BODY BY BRANDO Alexandria offers variety of morning and evening classes 6 days a week, as well as one-on-one personal training throughout the day to really hone in on technique and skill. With university-qualified personal trainers, you will be sure to receive a 5-star treatment no matter what membership option you choose. Both the class workouts and individual programs are versatile, scalable and stimulating (both mentally and physically). Fantastic experience: Honestly, this is the best gym I have ever been to. I started here 9 months ago, a little hesitant commencing CrossFit style workouts, especially with my knees playing up the way they were, but after a few months working on the fundamentals with trainer Enif in 1 on 1 sessions, I was doing the group workouts without knee pain and was enjoying myself; like I would look forward to going to the gym!!! The trainers here really know their stuff, are super approachable, and are involved in every session. The workouts are hard, but very considered and technical. This isn't one of those gyms where you throw yourself around the room for 45 minutes. They also have some easy-to-follow and realistic eating plans to assist with your goals. But what impressed me the most was the community element; I was made to feel welcome by other people in classes from day one. Everyone is friendly and supportive (and not in that creepy cult way) with zero egos, so if you're looking to make some friends, do some pretty hardcore workouts, and improve your fitness and mobility, this is the gym for you.

Fantastic experience: I've been training with Body by Brando Alexandria for about 6 months, having hesitated in the past due to fear that CrossFit would lead me to surefire injury or be full of aggressive bros. Instead, my only regret is not joining years ago! BBB quickly surpassed all my expectations, and I quickly discovered that there was nothing to fear in the hands of these legends. What sets this gym apart is the trainers' exceptional skill in biomechanics and their focus on individualised attention, even in a busy class environment. They take the time to explain the 'how and why' behind each movement, paying close attention to your individual mechanics and ensuring every workout is done safely and with great form - all in a community of genuinely friendly and outgoing people who are focused on improving themselves. Coach Enif in particular was instrumental in coaching me through anxiety I had surrounding my shoulder stability, tailoring a program of exercises which now allows me to perform lifts and achieve results I never would have thought possible before joining BBB. Put simply, BBB Alexandria is absolutely worth checking out, you won't regret it!

Fantastic experience: Only been doing CrossFit for a year here and it’s brills. Feel fitter and stronger than ever. Even started with a rotator cuff injury and they coached me through it and now it’s fine! Classes are small enough with people that you don’t feel you are getting left behind. Dan was fantastic when I had PT with him and I definitely improved my clean. Enif is an absolutely stand out coach, she takes the time with you to make sure you’re form is right, pushes you when you need it and tells you to calm down when you’re over doing it she makes that place what it is, amazing. Also they kindly let me bring my dog which is ace.

Fantastic experience: There was a reason this CrossFit gym had 5.0 stars when I signed up, and there’s absolutely no reason it shouldn’t be 5.0 stars now. Andrew and Esire have created something special here. And they definitely take your fitness to the next level—strength, endurance, cardio... I never felt more like a Spartan warrior / ninja than after my time here!! If you’re keen to be the best version of yourself—physically, and mentally, then this is the place. For my journey I wasn’t aware that coming here would prepare me for an even tougher journey; fighting stage 3 colorectal cancer. I don’t think I could’ve faced it with as much courage and positivity without the training from ChalkUp. Thanks again Andrew and Esire! Still a slow recovery and am looking forward to coming back!

Fantastic experience: I probably should have written this review long before now, because I was hooked right after my first session! I always thought CrossFit was for extremely fit and strong people only and that I wasn’t going to be able to keep up with the class’ rhythm…and I was so wrong! I was warmly welcomed by the amazing community that Chalk up is! Coaches, environment and programming are all fantastic! Couldn’t recommend more.

