Negative experience: Read the Terms and Conditions carefully, their cancellation policy is ridiculous. Even after your contract period has finished, you can't cancel your membership unless it is in writing and even then they will make you pay for a further 4 weeks (I have been a member of 3 local gyms over the last 8 years and half a dozen others over the years and the 30 days is not common). They continue with the contract terms even after the end date of sed contract has passed. I told a staff member I would like to cancel my membership the last time I went to the gym and was told that's fine, just let them know closer to the last date I wanted to use the gym (I planned on using it for a further 3 weeks but got an injury so couldn't go back). No comment from the staff member I spoke to about the in writing or 30 day clause when I spoke to the staff member. When I was told about the 30 days after emailing my cancellation request, I explained I was away for over 4 weeks, injured and my contract period had ended and it made no difference. In regard to the terms being emailed at the beggining - I never received the so called email with the terms. Just another lie. I did a thorough check of all emails. Not only is this gym way overpriced for what it is, they trap you with their false advertising of their so called specials. Do not enter into a contract with them. Also they do not enforce the cleaning after yourself rule, half the people there sweat all over the equipment and don't clean it after they finish.

All members receive our gym etiquette guidelines in their welcome documents, and our team works hard to maintain high cleaning standards throughout the day to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
As we discussed via email, the 30-day notice period is a standard practice across many gyms and is outlined in your contract, which was emailed to you by our billing provider, Debit Success, upon joining.

Negative experience: I specifically asked whether it was possible to sign up for just four weeks during my stay in Bunbury. The “membership consultant” explicitly told me that the membership would automatically cancel after the four-week period, and that no further action would be required on my part. I checked multiple times that I won’t need to do anything and was told not to worry about the contract. Contrary to what I was told, the payments continued. I emailed the manager to which she just told me it doesn’t automatically cancel and that I should call the gym to cancel the membership with a 30 day notice period. I provided further information (including screenshots of the messages between the staff and I) and a follow up email but still hasn’t replied after 3 weeks. Now I’m told the “membership consultant” doesn’t work there anymore and they “don’t know why he said that.” No hard feelings for the other staff who work there and I enjoyed the gym while I was there. Just pure disgust regarding the lies “membership consultants” can make and the lack of responsibility of the manager for her staff’s actions. Just don’t join this gym short term, or at least ask for a written agreement as they obviously don’t take responsibility for their words.

Negative experience: A decent gym, Friendly staff, however the place is not always clean if you go in late at night after a rush Of people, There’s weights and stuff left everywhere. It just doesn’t look very professional. Not sure what the cleaning schedule is like, but definitely needs improving. Very keen to see what the new Treendale World Gym will be like And hoping that it’s better!

Negative experience: I contacted the Gym via Facebook on Friday and went into the gym, gave my details for a PT to contact me and so far nothing. After reading some of the reviews maybe I dodged a bullet Gave my name number and email address to them when I visited on Friday Still no response to my Facebook messenger

Positive experience: Can't say my experience has been great since I signed the membership contract a few months ago. Several of the links in the welcome pack are not functional, I can't get anyone to give me info on the local businesses where I get a discount with the membership. On enquiring into a potential upgrade to some of the upcoming new facilities it has taken over 2 weeks, and I still can't get a price for how much it will cost me with my current membership type but I'm already being asked to sign a new contract. While the front reception staff are helpful and the facilities are adequate the membership administration leaves a lot to be desired for what you charge in fees. To be honest I feel like a number not a valued member.

Negative experience: biggest money scamming place you’ll ever come across, good-luck trying to quit. Had to deal with Hannah and Harry anytime there was an issue but anything to get more money in their pocket. They were absolutely no help. In the end threatened to take things further, then suddenly they are able to cancel my membership on the spot. Couldn’t get any of my money back from the first time i tried to quit as they “couldn’t access their old computers anymore” how convenient. Will NOT be coming back and i think its within everyone’s best interest to not waste your time.

Positive experience: Well the gym facilities are awesome, sometimes stuff is broken but they try to fix everything in a short time. The only thing I don't like is the fact that they don't provide soap and shower gel since quite a time cause the soap dispensers are broken.... Maybe it the fact that I come from Europe, or it's just me, but that should be something which shouldnt be a big issue to fix ^^ Anyway great people, great employees, all of them are friendly and overall it's a great gym. A bit pricey but that's okay :)

Negative experience: Breached my privacy twice now by apparently accidentally sending out personal full information to all gym members, mens change rooms are always filthy and smelly. Also did a 6 week challenge and never got contacted once, even after going In and saying I've heard nothing was still ignored. The place, the communications, and the manager are beyond a joke. I paid upfront for a year and I won't be renewing. Disappointed service all round.

