Negative experience: Worst gym, without signing my money is getting deducted, it has been happening more frequently I have to chase up for my money. Never share your bank details with this gym they will keep on charging you fees for no reason

Negative experience: It’s been one and half month that I told them to cancel my gym membership. Because I’m moving interstate. And did all the paperwork.and they still keep charging the money. Because of that reason I have request my debit card with new card number. If you saying that you guys not doing it purposely. Go and have a look your comment section. Good luck guys . Don’t do these kind of cheap things.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! It has all the standard equipment and lots of extras to make training fun and functional. It has a great Vibe and the staff are awesome!! :)

Negative experience: Called and emailed to cancel my membership 6 months prior and I am still getting charged on my account. extremely rude manager it’s either her way or the Highway. Stay away from them. dishonest and unethical.

Negative experience: Love the classes available especially aerial yoga, Barre and yoga mastery. Booking classes is easy with their app. The instructors are lovely as are the office team. Super flexible with suspending membership if needed as well which is something not a lot of gyms are great with. Highly recommend giving it a go. Edit: I actually ended up having issues with the membership not being placed on hold correctly by a previous staff member. I also had major issue with the cancellation process as wasn't advised by the same previous staff member that I had to go in-person to cancel membership when cancelling my month-month membership over the phone. This resulted in being charged for three months of which only one month was refunded by the owner "as a sign of good faith". The membership terms on the website relate to NSW rather than NT consumer rights, and I wasn't provided a copy of the contract on sign up so was unable to check the cancellation terms to cancel the membership correctly. This was really disappointing as the classes were great, but ultimately I would no longer recommend this gym due to paying for a time I understood my membership to have been cancelled. Tip: If you want to cancel your membership including if you pay extra to only provide 30 days notice to cancel membership, you have to go in and fill in a form.

Negative experience: Good facilities but when I tried to cancel my subscription the local sales manager didn't respond. So I e-mailed an address i found online and even though I was told my cancellation was confirmed this local gym still continued to charge me without any kind of refund when I noticed. Keep an eye on your bank account if you sign up.

Negative experience: An absolute nightmare trying to cancel my “no lock in contract” membership. Emailed and went into the club over two years ago to cancel my membership, but they have just started charging me again and said my membership was “suspended” not cancelled. When I called to ask why I’ve been charged and advised I went into the club to cancel over two years ago, they conveniently can’t find my cancellation paperwork. Absolutely appalled, and promised a call back to fix it same day - got nothing

Fantastic experience: I really like the welcoming atmosphere at Fitness Playground. The friendly staff make it a great environment to workout in. The classes have been be fun and challenging too. So far I’ve done Shestrong and Badass which I’ve loved. It also makes it so convenient that the crèche is there to drop the kids off before my workout. The kids really like the staff too. Overall a great experience so far.

Fantastic experience: Such a great gym! We moved interstate and I had to leave this beautiful sanctuary behind unfortunately. Staff very friendly, personal and approachable. Very clean and modern. All the equipment you'd need. Can't recommend enough.

Negative experience: Worst gym service I have been in to. Called to cancel my membership which has expired 2 months prior. Gym kept charging fees even after advising the cancellation. Staff advised to come in and personally cancel the membership. However, staff on shift was not able to help at all. Called again during office hours and again, advised to come in to gym, AND AGAIN STAFF ON SHIFT DID NOT HELP AT ALL. From there, I kept receiving calls for payment in which I tried to resolve. OVERALL. Unhelpful. Gym isn’t that big, not much classes hence the cancellation of membership after expiry.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very friendly, extremely knowledgeable of equipment and how to achieve the outcomes your trying to achieve. I was very impressed with the amount of dumbbells that the gym has, never waiting around for equipment. It's great atmosphere and so convenient.

Positive experience: The machines and everything was good, but the only thing I didn’t like about this place was that it was very smelly, the machines and the bench were smelling very bad when you wanted to use them. Other than that an excellent place for the people who wants to stay in shape.

Negative experience: Free Trial will actually cost you $138. At the end of a 30 day free trial you automatically roll over onto a “Play” membership and start paying. Fine, no problems. Cancellation requires 30 days notice according to the terms and conditions (during this 30 days you’ll pay $138). So unless I cancel on the very first day of my trial I will incur charges. If I cancel on the last day of my “free” trial it will cost me $138. Feel sorry for anybody that’s been conned by this scam. *reply* Thanks for the response. I should have made it clear that I chose not to take out a membership as it feels dishonest to have hidden costs at step one. Your business, your choice, which is fine. Just letting people know that they might be in for more than they initially thought they signed up for.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym! I joined this gym for 8 weeks whilst I was on holidays in Darwin. This gym is far better than the one I currently attend in Brisbane. New modern equipment, crèche available, friendly staff and thriving activity. Wish I didn’t have to leave!

The layout is fantastic and equipment is very well kept, I was absolutely amazed doing my walkthrough to see not only how large it actually was but how clean and modem the rooms and equipment were. I will not go to any other gym again, extremely satisfied!

