Negative experience: I would of gave zero stars if i could, dealing with these people has been a nightmare! As a small business owner located beneath their premises, I've had numerous complaints from customers about the disruptive weight drops which is causing big loud banging noises and scaring customers away. Despite my efforts to resolve the issue amicably, they've consistently failed to deliver on their promises since January. It's disheartening that they show no understanding or respect for other small businesses that are operating. Instead, they make empty promises and lie about resolving the issue. I'm fed up with their lack of accountability! If you support small businesses, especially in Chapel Street, Prahran, I urge you to take your business elsewhere and support other local gyms that truly value their customers and others rather then being selfish and only worry about their own business.

Negative experience: Don’t sign up. Asking for cancellation after over a year contract, walk-in and also send an email about it, but sent to debt-collectors instead and still be charged for more extras and call are on hold or transfer

Negative experience: Reading through some of these reviews and seems that I am experiencing the exact same 'broken promises', that my membership suspension/hold will be actioned by this elusive manager they speak of that has to do it. Have been told it "will be done today" the last 2x I called and have sent 3 emails now, all of which have not been responded to. Have followed up a 4th time today to get my membership put on hold and have since had debits taken out, which I am confident will never be refunded like they 'promise' it will be. Disappointing when such simple tasks cant be actioned and I have been a member there for close to 10 years.

More like Bad life with These people, the absolute worse to deal with, I’m a small business owner that is underneath these guys, I have had many complaints from customers who complain about the weight drops from up above, even though I have tried to be friendly and find a solution in working with them, they keep giving me the same empty promises, I have been going through this since January! Positive experience: Pretty decent gym with good variety of equipment.. has potential to be pretty immaculate.. been coming here for 5 years now. You want to whoop yourself in shape? Then hit up Prince Coleman. That man will have you questioning your existence after 20 minutes but makes you want to excel to your full potential. The bloke knows his stuff.

Negative experience: The staff are friendly but in my opinion this gym is not modern with bad ventilation. The smell is not good! The bike station looks so depressing is nothing motivated. The women bathroom are not clean or maybe they are so old bathroom that looks really bad, and f we compare with anytime fitness o fitness first this is not the best gym.

Fantastic experience: Been with GoodLife for almost 2 years. Had to change from the Mooroolbark gym to the one in Prahran due to moving out. I've been here for a year and am proud and happy to call GoodLife (Prahran) my gym! The staff are always super helpful, friendly with big grins on their faces! And the equipment is easy to use! Only gripes I have are the Peak Hours of Gym attendance. Essentially 5-8pm mom-fri. But that is a subjective, and easy solution: avoid those times! And the 24hr access is very appreciated! Especially for the nightshift workers! I couldn't recommend this gym more!

Fantastic experience: I love the all the class instructors who run the body attack and pump classes. They are an awesome team and always mixing it up with themes, collaboration and fun - be it Anzac Day special, Barbie, Valentine’s, Easter - you name it they’ve planned a theme to celebrate the occasion. Fantastic experience: Goodlife Prahran is most definitely a gym I would recommend for everyone. This exceptionally high quality gym with advanced weight machinery, goes above and beyond to meet member’s training satisfaction and needs. With an exceptional gym layout, multiple diverse group fitness sessions, a female weights room, cycle studio, an exclusive boxing area and much more ! This gym is a safe space to train at and would highly recommend!! Goodlife Health Clubs never fail to meet members’s needs and I always leave with the biggest pump from all my sessions !

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Goodlife Prahran for years and have always found it to be a fun and happy environment to train. The group fitness classes are awesome and the instructors are passionate. There are quite a few regulars that go and we’ve all become like an extended family.

Fantastic experience: I usually attend quite early in the morning and it’s not too busy. I’m into the group exercise classes and they have a good range on the timetable. I love Body Pump, Attack and RPM to get my strength and cardio workouts in. Members are friendly and accommodating, staff are helpful. There’s a ladies only exercise area if you’re into that and there’s a large cardio section with plenty of equipment.

Negative experience: Deeply concerning behaviour by 'management'. I have been charged incorrect amounts by Debit Success numerous times from the moment I signed up. I had to call and email the club before I got any response and I was told by the 'manager' that he would handle it...Which he did not. I had to keep calling for weeks and meanwhile being charged incorrectly all the time, $10 dollars here, $60 dollars there, always incorrect. No one from the club got in touch or updated me during this time, which I was told I would be kept in communication on the issue with debit success. I had to keep calling and they said they are dealing with debit success and would get back to me. They never did, I have been calling and emailing to try and cancel my account, as I was on a month to month anyway, and nobody is getting back to me. Keep getting charged by debit success.

