Zap Fitness 24/7 Mowbray: Opinions
Negative experience: It was a really nice place, but now that the frosting has been removed it’s a horrible experience when you go later at night. The area has a problem with really dodgy people, and no one wants to get leered at or have the finger shoved at them, pictures taken and rude gestures made through the windows when you’re working out.
Hi Grace Thank you for your feedback We have had no complaints at all about any of our members being leered at or singled out. If this has happened, please contact us so we can investigate further. If any of our members feel threatened, we do have emergency pendants in all of our clubs
Negative experience: Steer clear of here - they have renoved the privacy screens. Zap's denial of the fact that this is dangerous in the replies here is telling Not sure how they think its more inviting or welcoming ??? They are completely out of touch with reality unfortunately ! I used to enjoy exercising here but i cant handle it any more. When i drive past it home at night I look at it and my heart sinks about how frightening it must be to be in there at night. Even shiploads next door has frosted glass and their not even a gym .... Join if you want but you need to know that you will have ZERO PRIVACY here when it isnt light outside like if you want to go here before or after work in winter ! I suggest only considering signing up after they bring back some sort of window cover like the frosted screens. Here is a new response they could use instead ) The removal of frosting is an unethical business decision where we don't care if our clubs are a bare and unsafe place for all members to attend and believe this change will help us achieve these results. Overall feedback has indicated a strong opposition for this adjustment, but our delusion is that it will somehow contribute positively to the member experience. Not hating i just want the best for everyone Please zap
Negative experience: I have been going to this gym for well over a year now and have always enjoyed my experience here. However the recent removal of the frosted glass is clearly hated by many people and myself and I believe it is the worst possible business decision to have ever been made. Even though you all believe that it would contribute positively and creating a more welcoming environment, however I just don’t see how it could be a positive change, even if it was it would only be for a very small minority of people. As many people including myself no longer feel comfortable working out knowing that people can just look at us from the outside and this is especially true for women and the younger members that are trying to workout and just have creeps that can stand outside and stare at you. This can also be dangerous especially at nighttime when there may be less people around leaving us feeling more vulnerable. I have a feeling that the management didn’t even think to consider how the majority of its members would feel, nor was there any warning or notice that this change would occur to allow members to voice their opinions on this change. Because of these decisions I will most likely be changing gyms once my contract has ended.
Thank you for your feedback. Negative experience: Original; My sons have used this gym for almost a year. Initially the gym was good. However the gym management made a decision to change key tags. I've read the generic responses on these reviews and whilst they claim that they've gone completely digital that isn't the case. They still give keys to selected members and goodness knows what the criteria is for being given one. This also has NOT stopped non members entering the gym and using the facilities. There are a couple of people who go there and regularly preach religion to members and use amenities. They just enter the gym with other people who are members. Also one of my sons is a vulnerable person and doesn't always have a carer with him so the removal of the privacy film on the windows has made him really uncomfortable. He's starting to look at obtaining a membership elsewhere. If you want the place to seem more friendly, put a smiley face on the window! As for the vending machine, that's an ongoing issue and management has been informed on a number of occasions. Their solution was to remove the product and leave the broken machine there. Edit (reply); a typical, head in the sand response. As if security would arrive in an instant, that would take HOURS! And read other reviews for not only for this Zap Fitness but others - people (particularly women) are very uncomfortable about being exposed to the general public, some feel unsafe and they don't feel like they should be put on display to promote your gym. One could even argue that this breaches your contracts with members. And regarding the key; one of those mentioned does not own a smartphone and has been continually stuffed around trying to get a key!
Hi Louise With Digital access the only members who are receiving fobs are the members whose devices are incompatible and are unable to use the app or they have a work device. Unfortunately, we are unable to control members letting nonmembers in but when we check security we do contact and fine members letting non members into our clubs. At any time your son feels unsafe please get him to use the emergency station and security will be called The removal of frosting is a business decision where we aim to have our clubs be an inviting and welcoming place for all members to attend and believe this change will help us achieve these results. Overall feedback has indicated a strong preference for this adjustment, supporting our belief that it will contribute positively to the member experience As for the vending machine it is getting removed as it has been damaged, and drinks stolen Happy to go over any other concerns if you would like to call us on 1300 927 348
Negative experience: I took pictures of all the dirty areas and equipment in the gym because I wanted to show the owner, but I can't upload them in a review. We paid to get healthy at the gym, not to get sick.
Thank you for your feedback. Please email them to [email protected] so we can pass them on
Negative experience: Used to look forward to going to the gym now these days I dont because due to the frosting being removed I dont feel as comfortable as I used to. It kinda feels like a zoo enclosure now and I .think Members should be treated better

Negative experience: I've been a member since January and I've been here a lot. It was a great gym, but now not so much. 1) You use to be able to get in via a key tag, but now the only way to get inside of the gym is via phone access which I have to buy data just so I can access the gym or it won't work. The membership is already expensive without having to pay for data just so I can access the gym I already go to. 2) I'm not sure what's going on with the vending machine, but it's been empty for months. This gym needs an upgrade like the one Kings Meadows got. 3) The window frosted seals have been removed. There's now no privacy for members and it's potentially dangerous as bystanders can now stare at you from their cars at the lights and pedestrians can stare at you while walking past. It's made it all that much easier for people to stalk you and make you feel uncomfortable. The last thing I want to do when doing painstaking exercises is to be watched by onlookers near by, that's almost akin to getting watched by someone while your in the shower, just no privacy.
