Fantastic experience: After reading some of the reviews, i really don't know what everyone is complaining about. I joined this gym four years ago and absolutely love it. I do classes 5 times a week, Jason and Nancy are my favourite instructors, I feel like its my second home as everyone is friendly and people actually talk to each other, not like other gyms in the area. Jason really is the backbone to this gym, he is passionate and cares about members and is very easy to talk to. The large studio has a beautiful wooden floor, one huge wall full of mirrors, lots of fans and a powerful music system that was recently replaced. With regards to the ladies toilets, they are satisfactory, I'm not going to lose sleep if there is a piece of paper on the sink. For those doing free weights and using the machines, there is a good balance of machines and three zones to work out in. Not to forget the ample free parking. See you soon, Jo.

Negative experience: I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone especially if you have an injury. I’m giving them one star for a few reasons and will completely justify why. Join at your own risk. 1. Their PT knew I had a back injury and told me to trust him, in one free 1 hour session it caused a muscle tear. I contacted the gym who took absolutely no responsibility and said they are contractors. They didn’t contact to offer to freeze my membership nothing. I haven’t been able to train for over 2 months and cost me close to a thousand dollars in medical scans, Dr consultations, physio and medication , not once did they contact even though they said they would get back to me. Not even an apology from the trainer. 2. I’m leaving Brisbane and heading away which is over 1200km away for family reasons beyond my control, there is no good life gym so I asked to cancel, apparently you can’t cancel unless you pay a fee. And whilst talking to Reuben , he thought he put me on hold and started mocking me to his co worker, repeating what I said to her in a stupid voice . Seriously!! Just adding insult to injury. This type of attitude and behaviour is totally unacceptable and I won’t tolerate being made fun of and mocked for no reason. Are these the type of people you want to take your hard earned money? They don’t care about you or me, just interested in ripping you off for every cent they can but to take it up a level and make fun of you, no it’s not funny, treat people with respect, you expect us to treat your equipment and staff with the same respect but you don’t reciprocate. Grow up we’re not in primary school, there is absolutely no need to treat people with disrespect. I transferred from another gym due to relocation and they were happy to cease my membership in good faith as there was no gym in close proximity. Go find a better gym with people that care about your wellbeing not just about their profits.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrendous customer service from horrid woman at reception (6:15am). Looks like she hasn’t smiled since 2004… literal energy drain.. she’s got the vibrational frequency of a puddle of bin juice.. place is packed like a mosh pit and has a strange odour emanating from it. Might have been old bin juice who knows.. if you’re thinking of joining a gym do yourself a favour and bypass this joint.

Negative experience: I hate coming here- I only do when I absolutely have to because of the close location to work. It’s not clean, paper towels everywhere, even a coffee cup that’s been left so long there’s mould growing in it…

Negative experience: the staff and management at this gym will take advantage of you if you’re not careful. I signed up to a no lock in contract, being ensured multiple times by an employee and the manager that there was no hidden fees or time period of cancellation. even being promised by the manager that I would receive a refund of my last payment prior to cancelling. when I went to cancel I was informed that I would have to finish out a months worth of payments and membership before it canceled. being told over and over again before signing the contract this would not happen. worst company ever!! would not trust them.

Fantastic experience: Nice gym with lots of machines. I recommend working with the PTs! My PT Jericho has helped me get motivated for the gym and stay on top of my fitness, highly recommend training with him!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had great experiences with Goodlife gyms in general, as I often go to different locations, but I especially want to highlight the Fortitude Valley one. Not only are the instructors amazing, but the whole reception team (Liam, Ruben, etc) is absolutely lovely too. You feel like part of the family when you go there. It’s not just about the quality of the classes but also the positive and welcoming atmosphere at reception. Highly recommend it!

Fantastic experience: Went to this gym a few weeks ago to try out as I was in the area. Staff were very friendly and I was greeted by smiling faces and hellos. During my workout, I was kindly helped out by one of their trainers named Jericho, and he showed me some great tips and pointers for my workout regime. He even offered me a free session!!! Would recommend to anyone in the area or keen to try out a new bit of iron pumping scenery.

