Negative experience: Went there yesterday, the old female that might be the manager was working there. Very disappointed, always been opening the door to the sauna without permission or warning, maybe she has uncontrollable psychosis? Was always yelling and accusing me of things that I did not do. That’s unacceptable and disrespectful to clients. Stay aware

Fantastic experience: Loved this place! Spent four months coming to Oceans Edge while in Palm Cove and it made our time so much better. The staff are super nice and welcoming, and the gym has more than you could ask for. All basic equipment, the beautiful outdoor pool with the views, the sauna, challenging group classes for all ages and a café. Can’t recommend it enough.

Negative experience: May be sound proof your boxing shed.. you have niebours. Dam annoying hearing slap slap thump thump..

Positive experience: The gym is very welcoming and has reasonable space but much of the equipment is old and held together with tape. The machines are jammed in too. The whole place needs a good declutter and tidying. The walls could go with a coat of paint. There are also a lot of old and nagging notices up everywhere. A fresh look at a tired set up would make this a much better facility.

Fantastic experience: All I can say is WOW! What a welcome to FNQ. We just moved from Victoria to the Northern Beaches and finding this gym has been the final piece that has made Cairns feel like home. The staff are beyond lovely, welcoming and helpful. The facilities are immaculately maintained and members very respectful of each other. You can just feel the community oozing out of this gym, which is what you get from a boutique vs a chain. My son has attended the creche 3 days in a row, and whilst typically a shy kid the warmth of the staff member who runs the creche allowed him to settle in immediately and he loves his hour of play time making it super easy & relaxing for me to get my workout in each day. The pool has the most gorgeous tropical backdrop, you really do feel like you're in paradise here.

Negative experience: Buyer beware of the 10 pass ticketed system they have. I will explain as they don't...in short my phone was stolen and my pass i used 4 times in it...they started its like cash you lose its all over..no good will..no compassion..jus take your money...buyer beware of 10 pass

Negative experience: I’ve been regularly visiting the health club since 2023 — three times a week — and never once had any issues. I’ve always been respectful. I’ve seen other guests bring speakers into the sauna, apply oil to their skin, and even consume alcohol, all without consequence. One day, I placed two drops of essential oil on a tissue and brought it into the sauna to improve the smell, which often resembles mildew or fungus. Without any official prior warning or conversation, the owner came in, pulled me out in front of everyone, and treated me as if I had committed a serious offense. I was banned on the spot. Even after apologizing and reaching out multiple times via message — explaining that the sauna played an important role in my life as a foreigner trying to build social connections — I received no reply. Not even a brief acknowledgment. I find that extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I’ve been a loyal customer and always tried to bring positive energy to the place. While I still think it’s a great facility, I’m deeply disappointed by the way I was treated. Ignoring someone who has consistently supported your business is not the way to handle such situations — especially when the intention was to contribute positively to the sauna community.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities. Staff are very friendly. Good 25m pool. Mens shower and change rooms good size. Sauna is shared and is good size. Over all this place is great to swim laps. Relax in the sauna after a days work.

Fantastic experience: Really nice and clean gym & pool. Gym has everything you need, and the staff is very helpful. Don’t forget to bring full size towel.

Fantastic experience: we came here for 3 days when we were staying in Palm Cove! they offer 1, 3, 5 and 10 day passes. equipment was clean and they had everything you could want in a gym. remember to bring your own towel though, otherwise a day rental is $4!

Positive experience: Good facility but fix your lane ropes so they actually show you the lane you are swimming in. Friendly staff and members for those that are visiting

Fantastic experience: Visiting on a short trip to Palm Cove and loved it. Met with such friendly receptionist and shared some great conversations in the Finnish style sauna. Left feeling rejuvenated.

Negative experience: Very expensive, few machines and the few cardio machines are always broken. No one ever comes to fix it. Totally abandoned gym

Fantastic experience: Small but entirely functional gym with free weights and machines. Classes area is large and has all the equipment, ie matts and weights. Need to pick your time or be able to adjust your gym workout as it can get busy. The 25m pool is excellent for that active recovery. Sauna is clean and spacious. Staff are very friendly. Limited amount of supplements held as well. Coffee is perfect!

Negative experience: Stunned by the attitude and rudeness of the receptionist. This gym is definitely not value for money and limited equipment and not for the serious gym goer.

Fantastic experience: Excellent health club. Well maintained facilities where cleanliness is a priority. Terrific friendly staff & management. Mature & respectful membership group. Options galore - pool, gym, sauna, variety of classes, cafe, table tennis. Highly recommended if you seek a quality facility & want to avoid the 'meat head' gym stereotype.

Fantastic experience: In all my years of using fitness centres this is the friendliest and most satisfying overall wellness centre I've ever been a member of. I recommend the club to young and old, beginners and seasoned fitness lovers.

Positive experience: Absolutely beautiful. Amazing scenery while swimming. We 3 adults only used the pool, but we walked through the gym area. Open, cool and very clean. Didn't use the sauna but the changing rooms, showers and toilets were spotless. Hope to go back again before we leave to go home. Pool was just amazing. Staff very friendly.

Fantastic experience: This has been my local gym for over 4 years and I love it. It hosts a beautiful 25m pool overlooking rainforest hills and the facility is incredibly clean. There is something for everyone and every age is catered for with a multitude of classes. This is an independently run gym and pool and you are always made to feel very welcome. Michelle and the team are amazing and can not recommend this gym enough whether you are a local or visitor. Give it a go! You wont be disappointed .

Fantastic experience: I was staying at an Airbnb nearby & it included the health club as part of the amenities. I was expecting anything & was pleasantly surprised to find the staff super friendly & helpful, a gym that had enough to get a good workout in, newly renovated sauna, & beautiful pools with lounging areas. Fantastic experience: I used the gym facilities on my holiday - staff were friendly, they were happy to help - even offered me the space of the fitness room as no classes on during the day. Really good option if you need a casual spot to go and reasonably priced casual entry. Thanks for having me :)

Positive experience: Visited here last week just to use sauna and pool area. The sauna is great! Temp was at a nice 70°C. Very well maintained and exceptionally clean. Staff were very nice and professional. $9 to access this part of the gym, $15 for the whole facilities.

Positive experience: Casual visit to use the gym. The gym doesn’t have a power rack/squat rack which was a bit of a bummer otherwise there was still enough dumbbells (up to 35kgs), weight plates & machines to get in an ok strength workout. Treadmill was on the smaller end, almost walker-like so the weight capacity is something to be mindful of if you plan on running on the tread. Facilities were clean, staff were friendly & the availability of the pool for a dip or laps as well as the cafe onsite were all an added bonus.

Fantastic experience: Just dropped into this place for a coffee after seeing the sign out on the street. Very modern, and if you are after a nice gym with a beautiful clean pool, then you should come and visit this place. For me, I was just after a coffee and a rest after a short walk in the neighbourhood. Coffee was nice, and hot. And there are some comfortable seats inside and alfresco, but shaded.
