Our comment from FitFit Australia about Goodlife Health Clubs Brookfield Place:
Goodlife Health Clubs Brookfield Place is a conveniently located gym in Perth that offers 24-hour access, making it ideal for a variety of schedules. The gym has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with many users praising the exceptional staff and personal trainers who are knowledgeable and supportive. Members appreciate the ample variety of equipment, including cardio machines and free weights, which helps them achieve their fitness goals.
While the gym has a solid selection of facilities and services, several members have expressed concerns regarding equipment maintenance, as well as overcrowding during peak hours. Some users reported issues with cleanliness in the changing areas and showers, and there have also been complaints about the difficulty of canceling memberships and poor communication regarding account management.
Overall, despite some areas for improvement, Goodlife Health Clubs Brookfield Place is recognized as a good place to work out, particularly for those who value a supportive community atmosphere and professional guidance.
Goodlife Health Clubs Brookfield Place: Opinions
Negative experience: I don't recommend this gym for women. The male cleaners come into the women's change rooms unannounced to clean, without prior warning or signage. None of the staff take this issue seriously either. I've heard the cleaners told off by multiple women for this, I've emailed the club about this and have gotten no response, and my partner also complained to the staff member at the desk yesterday at approximately 4pm and was dismissed while the staff member had to hold back laughter. I don't like leaving bad reviews but you've earned this one Goodlife. Lift your game.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're very sorry for your experience and take your concerns seriously. We'll address the issue with our cleaning staff immediately and ensure proper procedures and signage are followed. We apologise for the lack of response to your email and for how your partner's complaint was handled. We've already address this with the team and will work at rectifying the issue ASAP.
Negative experience: My experience with goodlife gyms has been terrible. Expect poorly maintained and/or broken equipment, overcrowded gyms and very poor communication. I was transferred over to the Brookfield Place gym on closure of the Murray Street branch - no communication this was happening. Expect to pay 30 days worth of membership fees before they actually bother to cancel your membership, even if it's a month to month plan. The whole business model is setup to milk and shaft you, and for what you get, you'd be better off with another, cheaper gym. AVOID
Thank you for getting in touch, Joshua. We are disappointed to learn about your unsatisfactory experience and the communication issues you encountered. Rest assured, we will take steps to address your feedback, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Please note that all members are required to provide 30 days' notice upon cancellation of their membership. If you have any additional concerns or would like to discuss further, please feel free to contact us at 1300 393 733 or through our social media channels.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, good place to work our during the week and quieter on the weekends. PTs are friendly and helpful as well.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience! We're glad to hear that our staff's friendliness and assistance have made your workouts enjoyable. We aim to provide a welcoming environment for our members, and we appreciate your feedback. We look forward to continuing to provide you with great service during your visits.
Negative experience: Terrible gym. Over crowded, lacking in equipment, the equipment that is there is broken, misplaced or minimal. Consistently have to wait for machines and equipment and fight to get space/ mat. The showers are dirty and usually leaking. I submitted a lost item query about my AirPods months ago and to this day haven’t gotten back to me. They have recently increased their pricing as the gym condition worsens.
Hello Madison, we're sorry to learn that your overall experience at our club hasn't met your expectations. Firstly, we'd like to explore further the equipment you believe our club needs. Regarding the cleanliness of our facility, we're disappointed to hear about this and will take immediate steps to address it. We're also sorry to hear about your misplaced Airpods. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us via social media to discuss your experience in more detail. Your insights are invaluable to us, and we're eager to make improvements. Thank you for sharing your feedback.
Fantastic experience: Great place. The equipment is fine. The location great. 24 hour access. The staff are outstanding, all friendly and helpful. And can't speak highly enough about the guy I trained with. A fella called Ben Thomas. Hugely encouraging and funny as hell. Complete win.
Hey Paul, we love to hear this! Thanks so much for sharing. We love recognizing the hard work of our team members, so we have passed this feedback on and have also nominated Ben for an award within our internal employee reward & recognition program! All the best with your ongoing training.
