Fantastic experience: I joined Virgin Active for the convenience of it being close to work and having amazing facilities. I stayed for so long because my PT Jordie was fantastic and became a close friend. Jordie taught me not just exercises to help me achieve my goals but educated me in an holistic approach to my body, my performance and my mental health! Couldn’t recommend more highly!
Fantastic experience: Solid gym with excellent vibes and great modern equipment. It's got just about everything, you will be impressed trust me. The staff are always welcoming, but a huge shoutout to my PT, Katy! She is a game changer! Ask for her if you want a supportive, knowledgeable trainer who will push you just the right amount. Highly recommend training with her if you want real results.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend this gym and my trainer Jordie enough. I came in after two injuries, lacking confidence and having gained weight during recovery. My trainer helped me rebuild not just my body, but my belief in what I could do again. His approach is motivating, science-based, and very personalised. Every session feels purposeful, safe, and challenging in the right way. He’s also a fantastic workout partner, supportive, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your progress. The gym is well equipped and keeps things fresh with creative workouts, which makes showing up easy. This place has genuinely changed how I feel about fitness !!
Fantastic experience: I've been going to this gym for a while and I've kept going because the facilities are top notch and always really clean, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and there's an awesome variety of classes to choose from. I also train with Jordie, who is super knowledgeable, adaptable, and makes every session delightful. He's helped me get back into the gym after an injury ️ His boxing classes are very enjoyable too, always high‑energy and technique‑focused with great tunes If you’re looking for a PT who's motivating and will help you reach your goals, Jordie is the one.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, but special shout out to awesome trainer Jordie who helped get me back into running after a knee injury!
Fantastic experience: I started my gym journey much later in life but my pt Katy told me it’s never too late to start. I could not get up off the floor with out someone helping me and now after using the gym with Katy’s guidance I am able to get myself up off the floor by myself. I feel much stronger and fitter, it has made everyday tasks easier like getting up the stairs, carrying shopping and being able to keep hold my dogs lead when he sees another dog and pulls. Katy listen to all of my concerns about the gym and gently encouraged me and motivated me to try new machines and to start increasing the weights. She is gentle but firm in her approach and we always have fun and laugh. I never loved going to the gym by myself but I love training with Katy, she has made me feel confident and empowered and it’s given me a lot more independence. I highly recommend her as your pt
Fantastic experience: Great gym with excellent facilities. Pool, spa and sauna are very useful and the gym floor has ample equipment. My personal trainer Jordie understands my needs and adapts his training style. Very satisfied and would recommend. Only negative is the gym membership is not cheap.
Fantastic experience: Virgin active Collins is a fantastic gym that offers 2 spacious floors for individuals to workout with well maintained machines and equipment or group classes from Pilates and yoga to body pump, cycling, boxing, Zumba, run club and grid training. Anything you want exists in this place including multiple facilities for wellness such as sauna, jacuzzi, cold bath, and swimming pool. There is a recovery area for stretching and slower pace routine if you so prefer. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming while Personal Trainers are knowledgeable and teach awesome classes. I had my sessions with Josh, he’s well spoken and motivating, he teach strength training, calisthenics, and boxing. I visit this gym so often it feels like my second home, the showers are fully stocked with soap , shampoo and conditioners while the change room is equipped with Dyson hair dryer and GHD straightener. You can also get one on one PT for swimming with Jackson. Have I mentioned the wall climbing? Yeah, I tried that too. Another big plus is the sparkling and still water, so refreshing! The new reward program, it is so rewarding, basically the more consistent visit you made, they reward you with protein drink or bar. Wow!

Positive experience: An ideal gym for corporate girlie. Well kept facilities with a diverse list of classes you can take (we're talking from pilates to boxing and run club). Staffs are friendly, smiley (it stresses my introvert self when people smile at me but I'm getting used to it) and always readily available. Katy, my PT, is very flexible and helpful. I regret asking her to push me harder sometimes. I love that I can always be myself here and is always welcomed!

