Positive experience: Spent a few hours at the pool on a very hot day here in Gympie. The facilities are top notch; clean, loads of space, nobody swimming on top of you and best of all there is heaps of shade. Only improvement I could suggest is lower the price of the waterslide ticket and also the food and drinks prices if you want people to purchase from you. The cost of entry was exceptionally reasonable. Love to see a better value yearly pass - we'd be keen if offered.

Positive experience: I visited the town pool today as it's just too hot to exersize anywhere else. It's a great facility with modern lockers, toilets and change rooms. 2 main pools, one indoor heated, a slide, kids wet area,cafe and an amazing gym. $6.40 entry and $4.40 concession.

Positive experience: Closes at 5pm, slides even earlier circa 4pm

Fantastic experience: First time visiting with my family. Wow .. such a great investment for family to enjoy on hot days. Our grandkids love it so much. Our two under 4years LOVE the water slide and interaction with other kids their age. Gympie is very fortunate to have such a wonderful recreational facility. The maintenance cost alone per annum would be hugely significant and I’m sure the entrance tariffs per person would not even cover a quarter of the cost. However thank you Gympie Regional Council for such a facility. We shall be returning again. Kingaroy resident and rate payer.

Fantastic experience: Pool is great as usual! It's cleaned very often and the life guards are always on duty No wait to get in and the price of entry isn't bad

Fantastic experience: I live in Brisbane and visit family in Gympie regularly. We always make a trip to the aquatic centre every school holidays. The kids love it! Great facilities, clean, and mostly quiet. Particularly love the extra pass for the slides. Whilst this is an additional cost, it is still very affordable and worth the price. Only letdown on our recent visit was the food. We used to look forward to enjoying the hot chips, however the supplier must have changed and they are quite disappointing. Unfortunately we no longer purchase food anymore which is a shame. This won’t stop us from returning through as we really appreciate this venue and the other facilities it has to offer.

Negative experience: The customer service is so slow and lack of communication. No apology for keeping customer waiting so long (35 mins) just to update the new bank card details.

Negative experience: Membership prices are too high can not afford on a pension. Heated pool is always cold and broken. I contracted multiple ear infections during the last two years of my membership. I have not seen a deep clean since the 2022 floods. Green algae lines the edge of the pool too much chlorine.

Had to pull them out of the pool and take them back to facilitate that which was a bit painful. All in all not to busy pools seem clean.

Fantastic experience: Love this facility. We have travelled all over Australia & this is one of the nicest we have been to!! We were in Gympie on a 12month project so we joined the membership & took advantage of all the programmes that they offered. Amy, Taylah, Harrison & all the counter staff were so friendly & helpful. Good job Gympie ARC going to miss you

Fantastic experience: Superb swimming pool, I thought I was in the wrong place when I saw the outside wall, and the lawn inside is neat and clean, the rest area is awesome for lying down or sitting, I can spend whole day here.

Positive experience: Swim and Gym package is great price and includes access to group fitness classes. Gym is well equipped and has a friendly environment. Choice of indoor or outdoor pool. Water play area for the little ones and two water slides for the big kids and adults. Staff are friendly and helpful. Tables or grassy areas for sitting. Bring your own food and drinks or get something from their shop. Always nice and clean. Wheelchair access to change rooms and indoor pool.

Fantastic experience: All round the Gympie Aquatic Centre is great. Kids love going there, staff are friendly, and facilities are well maintained. It’s hard to fault the place.

Positive experience: Half of the splash pad wasn't working/ going so for the younger kids who were too young or scared of the bucket and slide didn't really have much to play with or under otherwise it was ok to cool down in the pool.

Negative experience: Live close by thought we would go for walk and get coffee were charged to walk in even though we said we've just come for coffee. We paid we're told just in case we need to use the toilets so we used the toilets before we left we thought we might as well since we've paid toilets smelt and needed cleaning. Absolute disappointed with service and outcome. Will never go back and have mentioned to many people to give them a heads up. No wonder they're not busy.

