The University’s campuses are equipped with facilities and services that will meet the needs of our students now and into the future.
We are continually investing in state-of-the-art buildings, programs and services to maximise your learning, social, cultural and leisure experiences.
More than just buildings full of books (although we have those too) the University’s libraries are vast, interconnected sources of knowledge, with extensive online databases, spaces for individual or group study, and knowledgeable staff who are ready to assist you.
KU Children's Services childcare centres operate at Newcastle (Callaghan) and Central Coast (Ourimbah) campuses. Most are community-based centres that are open to the general public as well as staff and students.
Bikes can be stored in one of the two types of bike storage racks available. The racks are allocated on a first-come basis and any locks left on racks without bikes will be removed. Bikes left in the hubs for over a week will be removed.
Callaghan: Bike Hub East is located at the front of the Student Services Centre, whilst Bike Hub West is at the front of the Social Sciences Building. Click on the campus map to view the location of the bike hubs, or to find one of the dozens of bike racks located around campus.
With locations in the heart of Newcastle and at the Williamtown Aerospace Centre, you are perfectly situated to make connections with the right people, while having access to your own space and top-of-the-line facilities to develop your business.
For international students, UON Global are the team dedicated to ensuring you make the most of your time not only at the University, but in Australia.
The Library MakerSpaces are safe spaces on campus, providing students with a place to escape the rigours of study and explore, design, experience and build through self-creative and self-directed learning.
The CESE MakerSpace within the College of Engineering, Science and Environment (CESE) is open to all students to work on projects, collaborate, share ideas, and problem solve.
The City Makerspaces, consisting of the Print Lab, Prototyping Lab and Textiles Studio, provide commercial-level resources for students and staff within the School of Creative Industries and I2N Members.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