Fantastic experience: Jordie is hands down the best gym trainer I’ve worked with. He trains both me and my partner, and every session is genuinely fun while still pushing us to get stronger and fitter. I’ve noticed such a big improvement in my strength, fitness, and overall confidence. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about the body and muscles, and his guidance both in training and with nutritional advice has been spot on. You can tell he really knows his craft. On top of that, he’s kind, supportive, and makes the gym feel like a welcoming place. Virgin Active itself is an amazing gym: clean, well‑equipped, and full of great facilities. The front desk team is always friendly and helpful too. Highly recommend Jordie and the whole Virgin Active experience.
Fantastic experience: Virgin Active Collins St is a top-tier gym with seriously impressive facilities and equipment. I train there regularly and also work with Jordie for PT — he’s outstanding. Positive experience: At 2-3x the cost of a conventional gym chain, I was keen to try out Virgin Active as they kindly offer free trials. Staff at the front were friendly, attentive and showed me around the facilities well. The gym and equipment are great, spacious and clean offering many areas to train or do various classes. Floor was rather busy although manageable at peak time (5-7). What detracts from the club in my opinion is the 'bubble' pool and sauna area. During my visit, this was very busy which at times made things uncomfortable and unrelaxed. There needs to be an emphasis on sauna etiquette, e.g. refrain from speaking loudly or lying down on the benches when others are trying to sit or relax. Furthermore, I spotted multiple individuals dripping in sweat head straight into the singular cold plunge which was disgusting and dissuaded me from using it. In saying this, during my visit the 25M pool was closed which may have resulted in more numbers in the other areas. Overall, I'm unsure of the value at $35-60 a week for this one Collins Street location, however if you work or live nearby it may suit.

Negative experience: Wished the gym would stay open until the end of its opening hours however the gym sometimes decides to close early and therefore not allowing people like me to get a workout/cardio session in. The gym’s app either needs an update or the gym needs to not be closed early.

Negative experience: Total scammers. I signed up on the 2nd of September and initially loved the club, but none of the policies were properly explained when I joined. I clearly told the staff that I’d be freezing my membership during the 6-week free trial, and they never informed me that the freeze period would still be counted within those free trial weeks. Even worse, while they included my 2-week freeze in the “free” period, they still charged me separate freeze fees — $8.43 + $8.47 — during the free trial, which makes absolutely no sense. I was also overcharged by $16.08, and no one could explain why. I’ve been asking for my membership to be cancelled for days, but they keep ignoring my messages — and now they’re saying the notice period has already passed. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a scam. Be very careful and check your bank transactions, because they might already have taken more from you than you realise.

Positive experience: Recht großes Studio. Gute Geräte Auswahl sowie Zustand. Auf 2 Stockwerke gibt es genug Auswahl. Zudem gibt es eine Kletterwand, einen Pool und eine Sauna. Umkleidebereich ist groß. Duschen sind toll und haben auch Shampoo, Duschgel und Conditioner. Einziger Minuspunkt ist für mich der Preis. Man bezahlt halt Recht viel für dieses gute Studio.

Fantastic experience: 클라이밍 보고 하루만 접수해서 받았는데 이벤트 중인가봄 첫날 하루는 공짜라고 함. 솔직히 클라이밍 오랜만이고 사진보고 기대하고 갔지만 클라이밍의 시설은 좀 크게 볼게 없음. 근데 내 체력이 개씹늙땅멍멍이 되어버려서 오르내리는것을 즐길 자신이 있다면 클라이밍도 추천. 그리고 다양한 운동거리도 있어서 하루종일 운동하며 질리지 않을것이 예상됨. 진짜 하루종일 날잡고 운동햐보고싶운곳. 마지막으로. 클라이밍 안전기구는 과학=침대다.

