Negative experience: After cancelling they keep taking money!!?? Watch out guys Just look around the area you will find better gyms than this one Here you will find Hidden fees, bad customer service, annoying PTs.. etc! I signed up for $18.99 per week, after only two weeks they asked me for more than $100

Negative experience: Management and admin should be a bit more concerned about retaining current customers rather than attracting new ones. Zero customer service and only rudeness once you have signed up. This gym deserves to go broke.

Negative experience: Re: Unprofessional communication and Service. Professional staff resolved problem required. Due to my contract had finished, In July2021 , I requested to cancel my membership in writing via ur official website to Preston Genesis, where I joined in. No longer I received comfirmation email from them and mention they will contact me in3-5days. Unfortunately I didn't received their call. In November2021, I called the centre about this. The receptionist advised me to email them the email I received as evidence. After that, there's no more charge from my account. I thought my cancellation request has been approved until two weeks ago. I called them again cause there's fee charged again. One of staff contacted me and asked me again to email the evidence. After I email all the evidence to her, she asked me pay the cancellation fee as I didn't inform them 30days notice?! seriously?!If not, why I received the confimation email from u with subject CANCELLATION REQUEST! Now I need related Department to resolve this. SUCH A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES.

Positive experience: Really great place for training and classes. They have a nice private steam room separated by genders which is great! It is on a busy road but if you go after peak hour traffic it's easy to get in and find parking within the gym.

Negative experience: I been with Genesis for long time, I used to enjoy going there but recently lots of equipment been broken and haven’t been fixed, lots of equipment have been moved to the coach area, I feel like the gym has big space but not enough machines. I am thinking to move to another gym once my contract is finished. Hope they can fix those issues before my contract ends

Negative experience: Terrible experience, They kept charging me even after I asked to cancel my membership, and finally had to stop paying through my bank account. Now they have Debt collectors after me.

Negative experience: Terrible Experience:Joined Genesis 2019. Send them an email to cancel my membership in April 2020. Didn't know that I had to visit the gym to cancel the membership. They had no courteousy to reply me. Genesis have been charging me way after April. Talked to the bank March 2021 stopped future payments. Now Genesis sending debt collector to collect $400.00 + because I haven't visited the gym to cancel the membership. Apparently I haven't read the fine print.

Fantastic experience: After having many negative experiences with other gyms in the area I was so thankful to have found Genesis! As soon as I walked in they showed interest in me and my goals. It feels good to have a team be invested in my fitness journey.

Negative experience: i have got a really worst experience of my life with this gym i used to work out in genesis Bundoora, their service was far better than this gym, however, i moved to preston area i decided to continue my membership with genesis but i did not know that customer service would be inadequate in this gym on the other side ,if you want to terminate your membership you will have to pay extra 150$ these people will not discuss about it while getting you membership so stop baffling people, you can read more reviews about payment if i am wrong , i wish, i could check with the reviews before joining it, my suggestion is completely zero for those who are willing to join it

Negative experience: There key cards are generally fualty an they won't mention something wrong with payments till they amount reaches over a hundred an won't attempt to contact you or let you know so they can profit also no one follows covid guidelines no masks no cleaning of equipment after usage an the system just seems rigged to screw you honestly overpriced an they treat you like a wallet not a person

Negative experience: How disappointed with the communication and experience with Genesis Preston. Have been a paying member for three years. Cancelled back in July and got told I'll have to pay thirty more days on reopening due to freezing of memberships through Covid .. fair enough.... However I have done that and sent an email follow up and it's now five days later and still 0 response to my email. Guys....come on, this is not good enough and if you need to get more administration staff working from home to assist with club member enquiries you should do that. You need to recover but you may lose a lot of business moving forward if this is how you run the club. I want a response.

Negative experience: During the time the club was closed due to COVID 19, I decided to support the club and keep paying the weekly fee but now the club is open again I don't feel comfortable to go back. I requested to cancel my membership and see if I could get some of the 12 weeks that I paid in advance back..... Well guess what!! Genesis won't be refunding any money. I should have cancel when the Shut down started. Well done Genesis!!! you only confirm that the only thing you care is money

Positive experience: Great local gym, which has 24 hour access. Exercise equipment includes squat racks, deadlifting platform, free weights, machine weights, treadmills, cross trainers, bikes etc). I've found all staff very friendly and accommodating. If you live or work locally or within the surrounding suburbs I would highly recommend this gym. It has plenty of parking available.

Fantastic experience: Great local gym, which has 24 hour access. Has lots of equipment (including squat racks, deadlifting platform, free weights, machine weights, treadmills, cross trainers, bikes etc). I've found all staff very friendly and accommodating. There is also a number of group fitness classes, steam rooms, creche, personal trainers and a dedicated coaching zone. If you live or work locally, I would highly recommend this gym.

Negative experience: My girlfriends bag with house keys inside gyms old locker and cant open. Nobody around to help. No numbers ro ring. Rang the security number and they said they cant help. Very bloody inconvenient....... its a Sunday evening. My girlfriend doesnt have house keys for tomorrow

Negative experience: I've never felt so out of place and judged by gym staff. I came here for a trial because my partner wanted a gym with 60kg dumb bells and my current gym doesn't go that big. We walked in and the trainer immediately starts trying to impress my partner (he's a pretty big guy) while obviously judging me for not looking as much of a gym bunny as him, sideways looks, snarky comments and the like. Mind you I've trained in gyms for the past 10 years. He barely spoke to me and made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I walked out of there thinking if this was my first gym experience I would never want to go back, it made me feel awful about myself and was extremely off-putting. Additionally the treadmill I was on had a dead spider IN the display, lifting equipment is old and the set out wasn't conducive to a good workout for me. I'll definitely be going back to my previous gym. Wouldn't train here if they paid me.

