Fantastic experience: This is one of many hidden gems of the west. I have been a member for many years and it's like a second home for me. The young staff led by Kye are outstanding. Very reasonably priced and great facilities. Would highly recommend. Only hope the council don't do anything silly and totally redo the place. It's great the way it is.

Fantastic experience: Great community aquatic centre with multiple pools in a really nice sports precinct. Ample parking and affordable to get into for a casual swim which is what I did. Clean, well managed and I will be a return swimmer.

Positive experience: Swim classes are great. Nathan who oversees the trainers and kids is fantastic and helpful to chat with. The team at reception are all great too. My only critique is that at times, there are long waiting lists even when you're kids move grades however, that's just part of a busy centre I assume.
Negative experience: This is a swimming lesson, hydro and baby pool only. Don't bother coming with older kids because they get a tiny lane no bigger than a swimming lane...all while half the pool is unused and empty of people! Madness. Waste of money and the toilets and changing facilities are gross. Photo shows the unused part just sitting there empty.
Fantastic experience: Nice community pool, fairly cheap entry and both cool temperature long lanes for swim training and warmer shallow lanes for low impact exercise. Seems to be aquasize/water fitness classes as well! Lots of people were participating and it looked quite fun—set to music and beginner friendly! There’s a second small pool reserved for water walking (no swimming) as well. Kids area open during the day. Several lifeguards on duty. Closed showers, clean toilets.

Negative experience: The centre is not bad, they recently refurbished the change rooms but lacked to invest in the actual pool amenities. Old equipments and not willing for the kids to have fun with the water fountains anymore. Also, the temperature within the pool area can be cold in winter, I noticed the heating is not always on (probably due to costs) and even myself feels cold while playing with my kids. 2 weeks ago my daughter was very cold but cannot talk as not even 2 years old, I had to take her out. Could be better if only they used the water fountains (kids love it) and they kept the environment warmer. The center in werribee is a couple of dollars more expensive but has better service and amenities.
Fantastic experience: We love Nathan for swimming lessons. Hes taught my daughter great water safety I feel so confident taking her swimming 10 weeks after the initally starting lessons for the first time. My daughter is 3.5yrs old. I also love the kids can stand in the pool and its not deep.

Positive experience: the others that speak of poor customer service are spot on, often rude and unhelpful staff.. thought about joining once or twice as I go to swim there sometimes, but they refuse to give you any prices, instead making you wait for ages to see some patronising 25YO whose job it is to take you into a private room and "sell" (strong arm) you into signing up for the most expensive program they can... No price list = no transparency... a total con, Also often have a long wait to pay on entry for a swim and the change rooms are usually disgusting.... not clean and there are just cold concrete floors, with no rubber mats to stand on, (like they have at practically every other swimming centre), which is just awful in winter...

Fantastic experience: I have always enjoyed Bayfit over the many many years I have been going there. They have a lot of variety in gym machines, free weights, Cardio equipment and some great group classes. I have always enjoyed the aquatic area as well.

Positive experience: Caution. Change Rooms currently undergoing renovations. Messy contractors had equipment lying around including corrosive chemicals and trip hazards. Poorly supervised.

Positive experience: Ive been using hydro pool for a couple of month's now,get a bit crowded at times but to be expected,just need to remind parents that unless children are recieving therapy in pool they shouldn't be in there with them. This seems to be a problem on weekends.

Negative experience: Hydro pool on the cold side. Very busy during the day on a week day. Steam room and spa crowded with regulars. Purchased steam room and spa,unable to access.....no room in spa and limited standing only option in steam room
Positive experience: Best place to go with kids in winter! I've heard swimming lessons are good here but my child only did 10days of swimming here in grade 1 and she loved it. It's not as hot and suffocating as indoor pools can get. Snacks and coffee on-site. I do wish we had a local public outdoor pool though! 4stars bcs there's no option for outdoor as there really should be!!

Negative experience: Website lane availability never up to date they have multiple lanes close which they do not allow people doing laps to swim sometimes having lessons sometimes empty. However they have no problem with people not swimming in all the other lanes while people are trying to swim. Tried to ring to enquire about lanes as website isn't up to date no one answers the phones.. .

Positive experience: The pools are nice and the staff are friendly and helpful but the changing rooms are in terrible state. Even the staff advise not to use the coin operated lockers in the pool changing room. In the gym changing area, at least a quarter don’t have doors and many others don’t lock. There aren’t enough wrist bands for customers to operate lockers so they provide lanyards that you have to leave on the poolside. You then have to walk dripping wet through the gym. A bit of maintenance would make a big difference.

