Negative experience: This gym used to be great (and the staff are awesome), but management's decision to remove the frosting puts the safety of members, particularly women, at risk and overlooks their safety and security. It feels like management is prioritising free advertising through the exposure of members over their sense of safety and well-being. The gym's location on a busy street made frosting essential for privacy. Management's dismissive response to these genuine concerns led me and many others to cancel our memberships. It's a shame to see a place I once enjoyed prioritising potential profit over the security and comfort of the people who already supported this business. *Response to owner* That timeline is correct- the frosting was removed last September which is when I cancelled my membership if that’s what you needed clarity on.

Negative experience: I use to enjoy working out here, but management removing the frosted windows was stupid as a young female the frosted windows gave me closure that I wasn’t being creeped on Mind you Newstead zap is straight across the road from a bottle shop and a around the corner from a pub, it made me feel as if having more customers was more important than females comfortability, I work all days and most nights leaving me with late night gym sessions as the only option but having the thought in the back of my mind that someone could stalk me and wait somewhere in the dark and follow me home or god knows what made me stop going here.

Negative experience: This grandpa’s hogging two machines like it’s his home gym—rude and inconsiderate. Can we talk to him about this, please.

Negative experience: Steer clear.. Wow i thought the mowbray one was badly exposed to the street without the frosted windows, this one is even worse. Why would zap do such a thing. Privacy non existent. I would suggest not considering signing up here until they eventually get grow a brain and bring some sort of privacy back because what they have at the moment is not acceptable, no matter what bull they reply to this with ...

Negative experience: I no longer enjoy working out here due to managements decision to remove the frosted window tint from Zap gyms. I feel a complete invasion of privacy, especially at night. This is not the gym I signed up to and I'll be switching to another gym.

Fantastic experience: I walked past. Didn't go in. Later, I had a donut and a cigarette. I'm fit enough already, bro.

Negative experience: Quality equipment, clean space. 19/11/24 Have to update thos review so as not to mislead anyone. The gyms are basically a fish bowl that the entire public can stand in front of and oggle at you while you workout. They removed the frosting from all locations and increased their prices while reducing member privacy and safety. If you're looking for a great gym, check out Lift gym on racecourse cres.

Negative experience: some really big nepalese bloke (asish or something) and his friend offered me steroids, which i obviously refused and then tried to intimidate me. would not recommend, staff were not helpful in trying to sort out the situation either.

Negative experience: Used to love it here. My rating only reflects management's dangerous decision to remove the frosted glass. I like to go to a gym and know that i'm not being stared at or photographed by weirdos on the outside. I feel for women being creeped on in particular. My concerns were shrugged off by online customer "service". I cancelled my membership as a result. Went past here last night and oh jeez, it's so exposed now :( To me, a gym that puts their members in an exposed state like this is a major red flag in terms of safety and i'm not sure how it's legal to be honest. The staff here are legends though I hope no one is giving them grief over this as it's not their decision.

Positive experience: Staff are helpful. I was grilled about having no towel. Oops. But the Newstead gym isn't overly busy and a pretty good facility overall.

Positive experience: Good gym but doesn't have all the equipment, also smells quite bad often but does the trick.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with plenty of new machines, in great condition and clean.

Negative experience: Equipment is out dated and many machine's are out of order for month's on end. Zap Gym's in Burnie, Devonport and Hobart have had upgrades but all 4 gyms in Launceston have been forgotten about. Zap is no longer 24/7 and staffed hours are very restricted. I cancelled my membership due to this and have continued to be charged.

Positive experience: No fans, bad aircon, no space for stretching, lots of grunting and swearing by roid junkies. On the plus side: good selection of equipment, clean, friendly staff, and easy free parking.

Fantastic experience: A great gym if you are looking to work out by yourself with weights or with a training buddy.

Positive experience: Good! There is a wide variety of equipment and if for some reason one break down it's always fixed pretty quick. Also is a 24h gym which helps lots with odd working hours. The only improvement I would suggest is on the changing rooms/showers. Frequently they are not very clean and there is not room for more than one person. Another suggestion I'd make would be to offer some fitness classes!
