thank you so much for taking the time to give us a five-star rating with such kind words. I'm so glad you enjoy your time at Hurstville and hopefully, we'll see you soon! BlueFit

Negative experience: Swimmers beware! If you want to join an aquatic centre to just swim, go elsewhere. Most days, if you go any time from 3 till closing, they’ll give you ONE lane for all swimmers - from super slow to super fast. The rest are taken up by swim lessons. So they take your money for a membership and then completely disregard you as a paying member. They’ll make up excuses like oh our other centres closed so we had to bring every other swim lesson into this one centre because we couldn’t give up any profits of course! The fact that they can’t be bothered to put soap in showers, hair dryers or even enough rubber mats in change rooms is just icing on the cake. It’s a nice enough facility otherwise and frontline staff are friendly but this Bluefit management company should be kicked out!

R S 1 year ago

Negative experience: They will take your money in advance as a swim member then always have all but one or two lanes of the pool closed so they can make even more money from swim school. They don’t give a damn about paying members. You pay for a service but they don’t provide it. Go somewhere else if you just want to swim. They can’t even bother to have enough rubber mats in the change room. The staff are friendly and nice but clearly the management don’t care about paying members.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Roohbir, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback.

Jin Wan Lee 1 year ago

Negative experience: The centre should keep us the hygiene standard. I pay extra for spa n sauna but the place can be crowded with people who don't pay extra for sauna by looking at no band on their wrist. The Manager doesn't manage this place well compare to Bexley one and they should keep someone to control sauna place from time to time to check if anyone who don't pay for the utility should leave with warning so they won't do it again. Good place but with not good management and poor hygiene.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Jin, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment in hygiene and patronage. Our team would like to reassure you that the facility does have a regular deep clean, along with regular spot cleans. We understand that sometimes things will still get messy due to patron usage, and ask that staff members are made aware of any cleaning concerns to allow the team to work quickly and efficiently to resolve it.Further to this, we can confirm that our team completes regular checks on spa and sauna users but are unfortunately unable to control human behaviours and catch every sneaky person. In future should you have a concern about the facility in any aspect we would love for you to identify the issue to the staff on duty who can follow it up ASAP.

Fantastic experience: Great place to go on very hot day. Plenty of parking off-street, good facilities and staff. Under fives free with paying adult. Nice toddler area, big pool, lap pool and water slides, SpAS and sauna. Good outdoor area for picnic too.

Hi Katrina, thank you for the five-star rating! We really appreciate your support, and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusted with the cleanliness in this place! The girls changing room was FULL of hair, the shower cubicles were slimy, toilets full of tissue and refuse scattered all around, cockroaches on the floor, rusted lockers, used plasters in the grids of the pool areas and crushed cans scattered around the pool area, don’t know how these guys can stay open and charge the prices they do with a straight face! It’s the same price as the premium virgin active for monthly! Outrageous and vile place to come to ‘relax’ spoke to the shift leader who stated it’s not their job to clean, and they don’t have cleaners, absolutely vile. if you do end up going bring some bloody thongs and a load of antibacterial to clean yourself after.. if the chemicals haven’t burnt your skin off from being in the pool for 3 minutes! Definitely made my eyes water. Won’t ever return. Shame on you.

Maria Potapova 1 year ago

Negative experience: Great pool and spa but the administration is very poor. People eat in the pool. Who wants to swim amongst bits of food afterwards? Or in the water where kids were washing their faces and hands from ketchup? The spa is crowded, there are no restrictions on visitors, and many people swim in the hot tub in casual clothes rather than swimming costumes. These include denim shorts, cotton T-shirts, and athletic leggings. The women's locker room is always full of boys under 10 who are brought there by their mums to wash them in the shower. Seriously? Kids that old can't wash themselves in the boys' showers? We can't change because there is only one closed changing room, there are lots of boys around, and the queue for the showers gets even longer.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Maria, thank you for taking the time to provide us with detailed feedback on your experience within our facilities. We would like to reassure you that we passed this information onto management who are working to resolve the issues that you have highlighted. Our team are sorry to hear about your experience. We hope to have these issues resolved shortly.

Negative experience: Very poor service everytime we go there is always something happening staff are not really helpful issue with the payments issue with the card and today they don't have staff so have to cancel my daughter class permanently if knew early shouldn't have joined the class gone somewhere else. Very disappointing

Ben Chan 2 years ago

Negative experience: The staff was friendly, but most of the place had big problems. The pools are not very good for adult completive swimming as there are always slow people in the fast lane and the toilets are very dirty as hair is everywhere.

Stephen K 2 years ago

Negative experience: Very annoying when they don't follow their own lane availability. Makes it very difficult to plan around. Also unbelievable that they dedicate two lanes for walking and child play when they only have two for lap swimmers and the rest occupied by classes. Two lanes for actual swimming is less than ideal for the number of people that use the pool and the premium they charge... Life guards aren't proactive, they don't check the sauna for paying customers with wristbands frequently and they also don't tell off people who just stand in the middle of swimming lanes hogging it and ruining the experience for people who want to actually exercise.

