Negative experience: We used to enjoy coming here for a swim on a Sunday afernoon as it was relatively quiet with many swimming lanes open. Over the last month they've introduced private pool party bookings which take up four lanes of the pool for most of the day. Now it's chaos trying to get in a swim in with crowded lanes, noise and unruly behaviour. The lane availability is also wrong on their website and they don't seem to care.

Fantastic experience: Great for exercising with the people I support

Fantastic experience: Nice afternoon swim, wasn’t too busy today. The pool was a great temperature and front desk staff were very helpful. The pool was well laid out with a dedicated lane to walking/exercise and slow laps. Look forward to returning.

Negative experience: A bit of a sour taste... Attempted to cancel my membership, as I moved house and can't attend anymore. A minimum of 28 days (two whole additional payment cycles) will be charged to cancel my "no-lock-in" membership, despite having been a member for years. It just feels like they're stealing. There is no justifiable reason for it - no ongoing service obligations to me, and no additional administration... The pool and gym are fine, but the business practices are questionable.

Fantastic experience: It wasn’t too crowded when I went, which made the whole experience more chill. Wouldn’t mind coming back for a swim or even trying out the health club side of things. Easy enough to get to, and they’re open until 8 pm, which is super convenient.

Negative experience: Disabled chairs base is angled in such a way that people slide straight off the chairs and are a serious hazard. They also don't have seatbelts, which again, acts as a serious hazard! I previously requested to have an incident report submitted in relation to such, but the chairs are still in service... Please remove these chairs and replace with safe ones. The place has good available parking. Only unhealthy food options are available (if it qualifies as being food). This is the case with most pools though, which is really disappointing. On the plus side, it has two disabled bathrooms, which is a big bonus for the disabled community. You can also apparently sling individuals directly into the pool. The place has two pools. One heated pool inside with a ramp and another outside pool, without a ramp.

Fantastic experience: I only joined in February and after setting up a weekly routine in the hydrotherapy pool and following a program from my physiotherapist feel much healthier and stronger. Good for my back issue and balance. Love the staff, always kind and helpful. Fabulous coffee too!!

Fantastic experience: Came here a couple of times for having a shower. Not the newest facilities but definitely still good and they even come with soap dispensers. And all for only $2! Very friendly staff as well!

Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed our visit to this pool. Took our little one here for a swimming lesson and staff were super friendly and the free 3-6 month baby swimming class was super enjoyable! Looking forward to our future visits.

Negative experience: The hydrotherapy area isn’t clean and staff don’t enforce the rules of the pool. There were lots of kids playing in the ramp area even as we were getting in and out with the wheelchair. None of the staff assisted. There were even adults filming. I don’t recommend Colmslie for hydrotherapy.

Fantastic experience: I had such a nice experience yesterday I had to comment. I was having a bit of trouble getting up out of the pool when a lovely young woman was walking by and dropped everything to help me. She was so kind and friendly and I found out later she is the general manager of the whole place. You don't meet people like that very often these days especially at my age. So down to earth and just a lovely young woman. I just wanted to put this review on your website as a thankyou to her. Her name is Jemmalee. Thankyou so much. Really appreciated.

Negative experience: I am a very fit and active person with a sporting injury. I went to the Comslie pool to use the indoor therapy pool for 20 min of exercise. Never again! I rang ahead so expected there to be lots of kids and families enjoying the facility on a Sunday. I could not even walk down the ramp into the pool without being kicked or bumped by kids. Parents seemed to have set their kids up there to play despite a large sign clearly stating that the ramp needs to be kept clear. When I enquired about this with two staff members, their response was 'it's the parents, they want their kids to swim there'. 'We can't stop them'. Basically it seems that their owns rules for safety for patrons can't be applied. Would not recommend the experience to others.

Negative experience: Dirty water. My son swan there for a swimming meet, he ended up having ear infection. He told me the water is very blurry. A very small pool complex, they should not hold any swimming meet or large events and yet they charge entry fee for parent accompanying a junior swimmer under 10 yo. It's a crime to charge the fee. Legally we have to accompany juniors. Rude staff shouting on us we get no where to stand due to very limited space. Sure we will not come back second time.

Negative experience: The Kids pool is better for young kid or toddler to come here, the water is too shallow for bigger Kid, when i come here, most pool laps have been occupied by swimming lessons, not much space for public to use, also same as indoor heated pool, indoor heated pool is too small, before go there, make sure you check the LANE AVAILABILITY

Negative experience: Terrible. I signed up for 6 months & couldn’t use it due to being extremely unwell for months, including being hospitalised. I spoke to a staff member in October & she advised me that the last payment would be debited on 25 October & my membership would end. Last week I discovered that weekly payments were still being deducted. I spoke to a staff member who advised me that she would arrange for a refund. Today, I spoke to a different staff member who back flipped, demanded a medical certificate from the hospital & then terminated the call when challenged. Absolutely despicable attitude & behaviour in the circumstances.

