Negative experience: Went to try it for a 7 day trial period which i was told was worry free, wont be charged for it. Was happy with it but decided to cancel on the last day while fully considering re-joining again in the future. I called them and they told me all good its been cancelled. The following week I got charged $23.99! and then again next week!! Its been 3 months since then after following up again and again apparently waiting for approval from their manager for the refund! Just called them again and its still the same! Apparently its because I was never sent an email confirming the cancellation was done, even when i actually called the branch to cancel my membership. This is actually ridiculous, scamming people for their money. Absolute sham of a gym.

Fantastic experience: Love the Goodlife Gym in the city - it's small entrance definitely hides floors and floors of space, and well-maintained equipment! Really enjoy my PT sessions with Dylan too, where he keeps me motivated, is professional, knows his stuff (and he's happy to just roll with my somewhat quirky personality ;P). Highly recommend signing up with him!

Negative experience: Not impressed. Mistakenly booked Pilates for Weds 7pm instead of Thursday 7pm. Immediately call to cancel the Weds booking as it’s within 2 hours. Call 4 times.. on the 3rd time the call is answered but phone is left to the side. For 3 minutes I listened to two females (staff) having a discussion and constantly using the “F” word. Nice. 4th attempt at calling a male answers, tells me he’ll ’put a note’ on my booking. No CANCEL the booking made in error so I am not charged $10. Absolutely not impressed with anything that just happened. Is this the image Goodlife want to portray?

Negative experience: I came there with my boyfriend to see the gym which was pretty nice and new. This guy showed us the floors and despite I was there looking at the gym too he was only talking at my partner. Asked him a question he didn’t even looked at me or answered to me like I wasn’t even there. At some point I just give up and started to use my phone. At the end he showed him the plans and insistently was telling him to enroll that day .

Negative experience: Good gym and classes - a bit cramped going up the different floors, my complaint is you advertise sauna and steam room, but the steam room is out of commission forever and ever. Should not be advertised if not working we pay for a service

Fantastic experience: Decent gym in the middle of the city. The location super convenient. The equipment’s solid, but the place can get a bit cramped during peak hours. If you go off-peak, it’s a good spot to get a proper workout in.

Negative experience: In general nice space and the reforms Pilates is nice but if you wanna train your glutes here I can not recommend . This gym isn’t well equipped for it though

Negative experience: The star tells everything i guess. The app went down often, hard to log in they say my detail was invalid even tho it’s not, that made me couldnt freeze my membership. Few months ago, they took my money for no reasons a few times, like my money got debited even tho i didnt miss any class. They said to put back to my account but idk, i hope they actually did. The pilates class was so so,found a lot of places with better ones. Just wanna cancel my membership actually but they said theres a fee so yeah, so guys just find other gym, not recommended at all.

Fantastic experience: Staffs at the front desk don’t greet you on your way in, which I like. Staffs at other locations who greet me made me feel they have ulterior motives (e.g: upselling).

Positive experience: Would be better with a Leg Curl Machine... Leg Extension and Leg Curls go hand in hand in a program... please look at getting a Leg Curl Machine! lying hamstring machine is not the same machine!

Negative experience: Every other month either the sauna or the steam room is off because of technical issues. They keep saying they are fixing it but they never do. The general conditions of Goodlife clubs is terrible, many of them are outdated and dirty. This one in particular has no AC in the pilates room, which makes it ridiculously hot. The Pilates room is hotter than hot yoga session. And my list could go on and on. The Pilates routines are ridiculous and always the same. They repeat the routines every week. Just save yourself time and money and do not join.

Negative experience: Quite nice facilities on all levels, unfortunately is not inline with the other goodlifes due to it not being 24/7. Thr main thing that caused the 2 stars today is that on their website it does claim to be open today at 8am-12, arrived at 830am and it was not open. Pretty disappointed when I had already drinken my pre workout and was ready to workout when instead I had to bus to west end instead :(

Negative experience: I used to love coming here - it was absolutely the best goodlife in the city. Now the staff members completely ignore you, but greet just people they want to. The curly lady is always lovely and super polite. The PT are absolute idiots not respecting your space, besides 2 of them who are absolutely the best guys. Needless to say I am about to terminate my membership after years.

