Negative experience: Not happy joined for the free 5 week trial then decided to go back to my old gym. Can't get ahold of anyone to cancel membership. Have sent emails and cancelled cards but still receive the text message to say that I owe this much and that much.
Negative experience: I am rarely ever one to write a negative review when I have not yet tried to resolve my issue privately but for the last eight weeks - I have been having issues with Club Lime's Management (formerly South Pacific HC) which my cancelled membership with them in May 2024, has started to collect direct debits from me again without a valid contract or explained reason. After multiple attempts and messages/phone calls to resolve this privately - I keep getting the same dead end response. Embarrassingly, I even had to email to former sister South Pacific HC at Camberwell to even get any kind of traction with my complaints (the staff at Camberwell were lovely). It is a real shame as I loved coming to this club when I still lived in the area and only had to cancel as I moved away. I would be very careful and mindful of any transactions you might start to see come off your account after cancelling!! this issue is still yet to be resolved despite them claiming they have cancelled all the accounts I've had with them. Unacceptable and shameful to be doing this to people, especially with cost of living crisis. I am afraid I am needing to formally escalate further. Be very careful if you find yourself cancelling your contract - you might start getting random direct debit attempts months later!!!!
Positive experience: been attending here for a while, its convenient, but could do with some TLC
Positive experience: South Pacific had been going downhill and left the gym in a poor state (especially lockers) but I have hopes for the new Club Lime owners to turn it around.
Fantastic experience: I saw the reviews and had to check this place out for myself and honestly it doesn’t deserve all the bad reviews it’s got in its current state. The gym offers a wide range of machines that are fully in use (there is one water fountain not in use and that’s it but there is another one in the gym). The staff are very friendly, the gym and toilets are very clean. I signed up with the Black Friday sale of 6 weeks free and the money has been credited to my account. Very friendly gym, would recommend :)
Negative experience: Dishonest advertising - don’t believe their offer of “6 weeks free, $0 joining fee” . They will charge you for 2 weeks upon trying to sign up and then expect you to just trust them that you will then be able to access the promotional offer after that. Doubt it! Why get potential customers offside with dodgy and misleading marketing?
Negative experience: The amount of times I have been to the gym and there's nothing to wipe down the machines is disgraceful. Least hygienic gym I've ever been to, it's filthy. Do better.

Negative experience: No wheelchair tolet access available. They have had the tolet unaccessible for 3 months now. ( door locked 25/7. The other toilets are too narrow for disabled wheelchair access. This is a violation of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992. Calling for a change in management, well over due.

Fantastic experience: I come to Pilates and yin yoga regularly. The instructors are all great but I particularly love Nariman, April and Dylan for Pilates and June and Caroline for yin yoga. Reception staff are welcoming . Facilities are clean. Overall it feels like a safe and inclusive space. P.s maybe pump up the balls in the Pilates studio a little. Have yet to engage fully with the program Eddy set up for me (addicted to the classes!) .. but was very pleased with his explanation of the exercises and machines. Infra red therapy ´box’´ is available too. I think it’s good value for the money esp as you can drop into other branches with some membership levels.

Fantastic experience: I joined South Pacific around two months ago and since starting it’s been great! The join up service provided by Cam and Noah was super straight forward and helpful! They made the whole process so easy and they’re always really helpful when I see them around the gym! I’ve really enjoyed access to reformer Pilates too and I think the quality on offer is great! Fantastic experience: South Pacific Health Club is a very welcoming gym. I was looking for a friendly community gym, as most gyms can be quite intimidating. South Pacific Health Club Hawthorn, surpassed these expectations and I feel beyond comfortable. I want to make a particular shoutout to staff members Cam and Noah who will go out of their way to help any member. I particularly like the Pilates classes with my friends my Mum even loves this place!

Negative experience: I don’t often write a review but I don’t think I’ve got any other choice. I've been a member of this gym for about 4 years, and while the location is convenient, the gym's quality has significantly declined over time. I can overlook minor issues occasionally, as no gym is perfect, but persistent problems that go unresolved week after week make me question whether management is oblivious or simply do not care anymore. I frequent the gym both mornings and evenings throughout the week, and the same issues remain. The main problems include broken machines, loud treadmills that need servicing, missing carabiner clips for cable machine attachments, broken pins for setting weights on the cable machines, and a persistent issue where the rubber on the cables slips down and gets caught on the rope. One machine has been temporarily fixed with cable ties, but the other remains neglected, showcasing a lack of care. The state of the change rooms and bathrooms is equally concerning. There's extensive damage, faulty lockers, damaged toilets, dirty floors and seating, and overall filthy conditions. The toilets and shower facilities are particularly disgusting. The entire gym needs a thorough cleaning; machines are dirty, and foam on the seats is ripped. The staff seem indifferent, often seen sitting on their phones at the entrance kicking back and ignoring people that arrive at the gym. Another issue is the influx of high school kids around 4-5 pm, who leave the change rooms filthy. Surely, someone could inspect the change rooms or adjust the cleaning schedule to address this recurring problem. I've noticed similar complaints in other reviews, so I'm not alone in my observations. Several mates have already moved to other gyms due to these ongoing issues. I hope this review is seen by management or owners of the gym and something changes. Otherwise, I’m sure it will continue on a downwards path losing members and causing a bad image for the brand South Pacific Health Clubs.

