Fantastic experience: Great gym, friendly staff and amazing supplements store.

Negative experience: For one of the most expensive gym in Ballarat it has no heating in winter & only fans that don't work in summer. Tin roof leaks into floor buckets Equipment is cheap Chinese knockoffs that are anatomically incorrect & constantly in need of repair Toilets are perennially blocked for days. Gym is unclean. No hygiene wipes provided Lack of professionalism & high turnover of staff/trainers seems to reflect a poor management/owner

Negative experience: I went hear today to get some supplements and there was no one to be seen we were there for atleast 30mins looking at stuff trying to find the right stuff then we waited at the counter for another 10mins atleast, even looking out the back in both gyms and no one was around to serve us even tryed calling the number and it was disconnected, not even a bell to ring at the counter. so many people could have been in n out and taken so much stuff

Fantastic experience: Been at Spartans for 4 months now. When I joined I was severely depressed and unmotivated. But the gym has helped me overcome my mental health issues and has given me discipline and something to look forward to everyday. Best gym in Ballarat, in terms of equipment, the community and even the sups store. Love Spartans.

Fantastic experience: I go here to use the Evolt body scan machine. The guy's are very helpful and friendly. I will be coming another day and use the exercise equipment for the first time

Negative experience: if I could give 0 stars I would. the gym itself is fine, just wasn’t for me. However, the staff and manager/s are the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Purely disgusting. I joined with Spartans in 2020, and joined another gym in May 2022. After multiple attempts at calling to cancel my membership, not one phone call was ever answered. Eventually I forgot about it until December 2023, when I received a call asking if I wanted to cancel as I hadn’t been there. I agreed and attempted to cancel. The manager then told me I had to pay a $60 fee to be able to cancel (which it does not state anywhere in their contract). For a month now I have been going back and forth via email with them (when they respond - which I very rare), in search of an answer as to why this payment is due. Each response from spartans has been passive aggressive, rude, and simply not handled very professionally at all. Not to mention I still have not received a clear answer. Spartans threatened to take the matter to debt collectors, and the apparent amount that is due is very inconsistent (i.e one email I received from them stated the amount was $145, and 10 minutes later another email stated $189.) I also discovered that they have willingly taken over $400 out of my account in $140-$170 increments without doing anything they state in their contract - “Spartans Gym & Supplements will communicate any matter relating to the direct debit request via SMS, email, phone or mail”. I was not made aware of this withdrawal at all. Safe to say, I would NOT recommend this gym to even my worst enemies. Don’t even bother wasting your time or money.

Negative experience: Would strongly advise you DO NOT sign up a membership at Spartans, There are better gyms in Ballarat go there. This is the first time I have ever left a 1 star review but the service I received was devestating. When I signed up the lady agreed with me as I am a student that I can pause my memberships over the school term and pay during the holidays to use the gym. I was very grateful for the offer and signed up a membership. This was not fulfilled during the term however and was forced to pay a $i15 pausing fee every time I paused. IUpon the last time I went to pause my mebership, I called 6 times to pause and was repeatably put to voicemail and unable to leave a message as there was no room left in the mailbox. This same ignoring happened to my friend who also tried to pause his membership. 6 calls is utterly unreasonable but regardless I was finally attended to and was told that I would have to pay a $5 a week pausing fee or cancel my membership by paying a 4 week fine for not giving notice. I understand the notice is common amongst gyms, but me paying for your lack of service is purely rude. $60 down the drain. If you want to go to a good gym, don’t go here. Go elsewhere. Club lime, jets.

Negative experience: Unhygienic, not recommended at all.

Negative experience: I visited Spartans gym last week in Ballarat and was worst customer service I have ever seen and they don’t know about the diet plans and very rude .

Positive experience: I was at Spartans for about 3 years, including Covid times. A good gym with nice people. The gym itself while adequate is small now in comparison to others, but it was rarely crowded which was good. However I left because I feel the membership was overpriced and when enquiring about a possible "is this the best you can do" there was no budging.

Negative experience: Good gym up until poor covid related management.

Spartans also sells high quality products as I buy all my Supplements from there and has never failed me!! Definitely worth your time and money!!

Tay is my coach and has helped me so much when it comes to personal growth and my knowledge around health and well-being. I couldn’t imagine a better PT or gym. Fantastic experience: This gym is excellent. I was only in Ballarat for a 2 week holiday. I was looking for somewhere to train briefly without being drawn into a length contract but also somewhere well equipped. The staff were very welcoming and although their shortest use membership is supposed to be a 4 week when I explained I was only in town for 2 weeks they offered to cut the payments short by 2 weeks for me. The gym itself was well equipped and maintained and the atmosphere and other members are respectful. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Fantastic experience: Love this place, my favorite place to go Monday- Friday. Really great selection of equipment, something for everyone's needs. Plenty of room for your own space to do your personal workout. There's also a good balance of men and women which I like, and it makes for a comfortable atmosphere. They have personal trainers too if that's your thing, or go it alone and do your own thing. But they're there if you have any questions. It's casual and relaxed, that's why I like it, and why it's easy to go back every day. I'm super happy choosing Spartans gym

COVID Reno’s have changed the place making it a more clinical experience. With plenty of new equipment. True testament to Pat and the Team for their dedication to the fitness community. Fantastic experience: I have been working out at Spartans since January this year and have to say it’s the best Gym I have been to. Great friendly staff that are willing to help and give great advice. They also have the best equipment. Great work on the renovations, the place looks awesome!

Fantastic experience: You guys are absolute legends I’ve been up in Ballarat working on a house for a client and you guys took me in with open arms, a very well established gym always down for a good chat and laugh when I rock up which always made my visit feel welcomed, great equipment with a big variety and a very friendly community inside the gym, I highly recommend seeing these guys they are absolute guns at what they do and kill it with what they want to accomplish which is make gym an enjoyable, fun and hard working atmosphere, keep it up guys I hope to be back down for work soon! Fantastic experience: Spartans gym is of exceptional quality. All of the machines are new and clearly looked after. Their range of equipment means that a vast range of exercises and muscle groups can be targeted. All their machines are magnificent with no rusty squeaky or high friction on any moving parts. Their weights are fantastic too with a range or Olympic plates bumpers and cast iron plates. The staff go so far above and beyond to help you feel welcome and their knowledge and expertise is greatly valued. I absolutely love this gym and I would recommend anyone in the ballarat area goes here.

After a year off training, I honesty didn't think I'd stick at it but the gym has some amazing staff and there is always a cool atmosphere to come in and do what you need too. Fantastic experience: I was quite intimidated at first because I'd never used a gym with proper machines and weights before but the staff are extremely helpful and will show you the ropes. There's always a professional getting around and keeping an eye on those working out to ensure no injuries occur. They offer samples of supplements and give you a very detailed description of the use and ingredients and their genuine opinion of the product.

Fantastic experience: I go here everyday, and it's got the best deals on membership and the best environment. Any type of machines you're looking for or equipment - they've got it. The environment is friendly and helpful, there's no judgement from members or staff here as there are at other gyms. A member of staff helped me pick out the best pre-workout for what I wanted per my request and he got it spot on. The staff is extremely helpful, but only tell you about things to buy that would be beneficial to you and your weightloss journey, not just because they want your money. Upon sign-up you get a free printed out workout regimen that's been helpful to me already. Best gym, also being 24hrs it sh*ts all over ANYTIME FITNESS. Recommend 10/10.