Fantastic experience: I LOVED this location when I lived in Brisbane Years ago and prior to the Pandemic when the Gym also was under a different Ownership. I’m sure that Goodlife has done a good Job with this property and I hope to return to Brisbane asap from The United States. Do You still have the Downstairs on the 2nd Floor and Upstairs on The 3rd Floor Astro-Turfed Areas and sleds? I absolutely loved that about that Gym. I absolutely adored the Views while Exercising and even though I at that time was focusing more on Power and all out Strength; I can see myself spending a great deal of Time Running in one of your Treadmills or using a Stairclimber with a great view of the beautiful CBD Streets below. A great compliment to this location is the surrounding Area’s offering in the way of good quality Restaurants albeit many Years ago when I last was there. I lived in Sandgate at that time and found the commute easy by Train walking only a block or two from The Rail-Station to the front Door of your Gym, for those Commuting and Who might be wondering as that actually was easier for Me than Driving. I loved this Gum when there and again look forward to rejoining upon my Arrival and hopefully seeing You soon! Is there any consideration by Goodlife Corporate to participate in Hot Sauna Cycling and Hot Pilates much like Hotworx in The United States as I’ve not found anywhere that really does that? Just a thought and something that I’ve been trying to find for my return to Brisbane in the near future.

Negative experience: Glad I used a free session to check out this gym. No air con where they run classes, so I won't be joining. Their classes are run in a large studio on the top floor, but on my attendance, I was advised there is no air con for the space. The rest of the gym is cool and comfortable, but the studio was hot, stuffy, and they only use fans (before the class). You can see air conditioning vents on the ceiling; it appears they have chosen NOT TO air condition this space. Bummer, I thought I had found my new lunchtime yoga place.

Negative experience: The place should be renamed Fitness Museum. When it first launched, it was a ‘Platinum Club’ and offered state of the art equipment and facilities. How the mighty have fallen. So much potential, with a great location and space, and it was wonderful to have electronic locker systems (which have now been decommissioned in favour of ‘bring your own lock’). That is where the positives end. The upper level boasts an impressive collection relics and broken down equipment (including numerous treadmills with ‘out of order’ signs, exercise bikes that do not power on/have cracked screens/water damage/are in a different language, rowing machines that make a very sick noise when in use). Computers that used to display group fitness timetables and the time haven’t been working for months. Some TVs even display a Windows XP screensaver if they are ever switched on (which no company should still be operating, and this in itself is a major security concern). The main clock on the weights level that fell down and shattered has never been replaced. Some handy (and cheap) acccesories like ab wheel rollouts and half round rollers no longer feature around the gym. The place is always a mess, smells, has equipment and used wipes left all over the place and no one to clean it up. Air conditioning is underpowered (or turned on low to save money). Classes have been cut because more innovative brands have taken customers away (F45, Atora, Bodyfit, Fitstop, etc). Reception staff hate their jobs, and would not be missed if they were replaced by a swipe machine or robots. Some are so efficient and like to turn off the air conditioning, music, TVs and clocks 15 minutes before closing time. Management are no better and have little pride in their gym. All the quality personal trainers have left (apart from Dexter) and replaced by a bunch of new kids. Seeing a PT on the floor past 6pm is a rare occurrence. The Studio XT room was wasted space and did not get used by anyone (there are two massive studios on level 3 which is sufficient). Instead of knocking the wall where the mirrors currently are on level 2 in front of the Studio XT and extending the weights area (along with a few pieces of new equipment, which would be a refreshing and much needed addition), they decided to open up a Pilates Reform Studio to try and leech more money from members. The gym is missing key equipment like stair climbers, seated calf raise, glute press, etc like every other basic gym has. Other Goodlife gyms have multiple stair climbers, so anyone with half a brain and some initiative would consider relocating some of the equipment between the gyms so that all bases are covered. They lent 30 kg weights to someone during COVID and these were never returned. Please replace them. Is it too much to ask for all clocks to show same time in the gym? The music (when it is working, at time of writing has been offline for 3 weeks), is most depressing, especially listening to useless adverts and hygiene/COVID notices. Other gyms have huge screens with people undertaking motivational workouts, more upbeat music, and overall better atmosphere compared to the cemetery vibe you get working out here. The hours of operation are embarrassing (especially closing at 12pm on a Saturday and closed completely on Sundays). They try to push members to Edward St, which is in desperate need of a refurb itself and possibly one of the worst and oldest gyms in the country. The rot has being going on for years. If you want to see how a real gym is run, take a visit to somewhere like World Gym in Stafford or any EMF. It is just a pity none are close to the CBD (yet). Anytime Fitness have just opened new facilities in New Farm and Post Office Square, EMF are inching closing to the CBD with a new gym scheduled for Fortitude Valley. Fitness Cartel are doing some great things. One would hope Goodlife has plans underway for a significant refurbishment of its current premises. This gym should be the flagship with new equipment and the existing equipment can be moved to Edward St to improve things there.