Fantastic experience: Its a nice place to learn to swim and health fitness. Its reasonably priced. The facility is clean and staffs are very kind and friendly. I enjoy my time coming there. Its feel safe inside the facility and around the people coming in.

Positive experience: Not enough checking of wrist bands, i slipt fell on water on the floor- in the walkway behind a family that were dripping wet - all women, i said you need to tell front desk to clean this up your not supposed to walk dripping wet. They didn't care, only one member had a wrist band. They went to the member rooms like nothing happened. I went to the front desk, just got a sorry. Whilst the staff stood there not wanting to go and clean up the water (...there were plenty staff on), after i spoke to one lady, one mgr came up and said "what happened" i said im not repeating myself . Lots of non wrist bands in spa and sauna etc. The lockers ...in members area are broken / doors ripped off.

Negative experience: The new manager of the gym is a power junkie and he treats the gym like his own personal business and not a centre for the community. He runs the music so loud you can’t listen to your headphones, but when you try to talk to him he just gaslights you and says it’s the level it’s always been or it’s just the recording that is louder, but that excuse isn’t valid when it’s consistently high. It hasn’t always been a problem but when the gym manager has a big ego it becomes a problem. About time the management explained to him it’s not his gym and pulled him into line, it’s a community centre for the community. It’s disappointing to have to come to a forum like this because blue fit won’t address the problem.

Positive experience: Great place for a swim and staff friendly and helpful. Some simple maintenance would help. The Pool could do with a clean on the floor. Lots of rust marks. The general pool area needs maintenance. Perhaps a cover of "pool paint" or tiles, rather than crusty stained concrete would help. Look up you see the same issues... There is a seperate Gym and exercise options. Great place, good family vibe.

Positive experience: I go here casually but it's not nice enough to be a member. I don't know why the council is spending $300m to build a new facility in Altona instead of a bit of money to improve this one. The pool is dated and always busy. The hydro pool and spa is decent but not hot enough and the jets in the spa weak. I mostly go for the fitness classes and the gym as they are decent. Though I'm not sure why they ripped out the mirror at the front of the hall to put a giant tv screen on there, it's not very zen when doing yoga! Overall an ok facility and the staff are nice. You don't have anywhere else to go in this area

In regards to your concern around the screen in the gym facilities, this has been included to enhance our group fitness room. Positive experience: We really love coming here to use the pool, spa and steam room. However, a few things to note here. I found their gym to be outdated and the structure could be arranged better. Their main pool gets extremely dirty during the week, which results in me not feeling comfortable swimming and shortens my stay. It would be great if the cleaning was more frequent! Recently I have also noticed older kids in the free play zone swimming across other busier lanes and/or misbehaving while their parents fail to intervene. It would be great if the life guards could politely handle these kids as it is both a distraction and dangerous. Overall, a great facility!

Negative experience: Today I visited the pools and found all sand at the bottom the pool, I was walking on sand and my knees have scratches. My kids legs are all scratches and sore. Never going to this pool anymore. Not heathy my for kids.

We try to keep our pools as clean as possible with regular pool tests and encourage all patrons to use the on-deck shower before coming in for a swim. However, it seems that some customers may have come after the beach, that is why there would be sand. The pool chemicals and filters will eventually push this out however if it is excessive please let our on-site staff know so we can rectify the issue as best as we can. Thank you for your feedback
Negative experience: Bayfit is looking severely run down. The tiles at the edge of the children’s area look grimey and none of the water sprayers or sprinklers work. There was an orange construction bollard IN the children’s pool blocking off what I assume was a broken tile. Lifeguards standing around chatting. Dirty bandaids on the edge of the pool. Will not be returning any time soon.