Negative experience: Disappointed. I was told a couple of months ago when coming to swim that on my fitness passport my 12 yo son could come into the gym to use cardio equipment as he has been very keen to get motivated to get fit. We were told he could come in with me, today I was told no, he has to be 13.... we were keen to come together for a small workout and then swim after. It's not like I am going to just leave him to workout, he is only 12. He is a tall and solid 12 yr old too and has selective interest so this would have been perfect. Well at least my regular gym has said he can come with me for small sessions to help him get fit.

Positive experience: Facilities are second to none. Great amount of shade which seems to be lacking at a lot of places like this. However I do not understand why you need to pay extra for the slides, everyone should get access. Today I asked at the front gate if I needed a wrist band for the slides (as my kids were using slides) and was told no. Then when I got to the top of the slide the lifeguard was quite rude in telling me I could not go on the slide without one. My kids were extremely up set I couldn’t go down with them and the expectation was that I walk all the way back down and then go and pay for a wrist band. Quite frustrating and should have been handled better, lifeguards in general quite rude to adults/parents. Service in the cafe is slow and today wasn’t even busy, so would hate to think if it was. Many staff walk past without even acknowledging that your waiting. I could have walked out without even paying for the iceblocks if I really wanted to.

Negative experience: Very un happy with the gympie pool I have been a few times now and none of the things for kids are working you pay to play I the water park and nothing is on or working it has gotten very slack wast of time and money not happy very bare

Very affordable entry fee for families with young kids. Wonderful water play area for small kids, with a huge bucket that pours water every 2 minutes. Really comfortable seating areas and a great little cafe, nice coffee. Change rooms were very pleasant and showers nice and warm. Very pleasant staff. Super responsive life guards, who are actively supervising and happy to redirect misbehaviour in teens, for everyone's safety. Excellent facility.

Positive experience: I'm not sure who is responsible for maintenance but it is very lacking. Out of order toilet with mulched paper all over the floor. Staff very polite and helpful. Still on card only a bit much at this stage.

Negative experience: Beautiful clean facility but staff doesn’t know what they are doing. Very poor management. Some of the staff very rude . Child had to wait for 10 minutes looking for teacher. Don’t choose this place. Waste of money and time.

Positive experience: Attention to everyone who would like to visit this place! They only allow 4 children/adult!!! You have to be in the water at all times with a child who is 5-6 years old and not taller than 120cm tall. You can’t watch them from the side of the pool you must be in the pool!!! Have to pay for slides separately. Will never return as this place is ridiculous.

Positive experience: Awesome $1.40 cheaper than others. & there are 4 pools, 1 inside. It's great for my fibromyalgia pain that can be quite crippling for me sometimes, 1 big one outside, 1 buba one & 1 slide & bucket that dumps water on u, I wish I was little enough go in that one. There are plenty of beautiful & clean hot showers around. & a gym if u like that sort of stuff. The staff are friendly, kind, cheerful & happy to answer any questions.

Positive experience: Always the nicest staff members. Very clean,love going there it's a great place. Jill the swimming teacher is so amazing with her lessons and understands every kid is different I love that. If anything just needs a parents room as most the time the disable stalls (which have the change tables) are full makes it hard with the little one.

Fantastic experience: What an asset to Gympie. Well done!! There are so many amazing activities within the Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Large under cover heated pool, the 50mtr pool with some shade and wheelchair access ramp. The adventure water area with smaller slide and low level water for the little ones. Water slides for the bigger kids(be prepared to pay a little extra to use the big slides) There's a gym, BBQ area, food available at kiosk + more. Lot's of parking available

Fantastic experience: Amazing..... two pools, the largest an outdoor one... the smaller but still a large pool, indoor. Two side by side waterslides, one open the other a tube and then an area of fountains and slides and tipping buckets etc.... all beautifully landscaped with a separate gym.... very extensive and very well built covered areas joined together by an amazing covered walkway system.... has a 60's design feel about it. There is a canteen that sells coffee, lollies, chips etc but the chips and coffee weren't very nice and even though all the staff were lovely people they need some organisation behind the counter and it was apparent to an unqualified eye that the lifeguards couldn't be relied on to be at all the facilities watching customers, especially children at all times.... so go with your children.... don't rely on lifeguard supervision.