Negative experience: Signed up with this gym as apparently I wasn’t allowed a free trial session, knew I had to cancel once I saw condition of gym, tried to cancel repeatedly over the phone and was told by staff that was not allowed and that I could only pause my account which I later found out by calling other South Pacific gyms that is a complete lie. Paused my account indefinitely, found out later I was being charged again 2 weeks after being on pause. This went on for 5 months costing me $419 and I asked to get a refund from higher management and one manager said I was owed $280 in refunds, then a different manager Noah, decided that was not true Refunded me $144 and told me the old managers email is irrelevant. Wow this new management is really showing how not run a successful gym. Would’ve signed up again if my problem was dealt with fairly..
Negative experience: Gym has become dirty, made multiple complaints about Pilates floors being filthy, no change, trainers even joke about it. classes keep getting cancelled - I joined for boxing and hot mate Pilates, don’t exist anymore. Class trainers keep leaving.
Fantastic experience: I’ve just started at South Pacific hawthorn and so far am loving it. I wasn’t too sure with some of the recent bad reviews, however, after doing a tour I honestly couldn’t see what they were talking about. The women’s bathroom is super clean and well maintained. The classes - burn and reformer Pilates are excellent and the gym floor looks well maintained with new equipment. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this gym.

Negative experience: Where is your maintenance? All equipments falling apart in toilets and change room and splashes on the floor. Multiple machines are broken. My last warning before I cease membership.

Negative experience: A once excellent gym that has unfortunately deteriorated. It’s a shame to see management has sadly neglected essential maintenance and cleanliness, resulting in a disappointing and sometimes unsafe environment. Despite repeated concerns communicated to the friendly staff, there have been no noticeable improvements. The state of the equipment is particularly alarming. Key machines are either fully broken or in a precarious/clunky state, with some having been out of service for months. Other key signs of neglect: - Gym floor water fountain has been non-functional for almost a year - Noticeable damage to the drywall around the gym (sorry, an A4 bit of paper is not a suitable fix) - Adjustment knobs on cable machines have fallen off and have not been replaced - Carabiners for cable machine constantly go missing and take weeks to be replaced - Broken cable attachments are not replaced at all (I’m not even kidding, this morning there was only ONE stirrup handle attachment for the WHOLE gym) - Half the cables are missing their rubber cover / protection near the cable clip - Men’s bathroom floor is always covered in water, likely due to an unattended leak. - Majority of male lockers are missing doors or have broken locks - Toilet seat in the men's bathroom has been in disrepair for over a year. - Temperature control on main gym floor is extremely poor. Often same (or hotter) then outside temperature. - Mouthwash dispenser has not been refilled since it was installed - Missing hairdryer attachments have not been replaced - Broken plastic tubs and scattered screws and parts on the floor pose hazards. In addition to these issues, there is an overall lack of cleanliness. Floors and machines are layered with dust and grime, indicating a severe need for a professional deep clean. Please please please employ a regular maintainer and a deep cleaner. It’s a necessary step and critical for the health, safety and comfort of us members This is a call for urgent action to restore the gym to its former standard, which the members rightfully expect given the fees they pay. Negative experience: Would not recommend this gym in its current state. Multiple machines, fans and water fountains have been broken for several months now with no care or urgency to fix them. The general cleanliness of the gym is also not great, showers aren’t cleaned daily, the sauna is gross, bathroom mirror light not working. The list goes on. I’ve also showed up to sauna sessions to find it closed due to lack of staffing, which is fine if we were notified that our session had been cancelled before arriving for the appointment. Anyway, if they’re not going to fix these issues they should at least stop charging such a high membership fee until they do.
Negative experience: I’ve been a long time member at this gym, and sad to say it’s gone downhill. Maintenance is a huge issue. There are machines that have been unusable for the better part of the year and there seems to be no effort to fix them. Have raised this with staff who seem to understand and have assured me they have been escalating to head office however nothing is done. Will be looking for another gym. If you’re looking for a new gym, DON’T go here. The machines and equipment have become old and unsafe. Because machines are out of order, there are less machines available and the gym tends to become over crowded with long waits to get on a machine. ***staff are great, however maintenance is the problem.

Negative experience: The facilities of this gym have become terrible. Machines are not maintained, and are constantly out of order. Have spoken to the actual gym staff (who are lovely) and they have been trying to get it fixed for months and have said that at this point I may as well look for a new gym. It seems that the owner of the gym does not care for simple maintenance and upkeep, however will happily charge premium commercial gym prices. Save your money and go elsewhere. I will be ceasing my membership.
Positive experience: Good location, decent equipment, friendly staff. Let down by maintenance of the facility and the equipment. One of two cable machines has been out of action for about 6 weeks, a squat rack for a couple of weeks, significant water leak in the mens bathroom for a number of weeks, handles broken on a couple of other machines for months, water fountain broken for months. Small stuff that makes a big difference.
Negative experience: Good gym, good location, plenty of equipment, friendly staff. Really slack on fixing broken equipment though. There's a cable machine which has been out of action for about 6 weeks, a serious leak in the male bathrooms for a few weeks now, water fountain broken for a couple months. The locks on the lockers are cheap plasticy things as well and seem to be constantly broken. Stuff that's easily and cheaply sorted and makes all the difference.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities! Staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Joe, Jaymie and Shaylan on reception. Joe gave me a very informative tour around the building and answered all the questions I had. Would recommend!

