Anytime Fitness Cairns Northern Beaches - Smithfield

Negative experience: Most expensive gym. In Cairns. Impossible to get out of their contract even after years. Low standard of service. Money grabbing grubs. I've actually had to close my bank account down. Evil.

Negative experience: If I could give no stars I would, the staff are disgusting, you can not cancel your membership, they ask why, come in and talk to us. It’s beyond a joke

Negative experience: Expensive rates, locked in non flexible contracts and ridiculous policies around the $80 piece of plastic you use to enter the gym. You do not get refunded, you cannot re gift and you cannot sell it. Then they have the audacity to tell you “keep it just incase you want to return”. This is exactly why I will NEVER RETURN.

Negative experience: I’m disappointed with the service provided, I asked staff to freeze my account considering I wasn’t training properly to personal reasons, after a couple of months my membership (weekly payments) has been re-activated without previous information and because of that I’m canceling my contract, which apparently is a 4 weeks payable notice. Manager is nice and gym is good don’t take me wrong but for the way this Gyms empire is structured is such a shame. I’ll go somewhere else next time I decide to go back to training.

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional, 2 faced & even at times verbally abusive staff. They will act friendly & caring until they have you in a contract then have ZERO appreciation for their members. You’re just another number to them. Save your money & go straight across the road to 1 Million strong or Genesis! Both gyms are cheaper, have better equipment, nicer environments & value their customers!

The level of support I received when I first started was amazing, Sally kept checking in with me and making sure I knew how to use the machines. I signed up with Nadia for personal training, and honestly it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I’ve been going to the gym consistently for a year now, and I’m amazed at what I’ve been able to achieve with Nadia and the anytime fitness team

Fantastic experience: Awesome gym, very well cleaned and maintained. I hardly ever see a machine broken unlike other gyms. I've also never had issues with big egos there either, everyone is polite and keeps to themselves when working out.

Negative experience: Used to be great but feeling really run down and neglected. Wipes always empty and can’t wipe down equipment. No paper towels in the toilets ever. Broken locks and handles.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked in the Manager, Sally, was welcoming and great to deal with. Such a professional and well run gym with excellent equipment. As a gym junkie from down South I highly recommend this Anytime Fitness!

Negative experience: So I joined up due to my friend forcing me too. But I didn't have a way there so I cancelled my member after a year or so. I cancelled my membership 3 times after that... 3! They still are taking money out of my account. And now I have debt collectors after me saying I owe them money after I cancelled my membership for the 3rd time. I have called number of times for them to call me back. No phone calls return. Quiet very upsetting. I did have one helpful ladies one time who helped me with my last cancellation... but there was more transactions taken from my bank...

After suffering from an extremely severe health condition for two years I was apprehensive about joining a gym but can honestly say I love it. Sally in the office always greets me with a smile and a wave, and I love my new PT Izzy. She listens to me and understands my needs completely. The classes are also fantastic. A super inclusive, friendly, judgement-free environment that takes away all my anxiety and helps me reach my health and fitness goals. Thanks AF Smithfield

Negative experience: The management is horrible. My friends and I were falsely put under a contract. We were just there for the free trial and asked to be let out but they were rude, disrespectful and told us it was our fault. Don't get me wrong, the actual gym is really well kept and well set out. But it has the WORST management. We still haven't got the money back.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym just before Christmas and am already seeing great results. Not being one to use gyms in the past, I was hesitant about joining, but the welcome I got when I came in for a look is what sold it and I'm glad to say the support and encouragement from the staff has been worthy of a five star rating. If your unsure about joining a gym, try this one. You won't be disappointed. I train six days a week, with a simple routine I was shown by Sally, the new manager, and it is just what I need for now till I gain more confidence in the equipment and my ability.

Negative experience: Would not recomment this fitness gym. Never shown the proper use of equipment. Stuck in a lock-in contract for 12 months. It's always crowded and not enough parking.