Fantastic experience: My partner and I just moved to Melbourne and visited Virgin Fitness for a free trial. We were helped by two lovely ladies around 9am. We didn’t catch their names, but they were honestly amazing. Super friendly, patient, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. The reception girl got us set up for a tour, and the sales rep who showed us around was incredible. Really thorough, kind, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Negative experience: Great gym, equipment and facilities but unfortunately management may not be the most competent, and some staff can be rude. A few obvious issues that have been there for years like a smelly men’s staircase, very problematic and often very gross looking 1 person ice bath. Collins street makes me really miss the bourke street gym, bring it back!

Just to clarify a few points: the men’s staircase was completely replaced around 12 months ago and is cleaned daily by our team. We’ll follow up to make sure standards remain where they should be.
Regarding the plunge, you’re right - it had a few teething issues early on, but it’s been running reliably for several months now. We do close it twice a week for deep cleaning to keep it safe, clear, and hygienic for everyone. We’re also receiving an upgraded unit within the next week to further improve the experience.
We definitely miss Bourke Street too, but we’re proud of what Collins Street has become and we’re confident our team and facilities are stronger than ever. Negative experience: Some staff are very pleasant, but others are rude and complicit in sly management practices. - refusal to honour referral bonus. - untimely follow-up to membership cancellation. The old Bourke St gym was much better and far less crowded.

Positive experience: Quality equipment, love the multi levelled gym if one spots too busy, pool and sauna is great after a session. Have been coming here for about 6 months now, now while a lot of staff are very friendly and helpful I did have an unfortunate experience with somebody at the front desk this morning - now while I understand they were trying to explain I needed to use the QR code on the app as opposed to the membership card on my Apple wallet they were rude, dismissive and talked over the top of me. In saying this the manager on duty at the time Brittany was incredibly helpful

Negative experience: I fractured my foot and provided a medical certificate stating I could not train for 3 months. I requested to cancel my membership due to this medical condition. A staff member informed me that I needed to provide my bank card details to complete the cancellation — which I did. However, four weeks after my cancellation, I was charged $350! I haven’t used the gym at all during this period, so why am I being charged? I’ve sent multiple emails with no response, and I’ve had to spend hours on the phone explaining the situation to different managers — over and over again. And yesterday they charge me for $70 , guys is that legal just still money from my bank account ?!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member at Virgin Active for over 7 years now, and I honestly love it. The facilities are always clean, well-maintained, and have everything I need for my workouts. What really makes the difference, though, is the staff, they are all absolutely amazing. Always friendly, supportive, and professional. Negative experience: Gym was amazing really wanted to join, however I left my active wear in the locker room and called the gym straightaway. No effort was made to find it even when I informed them of the exact locker that it was in. The active wear in discussion was quiet expensive and pretty new so I tried to chase it with them a couple of times but the staff did not make an effort to find it. I understand you are responsible of your belongings but sometimes things get left behind and in this case I told them exactly where I left it and it was never found for some reason. Either that or some other member stole it, regardless wouldnt want to go back where my belongings could be stolen so easily.