Negative experience: Worst Gym ever!!!! I signed up with Goodlife and was told I was going to get a four week free trial period. Of course they started charging me straight away before I even use the Gym for the first time. Call them to advise and they just mess me around for so long. And then told me that I was not gonna get charged any more. Went to go use the gym after hours And was unable to access the Gym. Spoke to them the next day and they told me that they suspended my account so I wouldn’t get charged. Yet no one bothered to advise me of this which is so ridiculous. The staff is completely Incompetence. I had to call and speak to people at least eight times just to get one simple thing resolved. A lot of the Gym equipment is broken. In the summertime, it is extremely hot in there I was going to pass out. The toilet seats are broken and not clean. The lockers are all broken and you have to bring a padlock. The only good thing about this gym was the location, but everything else was just a complete miss. Would never ever sign up here again.!
Negative experience: Went to do a work out and was literally sweating getting changed in the change room. Got to the cardio area and it was even hotter. Was too hot to work out. Went back to the change room and got changed and left. I asked the guy at reception if this is how hot it usually is and he said on hot days yes. He said he was sweating as well. Would not recommend joining here unless you like to work out in very hot conditions.
Negative experience: Had been a member since 2022, called to cancel as I had not used membership for over a year due to starting BFT. Was told there is a 4 week notice period for any cancellations, not interested in waiving as I am leaving even though provided membership fees at least a year without using equipment. I will never return.
Fantastic experience: Pharan goodlife is one of the best gyms in Melbourne it has a great space to either do cardio and weights. Staff are always friendly when you walk up the stairs and scan your card. Updated equipment with a great range so you know there is equipment available. Hygiene has improved from 5 years ago especially in the male toilets where there is now toilet scrubs to clean the toilets and the washing bowls get cleaned regularly. I'm a male but for female who wants privacy there is a female only section. Hope this gym stays open for a long time because u feel great coming to work out there.

Negative experience: Broken Promises & Contractual Chaos at Goodlife Health Prahran Walking into Goodlife Health Prahran, I was initially impressed by the stellar equipment and spacious layout. Finding decent parking in Prahran is a near-myth, so the 2-hour window was a welcome bonus. But sadly, my initial enthusiasm quickly dissolved into frustration thanks to a tangled web of miscommunication and broken promises**. Here's the deal: I was offered two personal training jump start sessions as part of a new member deal. Sounded fantastic, right? Except, when I went to book, the staff member informed me the offer wasn't valid for my preferred trainer. Fair enough, mistakes happen. We agreed to find another compatible trainer, and the staff member assured me everything was good to go. Imagine my surprise when the manager swooped in, declaring the jump start sessions suddenly was valid for a specific time and will not be offer at all! Instead, they suggested cramming these sessions into my existing weekly membership. Talk about a bait-and-switch! This whole ordeal left me feeling cheated and disrespected. If their staff offers an incentive, especially one as enticing as free training sessions, shouldn't the management honour it? Words matter, especially when they're presented as part of a contractual agreement, like a new member deal. This flip-flopping approach to promises is not only unprofessional, it damages trust and leaves a sour taste in members' mouths. **Goodlife Health Prahran, here's the message:** Your gym boasts impressive equipment and convenient location, but your communication needs a major overhaul. Train your staff to **confirm with management if they're unsure about offers**, and for heaven's sake, stand by their word. Broken promises and contractual ambiguity have no place in a respectable gym. **Rating:** 1 star (generously, because the equipment really is top-notch) I urge potential members to approach Goodlife Health Prahran with cautious optimism. While the facilities are great, be prepared for potential communication breakdowns and questionable contract interpretations. Hopefully, they'll learn from this and prioritize clear communication and honoring commitments to regain the trust of their members.

Positive experience: Avoid going to this gym in a hot day, you will fried yourself in the workout area, its ventilation system is terrible just fans blowing hot air if you get one close to you, otherwise just a big oven.

Positive experience: A smaller gym feels a little cramped. Only 1 pair of dumbells per weight is quite annoying.