Fantastic experience: Been training in gyms around Australia for about 20 years & Fitness Playground at Gateway is hands down the best i've trained in. With plenty of equipment and space to use it, I never find myself waiting for a machine or weights which helps keep my sessions on track. There is also plenty of space so social distancing is managed perfectly! The staff are always friendly & more than happy to assist in any way they can, from a friendly smile on the way through the door to expert guidance on my form to improve my technique, they are always willing to help! Cannot recommend Fitness Playground at Gateway highly enough! 11/10 from me!! :)

Fantastic experience: Fitness playground is a great place to train. All the equipment you could possibly need and a great friendly atmosphere. I do PT classes twice a week with Jaime Moro who I highly recommend as he is very knowledgeable and keeps me motivated and Sets my whole week of training up through the phone app they have available.

Negative experience: Quick to get you signed up but poor customer service when you want to cancel your membership....

Negative experience: (Gateway shopping centre NT) Front desk girl was extremely rude, me and my partner came to have a look at price and a gym tour, when we said well have to go home and discuss the staff member proceeded to inquire multiple times and very rudely as to why and what would we need to talk about. When politely said we need to discuss things in private, and that we will come back within the week and proceed with signing up, she abruptly pushed her chair out very aggressively, got up and said ‘ you can leave now’ and slammed the door in our faces. Leaving us sitting there wondering what happened. I don’t usually make complaints or reviews, but this is the rudest we’ve ever been treated and it was very disappointing, we won’t be visiting again.

Positive experience: Nice gym. Good atmosphere. New equipment. A little more pricey than other 24hr gyms but a nice place to get fit.

Positive experience: I have only trained here twice as I work FIFO and don't want to commit to paying for a membership. Overall the equipment is hands down some of the highest quality and the staff were so friendly. It has plenty of mirrors and plenty of benches, the best part is the bench press bar holder moves back out of the way for you. Good job guys

Fantastic experience: New contemporary gym failicties. It's open 24hrs and has easy online booking option for the variety of classes available. Helpful PTs to book for one on one sessions. As a person who never really was a gym junky I am now converted. This place is inclusive and has a dedicated women's section.

Fantastic experience: Very happy with fitness playground. They cater for everyone’s needs. The staff are lovely. They are always smiling. Love this place you gotta enjoy what you commit yourself too. I’ve been to a few gyms and I was set in my ways but this gym is an eye opener. It shocks your body with continual surprises with the variety of classes and equipment. Which it needs to be able to strengthen. Doing a PT has helped massively getting the help I need to mind set focus on fitness as well as diet. Didn’t expect that at all. I’ve seen epic changes in myself for working hard. Each trainer has a different personality and training style to suit anyone. The members that I’ve been involved with are extremely lovely. So motivating. I’m there on a daily basis. I work in the Creche and I talk to a lot of people. Not saying all this to promote by any means. Couldn’t be happier with everything that goes on there. Attention to detail is tops. It is what you make it to be. Would totally recommend a trial period to find out what works for you. you won’t be disappointment if you make the most of it. Just stick to it and stay focused. Anything is worth a try :)

Positive experience: I did a commitment free trial in August, attended the mind-body classes which were great! Great sized room, great facilities and staff. My only negative comment would be that the mind-body studio could do with additional air conditioning.

Negative experience: Great gym, facilities are in good condition, they run a huge amount of good classes everyday and the vibe in the place is great. However, when trying to cancel my membership due to relocation it was a nightmare! When signing up, I made sure that I was not going to be stuck in a contract as my partner is a contracted worker and there was a high chance of us leaving Darwin at any point without much notice. The worker who signed me up assured me that there was a clause in the contract to say that if you moved 20km or more away from the gym then you were able to cancel your membership free of charge with a 30 day cooling off period! This certainly was not the case when going to cancel my membership. When I phoned up, the lady told me that I needed proof of being relocated (a utilities bill or employment offer). As it was not myself who was relocating due to work, I did not have this. I rang the gym and asked the lady if a one way flight was enough and she said no! After careful investigation into the contract I signed and was provided with, it stated that a one-way flight was more than acceptable! Not only this, but when I went in to cancel I was told that two payments had defaulted from three months ago! Not only was I not made aware of this when they defaulted, but my account on my Fitness Playground App for the entire three months had a total $0.00 balance owing! I had only had a payment come out the day of cancelling so that covered one of the defaulted payments, and I paid the other on the spot. I received a call from Fitness Playground a week later saying that I still owed them a week. I assured her that this had been finalized an she said it was all okay and she would sort it out. I am STILL being debited for the membership! Their all well and good while you're a customer, but when it comes to honoring their membership cancellation procedures it's a nightmare.

Fantastic experience: Not your average commercial gym. This place has an amazing atmosphere, supportive and friendly community. It offers a variety of classes and high quality equipment. If only the best will do, this place is for you.