Fantastic experience: I started out at a CrossFit box just over 3 and a half years ago back in Tasmania, but then I accepted a job offer and moved to Sydney and put it on hold with settling into a new city, work scheduling, a couple of lockdowns. I did some browsing and tried a couple of other CrossFit gyms and 24/7 ones but they just didn't gel with me. But Chalk Up kept appearing basically first every time with every search, so got in contact and lined up at complimentary session back in May 2021 and have been going along regularly for just over a year now. Having classes capped at 12 is great because it means and feels like you're not getting lost or left behind during a workout; feels like you have more of a 1 on 1 session with the coach during a class. They keep track of your progression and go with 13 week block training period which then leads into testing week and you definitely notices the gains when it's testing time! Andrew, Esire and all the coaches really know they're stuff and truly care for you. I won't be going anywhere unless work posts me somewhere, fingers crossed, hope not!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Chalk Up for about 12 months now and never thought that I would become a "Crossfitter". Chalk Up has taught me the foundations of Crossfit and the programming and coaches are dedicated to ensuring quality movements rather than pushing heavy weights (definitely a misconception I had about Crossfit). All movements can be scaled to your level and the programming allows you to see and track progress over the 12 week training block. I love the mix of strength and conditioning classes, Olympic weight lifting and gymnastics. I also love the addition of new conditioning and strength classes Engine and Bulletproof. The classes are capped at 12, but more commonly have 6-10 attendees which means you get 1:1 coaching for the price of a group class! There are no big egos or judgements. A very open and welcoming community. The owners, Andrew and Esire, have created a supportive, fun and open minded community that celebrates each other’s wins and supports each other through the more challenging workouts. Having access to a 24 hour training environment is a game changer and I love being able to go in to work on skills or make up missed workouts. All the equipment is well looked after by members and coaches and the environment is well cared for and cleaned. The gym is also dog friendly which is just an added bonus but good motivation to get there every day.

Fantastic experience: Andrew and the team are fantastic! I was nervous calling a cross fit gym as I’ve only ever done yoga and Pilates before but they invited me for a free session which I loved and became a full member. The membership options are flexible, the coaches and other members make you feel super welcome and I felt like I progressed my physical strength really quickly. Fantastic experience: Like most people who are after better fitness, I have been a member of the mainstream gyms such as Fitness First and F45. Fitness First never worked because I did not have the motivation to go, was not really sure what to do when there and felt frustrated so ended up paying the membership fees and getting very little return on investment. F45 was slightly better, just a few things that I did not like. Too fast, too intense and I hurt myself which I felt frustrated by. Also, if you do not keep up then too bad. With all of this blur of activity, the instructor hardly has time to spend any meaningful time in terms of advising how best to get the most out of it. Everything changed for me when I started going to CrossFit at Chalk Up. I was pretty wary about CrossFit as in my mind it was a cultish place for super fit people to jump around. I was very wrong in my assumption. I attended a drop-in session just to see for myself. That session was incredibly amazing, revealing and left me wanting more. Chalk Up only hosts 12 members during a session (all conveniently managed by an app). The direct benefit of small group training is that everyone benefits form direct coaching in every session. Plus of course you can observe the coach with others and pick up tips for better movement! The floor area is divided into separate spaces which is great for social distancing. The gym is stocked with a big collection of new weights, plates, dumb-bells etc. with more than enough to choose from and enough for everyone. Even though I had just started, I was instructed incredibly well and all the movements, weights and exercises can be scaled down or scaled up, just depending on where you are at on a personal level. I very soon was very engaged, motivated and energised. Soon after that, I could notice results in my body. Very welcome changes...better vitality, more energy, getting stronger. This of course gets a very positive feedback loop going and it was pretty soon that I saw my body change in a positive way! At first I was just using a bamboo stick to go through the movements, then progressed to the 8kg barbell, then the 15kg one, then the 20kg one. Now, I add plates to that barbell and am amazed at the progression. All coached and curated by Andrew and a team of passionate and knowledgeable professionals. There are numerous compelling reasons to try Chal Up. I would very strongly recommend that you try for yourself and do a drop-in session. I guarantee you that it does not matter what your ability is, you will absolutely be hooked from that first session. Once you have that first session done I know that signing up makes sense. I went in with an open heart and open mind and am now a Chalk Up member for life! The sense of camaraderie and community from the other members is unlike anything else I have experienced and all of the above keeps me motivated and going back for more. I have tried a few other CrossFit boxes in Sydney (and even kept up my training by going to a CrossFit box in Noosa when on holiday). Chalk Up is hands down the very best box that I have experienced and I know that your experience will be very much the same!

Fantastic experience: I have been training at chalk up for about 2 months and have really enjoyed it so far. Esire and Andrew are very professional and friendly. They’ve created an open and encouraging atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and accepted. No bro’s club or mirror admirers here. Andrew pays close attention to each members technique and corrects when required, while also challenging you to up your weights when you might not have had the courage to try yourself. They have been excellent with their health and safety precautions during COVID also.

