Negative experience: I was a loyal member of Snap Fitness for a decade when they decided to up my monthly fee from $55 to $85, hoping that I wouldn't notice that new members only pay $75 (don't expect to be rewarded for loyalty here). 'We have upped your fee to reflect the upgrades to our gym' was the excuse. The weight room now looks better and the cardio/class room has definitely been improved, and saunas have been installed... except I'm not allowed to use the sauna (the gym's main improvement) unless I pay an additional monthly fee for Gold membership, even though I'm already paying more than new members. No mention of Gold membership anywhere online, a blatant money grab. Who knows how much the monthly fee will be next year. On the other hand, Laverton Swim & Leisure and Ascot Leisure Centre charge $25 and $35 a month, never raise their fees, have a sauna and (unlike Snap) they have large swimming pools while also been similarly (if not more-so) equipped with massive weight and cardio rooms including a boxing section. They are quieter, offer free swim lessons and have heaps of parking. Turn your back on greedy private run gym and support council run gyms.

Positive experience: The gym manager was lovely and helpful. The gym was nice and clean. Lots of great equipment and areas to work. I was after a week pass but it was just a bit hard for them to issue one due to the gym being a franchise. Day passes are $20 but the downfall with this is you can only go when the gym is staffed. But overall, great experience. Would go back if I want to train after 10am

Positive experience: Vault dwellers. This gym is for you. Key card gets you through top secret basement gate and to the gym vault. Nestled inside is a great workout facility with tons of options of machines and equipment and it’s actually spacious. However, when you’re done with your workout there is only 1 shower available.

Fantastic experience: The best gym in the west. Can’t compare with other snap Centers. I go to Snap point cook but it’s nowhere match to the one in Altona. :(

Fantastic experience: I’ve been into this SNAP a handful of times now, and every time I leave with a huge smile. The staff here are top notch and a special mention to Ingrid who is the loveliest gym manager ever, she creates a fun and safe vibe for all members. They also have great and knowledgeable Personal Trainers here too!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Snap Fitness Altona North for the past 2 years, had nothing but a great experience. The gym isn’t too crowded, equipment is good, and the sweat towels (and cold towels) provided is an excellent added benefit. Everyone I’ve met who run the gym - Ingrid & Mark - as well as the owners, are extremely welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend this gym, best I’ve been to.

Fantastic experience: I toured four gyms in the area before joining Snap Altona. The decision was helped by the fact that the gym was affordable, clean, well appointed and the equipment was in great condition. However, the deciding factor was the owner, Ingrid. She was warm and welcoming and eased my anxiety about joining a unisex gym after 5 years at a women’s only gym. She’s continued to check in and say hello every time I’ve seen her since then. Couldn’t be happier!

Fantastic experience: This has to be one of the highly rated gyms I have trained at to date. The managers here are unmatched. From the great upkeep of the gym to the friendly welcome you receive every time you walk into the gym, they certainly raise the standards of expectations with what a gym should provide. Need I mention the countless times I have had issues and the team wouldn’t hesitate to assist. Just yesterday I had dropped my phone in the stair master at the same time the manager was leaving for the day and she didn’t think twice in putting her bag and keys down to help me retrieve my phone. It would be criminal to call this a commercial gym. To me, it’s more like family than anything. Kudos to the team for all the work they’ve put in over the years in building it up again.

Fantastic experience: Having recently moved from Queensland, I was hesitant about whether I wanted to retain my snap membership but I’m so glad I gave Snap Altona North a try. From the moment, you enter the gym, you are greeted by the delightful Ingrid who does everything in her power to make you feel welcome. The gym itself is meticulously clean and the staff are excellent. I love the little touches such as cool hand towels, restocked air fresheners in bathrooms and even Easter eggs placed around the gym during Easter for members to find. I can say with great certainty after having visited numerous Snaps throughout Qld and Vic, Snap Altona North is by far my favourite!!

Fantastic experience: Love the staff at Snapfitness Altona north, they are so friendly and helpful. There is always enough equipment to share at least during school hours that I know of. Yoga sessions on Saturday mornings too. After I'm done there's the convenience of the plaza upstairs to do your shopping too.

Positive experience: Good gym, lovely people & great facilities however the communication is abysmal. The phone is rarely answered and emails can go days or weeks without being responded too.

Fantastic experience: Everything I wanted to find in a gym. Equipment is all new, rarely have to wait for anything and not pretentious. Also very good value membership comparably with any other gym. New owners seem to have upped the care-factor. Recommened.

Fantastic experience: The atmosphere here really is amazing, and the staff are also great and friendly. The PT’s that are available are always approachable and definitely know their stuff! Plus there’s a lot of classes on hand and even monthly challenges The prices are very fair and you’d be hard pressed to find cheaper subscriptions with the same quality as here! The location is a little tricky to find at first but you quickly learn to appreciate it’s location and how easy it is to bee line to it (Plus there’s parking right outside!!) Might sound weird but the drink tap is amazing; it’s hard to find gyms with actual cold water available and it never hurts to have cold water on hand However, because it’s underground don’t expect much service for your phone

Positive experience: Layout is good and it’s a great size so they have a decent amount of each piece of equipment. Can usually always use what you need when you need it. Equipment is great and modern. Never really see anything out of order which is great. Staff are always friendly saying hello and goodbye as I come and go. The only thing I don’t like which I took a star away for is leaving your stuff in open lockers. This is across all snap gyms I’ve been to. Hate having to always look to make sure someone hasn’t stollen my wallet or keys. Prefer to not have to think about that stuff while I work out. Better change rooms and showers here would also be great to make it easier to get ready for work if I go before hand. No where to hang work clothes, no benches in change rooms to sit and get ready or to put your stuff on while you get dressed. Over all pretty good though.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 would recommend. It's definitely not one of those typical gyms where you feel intimidated by when working out. The staff are so friendly and always welcoming. It has a variety of equipment, a variety of fitness classes that are free to members and I love that it's accessible 24/7.

Fantastic experience: This gym is really awesome! The staff is very professional and friendly. The equipment is new and facilities are clean. People is this gym is also great. In my experience I have got very good results losing weight and gaining strength. Location is perfect! !! When is cold in winter and rains a lot. You arrive to the basement and everything is at least 5 to 10 degress less. I just love it. 100 % recommended.