Positive experience: I'm a member of the Coaching Zone at Genesis Preston and really love it. The trainers are friendly, motivating and encourage me to challenge myself appropriately. I love being able to book classes on the app and track my heart rate during sessions using the heart rate monitor. The app also has a nutrition plan which has some good meals. Classes are a good size and generally I don't have to book too far in advance. The only thing I don't like is that there seems to be high turn over of head coaches. It would also be good to have a fan installed in the Coaching Zone area, towels available for rent and things like hair ties/socks available to buy when needed!

Negative experience: I thought all of the bad reviews relating to money on here were a bit far-fetched, to be honest, until it happened to me. I had to cancel my membership early due to injury/illness. The following day, the gym deducted $150 from my account. I was given no warning of this at all at the time of cancellation. I was told I would have to provide a medical certificate in order for this cancellation fee of $150 to be waived - fine, I had no issue with this. What I did take issue with was $150 being removed from my account, without my knowledge or consent, particularly when there was no need for this to occur given my reason for cancellation. Due to being unwell and injured, I was in a difficult financial situation at the time, yet it took them well over a week to reimburse, despite me pleading with them for the funds to be reimbursed sooner. I don't understand how they can take funds instantly, but have to wait for a particular day to reimburse you? The facilities here are good but it's not worth your time - they want only your money and care for nothing else. Good luck getting out easily if you do sign up!

Positive experience: I like the gym and staff but the state of the change rooms is not good. The lockers have missing doors. Sink has been out of order for months. Some of the locks don't work and the light fitting leaks when it rains. Need updating.

Fantastic experience: I love the Gym because you meet alot of people and you lose weight it's only a 10 minute walk to go there and back and 2 minute drive to go there and back closer to our place I love the classes there

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the crèche to mums with young kids or babies. The morning classes like Pilate and Body Balance are great for mums to fix sore muscles and stiffness. I especially enjoy the more challenging Body Balance class, which has all the elements I like - power Pilate, power yoga and mindfulness (relaxation). I’ve built strength and flexibility from attending these classes every week when crèche is on. It’s so helpful now that I’m doing sleep training with my 10-kg 16 month-old and holding her more than an hour at bedtime. I would not be able to do any of that if I hadn’t been learning how to use and relax my core muscles with proper posture.

Negative experience: Best thing about the gym is it's 24/7 nature and some free weights training area. apart from that below average equipment and very old handles and missing equipment. I made sure I reflect some suggestions to the manager through the never ending NPS they have sent me as I was a member for over 5 years. I was promised changes to some basic stuff and even some upgrades to critical missing equipment which even the trainers agreed the gym lacks. this was 6 months ago and no change to anything. Hence why I have looked elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Great services offered here. Han was very friendly and helped me to accommodate my needs. I really felt like a valued customer here.

Negative experience: MONEY HOGGING GYM, unless you have the patience and stamina to argue with them all the time, don’t waste your time. Does not live up to their promises with all their promotions. Even with one month free trials, they charge you as it is and waits for you to realise and for you to confront them. Got so sick of always going back and forth i spent 30 mins with them sorting out all the fees and ended up cancelling their membership before going overseas. The billing company ended up calling me a month later saying that I had overdue charges (despite settling it all and quitting the gym a month ago), and ended up having to pay more than the original. Get out before it’s too late boys and girls.

Negative experience: I went to get some information and they asked me for my phone number, I was soo upset when I saw that they already had whole my information and even a picture of me (They took it from my linkedin account) stay away from these ppl.....IMO

Negative experience: Signed up for a year (prepaid in cash), now they're constantly harassing me to rejoin even though I've moved overseas. Now my emergency contact is telling me they've started harassing her with phone calls and messages addressed to me!

Negative experience: I had a horrible experience with cancellation. For some reason they didn't cancel my membership when I asked them in person and they had been debiting my bank account for months until I noticed it .I then rang them up and was told that you never cancelled your membership !!!

Negative experience: Hi ive been pvercharged by this gym! I went there i explained the situation n they said theyd get back to me which they havent yet ! Its been a month an a half! Every time i go i had to talk to a different person n they all said sthg different! They rnt rude or sthg but they have no cllue whatsoever about their cancellation process! When i first signed up i asked for a personal trainer session again they said theyd get back to me but then noone called! Alll im saying just ront waste ur tome n money on this genesis thing not worth it cheers

Negative experience: All of the features promised to me as part of the membership were lies. When I came to cancel my membership because of this I was met with hostility and demands for more payments. This is extortion. I advise against signing any contracts with Genesis Preston, it may turn out to be dangerous.

Negative experience: Transferred membership to Preston from another Genesis due to working interstate. Preston failed to notified the previous gym regarding the transfer and continued to double charge. Asked 5 times to investigate the matter to no avail for something that should take 10min to sort out.

Negative experience: Worst Experience. Signed up at Preston branch in 2014 for a yr membership and gave bank detail for auto debit in good faith thinking its an organisation of repute. Had to leave in between, but knew that they will be deducting money for the whole year as I signed up for the same. But to my surprise they continue deducting even after the one year membership expired. Now when I realised checking my bank statements in 2017, the staff is too arrogant to assist. No replies to Emails. When I asked them nobody contacted me in last one year either via phone, text or email, that I have not been using the services and i m being charged for, got a reply that they are under staff and have no time to contact the members... BIG FRAUDSTERS AND COLLECTING FREE MONEY... NO ONE EXPLAINED THE CONTRACT AT TIME OF SIGNUP AND NOW GOT A REPLY THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO KEEP MY MONEY BCOS I DIDNT TICKED A BOX