Positive experience: Casual visit occasionally as I live in rural Victoria. Some very nice staff and some rude. Pros - nice spa, clean gym. Cons - selfie sticks and tripods seem to be getting popular. Gym should ban them. Need another step up machine.
Negative experience: My blood boils everytime I'm here thinking about how quickly this place is deteriorating, despite the prices being hiked up all the time! Whether it's the men's facilities my husband uses, or the ladies which I use, the level of cleanliness and function is despicable. Towels/rubbish frequently left lying around, tampons/hair and even FAECES in the shower stalls, the shower toiletries are often empty or replaced with water, and there's literally a stain on 2 different shower doors I've been monitoring for 18 months and it's STILL THERE. Shower stalls are often closed for no reason for weeks on end, and locker keypads are always broken. The gymfloor is no different, with poor hygiene and poorly maintained equipment rampant. Every single week something is broken or shut down. I also avoid the wet facilities at all costs now -the one time I visited the sauna was unbelievably rank with body odour and the smell of mould, a staff member was hosing down the area outside and splashed me as I walked by, AND there was pubic hair everywhere in the plunge pool. My husband tells me that they have staff walking around with fishnets to fish things out. It's so bad you wouldn't believe it unless you saw all this. And if you thought customer service could make up for it you're wrong. Staff are rude, disinterested, can't be bothered making life easier for its members or clean up a simple mess even if they walk right past it. If they're using equipment/facilities on their off days they will literally hog facilities with their friends and be rude to you, despite the fact that even without a uniform on they should still be polite and represent the club. While ON duty they're often hanging around gossiping or complaining about their bosses and colleagues doing absolutely nothing. NOBODY wants to hear this, even if we can all agree this place is poorly managed. Do it in your own private space, and have some respect for the paying club members who want some peace and quiet. There's literally no point directly complaining because staff will roll their eyes or give some delightful excuse about how they're upgrading the place, but not address the simple things like making sure the facilities are functional and clean. We moved from London to Sydney, then to Melbourne where we first used the Bourke St club and were forced to move to the Collins St club when Bourke St abruptly closed without notice. The Collins St club is by far the worst, and deteriorating rapidly. Not sure if management has changed recently but it needs a total upheaval. There's a pale pudgy middle-aged man who struts around barking orders who I presume is the manager, but I can see why with this sort of arrogant leadership morale and performance is so low.

Fantastic experience: I saw reviews that service quality is not good but I did not experience it myself. We do have to wait initially because trainer is busy which is understandable but there is NO other issue I faced. Staff was very friendly and understanding. I went there 2 months ago. Even one staff member greeted me at a coffee shop asking me about my experience there.

Negative experience: Echo many of the other negative comments… facilities aren’t bad (not worth the fee like) there seems to be way to many staff standing around doing very little and when you have the unfortunate experience of having to interact with a them, they are rude…

Negative experience: It used to be a great gym with amazing staff but the service has been getting worse and worse to the stage myself and two other members who joined because of me have now all canceled. After Bourke Street branch closed it's always too busy, and the price of the membership is insane unless you utilise all the classes. God forbid you leave a weight plate in the wrong place by accident, you’ll be chased down by staff and scolded like a naughty child to go and place it back. You also can’t dead lift or squat in racks with no shoes on unless you are a female it seems, I was directed to put my shoes on for my own safety but the nice lady directly next to me was able to do her whole session without shoes, even walking across the gym floor at one stage barefoot, females must be immune to health and safety concerns . It’s also normal to see men use the jacuzzi/pool/sauna in their underwear/boxer shorts now swimwear and right after a gym session not having even showered with no staff interested in stopping this, but at least we are kept safe by having to wear shoes while squatting, phew! You'll be paying a premium price for a subpar gym and staff full of attitude.

Positive experience: The gym is really nice but the hours of operation is far too short, the ice bath is non-functional for 3 weeks per month and the showers certainly need a clean - it’s very mouldy everywhere in the showers and a serious health hazard. Half the lockers also don’t work. Considering it charges such a hefty amount for membership fees per fortnight - you should expect top class facilities. The gym holds a lot of promise but needs to deliver on them. Just needs a bit of work on all fronts. But Amberley the Pilates instructor is the best! So all is forgiven just for her class.

Fantastic experience: 1 week since I walked in just to check out the location. I wasnt intending on joining but I ended up signing up. Max took me through the membership options (twice) and showed me the benefits of joining with AIA so it was a no brainer. Everything was better than expected and the staff are exceptional. Negative experience: Really disappointed in this gym. You’re paying $110 a fortnight and the staff can be quite rude. I’ve been denied access to classes for being 3 minutes late. I understand it’s technically late, but some of us have a busy life outside of the gym and make an effort to get here as quickly as possible. Anything more than 5 minutes late is understandable, but considering it’s apart of the membership and the classes aren’t full- it just feels like a waste of money. I would not recommend this gym if you’re interested in classes. You also get penalised if you can’t attend a class.
We can understand it's disappointing to not make the class that you're excited to attend, but for the experience and safety for all of our members, once the class starts members are unable to join in late. Not to worry, with over 110 classes per week, there's usually another class or program that we can jump into.

