Sydney Pole (Parramatta): Opinions
Negative experience: I travelled a bit to attend their free trial. I enjoyed the trials and got told that they have a 5 week class starting. Signed up for that and joined the class only to find out that the class was already ahead and I technically shouldn’t have been able to sign up for the class. This left me with the only option to sign up for the 10 week class, attended that class which I was told it’s beginner friendly only to then find out students were doing more complex movements and the instructor mostly focused on her performance and students that were able to do those performances. Decided to not continue anymore due to full time studying and work commitments and requested a refund for the remaining balance (I only attended 3 classes) only to be told their policy states no refunds. Would not recommend this pace as there is miscommunication and instructors are not beginner friendly and due to their lack of “policy” flexibility.
Fantastic experience: My free pole class with Siren was amazing she's very professional, patient helpful & friendly .And love her Teaching Techniques . Thank you so much Siren ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic experience: I’ve been learning Lyra sporadically for years but never made much progress until I started classes with Castalia a year ago. She spotted all the mistakes I have learned, rectifying them and helping me grow. I look forward to her Lyra and hammock classes every week!
Fantastic experience: Very positive environment that accepts anyone! Great way to meet new friends and be inspired to learn more :) I especially enjoy lyra and hammock classes with Castalia. She motivates us to do our best and always puts our safety first. She starts the class with so much energy and always has a class plan with her students goals in mind. I'll keep going as long as she teaches here.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been on my Lyra journey for a year now and have seen so much growth in myself and strength wise as I have been consistently taking Castalia’s classes. I do Lyra and recently started Hammock with her and love it. She cares for all of her students growth and is so proud when we reach our goals and is there to celebrate with us and encourages us to expand ourselves to the best of our abilities. She is hands on and is always happy to go at the pace of her students and not rush through the syllabus. I personally have been blown away with how much I’ve grown and developed and it’s all thanks to Castalia’s classes.
Fantastic experience: I have been doing random classes for a while and was not seeing much growth. But for last 2 years I have been consistently taking Castalia’s classes. I do Lyra and Hammock with her and love it. She really care for her students growth and doesn’t just focus on teaching syllabus for short term. She gives amazing conditioning exercises that even the elite students find very helpful in training. Just in 2 years my training and skill has become unrecognisable compared to before I started taking Castalia’s classes.
Negative experience: Took a lyra class where the instructor was loud and consistently foul-mouthed towards the students. Frankly unprofessional behaviour and created a very unwelcoming environment. Highly disappointed in the quality of staff. The studio itself is tiny. There are only four hoops so they have to be shared. I'm giving it two stars because I've taken classes with other instructors who have been a lot more pleasant, thankfully. I can't imagine not even greeting new students and dropping f bombs at them. Utterly appalled.
Positive experience: Very welcoming space of all kinds of people (sizes, colours, fitness levels, etc). I started my aerial silks journey here - Saskia is an AMAZING instructor! Hilarious and informative at the same time whilst being respectful and approachable. In full transparency, there are poles in the way that USUALLY aren't an issue, but it becomes a bit more of a concern with more dynamic moves (which are taught later on). The height is just under 4m, and the mats are ~15cm thick. This studio does well for beginners and low intermediate as far as aerial silks goes. There are also only 4 rigging points, which is a pro and con. Pro: You get rest time (arguably a con if you don't need the rest). Con: You may be sharing with someone (arguably a pro as you get time to discuss or watch your partner ... or your own personal cheer leader haha). Despite all this, I'd still go back just for Saskia's lessons :) They have showcases each term which is a big plus. If you're starting or considering aerial silks, I'd recommend this space.
Fantastic experience: Pole dancing is so much harder than it looks. A fun way to exercise. Great teachers
Fantastic experience: As a plus size girl starting Pole was intimidating, I was super scared going to my free trial and almost didn’t show up but now I’m so happy I did!! Straight away after my trail class I signed up and fell Inlove! It’s intimidating trying something new but the teacher I had was amazing and so supportive it made me want to come back! My next class I had a different teacher who was just as amazing! Both women I’ve had classes with are beautiful and amazing at what they do! As a teacher(education) myself i found it beautiful how they help their students, they are so supportive and actually hype you up when you do something it boosts confidence for sure!! When there was something I couldn’t do because I just couldn’t grip it no mat trees how hard I tried they were supportive they didn’t just ignore me they tried to help me do it and explained why it’s not working so I can learn from it and practice to work towards it! Had they not of been as amazing and supportive as they were I probably would have been too scared to come back but here I am excited waiting to see just how far my pole journey will go! Thank you guys for having such an amazing supportive team who are wonderful teachers❤️
Positive experience: A good range of aerial fitness classes to choose from, instructors are lovely and cheerful. You’ll meet super friendly and supportive people in the class. Just the space is on the tight side if you are doing Lyra/silk classes(might kick the pole)
Fantastic experience: Nice people!
