On return for the christmas break I was welcomed by the new owner and he was very helpful and even accomodating to my situation, only being back for 3 weeks. Excited to see what they can do with it.

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with so much equipment, there is something for everyone’s needs there. Was happy to see that they had boxing bags as that is a rarity in gyms. They have clean lockers, vending machines, water fountain and changing rooms. The owner is very friendly and accommodating and the gym’s atmosphere feels very supportive. Such an epic place to workout.

Fantastic experience: Ben's Army has recently changed owners. They've built on what was already great (the atmosphere) and made lots of other improvements- so far, all the cardio machines have been serviced or replaced, the bathrooms and change rooms have been upgraded and gym cleanliness has risen. I hear there are lots more changes to come and honestly feel this gym is great for everyone, whether you're a powerlifter, strongman, other athlete or the average person looking to improve on strength or fitness.

Fantastic experience: Ben's is the best gym for range of equipment (Powerlifting, Strongman, CrossFit, Bodybuilding.) in Ballarat by far, the fees are cheap and Ben and Staff are always willing to sort out any issues if you contact them. Even during peak times I have never had an issue getting equipment to myself. Happy to be a part of the gym for a little over a year now since moving back from Melbourne and can appreciate the difference between the experience had at Melbourne gyms vs Ben's.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Ben's Army for over 2 years now and it's been one of the best gym experiences I've ever had. Extremely affordable and Ben has been very supportive to his community during the pandemic. The staff are kind and friendly, and the community within the gym is very encouraging as a whole. The equipment is awesome; heaps of different machines to target specific accessories, and great equipment for powerlifting and strongman. Plenty of space in the place as well, so it never feels too crowded. I've felt a true transformation in myself both physically and mentally since coming to this gym. I'm proud to be a member of Ben's Army.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best gym in Ballarat, tonnes of equipment (literally) and such a versatile range of machines and weights. The power lifting equipment is brilliant and there is plenty of space for the gym to not feel too crowded. The staff are super friendly, and the community in the gym is wholesome and encouraging. You can even play your own music on the gyms speakers.

Negative experience: If yous aren't gonna refund everyone's money, reckon you should not charge for a month to make it up. Bad look right now mate.

Negative experience: Has continued taking out membership fees throughout every lockdown this year, pretty sure that's not even legal. Find a gym that doesn't take your money when they're closed, like any other gym except this one.

Fantastic experience: I've been at the gym for 2 years now and it has done wonders for my health. The gym is big, well resourced and good community. I haven't used a personal trainer but I know they are willing to help and assist where needed. Great if you want to get stronger. Like Ox.

Fantastic experience: I started at Ben’s Army a few years ago for short term goals and have been there ever since it has a great atmosphere and even better trainers couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Negative experience: In my experience, this is the dodgiest gym I’ve ever signed up to. The owner still owes $530 and sent an email saying he would only give the refund if I signed a “non-disclosure“ because I left a negative review on Google Maps (after being ignored for 2 weeks). If you’re thinking about joining a gym, try somewhere else. However, the personal trainer that I had was great and I recommend him, Riley. I deleted my original review so I could post this one and also because the owner had left a very aggressive and misleading comment which included my life plans for next year which I didn’t want public.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym, Ben's Army has an excellent range of equipment, the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and friendly and staff are professional and motivating, under the guidance and support of the trainers I have been able to reach my goals.

Fantastic experience: Ben's Army is an amazing place to get fit. I've been to a lot of gyms over the years and nowhere cares more about looking after members than Ben's. They have an enormous range of equipment, friendly staff and an excellent mix of strength and cardio programs. There's a lot to like, but one of my favourite things is the way they always make sure you learn the correct techniques. The trainers also get to know you as a friend and not just a client, so they always know what you are capable of and how best to motivate you. Ben's is a down to earth gym that is just right for men and women of all ages. I even take my daughter to workout and she addicted to fitness now. You know your at the best gym when most of the clients have been there for years!!! Dave Penman

Fantastic experience: I've been a proud member of bens army for over three years! I love it! The atmosphere is great, every client is motivating and easy to talk to. The trainers are easy to approach and always happy to help. It's like walking into my second home when I arrive. I have trained with Ben for just over a year now and have achieved a lot of personal bests in weight assisted exercises as well as gained a large amount of self confidence. If you are looking for a gym to feel comfortable in, bring the kids and make physical gains, then I cannot reccomend bens army enough!