Negative experience: As a business operating in the hospitality and service industry, Virgin Active should prioritize professional and respectful customer interactions. Unfortunately, my recent experience with a staff member named Ariana at the Collins Street gym was extremely disappointing. When I contacted the gym to resolve a membership payment issue, Ariana displayed unprofessional and rude behavior, including yelling at me for no reason and abruptly hanging up the phone while I was still speaking. This type of customer service is completely unacceptable and left me extremely frustrated and disappointed with Virgin Active. Experiences like this really explain why Virgin Active Bourke Street permanently closed, and it wouldn't surprise me if the Collins Street location—the only remaining gym in Victoria—faces the same fate soon.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member of Virgin Active for ten years now, which probably says a lot in itself. It’s a great gym with top-notch facilities, well-maintained equipment, and a wide variety of classes—whether you’re into high-intensity workouts like Grid and spin or prefer something more low-key like yoga or pilates . The swimming pool, sauna, and ice bath are also a huge plus, especially for recovery. For me, the highlights have been the gym floor, the pool, Grid classes, and personal training with Scott. Grid is always well-structured and challenging, with trainers who know how to push you without making it overwhelming. Scott, who now manages the gym, has played a big role in my fitness journey. He’s been my personal trainer on and off for years, and he’s always kept me accountable and helped me progress. What really sets this gym apart is that he, like his colleagues, genuinely care. When I had to take a break for serious illness, Scott would check in on me and even arranged to pause my membership fees without me having to ask. That kind of support made a big difference in my recovery. It’s the small stuff that counts, and they do it well. Another thing I’ve always appreciated is the lounge area with free internet. During the tumult of starting my business, it was a space I’d use to get some work done before or after training and I always felt welcomed and never rushed. After a decade here, I can safely say Virgin Active has been worth it. If you’re looking for a well-equipped gym with a strong community and trainers who actually care, it’s hard to beat.

Fantastic experience: Probably the best gym I’ve ever been to! Facilities are excellent. Was visiting from overseas and the team here were absolutely top class; including sorting entry via my overseas Virgin membership.
Positive experience: Decent gym but given the weekly fee, a few things could improve to make it better value. Cleanliness being the main one and quality of some equipment (reformer beds and spin bikes). Last few times at Pilates, I found the floor under my bed wasn’t clean so was inhaling dust as we faced down during exercises where the bed pushed away. I noticed also that some club members leave tissue etc at the machines (please clean up after yourselves). Spin bikes are hit and miss, some of the adjustments change while in use (probably loose over time). Used to enjoy Yoga but now with so many mats squished into one room, you’re less than half a meter away from the next person (and their foot)… not a fan. Instructors are good.
Fantastic experience: You get what you pay for
Positive experience: Joined just before Bourke St closed... Collins St is a good looking gym. Much cleaner than St Kilda Baths. The pool, which I thought I was going ro spend the rest of my life doing endless laps is sadly too cold to enjoy especially if you have any musculoskeletal injuries.or learning to swim. Being an Aussie level swimmer, I usually wont swim inside as you get too hot. The freezing water seizes we up in a few laps, even after boiling yourself in the sauna. So I have to swim and pay elsewhere. It has become very expensive and it was already to start with. Do not take your phone into the pool or spa area thinking you can answer a quick important call or listen to a book. Some staff are Perfectly normal but some militant ones have really offended people and obviously ruined their day. It is very upsetting to see grown adults being treated so rudely when nobody has complained or cares. This is not a social gym. Everyone just keeps to themselves. Being allowed to listen to a book in the spa would be great, especially for those of us who are not neurotypical. Having to see people treated in such a manner makes me very anxious to come there as it really upsets me.
Negative experience: Lack of humanity. Was super excited to take my friend to the new fancy gym I signed up to. Arrived early. Reception told me to show him around but they didn’t tell me how strict classes are with time of entry. Didn’t realize we arrived at the door of the reformer Pilates studio 1 min and 10 seconds late. Got refused entry despite explaining we are both new. They are so strict on entry but cancelled my Friday morning boxing class 10 minutes before it started. Thanks
Negative experience: Don’t use your gym mailing list to advertise your alcoholic products part of Virgin wine. Gym members should not be receiving that kind of tone-deaf advertising. We invest heavily in our health and wellbeing. Some basic target audience analysis would have made this obvious to the marketing team.
Negative experience: They increase their prices regularly with nothing in return. The club has gone down hill and the prices are crazy.
Positive experience: Love this gym but super curious when the rock climbing wall comes back. It’s the reason I chose this gym and I miss getting up there! I am worried it will no longer be serviced. Would love to know here is possible. Other than that - great gym.