Negative experience: I absolutely do not recommend this gym. They make it incredibly difficult to cancel a membership and a notice period is totally unacceptable for something that can be easily cancelled. I had asked the front desk to cancel and it didn't happen. Do not give your bank details. Also, a lot of equipment is poor quality, the gym is WARM, access is generally difficult (app doesn't work). I have never had a gym experience this bad (or any experience for any service). Hard avoid or you'll regret it.
Negative experience: Just like many other people, I used to go to the flagship Murray Street club before its random closure (although closing a flagship club when a brand new university campus with 10,000 students is about to open in a few months doesn’t really make sense business wise, but that’s another story). Brookfield place is a massive downgrade: not enough equipment (I had never seen people queuing to use a bench or a squat rack before) , terrible aircon, no sauna, water fountains that dispense lukewarm water… but the most irritating thing with this club is how tiny the change rooms are. They are way too small for the amount of members the club has and do not have enough lockers. Worse, a lot of members do assign themselves lockers that they selfishly lock after their training and therefore permanently keep to themselves by convenience. I have emailed the club about 3 weeks ago to tell them that this situation which is not only unacceptable but also totally against their own policy which states that lockers aren’t to be used as overnight storage. I never got an answer. They just don’t care. The only reason I am still with Goodlife is because of my amazing PT Brian, otherwise I would have left when Murray St closed. I’ve been to Goodlife in other states and it was a real eye opener. You pay the same price for your membership in Perth, but you don’t even get 1/3 of what other clubs on the East coast have. If my PT ever leaves, I’ll be cancelling my membership right away. I definitely do not recommend the Brookfield Place club to anyone at this stage.
Negative experience: I have been a founding member for 20+ years Murray Street Goodlife Club. Excellent service on the whole whilst a member at Goodlife Murray Street Perth. Murray Street Goodlife Club closed and membership transferred to Goodlife Brookfield Place Perth. Contacted Goodlife Brookfield Place regarding membeship issue on the 2nd February 2024. Receptionist stated that my issue would be brought to the attention of the Club Manager. and would be resolved immediately. That the Club Manager would contact me and inform me of the outcome. To date despite sending emails to Goodlife Health Club and attempting to telephone and speak to a person I have yet to receive a response from the club. Yet the Goodlife Brookfield Place Club, without my authorisation, has deducted an amount from my credit account. Personally, Goodlife Brookfield Place Club should at least have the professional courtesy to follow through and respond to my initial enquiry and as they indicated resolve my issue. Due to the non action from Goodlife Brookfield Place Club I physical went to the Goodlife Kingsway Club , explained the situation and requested my membership be transferred to Goodlife Kingsway Club. The Goodlife Kingsway Club were very helpful, professional in their endeavours to resolve my membership issue. However on the 21st February Brookfield Club, without my authorisation deducted an from my credit account. If you are considering taking out a membership with Goodlife Brookfield Place Club, carefully consider all your options before making a decision.
Positive experience: Great location very close to work. Staff friendly. All the weights and equipment you need. Biggest pain point: Many trainers are not very respectful and occupy or “reserve” more than one piece of equipment at a time for their clients. This is especially frustrating during peak times (the gym is small) and prevents others from using the machines and/or feel comfortable sharing.
Negative experience: Ever since the other GoodLife gym in Perth closed down suddenly, gym is always crowded. I'm paying money to show up and not be able to do what I want to do. Even though the gym is now packed due to this decision by them I can't get a waiver or discount to terminate my contract. PTs are friendly though.
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym where your goals are taken seriously. Personal Training sessions are the best with Sergio who is King of saying “two more” “two more” great energy with the team there.
Negative experience: I have been them with them close to a year, contract and terms & conditions are NEVER EXPLAINED for member while joining, while joining a verbal statement is told easy peesy … no extras, easy cancellation blah blah!! Every month they charge extra 9.99 apart from weekly charges and they don’t have any explanation for this, I called up to cancel the membership and they would charge me a month until it is cancelled! The team should be trained in explaining the new member about terms and conditions, extra charges! It is really unfair to be quite while taking membership and charging as you wish once membership is activated. Terrible
Negative experience: I was a member of Murray Street Club, which closed abruptly without any prior notice except for a vague email amid spam. They transferred my account to Brookfield Place without my approval. The new gym is subpar, with fewer amenities, crowded conditions, and less equipment. Realizing I could cancel due to a decline in service quality, I attempted to cancel on December 20th, but they insisted on a 30-day notice period – a fair policy if at least the conditions from the original club remained unchanged, something that was way far from reality. Unfortunately, the issue persists as I've been charged for 42 days instead of the 30-day notice period. Despite emailing them more than once days before the last payment, they evaded my question. After visiting the club three times seeking a refund, they offered only a one-week refund, falling short on the 12 days they overcharged me. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and mentioned they still owed me 5 more days, they ignored my concerns. Their approach to membership cancellation and refunds seems designed to make everything as difficult as possible. This is particularly frustrating as I've been a loyal member for 5 years. Bottom line: Questionable customer service, limited equipment, space, and amenities – my 5-year loyalty warns: AVOID JOINING THIS GYM.