Negative experience: If you want an advice don’t subscribe a membership in that gym, the equipment is always out of order and nobody fix it, for exemple on the first picture this equipment is out of order for maybe 2months… and last but not least the male changing room smell shit for real

Negative experience: I don't recommend this gym to anyone! The equipment is veery bad and poorly maintained. They don't have basic accessories like ankle straps and decent steps. Additionally, the cleanliness is terrible... the gym smells like sweat, and the women's bathroom is disgusting!!! always has paper on the floor and lacks proper care. On top of that, some of the staff are very rude, pretending to be busy on the computer to avoid saying "good morning". I've been to other locations, and all of them are terrible. I would say they're awful.

Negative experience: Gym turning into dump. Don't know about women bathroom but mens is bad. Shower door missing lock for weeks, hand towels lying everywhere, nobody clean it. Weights area padding need to be repaired on some machines, damaged for weeks. You cannot talk to menager ( new ), you need to feel contact at reception to get some response from manager located couple metres away The good thing is the people who train there but maybe it's time to look for another gym.

Negative experience: I have been going to this gym for many years. It used to be fantastic, but now, it is a bad joke. The current Managment is appalling. Despite trying to communicate with them through both email and phone calls, they are unresponsive. There does not seem to be a head office number/email to deal with either. The no. 1 issue is that equipment is not maintained. Upholstered padding on equipment has been ripped and broken for months; handles and grips perishing/failing; moving equipment frequently broken or too stiff to use. Simple maintenance such as spraying silicon/grease on moving parts would help prevent break down. The lighting was replaced in one section. It is now so bright, that you feel like you are working out in a hospital waiting room. Toilet/bathroom cleanliness has also clearly suffered budget cut backs. If Angela McCulloch, really is the 'Club Manager', then she should be replaced. Clearly she is not up to the job. The positives for this gym is its location, and the people who go to the gym.

Negative experience: Worst gym never trained before always full of peoples and you need to wait every exercise you need to do not equipped properly not enough machine for every one every time you train is full not recommended

Negative experience: Don’t waste your time or money! I have an outstanding complaint from back in July this has been ongoing since I signed with them in May. They still have not given me or my refer member our weeks free. I have sent yet another email today and I doubt I will hear back from them. I have requested a call back from their regional manager which still has not received. Worst business model ever! They say all the right things but the delivery is poorly executed at best. I do not recommend any Goodlife as if you go to another Goodlife they say they can’t help you either as the issue lies with another branch. Absolutely disgusted

Negative experience: I consider providing feedback to this particular branch is waste of time. I gave my feedback on multiple occasions face to face filled forms etc asked for call back as i was geniune to make this work for myself , so I get value for my money. And no improvement whatsoever, even gone worst. I will not renew my membership for sure. And please do not bother responding my message with your generic response to say sorry and you acknowledge etc. Because your action talks and you have serious internal issues to fix to be a member organisation.. Negative experience: extremely rude staffs (the blond one ) and treat you as if you were a criminal even though you show that you are a member, the sauna does not work, the bathroom is a dump and there are no wipes to clean the equipment. stay away from this place, the worst gym I have ever trained in my life

Staff approach people who train with false statement that are not in the policies asking people to leave without proper explanation. Staff rudely address members and make wrong judgements by cultural background / natinality / language in very angry and aggressive manner. If you ask for explanation they say to contact their manager because they don't know. Staff forbid to use fitness space for exercises for members and some were asking to pay them extra money for this. This gym doesn't even have sanitising napkins!!! It must closed! Don't go there.

Negative experience: The youngish blonde lady at reception (Fortitude Valley branch; early Sunday morning) was very rude, condescending and unwelcoming to me and my friend who wanted to enquire about joining the gym. When we told her that she was not being very welcoming she did not apologize but merely applied more lip balm to her lips. Please advise your staff to be more friendly as her attitude was uncalled for and can result in your gym losing potential members.

Negative experience: The actual gym isn't too bad, machine selection is ok, plenty of squat racks, a few spaces to warm up or do your own hiit etc. It gets very very busy during peak period, but that's to be expected with GL. My biggest gripe is the smell. It's sooo rank. The stink comes all the way out from the bathrooms to the machines outside them, and in the bathrooms actually makes me want to gag. Sauna and ice room also smell their own special brands of awful, and the sauna is not at all hot enough. The location is great and staff seem nice, but by jaysus it needs a deep clean and a half.