Fantastic experience: I began my pole journey at Sydney Pole and have been loving it. An extremely encouraging and supportive environment both from the instructors and classmates. Facilities are clean and look awesome with all the coloured lights! Plenty of parking either in the carpark or on the street. What I love most is the large variety of genres and classes to choose from - and can attend the other Sydney Pole studios as a perk of membership. Would highly recommend anyone to attend if they are looking to try pole for the first time, or continue their pole journey!
Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my experience. I traveled a fair distance to attend a free trail class with a friend. When we got there no on at reception and we had to sit and wait for 20 minutes before someone finally came out and told us our class had been cancelled. The lady who had come out to tell us our call was cancelled was rude and condescending and made me feel very unwelcomed. Very disappointed
Negative experience: The disrespect that this company has shown is Frankly upsetting. a friend an i signed up for a free trial, we wanted to learn and see if we liked the place. we travelled a fair amount to get there. when we got to the appointment the instructor was no where to be found. we were told later that the instructor had not wanted to come in that day. (we were the only 2 new people there) After this they proceed to text me advising that we missed the appointment. 2 days later they send me another text on the same number advising that we had taken the class and to review/rate them. Dissapointed in the customer service. dissapointed in the company. *Shame*
Fantastic experience: 5 stars for the instructors and staff at Parramatta branch who are always so lovely, welcoming and ready to help. What you have heard about pole is true and if you are looking to start I highly recommend these guys. Pole will be the thing you look forward to in your busy week!
Fantastic experience: Excellent!! I'm an unfit, bigger girl, but I didn't feel awkward and I had so much fun!!
Fantastic experience: Loved it
Fantastic experience: This is my happy place, the community we have at this studio is so welcoming it's like coming home to family whenever I arrive.
Fantastic experience: I started at Sydney Pole a year ago and have never looked back. Pole Dancing is so much more than just grinding against a pole, it requires strength in all areas of your body, a gracefulness and precision that works it’s way into other areas of your life. It gives you a closer connection to your body, understanding how your body works and moves and helps you gain a sense of timing and movement. The dances are a fun, creative way to get your cardio fix and you’ll find that while ‘dancing sexy’ may feel awkward at first you’ll gain so much confidence in yourself and your body as you progress. The classes are all different so you’ll never get bored and stuck in a routine that eventually leads you to quit. There’s bound to be a class for you. The tutors are all beautiful humans with years of experience and will never make you feel out of place or uncomfortable. I 110% recommend Sydney Pole to anyone, ages, sizes etc looking for a fun, new way to get fit.
Fantastic experience: Joining Sydney Pole was the best thing I've done in a long time it has boosted my confidence and makes me so happy I love coming to my classes once a week. Highly recommended...join the pole family you won't regret it
Fantastic experience: A newbie to the studio but not too new for pole. It’s hard work, challenging but rewarding. I saw my body toned up by all the pole classes I had and it’s just so much fun learning and trying out the moves. I would recommend pole to those who want fitness with something different! You will be surrounded by the most encouraging teachers and dance mates ever, and I find them here at Sydney Pole!
Fantastic experience: Amazing!! So much variety in classes, staff are so kind and in our aging and the students are lovely and are all like minded, makes it easy for beginners to feel so welcomed, Made some new friends and I feel so confident about myself. Not to mention after doing it for 6 months I already have a 6 pack that’s beginning to appear. Funnest workout yet :)
Fantastic experience: I love Sydney Pole. The community is so friendly and supportive and there are so many class options to choose from. The teachers are really patient and supportive and willing to work with individual skill levels.
Fantastic experience: Love love love the staff at Sydney Pole North Parramatta, they are super friendly and so encouraging not just with words but with their support and the way they talk about their students and what they achieve not just individually but as a class. The classes are so clever and the instructors tailor the class so you can achieve the goal you’ve set out to achieve. A lot of variety in classes in the way of dance, fitness, Lyra and pole techniques. I was scared when I first went thinking the worst and wow I was so wrong, it’s nothing like what people think at all, the studios are fantastic, really funky and fun. The Manager who is the most beautiful person has even taken my 16 year old under her wing to represent the company in Junior division competition, the confidence she has given my daughter is something I can’t thank her for enough. I highly recommend Sydney pole to anyone who is wanting to see the proper side to pole fitness and the fun side to pole dancing.
Fantastic experience: Love the different styles of classes, enthusiasm and support from the instructors, and the fact I leave each class encouraged and invigorated despite my lack of coordination and flexibility!
Fantastic experience: Just finished your book, I have so enjoyed the honest and well written work, you have the life I (and I am sure many others) can only dream about, well done you for going out there and getting it whilst everyone else sits around dreaming, your next challenge Suzie is growing older, I promise you it is not for the feint hearted. Love your yoga classes, THANK YOU !!
Fantastic experience: great instructors, friendly and fun learning environment, safety guarenteed. been poling at suzie q pole studio for three years and have visited other studios, suzie q pole studio is for sure the best and my favourite.
Fantastic experience: Great teachers and a great place to learn new skills. One of Western Sydney's best spots to fly and dance.
Fantastic experience: Amazingly supportive and positive environment for self expression through dance and improving fitness. So much love for this place ❤❤❤