Negative experience: Worst gym experience in Melbourne from a lady named Gabby. 'karen' by true definition. A gym should be a fun and happy and welcoming environment, not in this instance
Positive experience: Great gym. The only thing that is a drawback is it closes so early. If they just opened one hour later it would be far more accessible. Eventually might need to find a gym that’s open later to accommodate busy lifestyle
Positive experience: A good gym overall. Facilities are nice (one of the only gyms with a good sauna/spa area), lots of classes, decent range of equipment, and a pleasant enough space that you’re actually happy enough to keep going back. My main issue with this gym are the hours. Peak times are busy, as is to be expected (particularly after closing the Bourke Street branch), so I try and avoid these as you’re likely to be waiting for equipment or a spot in the sauna. Going after the evening peak means that I’m rushing my gym time to try and make it to the sauna/spa that they close half an hour prior to the gym itself. But even then it’s usually packed as everyone else is also rushing to use these spaces before they shut them down. They could easily push closing time out by one hour (which would be great) and I’m sure it’ll still be busy. Weekend closing times are a bit of a joke with opening hours meaning it’s impossible to head to the gym in the mornings, late afternoons, or evenings. Other issues are of course the price which is very steep, particularly considering the short opening hours where you can get your value for money. I’ve also experienced issues with cleanliness in the changing rooms - dirty floors, messy toilets, mouldy showers, bugs stuck to the ceiling, and even a cockroach. They also desperately need to replace or at least repair and oil the sauna seating - it’s rickety, sweat-stained, and smelly (most people don’t follow the ‘towels under bums’ rule). A cold plunge pool would also be ideal, which was something the Bourke Street branch had over Collins Street.

Additionally, we are reviewing our club opening hours and our pool and spa now remains open up until 15 minutes prior to closure. This ensures everyone can still get into the showers before we close, and our team into the sauna to give it a good scrub. We have our internal and external cleaning teams in the change rooms each day and night, but we'll continue to improve our standards to change your 3 star experience to 5 stars. Fantastic experience: I always have an exceptional time at Virgin Active, but I must highlight the incredible customer service provided by Gabi. From the moment I walk in, Gabi goes above and beyond to ensure I feel welcome and comfortable. Her generosity and willingness to assist with every request truly stands out! Working in customer service, you inevitably encounter some negative, sad and unhappy people, but Gabi shines through it all with grace and positivity, which is such a testament to your team! Fantastic experience: Best gym I have been in Melbourne
Fantastic experience: This place is awesome. Very friendly staff. Great equipment, course and facilities.
Positive experience: The gym is great—spacious and with lots of equipment. The pool area is pretty big, with a spa, sauna—they have it all—for a bit more $$$ than most other gyms around.
Negative experience: Love the gym but had a bad experience with the sound bath. Two people were snoring in the class, one on the left and another on the right. Talked to the instructor and she said you just had to deal with it. This is a sound bath, not a snoring bath. Like other studios, you should expressly prohibit people from snoring or have assistant coming in to gently squeeze people's ankle to help them wake up so they do not disturb the other participants.
Positive experience: Virgin closed the Bourke Street gym and asked current members to move to the club on Collins street...however the times for the weekend are different as it starts later....no information was provided of this change as well...this time is not suitable for those who have work on weekends....clearly service is dropping as well as the communication process Many thanks for your reply Scott. I reiterate there was no communication that the hours of operation are different compared to Bourke street. Your response has sidestepped of varying the opening hours on the weekend. As Virgin Collins Street is the only club in Melbourne city now it would be appreciated that some serious thought be given to move the opening time forward by 1 hour to 8am on weekends. Sydney has a number of Virgin clubs and some with early starts on the weekend.