Fantastic experience: I am a Physiotherapist and have tried other Cross fit Gyms but I am most impressed with Chalk Up. Andy (Head Coach) is fantastic. I joined Cross Fit because I have not touched weights in years and wanted to build muscle in a safe and controlled environment where I can get strong and learn the proper techniques without injuring myself. I am very impressed with Andy's knowledge and application of biomechanics and he has the magic ability of knowing what your limits are and how much you can be pushed without causing harm. It feels like having your own personal trainer in this great class environment. I only wish there was a Chalk Up in my local area so I wouldn't have to drive there.

In a short amount of time (5 months) my skills and strength have increased and I am hungry for more. The head coach truly cares for his students and their goals. Fantastic experience: In my opinion, this is the BEST crossfit gym in Sydney out of the 4 that we've tried over the past 2 years. The head coach/owner Andrew takes pride in every aspect of his gym and puts his heart and soul into his training. •The programs are usually done in blocks (8-12 weeks) with a testing week at the end. All of your set working weights are on a spread sheet so you know exactly what to do each session and get the maximum out if your training. Just need to upload your results to Wodify after each session. • The gym has all new equipment which is constantly being added to. All equipment is cleaned after use which is really reassuring to see during COVID. You're allowed to drop the bar here (10kg plates and up) which is a big plus. • Classes contain a maximum of 12 people so the coach actually has time to get around and see everyone each session. You each get your own lane to work in, which is spacious and you don't feel like you're going to bump into someone. There is also a decent sized stretch area so you can Romwod before class. • There is regular social events: brunches, hikes, beach wods, Chalk Up Games, boat parties. 7pm crew are particularly close We have been on average 4-5 times per week since August 2020 and health-wise I can see my body fat dropping, my resting heart rate dropping, my VO2 Max and muscle mass increasing on my Garmin trackers. I feel my technical ability, strength and conditioning have all improved massively, going from barely 20 unbroken double unders to now over 70. Bench press 110 to 125 in 12 weeks and have nearly mastered handstand push ups! Plus many more pleasing results. So happy to be a part of this wonderful box. Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for a bit over a year now and absolutely love it. Coach and Crew are down to earth and are always available to help no matter what age, mobility requirements or level of fitness you are at. Classes are capped to ensure that everyone gets the attention they need. Chalk Up is COVID19 conscious and has adapted the way the classes are held to ensure social distancing and hygiene requirements. There is no egotistical "gym bro" culture here, everyone is here to support each other. We are all fam.

Fantastic experience: I started at Chalk Up a couple months ago initially nervous to change boxes but that soon subsided. I new when I walked in to the box on that first Monday morning I had found my new home. The owners and coaches are professional and knowledgable and really push you to get 100% out of every session. The training methodology with a focus on strength, skill and conditioning is a great balance and the brand new facilities are well looked after and maintained. All in all its a great box with great people and its worth coming in to experience it for yourself.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't recommend this gym enough! High quality coaching, amazing class vibes, and a very supportive community. It doesn't matter where you are in your fitness journey, you are guaranteed to feel comfortable at Chalk Up. I had very little Crossfit experience when I joined, but it didn't matter, I felt welcome from day 1. What I love most about this gym is how much the coaches know about each of their members. They know when to push you (e.g. go heavier or faster) and when to strip it back and focus on technique. They even remember some of my specific numbers and when I've hit a PB! Fantastic experience: Easily the best crossfit gym I've ever trained at. Classes are small, equipment is great and everything is kept very clean and tidy. Training blocks are very structured, so you know exactly what the focus is. Andrew is very knowledgeable and his patience is absolutely legendary! And he will push you when needed - when you set some goals with him, he will make sure you achieve them... Then there's also this amazing atmosphere, very welcoming and friendly. Fantastic experience: This place is amazing, if you want to get fit and healthy it does not matter what your starting point they can adjust the work out for you. I am 49, have lost 30 kilos in a year after not stepping into a gym for 10 years. The classes are small, so its personal but hard work. The best part is the culture, its diverse with a great mix of guys and girls. Everyone celebrates success be it lifting 8 kilos or 80.

Fantastic experience: I found at Chalk Up Crossfit Ethos what other boxes were missing. A great and diverse programming, covering pretty much everything you can think of. Whether you want to improve your gymnastics, weightlifting or conditioning, this is the place to go! Fantastic experience: Awesome place to train, knowledgeable coaches and friendly crew. Been training here about a year and a half now and there’s no denying that I have learnt and progressed much more in that time than years in a conventional gym!

Fantastic experience: Made the switch from gym to chalkup - three months in and the results have been noticeable. Coaches are attentive, great attitudes and encouraging. Highly recommended for all fitness levels.