Negative experience: Tidak bagus!
Negative experience: Poor service, super disappointed with the attitude shown towards customers. Can't even suspend a membership even though I was told I could when I signed up.
Negative experience: Very unpleasant experience with Goodlife here. Write email and message several times but never get feedback.
Negative experience: Complete disappointed. The gym is too small and there are not enough machines in relation to the number of people training. They close the branch in Murray St and everybody had to go to Brookfield.
Negative experience: Mid gym unfortunately always super warm inside no aircon or fans around. Equipment old and and broken, doesn't get fixed often, and not enough machines for the amount of people that go there since Murray st goodlife closed
Negative experience: Never joining this place again. My wife and I had a baby so I requested to suspend membership. First they said, I can. Then they said they couldn’t. So ultimately had to cancel it after 30 day notice. Paying for 4 weeks which I could not use. No refund for that either. No communication whatsoever !!
Negative experience: Terrible customer service when it comes to communication and contracts, as well as payments. The gym itself is ok. There are limited classes & group fitness area is small. I have read some of the other reviews and turns out a number of people have had similar if not worse experiences compared to me with regards to their account… If a club is suffering so much they can hold a sausage sizzle to raise funds instead of taking from customers…
Fantastic experience: Great staff warm friendly
Negative experience: Cancelling service is a difficult as they can make it.
Fantastic experience: Great facility! Staff are so so friendly couldn’t ask for a more welcoming gym.
Positive experience: Ideal gym especially with the 24 hour opening time, however it lacks the sauna and steam room that you can get in other goodlifes.
Positive experience: Negatives: Very busy during peak hours and not enough squat racks. Positives: Good range of cardio machines and staff are friendly.
Negative experience: Firstly the gym itself is fine and has ample equipment to get the job done. Plenty of squat racks and even new air bikes. I really enjoyed working out at the gym however the management has some work to do. I visited the gym on January 21 to sign up for a free 5 day trial. Obviously the sales staff wanted to get me to sign up on the day. I informed her of my situation where I fly overseas to work for several months at a time and that signing up to an annual membership was probably not going to work out for me. This is when I was informed that the Brookfield Center accommodates for FIFO employees and allows them to put the membership on hold as well as the discounted rate (I was told the discounted weekly fee was a new years special). I thought this sounded great but best to email the Center and have this confirmed in writing to avoid any contractual problems in regards to this arrangement in the future - since the draft paper work had said otherwise. I had received the reply in writing (email) that my membership can be paused for as many times as I liked. Upon receiving this email, I signed up to the gym as everything appeared in order. After 11 months of pausing my account on and off without question from various staff members, it suddenly became a problem and I was informed I could not pause it again. They claim this was a mistake by one individual who has since being fired, even though multiple staff had paused my account before. I figured fair enough then, I'll close my membership, however I was then informed I needed to pay a $195 cancellation fee since I did not have my account active for the full 12 month term. I requested that my fee is waived due to the fault of the sales person however I was told no multiple times and pretty much blamed for the error. It seems the Center manager put all this on one individual that has since left the company and appeared to wash her hands of any responsibility, passing it off to me the misinformed and coerced customer. It didn't seem right to be charged a cancellation fee for something that was entirely a Goodlife employees mistake or straight out dishonest sales tactic. In the end I waited until my calendar anniversary date which was 12 months from sign up and they closed my account without a fee. Lucky for me they could not work out how long I had paused my account. So just be aware the contracts are very difficult to move around even if you have evidence in writing.
Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! I used to work at Goodlife once upon a time but it didn’t matter. This gym has literally swindled a thousand dollars from my bank account. I’ve tried to cancel several times, calling, going into venue and always told we are sorry we will cancel it now for you. Then most recently I went into cancel for the 4th time in 5 months and was told because I was on holiday and missed my terms by a few days they can’t cancel me unless I pay 1/4 of what my membership is worth or just charge me for another 6 months. They do not care about your fitness, the customer service or helping you achieve your goals. They just want to take ur money, and once they have it they won’t stop easily. So now I have resorted to blocking the direct debit with my Bank.
Negative experience: Guys when you going to cancel your membership PLEASE be sure that you will receive an email from the GYM. I went there two months ago and receptionists told me that my membership is cancel - and guess what, it wasn't. I went there today and manager told me there is no evidence about that so he can only help me cancel my membership now and then charge me one month again. Just like that. It's not my job teaching staff how do their job and I'll pay 0 even more you owe me money now guys.
Positive experience: Good variety of equipment, aircon not too cold, modern equipment and decor, very clean, it looks small but it doesn’t feel small somehow, I do go on weekends though haha
Hi, thank you for sharing your positive experience! Looking forward to seeing you next time
Negative experience: After a year of paying membership and not once setting foot in the gym (entirely my fault) there's a 30-day notice period before they'll stop charging me, despite having recieved free money from me for such a long period of time, and me not having any intention of setting foot in the gym at any point in the future, pretty poor effort that you can't just cancel, pay the week you owe and be done with it.
Negative experience: Highly unresponsive reception regarding termination. Easy to enroll tough to end membership. It took turn 3 weeks to respond to me even though I did multiple follow ups.
Fantastic experience: Lovely Modern Club, Just Needs Relaxation Area
Positive experience: Great place to workout. Ample space and good studio. Got all the necessary equipments needed to get those fitness goals completed. Staffs are friendly too.
Positive experience: The small group classes are excellent and about all I participate in at the gym. Trainers are always on time and positive. Male changing room could do with a bit of maintenance (broken lockers, old bench seat, showers cleaned more regularly)
Positive experience: Small in size and less sports equipments to exercise. The ventilation is very bad specially after hours. A general problem is the kubo fitness access that’s not addressed since a couple of months now.
Positive experience: Good variety of equipment, aircon not too cold, modern equipment and decor, very clean, it looks small but it doesn’t feel small somehow, I do go on weekends though haha
Fantastic experience: Great gym to use lunch time's. Love the group training sessions with their amazing instructor's. Always make you work hard ....with a smile!
Hello Maryna, thank you; we appreciate your feedback! Keep kicking goals and we will see you next time.
Fantastic experience: A great corporate gym. Staff are nice. Facilities are clean and kept tidy.

Negative experience: Do not recommend getting a membership here at all.
Positive experience: Very clean and full of instruments amazing gym
Fantastic experience: Good facilities Staff are excellent Would recomend
Hi Dazza, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Goodlife Health Clubs Brookfield Place! Looking forward to seeing you next time.
Fantastic experience: Brian Adlam is a legendary trainer. Taught me banded kb swings!!
Fantastic experience: Modern and good vibes. Receptionist are very friendly and always smile to the customers
Fantastic experience: Great gym
Negative experience: not safe, met quiet a few crazy people there
Positive experience: Gym is a bit run down. Staff are OK but I would not use most of the personal trainers because I have seen their coaching and frankly it was not right. A personal trainer should be in top physical condition and provide inspiration. The women personal trainers are such people but the men not so much. They need new and modern equipment. The whole place needs a make over
Fantastic experience: This has been my day to day gym for 8 years...used to be fitness first, now goodlife ..and the flexibility of using any of their gyms and 24hr opening is just fantastic!! highly recommend this gym in Perth.
Fantastic experience: Great group fitness instructor.
Fantastic experience: Great gym, friendly staff, really have zero complaints
Fantastic experience: Huge gym. Great facilities. Imagine it gets busy because of location. Was quiet when I visited over Xmas.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym in the middle of the city
Fantastic experience: A lot of clubs at conveniently located places.easy to reach and equipments in excellent condition.
