Mossman Riverside Leisure Park: Opinions
Fantastic experience: Great local 50m lap pool. Friendly staff and clean amenities
Positive experience: Well appointed clean and friendly staff
Fantastic experience: The park is shady, cool with great trees sites in the Mossman River. The staff are great but it is Council run, so lots of confusing and unclear changes to rules, length of stay etc...
Positive experience: A nice place. Has been quiet during our stay. Only problem that I see is that it's not been managed over the Xmas break. People coming to book in or swim, I don't know, but nobody's here.
Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff and always quiet. You can swim own lean.
Positive experience: Caravan park was spacious, talked to a permanent resident (30 years) he was very friendly and helpful as he has lived in Mossman his whole life. It's right next to the river not much around regarding places to eat everything closed around 8pm even the pub.
Fantastic experience: Good council park. Very clean and good sites. Great swimming pool.
Fantastic experience: Great dog friendly caravan park, very peaceful, nice clean facilities
Positive experience: Ok
Positive experience: Staff were very helpful and friendly, amenities were very clean, and free access to the pool.
Positive experience: Very friendly staff, nice park with clean facilities. Our stay included entry to the olympic sized pool. The park is relatively small but we had plenty of room for our campervan. We only stayed one night and would definitely stay again.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, lifeguard on duty, not too busy, nice sized pool. Relaxing swim watching the blue swallow birds flying overhead.
Positive experience: Great little place, except for some noise from the sugar mill. However your site fee includes access to the heated 50 metre pool. The camp kitchen is pretty good as well. The place has been renewed recently. The pitches are flat and on the large size. Plenty of room for tents. Powered and uncovered.
Positive experience: Bit grubby. $50 a night 2 adults 1 child- powered site. Bit pricey too.
Positive experience: Good little place nice and quite good to stop to see things around the Cape etc a good few things to see around the place good little camp ground
Fantastic experience: Swim there every few days ..best public pool in QLD
Positive experience: Stayed for a week. It was so central to everything. Great pool
Fantastic experience: Great venue, easy walk to town, Saturday markets & walking trail encircles cane field (ear-marked for Botanical Gardens) clean & well fitted Amentities.....thoroughly recommend.
Fantastic experience: Close to town and good central location to explore the region. Friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay.
Fantastic experience: Cool park, your stay gives you free entry to the pool which is immaculate. Be shore to go for a swim
Fantastic experience: Nice clean caravan park
Positive experience: A good caravan park to use as a base while you do the touristy things. The amenities are a little tired but so were we.
Negative experience: A lot of traffic noise. Male amentities ordinary. Broken shower head for two days. Not repaired. Will not stay again
Positive experience: Camping classic mais cuisine tres moyenne peu d equipement
Fantastic experience: Great pool and gym also very friendly staff
Fantastic experience: Schöner Campingplatz
Fantastic experience: Nice shady central
Positive experience: Was full and crowded. Needed 3 extension cords to access power board. Facilities average.
Fantastic experience: Great pool never busy
Positive experience: Nice and clean, more undercover areas would b good for seating.
Negative experience: My partner and I stayed at this park during September 2018 on our way to the Daintree National Park. We stayed in one of the parks unpowdered campsites but unfortunately these sites were extremely close to the main highway. Sleep was nearly impossible, even with earplugs due to the constant flow of cars, motorbikes and trucks driving past throughout the night. Our site was about 15 metres from the road but other sites were much closer with just a cyclone mesh fence with shadecloth attached as a barrier. The sites were also very small with no barriers between sites resulting in zero privacy. The kitchen area was basic and cluttered while the bathrooms needed an upgrade. At $30 per night this was expensive compared to other campgrounds we stayed in during our 2 week trip. In hindsight we should have stayed at Kingfisher Park, 26km south of Mossman for $21 per person or driven further north into the Daintree National Park. During our time in the Daintree we stayed at the Rainforest Village Campground ($25 per site) and Noah's Beach Campground $6.55 per person per night. Both these campsites were great!
Fantastic experience: Great caravan Park, fully equipped camp kitchen, great swimming pool and friendly staff. Close to the centre of town, a lot of sights to see in the area.
Positive experience: Nothing fancy here. Girl who got us checked in was friendly, amenities are clean enough. Very close to road. Tons of people here. Think most are permanent.
