Fantastic experience: Excellent gym amazing staff just over all amazing

Negative experience: I would not recommend this gym to anyone who values honest, upfront information and responsive customer service. I had high hopes for this gym, but my experience was poor from start to finish. The lack of transparency around pricing, the dismissive attitude when I raised concerns, and the way the owner made me feel that I was at fault for her not providing upfront pricing information left me deeply perplexed and disappointed. I originally saw an ad for a $9.95 per week membership, but when I toured the gym, I was told that price was only available on a 36-month contract—a crucial detail left out of the advertisement. A 12-month membership was $15.95 per week, a significant increase never made clear upfront. One of my main reasons for joining was their sauna, which was mentioned/shown on their website. Before signing up, I asked if they had one if it was infrared, and how booking worked. At no point was I told there was an extra charge to use it. I was simply informed that I needed to notify staff in advance so they could warm it up. Given my clear interest and the lack of mention of additional fees, I reasonably assumed the sauna was included in my membership. On the last day of my cooling-off period (05/02/2025), I attempted to book the sauna and was blindsided when the receptionist told me it would cost $20 per use. Confused, I emailed the owner, Claire, well within their staffed hours, asking her to clarify. She didn’t respond until the next day (06/02/2025)—after my cooling-off period had expired—apologising for "not being clear" and explaining that the sauna cost either $20 per session or an additional $5 per week. When I pointed out that she had never disclosed this crucial detail, she claimed she hadn’t realised I was asking about the price—even though I had specifically inquired about how it worked before signing up. Had she responded within their staffed hours on the day I asked, I would have been within my rights to cancel under the 7-day cooling-off period. Instead, I was left without that option due to her delayed response. At this point, I was completely dissatisfied and asked to cancel my membership. Claire ignored multiple emails until I followed up on 10/02/2025, at which point she finally responded but denied any responsibility, claiming that since I had never directly asked for sauna pricing, she wasn’t obligated to disclose it. She then informed me they would be charging their $100 cancellation fee, which was very obvious in the contract. Showing this detail and not the sauna additional fees is a clear omission of information and a price gouge. When I asked for a copy of my contract, it took her two more days to send it. By then, it was clear that they had deliberately withheld key information, leaving me with no choice but to either accept additional fees to proceed with the cancellation of my membership. Throughout this experience, I was told that I was the problem for expecting basic transparency. Every time I raised a valid concern, it was turned back on me, as though I had somehow failed to ask the right questions—when, in reality, the information should have been provided upfront. I am absolutely baffled at the owner's behaviour in this matter. I was left feeling unheard, dismissed, and frustrated. I communicated clearly, promptly, and politely, yet I was ignored, gaslit, and made to feel at fault for their lack of transparency. While I understand that every gym has its own policies, the lack of clear communication and accountability here made for an incredibly disappointing experience. Plenty of other gyms communicate openly, include clear pricing, and treat their members with respect.

Fantastic experience: "One day or Day 1" and on my first day I found I was stronger than I thought, especially having the fortitude and encouragement to keep going. I did things like situps (first time in 20years), lunges (nearly fell over), and squats (body didn't know how to do squats properly). All dreaded, all anxiety, but I did it! Yay! Such a great, encouraging environment, with friendly attendees, and awesome instructors. I probably compare myself to goo or noodles too often, but that's a sure sign of a great workout. I couldn't have done this on my own, but I didn't have to. The environment and support are unparalleled. The equipment is great too. I'm getting better at squats, learning how to go from HEELS and use CORE, not toes and using back. I will probably and thankfully forever have Claire's voice in my head saying "Heels" every time I bend or lift, because even after only 2 weeks, it has made a GINORMIC difference in my life. That's the plan though, the goal to strive for. Fit For Life

Fantastic experience: I feel so welcome at Fit For Life thanks to Claire and Matt. Soo good to be able to take our kids with us to the gym while my husband and I work out. Classes cater to all abilities and facilities are great.