Hi Zano 1) We have moved to digital access as the panels with fobs were unreliable and often caused access issues. Fobs were also getting lost and non members were using them for access. Digital access is more reliable, and most people have everything on their phones. 2) The vending machine is not the property of Zap if you are having any issues please contact the number on the machine. We have called the supplier several times to refill 3)The removal of frosting is a business decision where we aim to have our clubs be an inviting and welcoming place for all members to attend and believe this change will help us achieve these results. Negative experience: Been going here for a few months and liked it but went in today and the frost-privacy screen has been permanently removed. NOT a fan. Used to go to gym in the evenings after the rush but won't do that again - definitely don't feel safe being in the gym now. Don't like that people on the street can watch women work out and don't like that someone can see if it's quiet, and know when you leave. Don't feel safe walking out to my car after a workout now. Obviously a decision made high up because the privacy screens from other zap gyms in the area have been ripped off too.

Negative experience: Was a great gym, manager Ryan is awesome, but someone in head office made a knee-jerk reaction to rip off all the privacy screens and now the whole world can stare in at you. May as well not be a 24 hour gym because I wouldn't risk coming in late when the lunatics outside know you're in the gym alone.
Hi Thank you for your feedback.
Negative experience: The gym is just okay, not great. I'm not complaining about the equipment, but the toilets and machines are really dirty—even the floor is dirty. Even the logo is really dirty.
Thank you for your feedback I will pass it on
Fantastic experience: Great gym Ryan and the other staff do a great job of keeping the place in tiptop shape.
Thank you for your feedback
Fantastic experience: friendly staff! And plenty of fitness equipment to choose from. They also have amenities (showers / toilets) also have filtered water to drink.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your 5 star review :)
Fantastic experience: My name is Latai Maile I’m originally from Tonga but moved here a year ago. Zap has been a very helpful place for me. A friend of mine introduced me to Zap. I’ve always wanted to go back and do my exercise, but I don’t like doing it alone by myself. I rather exercise with someone or in an area where other people are exercising, because it motivates me to keep going. This is my second week at Zap, and I feel healthier than ever. I will continue going to the gym to keep me healthy. I’m grateful for my friend Katea Faka’osilea for motivating me and also my husband for keep supporting me each day. Thanks Zap❤️.
Fantastic experience: Amazing. Evening you would need in a small gym
Thanks Lily :)
Negative experience: They're using a ruthless debt collect for $880+ and I've never been there . It's not over . I have a team of barristers too.
Negative experience: During the signup process, they push you to have a long-term contract and will never tell you what type of contract you're having. But when you want to leave, they will show you their true colours and try to take as much money from you as possible. So I will not recommend them to anyone; instead, seek out someone genuine.
Fantastic experience: Clean showers and toliets. Friendly and helpful staff plus good equipment.
Fantastic experience: Clean, neat and tidy. Very convenient.
Positive experience: The equipment is getting very worn out, the carpet has holes in it and it is small and pokey. It can be very busy at times making it difficult to access some machines. But overall it is alright. It conveniently located and has plenty of parking with a reasonable range of machines.
Positive experience: Great facilty. Very well looked after. It will be employing a personal trainer in the near future to help with exercise plans
Positive experience: Open 24/7 i can workout whenever i want and/or feel like it. Located round the city and, in my area, only a block from home. I try and go to the gym three to four times a week if I can and the staff there are super nice and helpful
Fantastic experience: Great gym. One of the smaller zaps but has all equipment and some that some of the larger zaps don't have like bicep and tricep machines. My local and my favourite.
Fantastic experience: Great start to the day and week!
Positive experience: Gym is well equipped and operates well, 24hr access for members is also a great
Positive experience: For a gym it's great, for a zap gym it could use some work. Often has work needing to be done and things waiting to get repaired but that's not really anyone's fault. The service is great and the clientele are really good in my experience. Has it's busier times but generally not too bad.
Positive experience: Quite busy in this gym as all the ones around launy are. It would be great to have a few more leg machines, but space is the issue...
Fantastic experience: Great gym, good vibe, clean and helpful staff. Parking right at the door.
Positive experience: Needs free wi-fi so 4 stars
Fantastic experience: Great gym and not to crowded
Fantastic experience: Love working out
Positive experience: Good equipment, 24 hour access at a low cost is a plus.
Positive experience: What can i say, it's a good gym for what i want to do.
Fantastic experience: Easy access to all equipment and a great vibe.