Positive experience: Great place, good van spots, clean facilities and friendly staff
Positive experience: This is a very good size park, nice snd green with no dust to worry about and a great canopy of large trees. The sites are all a reasonable size to fit big rigs. The sites are offset because they are close together so you don't have to look into the neighbors window. There are concrete pads and also concreted tie down points to chain down the van in stormy weather The only bins are located near the amenities block and were overflowing because they hadn't neen emptied For the amount of people staying at the park, three toilet and four shower cubicles in the mens block is just not enough. As the park is situated on a main highway, the passing traffic can get loud. Also there is the constant back ground noise of the sugar mill.
Negative experience: Quite tight for large vans and you can end up in the car park which is classed as an overflow. There are too many dogs on this park and needless to say there is always one barking. There may be rules but they are not implemented. If you want a quiet break give this park a miss.
Positive experience: Clean, quiet and friendly place. Will stay here again
Positive experience: A very small park but well run and clean. Free access to the adjoining pool a bonus.
Fantastic experience: Clean, quiet and relaxed. A beautiful little spot by the river close to town and plenty of things you'd need. Pool is present for a crocodile free swim ,
Negative experience: We arrived at 4.30pm to find reception closed. I rang the phone number and got an answer message. We didn't know what to do as the site was clearly open, so we spoke to someone already camped and they said that they had also called and been told to find a pitch and pay in the morning. We drove on site and were parking when an extremely aggressive man came up and asked me what I thought I was doing. When I told him I was finding a space, he said no I wasn't, this was his site and I should leave. His manner was threatening and he seemed beside himself with rage. He told me that I had to leave and go back to reception and call the out of hours number. He calmed down a bit when I showed him my phone to prove that I had called but got no response. Overall though his behaviour was utterly unacceptable. He accused me of trying to freeload and stay without paying. He seemed to think that it was my fault that reception was closed (it is advertised as open to 6pm),and that I had called the office not the out of hours number which I hadn't seen. Anyway he was happy to take my money but gave me nothing about the site. Whoever this guy is, he will singlehandedly ruin the reputation of the business if he is allowed to behave like this.
Positive experience: Nice quiet caravan park. Clean amenities. Close to town area
Positive experience: Recently retiled. Very clean pool. Underwater hockey club starting up is a lot of fun.
Positive experience: Great clean caravan park. Nice big pool for free for campers. Residents are friendly. Powered site 1 adult 2 kids - $38p/n
Positive experience: Clean amenities
Positive experience: Clean park amenities tidy park a bit noise but would stay again
Fantastic experience: Good amenities.
Positive experience: Nice park. Clean amenities. Would stay here again
Positive experience: There is a lot of noise coming from outside. The toilets are clean but dated. The park is overcrowded. A safety concern is power cords going fro the laundry to vans. The cords are laying across the path that goes to the amenities.
Fantastic experience: River front sites have a tropical feel, nice tidy amenities, great hot showers and very helpful friendly staff.. One irresponsible dog owner hopefully hasn't ruined it for other pet owners..
Negative experience: Not good at this point in time. This afternoon we booked in for 4 nights and were allotted site 17A. APPROXIMATELY 7pm a young woman knocked on our camper door, it was raining heavily at the time and said, "You will have to move over for us to fit in. The man at reception said we could share your site. So we duly moved over folded up our awning, closed our stove and sink etc so they could fit in. They are so close we could reach out and touch their van. I am really disappointed that we weren't consulted no reduction in fee muted just do it. Would not recommend this facility, camp kitchen is also very poor, one tiny eldctric hotplate, the primus had an empty cyclinder very poor
Positive experience: Correct camping site. Very close to mossman centre
Fantastic experience: Picturesque
Fantastic experience: 50m olympic swimming pool
Fantastic experience: Love the local pool lots of pooloptions for the families
Positive experience:
Fantastic experience: Beautiful clean Olympic pool.
Negative experience: Dated amenities. Poorly maintained.
Negative experience: This place could be so much better if the owners just tried a little harder, or stopped being so tight with money. Watered down liquid soap in the amenities, no plug or hot water in the camp kitchen sink, no scraper for the barbeque plate, paper towel not replenished in bathrooms. A few more metres of concrete path would mean that grass doesn't get tracked into the amenities block and showers. The shower cubicles themselves are small and not up to the standard you see in other parks. I guess they have no other competition in Mossman and, on the plus side, you do get full access to the Olympic size swimming pool. The park is in a nice setting, the owners were friendly, just let down by these things that could easily be fixed.
Positive experience: I live here. Close to town. Tranquil by river. Overrun with travellers and dogs during winter. Nice big pool in summer heat
