Encore Pilates and Wellness

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Encore Pilates for almost 4 years now and I absolutely Love it there. The whole Team is amazing and Katie has a beautiful Heart. Katie is incredible at Pilates and is kind, gentle and giving. My very first Class with Katie and I walked out of there feeling better then I had in a long time. I Highly recommend Katie and her wonderful Team.

Negative experience: This place does not support the LGBT community, when called out on this they blocked my partner and then me - when I have never interacted with them. They pulled out of supporting a football team for endorsing LGBT, which in this day and age is so pathetic. Absolutely would never go here as clearly it is not a safe place. They are gonna respond with the same BS response they respond to everyone else but they absolutely don't support everyone, you don't get to pick and choose when gay people are okay to you. Reply: Hey Babe! I think it's obvious I really did get under your skin. You had talked to my partner and as my name was in her bio you then blocked me and then her, when I had never talked to you before. Weird behaviour. Have the day you deserve. P.S. these replies are not a good look for your 'business.'

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend this Pilates studio enough! I started with private sessions and moved into group classes. After each class, whether it was a group session or a private lesson, my body felt so balanced and strong. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and really take the time to focus on what your body needs. I’ve had the best Pilates experiences in years here and look forward to every session. Truly a game changer for pilates practice.

Fantastic experience: This could possibly be the best pilates studio in Australia. The professionalism and experience of the staff is the best I have seen. Everyone was warm and welcoming and I felt my particular injury was carefully catered to. When I walk out after my sessions, I feeling lighter and relined. Fantastic experience: So, people are leaving one star reviews due to some LGBTQIA+ issue which has nothing to do with the studio's services. Not surprising these days unfortunately. A drama gets stirred and some group decides to deplatform, socially ostracize, or defund someone. When this happens it really exposes the character of both sides. The attackers in this instance come off as petty, vindicative, and ineffectual. There is no evidence that this business is dangerous to the LGBTQIA+ community. You may not like what the owner says in public, but that is not danger to ones safety. The business in this instance comes off as principled, moderate, and strong. Clearly, this business gives excellent service based off prior reviews to this scandal. I'd highly recommend going to this studio and networking with like minded individuals. All the crazies are now avoiding it. You now may socialize with your peers without fear of social attack. What a great service this owner has provided to his community.

Negative experience: Very disappointing to know that this company does not support the LGBTQIA+ community and is not a safe space. The angle you have chosen to take regarding pride round this past weekend has attempted to dim the light of what should have been a wonderful celebration of love and positivity.

Fantastic experience: The studio is lovely with great equipment. Very welcoming and friendly. The instructors have been skilful and attentive. Groups are a good size, small enough for individual attention and a mix of ages. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The main reason why I gave 5 out if 5 stars is because Mel is a fabulous Pilates instructor. She thinks thoughtfully about her classes and how to help her clients progress. Mel gives clear instructions / cues and is friendly, warm and encouraging. Also the encore environment is divine. I love the feeling when I walk in the door. It is soft and welcoming and I always leave feeling calmer and stronger than when I arrive.

Fantastic experience: I chose to attend pilates at Encore Pilates and Wellbeing as it was close to where I was staying in Darwin on my visit. The instructors are very enjoyable and even provide individual corrections in the group class as they do offer one on one sessions. The studio is very pleasant and calm with some nice items for sale.

Fantastic experience: From the moment you step into the grounds of Sanctuary by the Sea you feel relaxed and tranquil. Katie is a brilliant instructor and I learnt so much from the one day retreat. I will definitely be going back to stay in the gorgeous accommodation for a few days. It is such good value for what you get. My husband and I travel a lot and pay a lot for sub-standard accommodation. Sanctuary by the Sea is a breath of fresh air in every way that is possible -the people, the food, the ambience and the facilities that are available. Well done and thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I had a beautiful day at the retreat! It was well planned, well thought out and definitely value for money. I enjoyed every aspect and can't wait to implement what I learned into my everyday life. I was floating on a cloud the rest of the day and went to bed feeling more relaxed than I have in quite a while! I will be booking another retreat next year once the tickets and dates are released. Thank you for an incredible day! I can't wait to start my regular pilates journey with Encore!

Fantastic experience: I have been attending semi-private sessions for 6 months or so. All the instructors, Katie, Mel and Matt who I have learnt from so far, are all knowledgeable, approachable, thorough, supportive and professional. Every session I attended, I recovered and re-strengthened my body. I found their online booking system convenient and costumer service is reasonable and fair so far.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, personable, cheerful, hands-on staff who actually care about your development and technique and enjoyment. Staff know my name and I haven't been going for very long - it's the best! Excellent, intimate class sizes. I feel better about myself and life when I walk through those doors. Grateful for Encore and each and every instructor (props to Matt who instils top notch positive life vibes into every class , and Rena for precision and attention to detail in such a friendly, caring manner)

Fantastic experience: I have appreciated the encouragement and support of staff at encore. Pilates has really helped me gain stability and strength after my pregnancy and birth 10 months ago. Staff at encore are very friendly and gently correct your movements to start waking up and engaging muscles properly.

Positive experience: I love Encore Pilates. It's the reformer classes that I go to and the girls there are just great. From the moment you walk in to Encore you feel good. The lighting and the aromatherapy smells just relax you. But there is no relaxing in a reformer class! Wow. You use muscles you didn't know you even had! Love this place.

Fantastic experience: Encore Pilates was my first experience with Pilates in 2010/11. I was so inspired that since then I have converted from Personal Trainer to full time Pilates Movement Therapist. I now live in Cairns but have gone back to Encore on occasion to educate myself further as I continue my journey as a Pilates teacher. Darwinites are lucky to have an education hub and quality studio with passionate and experienced instructors at their fingertips. It has been wonderful to watch Encore grow from humble beginnings to a massive and succesful studio!