Negative experience: The time was about 3 years ago, I entered the gym breathing uninhibited by plastic microfibres reducing my oxygen levels when a staff member tried to put a sticker on me in an attempt to fix the flu. I politely declined, then the staff member began screaming at me so unhinged I decided to cancel my membership. I would love to get an update on the sticker procedure that goodlife was conducting, are you still doing that? Real health professionals! Never forget.

Negative experience: We are a family looking to join a local gym and start our fitness journey together. Since we haven’t used a gym before we wanted to be able Tom experience the culture of the gym before deciding if it’s the right fit for us. Unfortunately, despite a 1 week trial pass being offered my husband and son weren’t able to take advantage of this offer instead being told that they had to sign up for membership on the spot. I went on a separate trial pass to my husband and son and was able to experience the gym first hand. This was from my experience a good opportunity to get a feel for things and had My husband and son experienced the same then we would likely have signed up to membership. This wasn’t the case however as my husband explained to the young trainer that he was feeling uncomfortable with the hard sell and was met with rudeness. I guess this gym isn’t going to be the right fit for us. A shame that this particular gym chooses to approach potential new members in such a negative manner. We will be selecting one of the other local gyms who have been very welcoming and approachable so far. 3 new potential members lost because is such a hard sell and unapproachable culture

Negative experience: What a rude guy who call me yesterday at 11 am I went for a 5 days trial I didn’t have time to go yesterday either today, he said WHY DID YOU START WITH THE TRIAL THEN? Negative experience: What an absolute nightmare of a gym! I get an email at 5PM on a Friday afternoon saying the membership was cancelled. No cancellation request was submitted, this was confirmed in their system. They then pass you around to 4 different people from the receitpion team, sales & managers. I was told that once the 18th month contract had expired they go on a month-to-month contract. However, they tried getting me to sign up to a 12-month contract somehow trying to get me tied up into a 12-month contract. I was questiond a few times whether I wanted to cancel and my reasoning was fairly straight forward. Why should I be put on a 12-month contract when I was already going to be on a month-to-month contract at effectively the same rate (give or take 60-70c). A few days later I receive a call from one of the managers of the club asking if I just wanted to continue on the month-to-month agreement (what I was originally meant to be put on automatically). It was a brief call which ended in him saying no worries, he'll get it done. The next day I receive a call from someone else on the team saying my case had been handed to him (why so much moving around... just get one person to handle the matter). They then wanted me to pay almost double for a month again making it my problem to deal with. They're forcing renewal costs down my throat when the issue wasn't even on my end. Issues: - Constantly being bounced around between multiple people - Trying to push a 12-month contract when I was already meant to be on a month-to-month - Trying to get me to pay for an issue that was on their end and get me to flip the bill. Never once had an issue with this gym until I saw the full brunt of their team trying to flex every angle to get me to pay more. Negative experience: This review is not only for the goodlife fortitude valley, but for goodlife itself. After paying for the 1year lock-in contract I was excited to cancel it, and was informed that even after that period I would still need to give 30 days notice. It was on the contract, on the small letters. But this only show how this gym is only after retaining our money. I paid them for one year, but I would never recommend it to anyone and will never spend another coin with them again. Very disappointed.

Negative experience: The gym facilities are in a poor state of repair. Regularly equipment seems to be out of order for days. Three shower cubicle were out of soap. Dorrs do not lock properly. The Steam Room does not function. The Sauna room stinks like it has never been cleaned. Management seems to be too occupied to address the issues.

Negative experience: Been with them for almost 5 months and the main class room has been under construction for at least 4 months now, so they have been squeezing people in a small class room. I haven’t been able to attend to most of Body Pump classes at 5:30pm because it’s too crowded in the small room. It can only accommodate half the people. I’d love a discount on my membership for not being able to use the big main class room for all these months.

Negative experience: This is a decent gym, affordable and lots of equipment - HOWEVER - their weights area NEEDS to expand. There are 50+ treadmills/cardio machines wasting space in the centre that I’ve only ever seen 10 people use at one time. However there is always someone on every weighted machine and in heavier times there are queues of people waiting for each, which really stuffs up your routine. This gym would be paradise if they got rid of 50% of their cardio equipment and expanded the mat area to accomodate more weights. Even just adding some more free weight benches would help so then the free weights could be used more effectively.