Additionally, since the Bourke Street closure, we have added more classes and are adding more equipment to Collins Street to accommodate our new members. Negative experience: As a customer, I expect honesty and transparency from any service provider, especially when it comes to my hard-earned money. However, Virgin Active seems to think they can just help themselves to my funds without so much as a courtesy heads-up. This experience has left me feeling cheated and disrespected as a customer. It's appalling that a company of such stature would stoop to such low customer service standards.I strongly advise others to think twice before engaging with Virgin Active unless they want to risk falling victim to their unethical business practices.

Fantastic experience: Excellent gym. If you are interested in personal training, I highly recommend Jacinto Cambron. He's experienced, flexible, patient and full of knowledge. Big shout out to Jordan as well. Strength, conditioning and weight is miles better in 12 months.

Fantastic experience: I loved this gym so much! Best gym in Melbourne by a mile. Unfortunately I was only able to visit for a couple days because I live in Perth but wow. The staff is amazing and the classes are the best ones I’ve ever attended. Shoutout to the person who showed me around and took their time knowing I’m only staying in Melbourne for a week.

Negative experience: The membership suspension policy really deserves a review. A masterclass in daylight robbery. It's 2024, this is the most expensive gym in the country, and STILL, this is how it works: • Membership can't be paused for less than a fortnight. • If pausing, the paused days MUST begin and end on their fortnightly direct debit dates. • Must confirm intent to pause at least 5 days in advance of a direct debit window. • If you somehow jump through all those hoops, the admin cost = $7.50 per week. None of this makes sense or belongs in the 21st century. When a local single-staffed yoga studio can outclass your payment system, that says a lot doesn't it? Since the Bourke Street branch closed, this gym is already turning into an overcrowded mosh pit. And this refusal to modernize a prehistoric payment system is a clear indicator of where priorities lie. Do better.

Negative experience: I liked the gym's space and equipment, but had a bad experience with my contract. I signed for a 12-month discount, but they raised prices in April without warning. They blamed me for not reading the fine print. With one branch closing, they are pushing everyone to use the other although they were reducing their service , but wouldn't let me cancel without a 300$ cancellation fee. Lesson learned to read contracts carefully.

Positive experience: Probably the best gym in Melbourne in terms of equipment, facilities, and interior design. The female receptionist who works during the morning / early afternoon shift on weekdays is very friendly and helpful too. ( And so is Gio the personal trainer, even though I am not his client) My main concern is the gym getting very crowded during the evening peak hour ( 5pm to 7pm). On certain weekdays during lunchtime, it can get pretty busy too. I really wish the Bourke St branch was still open. (And I still miss that branch very much)

Fantastic experience: Adrian the duty manager and coach at Collins St Virgin Active really knows his stuff!! He helped me improve my agility and push ups. He's always happy to help everyone with equipment and have a chat. Adrian called me, as the duty manager, to discuss the survey I filled in and he was professional and lovely. Positive experience: The staff are great, gym equipment are OK. The business is designed to prioritise profit over customer satisfaction. Super quick to chargeyour account, super slow to put your membership payment on hold like when you are goingon a trip or something. So, you'd better call them well in advance if you need to put a hold on your membership/payments.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a client over the past 7 years and I’ve been so motivated and happy. The best gym in town for sure. Fantastic experience: This gym is awesome! I spent 4 hours here enjoying all the facilities!! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Which if you are new to gym it is a massive thing!! Alanah was so helpful in showing me around and explaining everything to me which was awesome the staff are different to what most gyms usually have. Thus making the experience that much more enjoyable.
