Snap Fitness 24/7 Ashburton

Positive experience: I just recently joined the Snap family and thought I would give Ashburton a try. Comparing this to other Snaps, this is quite a small gym. I spent most of my workout upstairs, stumble a couple of times over the slightly raised floor near the rack. Then thought I would finish off by doing a bit of boxing however there was a group class and they took up the whole area. This gym may suit some but for me, no thank you.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the group strength/cardio classes! The fact you can attend these without having to book or without any additional cost to your membership fee is so rare. Great variety in sessions and have met such lovely people along the way!

Negative experience: I was very unfortunate to have trained at this gym this evening as I had to pick up something from the post office nearby so I considered this a convenient move. Boy was I wrong. Before I had even started training I was harassed by a grumpy staff member questioning my eligibility to enter the premises even though I had scanned my access card with no problems. I was interviewed at the front desk and was spoken to in a condescending manner. I proceeded to start my training session upstairs and soon discovered this building had no ventilation system whatsoever. I found it hard to breathe and was dripping with sweat after minimal physical activity. It was not all bad, the standing single leg hamstring curl is a great piece of equipment that you don’t often see in local gyms. I wish they would leave it out on the street so i don’t feel like I am training inside a retirement village. Lastly I would like to mention that the atmosphere of the gym was as of like to a funeral of a loved relative. For the vast majority of people the gym is supposed to be a happy place and the funeral vibes shut that down very quickly for me. As much as I love Kelly Clarkson this is not appropriate gym music to be playing to the public. I will not be returning to this gym. Have a good day.

Negative experience: While the equipment is commendable and well-maintained, the rigidity of the contracts left me with a lasting negative impression. In order to ensure fairness and accommodate varying needs, it would be beneficial for the gym to consider offering more flexible contract options

Fantastic experience: Rob and the team at Snap Ashburton go the extra mile for their clients. Our son is ill and currently unable to attend. Rob was empathetic and caring and really went out of his way for us, showing kindness and care. Absolutely the best gym ever.

Fantastic experience: Having trained at many gyms over the years, Snap Fitness Ashburton is now my home, as it ticks all the boxes for being welcoming, friendly, clean, accessible and conveniently located, having sufficient classes to suit every fitness level, spacious without losing its sense of warmth, and overall, having a great vibe. Contrary to how 24/7 gyms can sometimes feel cold and transient, Snap Ashburton is the total opposite - it has heart and soul, made up of a great, thriving community of members from all backgrounds and walks of life. Sandro and Ange make the effort to get to know their members, and are absolutely authentic and lovely, as are the team of staff who make up this unique gym. The culture in this gym is so positive and encouraging - if you are a beginner, you won't feel intimated. If you are a seasoned gym junkie, you'll also fit right in. I love that my fitness journey has been able to progress since joining Snap Fitness Ashburton and look forward to training here every day.

I had never joined a gym and was very nervous but could not be happier with my choice I can come whenever I please due to the 24hr nature. I was also put in touch with PT Michael and I’ve never felt stronger and fitter! Thanks snap!

Fantastic experience: Lovely, welcoming staff who foster a great community feel in their gym. Fantastic equipment, always kept clean and tidy. Group classes are my favourite, welcoming and fun, definitely worth a try!

Positive experience: The gym has some great equipment and staff who have helped me approach my fitness goals. But I'd seriously recomend planning your workouts around the after school hours if you're able to. The gyms done a great job getting young people into fittness. Unfortunatelly for some of them it seems like it's become a bit more of an after school social club. If you're waiting for some equipment they're "using", you could be waiting a while, even after completing other excersizes. It's also not ideal if you're uncomfortable with aproaching a group of 5-6 people crowding the space of a machine you'd like to use. I frequently find myself and others, have to clear up forgotten/misplaced weights when using the barbell racks after them. While I appreciate that the gym can be a great social space. I personally (and I'm sure some others) find workouts have become quite frustrating/stressful when trying to navigate around these groups who don't seem to be very mindful of the space/people around them.

Fantastic experience: Lovely, helpful and friendly staff who are always so welcoming! Its got a real community feel! This club also has a great fit out spanning over the 2 levels and is always so fresh and clean! Love love love!

Fantastic experience: Joined Ashburton Snap Fitness with a friend. We have found staff to be extremely friendly, the equipment and group classes are great. The staff make a big effort to keep the gym extremely clean, lovely change rooms and bathrooms. Friendly atmosphere, highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Snap fitness ashburton is more spacious than some other gyms I've been to. It has two levels with a good range of new gym and cardio equipment which is always kept very clean. Sandro and Angela are always very welcoming. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I joined Snap Fitness Ashburton during lockdown last year in Victoria. It was great to do a workout other than walking the dog. I have really struggled to find an exercise regime that I liked after giving up martial arts in 2019. I started doing the HIIT classes Monday & Friday with Pauline and the Wednesday strength and conditioning. Pauline the trainer is great and always finds a way to make the class different and keep us accountable. I also had a personal gym program made by Michael “Coach Schwab”. I have three programs Upper Body, Lower Body and Whole Body and try to do them all once a week. In combination with the HIIT classes and dog walking this has been great for my overall strength and fitness. The other staff and PT’s are also really friendly. There are other gym options on High St that only open for a few hours each day. They are always super crowded and have no almost no equipment other that barbells and sandbags. I find them really off putting in this day and age. In contrast Snap Fitness is open 24 hours a day has a much larger space spread over two levels and lots of the latest equipment. It is fresh, hygienic, way less crowded and much better value for money on multiple levels. I highly recommend it to anybody young or old.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with super friendly staff and an awesome culture. The modern equipment is kept in great condition and allows me to perform a large variety of different exercises. Highly recommend coming down and checking it out for yourselves!

Fantastic experience: I was at APARC for many years and after COVID lockdowns went to SNAP. I have been so pleased with this move. The owners Ange and Sandro are so amazing and have built a really lovely community "family" feel at the centre. I love doing Pauline's circuit classes on Monday and Friday mornings. She's incredible. And the PT Dilip is amazing. I highly recommend the centre. It's just like coming "home" for me.

Fantastic experience: Best gym to go to for any level of fitness. Super welcoming and has access to the best quality equipment. Made the change early last year and it has been the best decision. Atmosphere is very warm and open and the staff are always happy to see you in their working on your craft.

They have the newest equipment available which is always kept clean and working. The trainers are so encouraging and always push me to my limits! Fantastic experience: My husband and I both joined Snap Fitness last year and are really glad we did! We have both been members of other gyms in the past but we really enjoy our time at Snap. The 24/7 access for varying work schedules and managing kids works very well for us! The equipment is lovely as it is very new and the whole place is kept very clean throughout the day! Classes are awesome as they guide and push you out of your comfort zone! Staff are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome, part of a community and you feel comfortable working out. I am welcomed by great owners and staff, boutique style gym, plenty of equipment for strength and cardio, covid clean at all times, and fantastic circuit classes to change it up.