The staff especially the girl with blonde hair I think her name is montana is so rude and disrespectful, bad customer service. The equipment here is always broken and super limited. No hip thrust machine… at this age, 2 seated leg presses, both old and not working! Equipment Not maintained or cleaned. Super outdated gym, bathrooms, studio has broken floorboards and not in use all the time, dirty bathrooms. Hate how this is my local one, this needs a huge reconstruction in staff and facilities.

Negative experience: DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. Can absolutely confirm other reviews regarding the quality and maintenance of the gym equipment and the unprofessionalism of staff here. The club has deteriorated even further in the past few months. Women’s bathroom has had a toilet blocked for weeks despite the issue reported on multiple occasions. Manager has left the toilet open and full of sh*t, exposing gym users to unhygienic conditions. Manager claims he gets all equipment fixed once it’s reported as broken (maybe be proactive and do regular maintenance??). Bikes reported as broken have stayed that way for over 6 months. Much of the equipment broken, faulty or not fit for purpose, the club manager actively discourages and ignores feedback. Our RPM and body pump class and instructors have been providing feedback about broken equipment for over 18 months. No action or basic maintenance has been taken. Our RPM instructor often has to find bike parts to replace the spin bikes made available to us. Some class members have cut themselves on broken parts of the bike. Feedback regarding unprofessionalism of staff is not only ignored, but members are blamed for it instead. Group fitness instructors frequently verify the poor experience club members receive.

Negative experience: I usually go to Morningside Goodlife. I introduced a friend to join me at this gym to do a hitt workout on a Wednesday morning last week during open week. The instructor was on her phone the whole class, she didn't participate in the exercises and rarely looked up from her phone. There was no instructing. She played the music and watched the time. There was only a handful of people in the class, now I know why. Very disappointing as my gym has very good instructors.

Positive experience: Crowdy, needs to wait for incline bench or other strength building machines, the dumbels range 2.5kg over 10kg. Other gyms have 2kg instead. I liked a number of cardio machines available all the time, also selected areas and tiedness. A lot of people and 90% cleaned after themself. There was no smell and music in the background good.

He uses the bathroom outside didn't wash his hands, during a pandemic this is just madness. .. precursor last time I was here at a baby store used the men's bathroom outside again, exact said same issue with another male staff member. You should wash your hands even before people like myself had Sars-cov-2 twice. Shame guys...shame

Bathrooms and showers always seem to smell, floors are grubby, steam room is temperamental, and they've replaced the screws in the sauna seats (which haven't been sunken in enough, leaving little cross marks/burns on ya buns!). To their credit, they will validate parking for up to 3hrs, to match the previous parking allocation.

Negative experience: Absolute scam artists. I would highly recommend reading the reviews for this gym and moving right along. I made the mistake of believing every word the sales assistant told me about the convenience of 24 hour access. The sales assistant was aware I am working 7 days a week assisting with the Covid crisis and wasn’t able to attend during staffed hours. I was then signed up and not made aware that I am unable to attend the gym until physically meeting with a staff member in person. This was something the sales assistant was aware of when signing me up but unfortunately they were thinking mainly on the commission they would receive. I opted for the highest rate weekly with no lock in contract. Turns out you still have a contract and have to pay a month. I then asked as a customer being charged for services not being used if I could go in on my partners pass, this was after I asked if he could pick up my pass for me and they wouldn’t accomodate it. When I was unhappy with the service before Christmas the response was someone would get back to me after Christmas (pretty much I got my commission and I am in holiday mode). As a someone who works closely with legislation daily I am aware the sales assistant has messed up with what has been put in writing and have taken this to the ombudsman. Don’t fall for the scam

Negative experience: Drove half an hour to this club location specifically for the 45min rpm class only to be told that it would be a 30min pace class instead. Having a sign up in the club is not sufficient enough, as I don’t usually train at this location. Otherwise what’s the point of having the kubo fit app if it’s not updated accordingly? On top of that major disappointment the air conditioner was also broken and to make it even hotter the replacement instructor left the lights on for the entire class.