Negative experience: My daughter has swimming lesson at Altona for a long time. Her lesson is at 11am. At 9.15 I tried to use the apps to book a makeup class for her and we are not allowed to do it. Called reception and been told that due to 2 hour notice we will need to pay and won’t be able to do any makeup class. Seriously my daughter just being sick from last night. How can I book a makeup class for her 2 hours in advance while I’m super tired too to help her over the night. This is unfair arrangement!
Hi Katie, we are sorry to hear about your daughter's health and we hope she's doing okay. Unfortunately, our swim school policies are that a class has to be cancelled 2 hours prior to it starting. You don't have to book your make-up lesson straight away but we need to know up to 2 hours before the lesson commencing. You can do this via the MyPortal on your smart device or computer. Negative experience: Fairly outdated facilities, changerooms small and a bit dirty, no sauna although advertised, just a small steam room and the spa wasn't really hot like you would expect. The front entry staff were really nice.
Negative experience: I'm bummed leaving this review because I was so excited to get a membership here. I took my step kids and we were having races in the pool. Someone made a complaint that the lanes were for laps only, no racing.. which, fair enough. We didn't know. The lifeguard came over and told us "Hey someone complained that you guys were mucking around racing instead of just doing laps so you have to move." There was still an empty lane, but again.. fine. My husband tried to lighten the mood by saying "Ah okay, no worries. Thats silly though because theres still a free lane. who complained? We can just move away from them... or harass them more!" He laughed and said he was just joking. I laughed and said "Sorry, they just finished their race. They still have the giggles. We'll move." The lifeguard smiled and said that's fine. I thought it was all okay. We moved to a different area and kept racing. Then a man came over demanding to know what was said to the lifeguard and his demeanor was just a bit much.. we were so confused because we had just been laughing with the lifeguard before... We weren't sure why suddenly we were being treated like that but honestly, it left a really bad taste in our mouth. We are the paying customers. We deserved the benefit of the doubt. If the lifeguard couldn't hear what was said, she should have clarified before it escalated like that. It wasn't awful.. It was just disappointing given we were paying to utilize their facilities and then made to feel like we were bad people for a simple misunderstanding. I won't be going back, but I hope they tone it down a bit for their future customers. I had been warned, but tried to give it a go myself. Best of luck.
Negative experience: I have been a member at the centre for over 15 years. It has slowly deteriorated. There are very few classes available for the Older adults. The App is useless, when they cancel classes due to no instructor there is nothing from Bluefit to tell people. Head office is in Sydney and have no communication with the members in Melbourne. I am seriously considering selling out other Gyms in the area, which is numerous

Please be assured that we are looking for new instructors for our fit and fabulous program however due to the impact of the pandemic this has been quite challenging. We do understand that there have been a small number of last minute cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as staff members testing positive to covid. Negative experience: Very poor and disappointing customer service. Our son was enrolled in swimming lessons, which was paused during the Covid outbreaks last year. In November, we saw a charge on our credit card for lessons, which we had not attended. I called the centre to discover that lessons had resumed but no communication had been sent to us. I expressed my disappointment and was told I was told over the phone that we would be refunded for those lessons because they admitted that it hadn’t been communicated to us. A week later, we still hadn’t been refunded so I called again and was told that a Sales Team Member had to do the refund and I would get a call back the next day. Another week later, I still hadn’t been refunded or called, so I called again. I asked for a manager, but was told they had left for the day. After the Christmas break, I tried calling again for a manager, but (yet again) they were not available. I was eventually told that I would not be refunded (despite being told in the first call that I would be). I requested the manager call me and I sent multiple emails, yet I have been ignored and never responded to. It’s the lack of communication and care from management that has frustrated me. There are many great swim schools in the area that actually care about the families attending, so if you are looking for a swim school, I recommend looking else where.

We remember discussing this with you and although we couldn't offer a refund we had an alternative option to receive a credit for the missed lesson which was declined. Negative experience: Most of swimming instructors are very inexperience. I had my daughter in this swimming school for nearly 5 years. She did not progress much at all. She did not even move two levels. Pool deck supervisor keep on telling me different areas to improve to move the next level. Never get any additional help if your kid is struggling. Even my personal experience for adult swimming lesson, the instructor IGNORED me completely, was not even teaching me. Overall very POOR quality of swim school and inexperience instructors. I would not recommend this swim school.

Negative experience: Would have thought during Covid they would have done some form up upgrading of the dirty and old tight bathrooms and perhaps expanded the gym. It isn’t a cheap membership for both gym and swim but I come here cause otherwise I would need to go all the way to city or sunshine. Came here at 6:30am and the pool had sand at the bottom of it along with floating mucas and dirt. Would have thought since the pool closes on the weekend at 6pm then by Monday morning it would have been all cleaned? If another newer place opened up nearby I would defiantly move as this place is better looking on he outside than the inside itself and its defiantly not worth its money. This place with a face lift and a good weekly clean would be great!
Negative experience: The facilities are getting dated. Peak times see the steam room and spa getting crowded and at times the heating for the water seems inadequate. The staff are bright and cheerful but it would be nice to see senior staff / managers out on the floor more often to lead by example and share that knowledge.

Fantastic experience: My experiences @ Bayfit have been entirely positive. I have found the staff employed at the facility very friendly, knowledgeable and supportive. I also find the location very accessible from either the freeway or a short trip down Mason street on the bus.

Fantastic experience: This is the right place to stay in training. Good for all ages, very good personal trainer and big sweeming pool. There are also courses such as spinning, pilates to book. Very happy to be a membership.

Fantastic experience: Great set-up with everything you need for fitness and re-hab. Little ones pool, Walking pool, 25 metre swimming pool with dedicated lap lanes, full time life guards on patrol. Physiotherapist and full gym facilities too. Large carpark