Negative experience: Tried to do the 5 day free trial to test the gym. Very poor experience in terms of management. After sitting down for 15min and going through the introduction on their surface pro I thought that was the 5 day pass activated. Silly me. Paul advised that it required a 30 min consultation, which they were going to do after my class but I had to get back to work. When I queried what this would have involved, he said- basically to sign you up on a membership programme! Tell me, who is going to sign up after trialling 2 days out of the 5 days of the gym?? Apparently it is limited to 4 classes -they did not tell me this nor is it in their terms and conditions. After going through the pricing, the manager Paul actually questioned when that happened, and was corrected by his staff that it did happen.Completely unapologetic. Small gym, packed during lunch times, classes are very limited (2 classes 30min or 45mins during lunch times, 1 class at 645am and 1class at around 6pm), and also very crowded with poor ventilation- along with the rest of the gym, and it just feels and smells especially unhygienic . Just smells like body odour through and through. The equipment was crammed in and very close to each other -not a lot of wiggle room!I wouldn’t go to this gym even if it was free. Such poor communication and really pushing you to sign up after 2 days. Can barely breath in there! Packed like sardines. I would personally not recommend this gym.
Fantastic experience: A lot of clubs at conveniently located places.easy to reach and equipments in excellent condition.
Fantastic experience: Nice gym in the middle of the city
Positive experience: Mostly a good gym, they need to fix equipment quicker though. There are things out of order for months sometimes, whilst treadmill #44 will be fixed the day it breaks. Frustrating when they only just replaced the bench that was broken when I joined a year ago. All equipment is good, they have most things you'll want. Finding matching sets of dumbbells under 10kgs is a mission, but that's most gyms. There are enough Olympic plates that you won't run out unless some douche is using all the 10's in the gym. Very, very busy during lunch rush and Monday after work. Quiet the rest of the time.
Positive experience: Not maintained very well , not enough weights for the amount of people
Positive experience: Good 30mins session on classes but the gym is quite small
Positive experience: The classes are average however the gym area is good
Negative experience: Im just a scummy visitor and potential LT customer. Towels arent incl and I didnt buy one so i was frowned at..
Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, great equipment and classes. Super friendly and helpful staff and trainers!
Fantastic experience: Great place to train , recommended Ben Romano for your PT he will make you work hard till you die
Fantastic experience: I love going into the Brookfield Place Goodlife! The staff are so friendly and the Personal Trainers are so knowledgeable! (definitely some of the best i have seen!) The other members all motivate each other and are more then happy to help each other out! I highly recommend that you check out Goodlife Brookfield Place! You won't be disappointed!
Fantastic experience: Goodlife Brookfield Place is one of my favourite gyms! Small, steady pace, clean modern equipment and amazing trainers and fitness experts! The vibe and culture is something that draws you in and makes you feel at ease!
Positive experience: Its great
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, not over crowded and good flow of equipment
Fantastic experience: Such a welcoming place with lovely staff and trainers that have a great level of knowledge in the fitness industry. Definitely recommend
Fantastic experience: Great location and friendly staff. The place is small but has all the necessary equipment. The only downside is that it can get really busy at peak hours
Positive experience: Good gym for the city
Positive experience: Small but sufficient. Lots of free weights and machines where one moves weights on and off. Not many machines where weights are adjusted with a pin. Class area extremely small and not many classes available. Staff is friendly and helpful. Some trainers tend to hog machines while chatting with their clients (I personally wouldn't pay for that...). Biggest complaint is the temperature - it gets quite warm, which results in more smelly bodies around. But it's in a convenient location and has convenient hours.
Positive experience: Small gym but in a good location. Changing rooms are pretty small and showers are not the cleanest. Weights are often left all over the place, even by some of the trainers. Receptionist are super friendly.
Positive experience: Friendly and welcoming reception area. Gym is modern and clean. Could use another Power Rack, Leg Press and Eze Curl bar. Most trainers are friendly. Can get annoying when they're not training anyone and train themselves hogging vital equipment.
Positive experience: Small gym. Not many weights machine but lots of cardio and free weights. Not many classes (especially morning). Small stretch area. Often not tidy first thing in the morning. Clean. Excellent receptionist. Closed weekends.