Positive experience: Great, clean and up-to-date facilities. Friendly staff and amazing PTs. Equipment is spread out nicely so it doesn't feel like a crammed factory mill. Edit: Well they were clean, but the toilets on the top floor have been pretty disgusting for a while now, with one toilet apparently blocked for months. Also the cleaners often take shortcuts and often don't refill the soap or sweep under the benches.

Fantastic experience: Elizabeth street gym is hands down the best Goodlife I've ever been to. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, and the gym itself is spotlessly clean with a wide variety of equipment. Training with Julles has been an amazing experience. He's a kind, funny, and hardworking trainer who always incorporates core exercises into our sessions because of how much I end up laughing. He even makes leg days enjoyable! Sorry to the other gym users who have had to hear our donkey laughs and terrible jokes. I highly recommend signing up with Julles, he's fantastic and will help you achieve your fitness goals!

Fantastic experience: It’s been a few months since I joined a membership and that’s the one of the best decision I’ve ever made this year. Nice and bubbly receptionists and trainers, brand new cardio machines, and variety of machines for training. Also really happy with reform pilates class here the instructors are really passionate and professional. 10 out of 10!

Fantastic experience: I would like to congratulate the team at Goodlife Elizabeth for having one of the best reformer Pilates programs around. I have experienced quite a few and can hands down attest to it being an exceptional fitness experience with the best trainers, facilities and progression catering for anyone of any age or ability - you tick all the boxes and more. I am 57 and love my daily fix and it compliments perfectly my fitness routine which includes strength, conditioning, cardio and boxing. Fantastic experience: Since I moved closer to the city. This has been my club. It has everything I need. It could be busier at times, but everyone is very . Nice separate sauna to finish the workout.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Julles, and he’s great! After two free sessions, I signed up as his client. He focuses on hypertrophy training and really tailors the workouts to my goals. Julles is great at explaining things and keeping the sessions fun and challenging. I’ve seen amazing results in my strength and muscle growth . Highly recommend Julles if you need a personal trainer!

Fantastic experience: They only make about 50 announcements between 7.00pm and 7.55pm that the gym is closing at 8.00pm. The announcements should start much earlier, like at about 10.00am, and they should be made every single minute, extremely LOUDLY, just in case someone forgets that the gym is closing at 8.00pm. By the way, what time does the gym close?
Negative experience: Great location, needs a deep clean ASAP. I'm all for an old school gym, but this is just a rundown gym. Flat yoga balls, dirty equipment, dirty floors, gross bathrooms, furniture is worn, and machines need a service. This place needs some TLC