Fantastic experience: A truly inclusive gym that is perfect for mums getting back into the gym, bring your Little ones along! A bonus that it is also super reasonable.

Fantastic experience: Love the gym specially at night, chill and spacious, you can even jam on spotify and play your music on your phone, nice staff :)

Fantastic experience: I chose to come to Fit For Life mostly because it is a family friendly gym and my kids are welcome to come in and play or hang in the lounge, this meant I could come in when ever I wanted to no matter our schedules. The confidence and knowledge I have gained joining in challenges and classes has been priceless, not to mention the fitness and strength! It’s been so great!

Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with this gym. Initially, they agreed to a non lock in contract, which was a key reason I signed up. However, when I needed to cancel my membership due to serious medical reasons, they hit me with an outrageous cancellation fee. To make matters worse, they had changed the contract terms without any communication or notice. This experience has left me furious and feeling completely misled. I would not recommend this gym to anyone. The staff is unhelpful and seems disinterested in addressing any issues. Overall, it’s not worth the membership fee

Fantastic experience: Cannot speak highly enough of both the gym itself & the wonderful owners Claire & Matt! The gym itself has all the equipment you could need to get an effective workout in, as well as a fully equipped kitchen for members to enjoy! Owners Matt & Claire are SO welcoming & helpful. The classes are great as well - one of the best gyms I've been to, couldn't recommend enough!

Negative experience: Signed up for the 8 week challenge which was a success for me. Once I joined up for online personal training I was stood up at my assessment then my “personalised training plan” was a stock standard pre written plan that had no thought put into it whatsoever. I wasn’t asked once what works for me and what doesn’t nor what I do/don’t enjoy. I’m 3 weeks in and still haven’t been given an eating guide. Receiving responses is like pulling teeth and the engagement between myself and the trainer is almost non existent. I suggest looking elsewhere if you want real support.

Fantastic experience: I am sooo happy I started my fitness journey here. Everyone was soooo welcoming you truly feel a sense of family. Anastasia took the time to discuss everything with me in my induction and made sure I felt comfortable and all my questions were answered... This was really important to me since I was feeling super anxious getting back into fitness after a couple of years. I loveddd attending all the classes and Anastasia and the other trainers would customise it for me due to a back injury. Anastasia would remember during each class and already have the alternative workout ready for me without having to remind her or need to mention it in every class. The best atmosphere and vibe you can get at a gym.

Positive experience: Great if you need a private gym. Took membership in mid Feb it was quite After speaking to Anastasia a lovely lady who helped in enrolling us and could provide U a workout schedule if you need Was very friendly and helpful She said that they are usually busy but due to Covid it was quite. Limited and old equipments however most of them work as it should Since there are limited number of ppl you don't have to wait for others and if you need to workout without waiting for others it's the best place All the staff here are very friendly They do have supplements available In case you forget they do have one serving supplement and a vending machine with kitchen and free breakfast, toilet and shower Overall it's a nice private gym

Fantastic experience: I would never have joined a gym if it weren't for this place. I am intimidated by the competitive and busy atmospheres of other gyms, but Fit for Life is a welcoming and accepting environment for people from all walks of life. Scott and the team run it like we are a family, I am always greeted kindly and feel comfortable asking for help. I really appreciate whats being done here and thank you guys for your support :)

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend the gym highly enough, such a friendly atmosphere and you don’t ever feel judged, trainers are first class and highly approachable. Gym has an inferred sauna, shower, and toilets and community shared pantry which is such a great idea. Everytime you walk in you are greeted with a friendly smile and a positive attitude that makes you want to come back repeatedly, and they never are pushy, and if you need help they are always happy to help how ever they can. Fantastic experience: I was super worried about being judged by other gym member and very self conscious and not sure at first but since I signed up and started going I realised I had nothing to worry about, a fellow gym member helped me out on my first day and was very friendly and as time went on I found out that Fit For Life 24/7 Gym isn't just any gym, it's a family and the people and staff are extremely supportive and helpful and the staff go above and beyond and they care about you and your family and check in on you as well. And it's kid friendly as well which is definitely a plus for parents like myself. Can't highly recommend this place enough, come in for a tour and get a feel of the place and people, that's what sold me on signing up.