Negative experience: I tried to stop my membership yesterday, I just called the gym because it’s specified on internet that you just need to reach out through the number put on the website. My boyfriend first called around 10am yesterday. He stopped his and asked for mine to be stopped too. The woman on the phone asked for my first name and then my surname. When he told her my surname was long, she said “I can’t do it for you, she’ll have to email me”, she was clearly lazy to take my whole name. I called her after when he told me he couldn’t do it for me. She asked for my first name and my surname. I told her and started to spell it. She wasn’t really listening even after the 3 first letters. I said “D-O-S” she understood “D-E-S” and then I repeated. She just said “you know what ? Just send an email of your request” I asked her what I should do with my 24/7 access card, she didn’t answer and said something else. She just gave me the informations in less than 20sec, she didn’t make sure I understand or note the informations and hang up. No greeting or goodbye. Terrible experience, terrible customer service ! I know what I’m talking about, I work in customer service too. That’s a shame because now, I know that I would never go back to them if we need new memberships.
Positive experience: Be cool if they didn't just hang on people when you try to call them. A bit of phone etiquette training would be nice. If your busy, just put people on hold.
Positive experience: Old gym but filled with equipment. Best to come early early morning as the place gets super crowded super quick. Not great for anyone who drives to gym.
Negative experience: Just moved to the area so popped in to check it out, have since received 32 calls and counting from multiple numbers at all hours of the day trying to pressure us to join. Actually insane. Didn’t go in for the trial in the end because it just felt insanely pushy & desperate. Not the vibe guys. Be careful leaving your number! P.s. was super dirty, no wipes & cobwebs/dust everywhere when we did the walkthrough. Super weird, if you’re desperate just spend more time making your space more inviting rather than engaging in harassment.
Negative experience: Had a 12 months membership, was told on numerous occasions that they would stop taking payments after 12 months , then I look 2 months later and they are still charging me after my membership has expired and when I called they said I now have to wait another month before the payments stop due to a 30 day cancellation notice. Disgraceful
Fantastic experience: This gym is deceivingly large and spacious. There's a big cardio section with your step machines, treadmills, bikes (reclined and upright) and rowing machines. Free weights, machines, boxing area, cycling studio, aerobics room and a separate women's only room. Large and clean changing room and shower area. What I also like is their ready-made meal fridge section, which is convenient. Open 24-7.
Negative experience: A warning to anyone signing up - there are extra cancellation fees and minimum periods that they will not tell you about but then will secretly charge your credit card after you leave. After years as a member my partner gave them notification weeks in advance that we were moving but they secretly continued charging his credit card for a month afterwards without telling him. Try to get everything in writing from them - and I still wouldn’t trust what they say once they have your credit card details

Negative experience: Gym facility is good but cancellation is a joke, they keep rolling the month to month and then make you pay two months just to cancel. That’s ridiculous and unnecessary, literally every chain gym is better than them in this regard
Negative experience: I'm not one to write negative reviews, but this company/gym IS disgusting. My friend tried to cancel her gym membership due to her mental health not being in a good place, and they refused after saying "even with a doctor certificate they will not cancel because it's not physical!" The way they handle the situation, caused more stress and anxiety, it is not how people should be treated or spoken too. When you are promoting health you should promote it in every way, just because IT'S not "physical" doesn't make it any less serious. Accc will be called, because I am stunned that they have responded to somebody with mental health in this way. STAY AWAY.
Fantastic experience: great staff, Clean and updated machines, heaps of space and never too busy. Great cardio area also with multiple screens and vacant walkers, stair machines and X trainers. Cool vibe throughout and really good value membership
Negative experience: Untrustworthy and not helpful. After many attempts to cancel my month by month BLUEM2M membership, I finally received a 'cancellation confirmation' email which stated the final debit date. They are still charging me and have continued to since April till now (even during the period where the gym was shut due to covid) They deflect the issue, take no responsibility and still havn't officially cancelled it. This is how they treat customers who have struggled through covid.

Positive experience: It is extremely hard to cancel your Goodlife membership. If you try to cancel it through the club they divert you to DebitSuccess, which is a terrible place to deal with. Had an awful experience. If I was you I would save yourself the trouble and join a different club. The club in general though is good, staff friendly but the cancellation process ruins any goodwill acquired.

Negative experience: I received a text message this morning about "getting a head start on your summer body" however I have never ever gone to this gym before so I'm unsure how they got my number. I do not appreciate you pestering me when I haven't signed up for anything of yours.
Negative experience: REFUSAL TO END 2nd TERM MEMBERSHIP DESPITE MEDICAL CERTIFICATE In my second membership “term” with this club and post Covid have been unable to attend for many, many weeks despite trying twice. Initial staff member said it was okay to leave and I thanked her but Prahran Membership manager “Zanelle” rang next day, said that was an admin error and I was subject to exit fees and incredulously tried to recommend unsolicited health alternatives to me to try. NO THANKS. I’ll use a medical professional when I need that. Provided a doctor’s certificate and STILL told I have to be held to the contract. Told I can keep updating them with my medical information to have this reviewed. WHERE IS THE PRIVACY for people having to disclose to random gym staff your medical information Gym trainers are trained for their roles but this is crossing a line. Could never recommend this gym to anyone based on my experience with this team member’s inflexible approach through phone conversation and email. Still waiting on outcomes from emails requesting this to be reviewed. How do they honestly expect to build long term relationships with people after making them feel so disrespected.
Fantastic experience: I’ve just started here and found the joining up process extremely seamless. The staff were amazing and extremely helpful. I’ve gone to many gyms before and was so impressed by the community here. A special thanks the Andrew for his assistance, he was fantastic and a massive asset to the business!