Fantastic experience: This gym is fabulous, great music, equipment and trainers.
Positive experience: I find Goodlife is very male orientated, I’ve tried a few. If you are older you are not noticed. Which I find horrible, customer service is not great. The atmosphere is quite unpleasant.
Negative experience: On 30th January, I requested to downgrade my membership from Platinum Plus to Platinum and extend the length of my contract, ensuring the total cost remained the same. Aiden promptly sent me the Contract Variation Form (CVF), which I returned the next day. On 31st January, Mia confirmed it would be actioned. Unfortunately, this was the last piece of efficient communication I received, resulting in an ongoing journey of frustration. By 15th February, after being overcharged for three billing cycles, I reached out again, only to be informed by Ruby that the CVF required higher authority approval, which hadn't been obtained. Promises were made to reduce my rate ASAP, but these were not fulfilled. Subsequent emails on the 20th and 23rd of February, highlighting my frustration with the lack of action and communication, went left unanswered. My request to cancel my membership on the 29th February, due to these ongoing issues and breaches of contract, also received no response. Further attempts to resolve this issue through phone calls were equally unproductive. After being promised callbacks that never came, I finally spoke to the club manager on 4th March, who was rude and dismissive. Despite repeated calls to follow up on the 5th and 6th, 7th and 8th of March , I was met with excuses about the manager's availability to get back to me and a complete lack of accountability. The manager’s decision on the 4th March to pause my membership payments while he "escalated" the issue has now left me unable to train for over a week. It's now 11th March, and after being charged incorrectly for 5 billing cycles, a membership that is now suspended, and more than 11 attempts to follow up on a simple request made in January, I'm still without a resolution. This experience has highlighted a significant failure in Goodlife's customer service and operational efficiency. To anyone considering joining, I'd advise caution and suggest looking elsewhere if you value responsive and competent customer service.
Negative experience: Four-storey gym, only one leg press machine, one leg curl machine, and one leg extension machine, that's ridiculous. you pay to use the machines in gym otherwise buy couple of dumbbells in the comfort of your home.
Positive experience: friendly staff. great facilities ans space. always hand cleanser and paper towel around . though very unkempt toilets. paper towel on floor and upstairs gets very hot. But overall it's good value for money this one and staff are friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: Staff need a skills upgrade Why have staff on reception, if they can’t actually help with anything? You’d be lucky if they stop chatting to each other to acknowledge paying members as they arrive, let alone if you need assistance with anything. Group fitness instructors aside, who are great, no clue why the other staff are even there.
Negative experience: Owed a refund? Good luck! After continuing to withdraw money from our bank account for three years, and after two written requests to cancel a membership (which to be clear wasn’t cancelled) it has taken two months to receive a partial refund, we’re still waiting for the remainder. We were advised the refund would take 5-10 business days. The partial refund has taken 40 business days and still waiting for the rest. The centre ‘manager’ Gil doesn’t respond to emails, or return phone calls. When he finally paid the courtesy of responding to an email, he complained he was dealing with two different systems, and the refund would eventually be paid in two parts. So his problem is now our problem? This gym is all about signing you up, but when you need some customer service, it's non existent. Don't go here is the simple message.

Negative experience: Should be a great gym, but have whittled down services over time, dirty showers - and be mindful of membership packages - they’re super petty when it comes to anything re fees!
Negative experience: This gym seems amazing because they got 3 levels, but not really. Most of the equipments are in good condition, A few equipments you can’t see the weight number. The gym in general is clean, just the change rooms are very dirty. Staff seems bored, every time you walk in they don’t look very happy, And the most annoying thing is that from 7pm to 8pm they announce in the mic that the gym is closing. WE KNOW THE GYM CLOSE AT 8pm. Announce a few minutes before you close is ok, but you don’t need to announce every 15min. So annoying
Negative experience: For love of God please DO NOT go to this gym, the only thing they are offering is ripping your bank account, my membership ends at the beginning of September 2023 and they still charge me lots of non sense reason. I hate going to Goodlife

Positive experience: Good gym lots of equipment it is set over 3 floors which is different. The change and shower / change rooms are a bit dated and impractical in some regards otherwise great.
Positive experience: Best gym in the city. Wish it was 24 hours. I love the 3 levels. Spacious areas available to set up your own workout. Squat racks are of great quality. Only improvement would be the toilets in the women's area. Some of the doors don't even shut so you can't lock it. Love the Sauna and steam room. Classes are perfectly set up with great equipment. Only improvements needed is better music, sometimes there is no music. The bathrooms need to be updated.
Negative experience: Would not recommend this gym. Facilities are very old and need updating desperately. I don't know how they get away with calling it a "Platinum Gym". There are still even signs for Fitness First around the lockers despite it being a Goodlife now. Staff members are rude and not helpful, its like they are doing you a favour by deigning to be there. Save your money and go anywhere else. I'd give zero stars if I could.
Negative experience: Ok they’ve fixed the music issues here which is nice. But the gym is incredibly busy on weekday peak hours; there’s also a very rude personal trainer who hoards up to FOUR different spots/machines/benches in the morning. Just utterly frustrating. The gym must have like 50+ people on each floor in the morning and there’s this one person hogging 4 spots. He should be banned.