Negative experience: Have recently been very disappointed with the way the staff have been acting, specifically in relation to the shoes that need to be worn in the gym. It is unacceptable to be filming/photographing and posting on personal social media accounts that tag world gym to repost, not only is that embarrassing to the individual but also wrong in every other aspect as when was permission granted to post that person?? furthermore being interrupted whilst working out by “staff” (out of uniform and in plain clothes, no identifying markers they’re even associated with the gym) is not only frustrating but also rude. I’ve personally experienced a so called “staff member” click in my face while i sat on a bench off the gym floor and was rudely asked where my shoes were as i was wearing birkenstocks, this individual proceeded to tell me only people who lift weights are allowed to not have closed toe shoes (i wasn’t even on the gym floor i was seated on a chair). I personally felt humiliated in front of the gym as I watched at least 10 other individuals walk on the gym floor with the exact same shoes i had whilst I was off and hadn’t even started my workout yet. This behaviour is rude and cannot be the standard you wish to represent yourself with. Staff out of uniform need to stop harassing other people in the gym as it makes your facility look very bad perhaps signage should be applied throughout gym instead of these awkward, belittling encounters. I used to love coming to world gym but now I avoid these staffed hours so I don’t encounter these rude ‘staff’ members

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed and upset with the way world gym Bunbury handled a recent incident involving one of its members. It was brought to my attention that a member was publicly humiliated via a story posted on the gym’s main social media page for not wearing shoes. While it’s common in many gyms for individuals to exercise without shoes, the gym’s response was completely uncalled for. What’s even more troubling is that the gym’s manager not only reposted the story but a personal trainer also shared it, effectively mocking a paying member. This is an incredibly unprofessional and distasteful way to treat a member of your community. Publicly calling out someone like this—not only humiliates them but also creates an environment of shame rather than encouragement and support. As a gym that should be focused on fostering a positive, welcoming atmosphere, this behavior is completely unacceptable. Social media should be used for promoting inclusivity and support, not as a platform to ridicule members over something as minor as their footwear choice. The actions of the manager and personal trainer were disrespectful and showed a clear lack of professionalism. I sincerely hope the gym addresses this issue and takes responsibility for the harm caused. It’s essential that this behaviour be corrected to ensure no one else has to face this kind of public shaming.

Negative experience: I’m honestly shocked by the unprofessional behavior I witnessed from a personal trainer. The trainer recorded a gym member without their consent, just because they weren’t wearing shoes—something that’s pretty common in many gyms. Not only is this an invasion of privacy, but sharing the video on a public page is completely unacceptable. This trainer’s actions reflect poorly on the gym, and I hope this behavior is addressed immediately. Respecting members’ privacy should be a basic standard, and this incident has made me seriously reconsider my membership.

Negative experience: Highly rate the Creche and their team members, always friendly and provides excellent care. The gym itself is a let down - cardio machines constantly out of order with the small amount of machines that are available - change rooms are suboptimal, good luck finding a working locker with the 10 sets of keys you’re provided because the staff don’t even know. - The gym is hot, 1 industrial fan cools 1-2 treadmills with the remaining treadmills being sweat boxes. - weight machines have worn and torn coverings - classes cancelled with little notice - music is too loud even with my own headphones I can hear their music over my own It’s the ideal gym for those interested in figure modeling, body building and being featured in a TikTok. Otherwise doesn’t feel like a gym that’s inclusive of anybody else.

Negative experience: 2 BIG Potholes at the main entrance have been there for weeks. CAN DAMAGE SMALL/MEDIUM VEHICLES. Unexceptable why take facility fees from members but not fix anything?

Fantastic experience: Great gym. Was down in Bunbury from Perth for a while so joined this gym and it was amazing! Lovely and friendly staff, brilliant equipment, great music. 100% recommend! Was better than my gym in Perth!

Negative experience: Be careful of the gym and do not ever join because I’ve purchased 10 times for $100 dollars and I am not from Bunbury and here for holidays and only use 5 times of my pass and had five left and I’ve explained to them that I would not be back to Bunbury to this gym ever and I had other 5 day pass left. As this out come I didn’t wanna waste any money and wish to get a refund and some vouchers but the woman name Stella is very rude and bad customer service and told me that I would not get anything or my money back and told me bad luck and she was not friendly and for this out come I’ve had a very bad experience with this gym and they have scam a lot of peoples money and I was very sad after all. I recommend to all FIFO workers that come to Bunbury DO NOT COME TO WORLD GYM!!!

Fantastic experience: Just want to say how amazing the whole World Gym team are. I love how you always greet me and ready to help in any way possible. You guys always make me feel like a friend rather than just a member. Hannah, thank you for always having everything in control and running smoothly. I also appreciate that if I need to talk to you about any issues you always make sure you have the time despite being so busy! You do an incredible job!! The personal trainers are also the absolute best. They have a huge wealth of experience and always willing to give advice no matter what your fitness level. I love that you don't feel intimidated at World Gym - there's all different body shapes and sizes and nobody is ever judging you. It's a great place to workout and make new friends and would never consider going anywhere else!

Negative experience: The World Gym Bunbury make it impossible to cancel your membership, horrible service. My sister paid a $200 cancellation fee, after struggling to contact someone at the gym who actually new how to cancel a membership. She contacted them over 9 times in person, over the phone and via email, from December last year to April 2024, attempting to cancel her membership. However, she was denied and refused over 7 times, until in April they finally agreed to cancel her membership for a fee of $200. Yet again, they have continued to charge her weekly, despite no longer having a membership.