Fantastic experience: Where do I start.... All I can say is Fit for Life in Carrum Downs is the best gym I have ever been a member of. I've been through the doors of so many gyms but always found myself feeling unsupported, and out of my depth. That always resulted in paying for a membership I didn't use! I bet you've all been there! At Fit for Life not only do you get the 'gym family' environment that I personally love, but staff are friendly, supportive, and so full of knowledge that they just want to share. From training and nutrition, injury prevention and support to hormonal and physical imbalances. You can do a class, train with one of the awesome pts, train yourself with a personalised program or even do one of their famous 8 week challenges. I walked through the doors 3 years ago and with the guidance and support from the staff I am now 20kgs lighter and stronger and healthier than ever. I've found my forever gym, you too should come and join the family!

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym 2 years ago and it literally changed my life..my excuse on not being able to workout was always my kids and my self esteem was low.. This gym changed that as I could take my kids with me cause of the free 24/7 play area available and the kids loved playing in there.. and they was no judgment from the friendly staff/owners I wasn’t just a number I was someone that they wanted to help.. 30kg down and still enjoy going every day this gym is my second home/family...

Fantastic experience: I don’t know how Fit4Life manage to run such a great fitness set up at such a low cost. I was a little reluctant to check out this gym at first. It was a little further away from me than I would’ve liked. However, I have been very impressed with the facilities, the staff and I love the 24hr access. All makes the extra 5/10 minutes te get there worth it.

Fantastic experience: I have been to many gyms and hated them all. Lucky to last a month and give up. Then a friend said go to FIT FOR LIFE. I did and WOW I love this place. I know it's a gym but to me it like working out at home with some mates. No judgement just people wanting to help you to be the best you can be. Perhaps they should be called Stay for life.... as there is no other gym I will ever join.

Fantastic experience: As a new member at any gym walking in on day one can feel pretty daunting. I’m 4 weeks in and I couldn’t have found a more supportive environment. The ongoing nutrition advice from Scotty and the team has been second to none and the changes I’ve seen in my body in such a short time is a testament to their knowledge.

Fantastic experience: 5 months ago, I was the biggest I had ever been... I was in a bad place mentally and I was very unhappy inside and out... I hid behind baggy clothes and tried to put on a happy face, but I was a shell of myself, just going through the day to day motions. Joining Fit For Life was the best gift I have ever given myself! Not only am I on track physically but mentally I am back!!! I can’t remember the last time I felt this bloody great!!! The gym members (now whom I call friends) are always super friendly, helpful and encouraging. The facilities are fantastic, with the added bonus of the inferred sauna, kitchen, massage chairs and kids play area. Scotty, Joel, Dylan, Susan and Anastasia are beyond phenomenal, always there to help, give advice, but most importantly to listen, and give you a good dose of whatever it is you are needing at that particular moment. I have been a member of other gyms before and none come close to the sense of community that these guys have created!!! If you are reading this review, stop searching online and come join the FFL family! I cannot thank you enough Fit For Life ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: This gym is not only a gym to me it’s a home away from home, it’s the only gym I have EVER walked into and never received body shaming I’ve been a member for roughly 3years and within the first week I already felt like I was part of a healthy family with positive outcomes. Also this gym offers an excellent kids area, infared sauna and massage chairs, also a fully functioning kitchen the list goes on and on with plenty of positive feedback for this place. I believe this gym fit for life deserves more than a 5 star rating. So if you reading this come on down and take a look for yourself You won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I have trained at many gyms over an 18 year weightlifting/strength training career and I can honestly say that this is the very best. The staff are amazing and the members are always happy and supportive of each other. My 2 kids (4 & 2) and I have always felt welcomed and accepted. Fit for life truly is a family gym where everyone of any fitness levels are welcomed and supported to reach their fitness goals what ever they might be.
