Genesis Health and Fitness Smithfield

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for over a year and it has always been great. No complaints about the place. There's a good range of equipment to use, it's not overly crowded after dark and the facilities are always clean and in working order. I suppose the only downside to regularly attending after staff leave is that special folk treat the equipment poorly, leave weights lying around, and don't clean up after themselves - which of course, is no fault of the gym whatsoever! Highly recommend Genesis!

Negative experience: Moved away and wanted to cancel my contract. Emailed through their website stating I wanted to cancel. Told they would contact me with 3-5 days. Received no phone call. Found six months later that I was still getting payments taken out. Rang and asked was told very condescendingly that I should have read the contract better. That six months of payments or a $200 cancellation fee was necessary to leave. Read the fine print before joining. This crew love you to join but harder to leave than a cult.

Positive experience: Good gym, small but well stocked with equipment, unfortunately some of the customers are smelly and staff do nothing about it, its off putting dor the customers that dont smell if overpowering BO.

Fantastic experience: Very good experience I met my target weight in just 2 month thanks to the trainer (Kelly and Brodie) who encourage me every time to improve my health and stay fit. Since I moved down Brisbane I am missing that gym and their training as well. REALLY MISSING ...

Gym is extremely clean the cleaning lady (Sorry I don't recall her name) does a great job. Plenty of space and equipment. All the best for 2021..

Fantastic experience: Great gym, has 24/7 hours which is extremely convenient so there is no excuse to not go has so much equipment to choose from whether that be machines, free weights or cardio. They recently added a extra space for classes which has a ton of new equipment and has been ultra handy!

Fantastic experience: I first was interested in joining a gym, recommended by a friend so called Genesis at Smithfield I made an appointment. Such lovely people on the phone. Met Kelly who greeted me and was very warm and friendly. Signed me up straight away. I came into the gym for my first session. So clean and a large range of equipment, the bathrooms were so clean and easy to move around the gym at my own pace. Highly recommended Genesis Smithfield.

Fantastic experience: Great gym for fly in fly out. 24/7 access and has a freeze option for when I’m away. The recently expanded CrossFit area is excellent and I’m looking forward to joining in on some classes. Thank you to all the helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing gym, kept clean and organised, good equipment, no faults in the equipment, perfect placement of the equipment but, I do suggest maybe adding a punching bag or something similar but besides from that, the gym is probably the most organised and professional gym I’ll ever see.

Fantastic experience: Wow, great staff and facilities. Coaching zone is amazing, everything you need to learn the lifelong skills of keeping yourself healthy. Membership here is an investment in your future health.

Negative experience: Despite telling me I could pause my membership via the app, they failed to mention I needed to come in to do it as well. Thinking it was suspended when it was not and now having to owe money while I was away for 2 months. Gym is also outdated and over priced for what it offers.

Positive experience: I can complete a good workout here. The equipment is a bit older than the Genesis clubs in the city but the hours and bottom of the range location make it a good option for me.

Negative experience: Scummy operators - told me I was putting a deposit down on my access dongle but refused to give the money back on its return. Also start sending unsolicited email that you can’t unsubscribe from as soon as you join.

Negative experience: Caters for guys who love to build muscle and admire each other. Not for women or normal guys. Equipment is poor.

Negative experience: Small, old equipment and way overpriced for what it is. Active is cheaper, larger and has better equipment. Have also heard of sneaky fee's where members get charged 100's of $ a week because they signed dodgy paperwork.