Negative experience: So the gym is in a middle of a busy area and very hard to find parking... there's no dedicated parking for members!! I don't like how the treadmill etc are so close together in one section, just packed of 4 rows in one section, afterall not a good atmosphere to work out there. They have a lady's only training zone, I don't know what it's all about, maybe less packed with men sweat doing the heavy lifting?
Negative experience: Cancelled my membership 5 weeks ago, still got direct debited after the 30 days notice period finished. Called the club. The staff was unable to answer why I got direct debited at full rate for 5 times. Like seriously, how hard was it to count? The guy then blamed the girl that processed my cancellation 5 weeks ago that she got it wrong. Great team work right there. I've been a member since 2014. Glad I quit.
Negative experience: I have been a member of this gym for over a year now. I was wanting to cancel my membership today and was told they needed a 3 weeks notice which is pretty much how long i've had my membership frozen for. Long story short that time doesn't count which pretty much means that the cancellation fee is $60. What a rip off, lack of transparency, and lack of customer service. I'm never putting my feet at any of your clubs ever again!

Negative experience: Love this gym. Staff are super friendly and I like the vibe. But gym maintenance is becoming an issue. I've twice asked for someone to relabel the kettle bells which are always a mess and zero movement on the issue even though I was encouraged to fill out a silly customer feedback form which I did....seriously? It's 2022. Not so hard to buy a marker. Also Covid is still about and while I respect every individuals right to their own regime, the fact that the disinfectant bottles have mainly disappeared and some of the wipes dispensers are often empty is not a good sign... Especially when you can see they don't get that much use.

Positive experience: PAYMENT is easy, but any sort of cancellation or hold on your membership unnecessarily difficult. This club cares about your money, not you. But facilities are decent and staff are often friendly.
Fantastic experience: Its been my gym for nearly 5 years. Great space to train and has everything you need in a health center. Also has physio services, yoga and fitness classes. Conveniently situated just off chapel street and above rebel sport. Great place to train and experienced trainers available
Positive experience: Decent Space. Equipment is newish. Staff seem friendly enough. Front desk peeps are always smiling. The number of non lifting chumps on the gym floor is astounding though ♂️.

Negative experience: The aircon has not been fixed and it’s been over 12 months. It gets to about 40 degrees in the gym on a hot day. Multiple staff have claimed that they’re waiting on the aircon to get repaired. Surprisingly though, the area where the staff check the members in is cool. Outside temperature was cooler.
Negative experience: Cancellation was a nightmare, Staff were rude, made disgusting comments about my finical situation implying I didn't have any money even though I had cancelled my membership 8 months prior. They harassed me with calls and emails day and night for close to a year for money that was not owed. I had to threaten legal action to get anyone to listen to me and canceled my membership.Will never go near a goodlife gym again.
Negative experience: If you are thinking to join this gym please read the 1 star reviews carefully. Despite I cancelled my membership 9 months ago, I’m still getting charged by goodlife Prahran. Even though I have confirmation letter and email proof. Never ever sign any direct deposit contract with them. Gym itself just invaded by PTs at all times , capturing every inch of the place, they don’t let you train properly or relax. Just try to avoid this place if you don’t want an headache afterwards.
Positive experience: Possibly the best Gym (Prahran) I've joined in Australia by far. The process was smooth, quick and was an easy set up. The Staff are super friendly and was super helpful with starting up. No issues with fortnightly payments considering this was an issue I have had with Fitness First and Sea Baths, where payments were in-consistent and the communication was disappointing. The Gym itself had everything I needed. My favourite was the girls only room with the space I had in there was easy to get a workout done (in and out the gym). Definitely recommend for top service, incredible staff, affordable memberships (with amazing benefits). 10/10

Negative experience: Cancellation process has been ridiculously hard. Gave 30 day notice as requested then somebody sent a request to cancel my cancellation request without my permission its been almost a month now and i have to constantly call and email to follow up on the cancellation progress. 3 different staff members have sent email confirmations that my membership is now closed but continuously getting emails to say membership is overdue from their 3rd party payment company. Do not join this gym the equipment is old, the staff are useless, the gym doesn’t get cleaned at all. There are better gyms in the area dont waste your time being mucked around with goodlife.