Positive experience: My wife and I have been coming to the indoor heated pool for some months now for exercises. My wife has had a knee replacement and need to strengthen her muscles and I need to to similar exercises to get my balance right. We come normaly just after 12 o’clock and stay for an hour. We walk forwards and backwards the full length of the pool. The fact that the pool is heated helps with the healing, but this week the temperature has been a lot cooler than the 32 degrees promised on your website. The electronic sign above the door shows 86, which I suppose is Fahrenheit. That equals 30 degrees C. The pool is not 30 degrees! We have notified the staff and they have come up with all sort of excuses and today’s were ”we have a new heater and it will take a few days to warm up”. The other problem we encountered today were, that now there are going to be lane ropes across the pool, which means that we cannot use the full length of the pool for our walks and also for swimmers, who has to turn more often in an already short pool. Now we are not alone, there are a number of elderly people (70 years +) who do the same thing. We are all not happy with this change, which we all voiced to the staff. We were told that it is only going to get worse with more ropes all over the pool. This is not suitable for us, as every time we have to make a turn you actually twists the knee, which is not so good for knee replacements, where they are forbidden to twist their knees. I don’t mean to complain, but who came up with this idea? Were there a survey done of the people who actually use the pool. I can’t talk for the physios who ’floats their patients’ all over the pool, but they will be majorly restricted as well, if lane ropes are put in all over the pool. We have learnt to avoid them, as they float around. They have right of way if you like. I hope you will not go ahead with this change and keep status quo. Now quite a few weeks later, we have to admit that everything is back to normal. The water is warm, about 32˚C and no obstructing lane ropes, other than when there are kids having lessons. We can live with that! So we are back walking in the pool nearly every day and loving it. Sad to have to complain about it in the first place, but everything is good now. Bo Westerberg

Positive experience: The facilities and pool are great. However, if over the weekend you are hoping to train, there are only 2 (out of 7) lanes allocated for lap swimming and kids are continuously crossing over the lanes. Or, they are building pyramids and jumping into your lane. This is really unpleasant and results in you having to stop and wait for them. Although the majority of the pool is allocated to free swimming, the lap swimming lanes are not regulated. This may be something they would like to review and ensure that those paying for lap swimming are able to do so.

Positive experience: Fine for swimming training, not so much for playing. Crowded little kids indoor pool. Would I go again? Yes!

Negative experience: Never enough lanes for lap swimming, there are always squads, parties or other things taking up most of the pool. Paid for visits that I could not use for a while through injuries, last six past use by date and I lost them, no compo. Go somewhere else if you can.

Positive experience: Heated pool, 50m outdoor pool. Staff seem nice. It's a pool not sure what else to say. It's wet refreshing and great exercise... definitely recommend if this appeals to you.‍♂️

Positive experience: Decent facilities! Nice outdoor pool... sunbanking isn’t terribly pleasant even on the concrete the ants eat you alive, don’t think that’s managed at all

Negative experience: This is a great facility. I love it. The only problem, and it is a problem, is that usage by members and casual swimmers is treated as secondary to squad usage. I turned up today and there was only one lane available for lap swimming. With so many people in one lane, it was impossible. Plus the website offers no indication of how many lanes are available - you turn up and take your chances

Positive experience: Have only been to the fitness centre so far, which is a small room facing the carpark for some reason. Has an average range and quality of equipment. Availability is usually good after 5pm.

Fantastic experience: Always a great pool to go to. Kids zone perfect from Toddler to 6-7 year old. Everytime I go it is nicely busy, not crowded. A perfect half day destination for our family.

Negative experience: Looking for an after work swim that doesn't involve being a drone up and down the lanes? Don't come here. There is practically no room available for casual bathers. The pool is 80% locked off to swim clubs or classes and it's not a big pool to start off with. This coming from someone who had a YMCA sandwiched between high school campus's and spent more time in the water than out of the water as a teenager. From what I was listening to it's more of a drill sergeant routine rather than encouraging treatment. Also heard some really freaky stuff happening in the males toilets during swim classes that was immediately reported to police. Also, the lifeguards could use a lesson or two in reality.

Fantastic experience: Great outdoor pool surrounded by trees. It's salt water chlorinated so it doesn't smell much which is great for me as an asthmatic. There are less lanes, but each lane is of a generous size whereas at other pools they squeeze in extra lanes so you bump in to people as you pass... which doesn't happen here. Usually busy in the morning but it's the same for most pools. Change rooms are segmented, rather than a big open space so plenty of privacy to shower and change, just need an extra hook behind the shower door.

Negative experience: Do not send your kids here for swimming lessons - they will have different teachers constantly and will only get moved up if it suits them for making groups. Classes are too big for the area available and the supervisor needs to attend a course in customer service. Her catch phase is I hear what you say BUT I’m right. Try somewhere else!

Negative experience: The gym is adequate but noisy. The woman running the gym is hardly ever at work so it is impossible to ever get help. The pool is fine but the changing rooms are given a rudimentary clean when they really need a good scrubbing. The staff at the pool and gym are a mixed bag, but generally too young and disinterested.

Negative experience: Both my sons and my skin was left very irritated after using the indoor pool on 2 consecutive occasions. Will not go back.

Positive experience: A decent pool, rather smelly toilets but not too bad - but always check if there is squad training as they basically close the whole pool leaving one measly lap lane for the public to swim in which is so congested that it is basically unusable. Exit and demand a refund if this happens to you - the centre never properly makes it clear that they clearly don’t welcome the public during these busy times.

Negative experience: Rudest staff i have ever come across. I pay for the service and i expect better customer service. You do not go and tell your customer that m busy and if you want to talk about your make-up class i don't have time. Soooo rude.. Well i am an educator and i will tell my experience to all the parents who come for swim in your pool. M sure no one would like to go where staff can insult and be rude with their coustomer. Thanks for running my mood and my day.

Fantastic experience: I can only vouch for the gym here (don't use the pool), but it's great! Clean, modern machines, air conditioned and pretty much every type of machine you'd need. Free weights (dumbbells) up to 50kg, barbells up to 30kg (or any weight if you use the Olympic ones), cardio machines, rowers and lots of pin load weight machines. Gym manger Colin is great too - and they have some pretty good prices too!
