UniSA Sports Centre (Mawson Lakes Campus): Opinions
Fantastic experience: Always great
Positive experience: Cool place, they normally play badminton here a lot. People ranging from a wide variety of skill levels play here often and at peak times an even match can usually be made, although it may take some time for the court to be available. It's always best to call and ask about their schedule for the day, sometimes their website needs an update or a court may be booked. One thing that sucks is that the amount to play has drastically increased. Paid play (one time pass for a single session) used to be $5 for the public, now it's $7. And badminton club fees went from $60 to $100 for the whole year, which is still valuable, but pricey for a one time payment.
Negative experience: We went to UniSA for social badminton on Fri. It was 4:15pm. The staff said it would open at 5pm. We were surprised and frustrated as we checked the website on Wed and it said the playing time from 1-6pm on Fri. The staff said it has changed recently due to other booking. We have planned in advance other stuffs and couldn't wait until 5pm and ended up going. We learned the lesson: The social play time is not reliable and can change in last minute so better play at other places.
Positive experience: Small space but clean and occasionally not too crowded. Love the tennis courts available there. The main court is usually busy due to bookings.
Fantastic experience: Love to play badminton there
Positive experience: The gym has most equipment that you need, which is good. However, it is quite small and can seem crowded if there are around 10 people inside at the same time.
Fantastic experience: I love its badminton court. I wish fewer people come here though . The gym also has plenty of utilities. Not as many as Pridham Hall's gym, but still plenty for someone with a big belly like me. But lazy me already stopped going to gym. Badminton is better!
Fantastic experience: 8 April 2023 Ramadan After
Positive experience: Spacious
Negative experience: I came to social badminton session on Fri 27/1/2023. The courts were very windy due to the air conditioning fans, which badly affect the shuttlecock flight path. I requested the fans to be lowered for the court where I was playing but refused by a staff named Simon. I told him I requested many times before and all other staff helped me. Simon said today was hot so he could't do that. I told Simon I am ok with that and he just needs to lower the fan in my court. He said look at you, you are hot, and he refused to help. I kept mentioning that badminton is not possible in such a windy environment. Simon said that is not matter unless there is competition. I asked to see the manager there and Simon said he is the highest manager there. I ended up filling the form to get back the money and playing at another court. I am very disappointed with the customer service that Simon provided.
Negative experience: Normally I don't review any businesses, but today I felt it would be preferable to do so in order to get this organization's notice and encourage greater improvement. Today, my friends and I visited the campus of the UniSA Mawson lakes, Badminton Unfortunately, there are more than 20 players waiting to play on the two courts that are available. Myself and a small group of people repeatedly beg the staff to set up a different court for everyone, but they don't bother because nobody is using it. It's not fair if you guys have only 2 courts and collect money from more than 20 players. No one wants to wait less than 40 minutes to play. If this happens again, I won't suggest this location because there's no purpose in wasting your time and money. No one will come to play there if you guys keep generating money like this. I hope this will be noticed by your staff and management. Thanks.
Negative experience: The overall place is nice with good facilities but there courts are very !! dirty causing not just mine but many other players shoes slipping.
Fantastic experience: Awesome space to play squash. Friendly and accommodating staff
Fantastic experience: Really convenient to go, nice environment. Lower prices for Squash and other courts higher
Positive experience: Es aceptable, pero las duchas falta más mantenimiento
Positive experience: Great! You can purchase the cheapest membership if you are current UniSA student
Positive experience: Comfortable setting just off the road. Appears to be considerable pride in the upkeep of the area. Food quite reasonable and a number of other products available for sale.
Positive experience: Has the staples. But nothing special.
Negative experience: Terrible gym, very small and not enough equipment, unless you do your entire workout in the power rack. The one cable machine needs more attachments
Negative experience: Not enough information