Raymond Zhong 2 years ago

Negative experience: 2022/02/16 night,Female lifeguard told my daughter to get out of the 25m pool when she trying to train her 50m freestyle for last 2 years because she is a kids (she is 10years old with 138cm tall)..I never heard that kids not allowed to swim in the 25m pool ??anyone explain or show me the policy?

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Raymond, thank you for reaching out to us with your feedback. We have implemented a new lane management system for an afternoon where no leisure swimming can occur in the 25m pool. This is to ensure lifeguards can safely supervise the pools. If your daughter isn't swimming laps she will be asked to move to another pool during this time. We hope this assists with your next visit. Thank you

Stephanie Fernandez 2 years ago

Negative experience: Don't bother trying to book a court because even if the staff confirm it over the phone and in writing, you'll arrive to the centre and be told they booked it out to someone else. Our team travelled from all over Sydney to make the bookings only to be turned away. This has happened multiple times so clearly there is no point trying to make another booking.

Ashwina Pratap 2 years ago

Positive experience: The Aquatic centre facilities has been upgraded. Great variety of fitness classes and the staff are professional. My only criticism - when it gets busy on the weekends, more cleaning staff could be rostered on. change rooms can get a bit dirty.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Ashwina, thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you are enjoying our services and our staff make you feel welcome. Please note our facility is professionally cleaned every night, with our staff over-looking throughout the day, if there is anything you notice feel free to let our on-site staff know. Thank you again for your feedback!

Bry H 2 years ago

Negative experience: Its a good place to get activities done like swimming, gym, indoor sports and stuff. However the parking situation is really poor given parents who enrolled kids into Sat classes. The coaches are young'uns who did not have enthusiasm and looked like they are recovering from a big friday night. And there is only 1 cafe, accessible via swim area which is a real hassle.

Teresa Huang 2 years ago

Negative experience: Decide to change to other swimming centre after years with bluefit. Too many drama in a month. Very disappoint. First new enroll for third kid 5 weeks ago and request many times for member card but still not be given until we cancel the enrol.Second, cancel the third one swimming lesson because he don't want to get in the pool and they left him sit there for two lessons and not offer any support/change for future lessons. Then today the staff said i suppose to get charged since 3 years ago because i have third kid( 4yrs old) with me when i sent two big ones for swimming lessons. And again gave incorrect information about makeup lessons. Well, thank you for letting me know join bluefit was wrong decision and we should cancel everything 3 years ago.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Teresa, we apologise about your experience with us. In regards to our make-up lesson policy, this can be found online here: https://bluefitswimming.com.au/class-policies/ if you have any further questions you can also reach out to us at [email protected]. Yes, if a third child wants to come for a swim and they're not enrolled in lessons they will have to pay entry. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected].

Andrew West 2 years ago

Negative experience: Not a nice experience. As of Oct 2022, the water slides and fountains are still turned off “because of Covid”. The change room facilities are very inadequate and dirty (esp the family change rooms). And it’s overcrowded.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Andrew, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, we have not been able to run the slides as we have not had the staff to safely operate them. We have only just managed to cover the pools! The pools take priority over the slides and we must ensure everyone is safe at all times. The outdoor slide is also awaiting maintenance. As for the bathrooms, they are checked and cleaned every hour. They are also professionally chemical cleaned by an external company every night. We encourage customers to approach us if there is ever a maintenance or cleaning issue, we will attend to it straight away but unfortunately, we do not have cleaning staff that are permanently in the bathrooms. Please let me know if you need any other further information.

Kat 2 years ago

Negative experience: Decent pool. But with kids are always most excited about the slides and play area. Unfortunately every time we come here the slides are closed. I’d suggest going to Olympic park or somewhere else if bringing kids. They should also tell you this whist paying. As I would of saved my $50 and gone somewhere different as the pool area gets boring fast.

Richard Krajewski 2 years ago

Positive experience: Aquatic centre itself is quite nice. The group fitness studio was pretty average. They seem to have bought up all the old Fitness First weights. Carpet on the floor looked clean enough, but who can tell. They could substitute in a wood floor and a mirror on the front wall and make the studio look 100% better.

Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre

Hi Richard, thank you for your review. We'd like to learn more about your feedback so we can continue to improve our services. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected] so we can discuss further. Thank you!

Negative experience: One lady has stolen my bottle of water when I went for a coffee. I saw my bottle in her bag and informed duty manager and a lifgard boy. That lady noticed that and went to the changing room to hide the bottle. The duty manager has informed me to call police with an explanation that the bottle is mine property and I have to do it evendoutgh she checked security cameras which conformed my store. They said, sorry we cannot do anything about it. We can give you a form to fill out. I said, this is not my house and obviously you have someone who is stealing from your customers and we know who is it. To call police is the less that you can do. Unbelievable. I would never go to that place anymore. Management is very slow with their actions , they are kids.