Fantastic experience: I came through to the gym to view the facilities while my friend attended her first aerial yoga class. We were welcomed with a big smile from a cheerful Shaylan who was behind the front desk. Wonderful service and a beautiful facility with a variety of great classes and quality equipment. Both my friend and I were very impressed. Thanks Shaylan for taking the time to get to know us and our needs, and for making the visit such an enjoyable and worthwhile one. A real asset in any company where customer service and knowledge of product is vital.

Positive experience: Gym has good equipment and good space. Usually no wait on racks or machines. Good mix of classes. Easy to park. In my 3 years training there I’d say the Gym is usually clean- however can be untidy and at times quite dirty . Pretty good overall though. Some staff are great - helpful etc - especially on the gym floor. Reception never reply to emails. I lodged a couple of mild complaints in my membership - never did I get a response- and again at cancellation - no response - I confirmed the email address several times with reception. Cancelling the account is a disappointing experience - feels very “scammy” - hence the review -After 3 years of membership - I left with a bad taste in my mouth.
Negative experience: Very poor customer service. Have been chasing up refund for deactivated account for over two months. Continuously taking money from my bank account, when I have tried to follow up multiple times. Loved my experience when at the gym but as soon as I wanted to cancel they have manipulated and treated me very poorly.

Negative experience: South Pacific keeps taking money from me even after I've cancelled my account. When I created my account, I made one for my fiancé at the time and put my card details to it. So, I'm getting charged for two people. At the end of last year, I put both accounts on hold till the new year because I was getting married. Unfortunately, my wedding got called off two months before the date and I lost a whole lot of money, including my prepaid honeymoon. So, I'm so low on money and I've countlessly tried to get South Pacific to stop taking my money because not only do I barely have any money to pay bills but I'm also grieving for my loss. I'm getting charged for my ex-fiancé which is just killing me inside because it just reminds me of the relationship I lost. I'm only young and this is too much!! I've lost nearly $1000 to them this year and we've only just hit the third month! What monsters! I've had to cancel my card to stop them from being able to charge me more! I seriously cannot believe this!
Positive experience: Updating a previous review. The gym space is still large and well equipped but it's poorly cleaned. The machines are often dusty, sticky or poorly maintained. The classes are still great though.

Negative experience: Pains me to write as a long time member but it seems like the staff are incapable of caring for the gym or hiring a handyman for these repairs as the whole gym could be fixed in a day or 2. My observed list Leg curl has been broken for months Dual cable pulley has had a cable snapped Water fountain broken A majority of the male lockers are missing a door or the lock is broken Male toilet seats have been broken off and sit loosely on the toilet (middle one for over a year now) Many machines are on their last legs due to lack of maintenance, (lat pulldown, leg extensions, calf raise) Ive had to repair a door handle to one of the rooms myself because it was annoying me Numerous holes in walls Sad excuse of drywall repair in male lockers is just a sheet of wood bolted ont the wall Mouthwash machine empty since August Random screws or parts of machines all over floor. These issues could all be resolved by employing a regular maintainer even once a month and for a gym that charges $20+ a week for every member it should not be so difficult to perform basic tasks such as replacing the cable pulley (replacement cables available online for under $20) or tension the bolts on the cable lat pulldown (far from entry one) as to prevent the machine form moving upwards every rep. Not a personal attack on the staff as I believe they are great people but their friendliness cannot excuse inaction to this extent.

Fantastic experience: South Pacific Hawthorn is a terrific gym that suits all levels of fitness with a multitude of free weights, squat racks, machine weights, stretching areas and cardio. You can join in on various classes including spin, yoga and pilates or hit one of the side rooms with friends to create your own HIIT session with battle ropes, dumbbells, slam-balls and kettle bells. Regular group classes from spin to hot yoga and an infra-red sauna that can be booked to soothe tired muscles after an intense session. With friendly and welcoming staff who ensure the facilities are always clean and tidy, I'd recommend South Pacific Hawthorn to anyone looking to kick-start their training or for the regular lifter looking for a new local gym.

Fantastic experience: Signed up at this gym in January and absolutely love it. I pay for the more expensive membership and take full advantage of the class schedule. The Reformer pilates classes are great and the teachers are friendly and experienced - especially Mandi. The gym staff are friendly and welcoming. The gym floor hosts all new equipment with lots of room in cardio but not as much room in free weights. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Just joined this amazing club. The staff always welcome you with big smile. Everything spotlessly clean and sparkling. Amazing yoga and classes. The infrared sauna and room gives it a day spa feel. Excellent, easy and efficient booking system for classes with App. Class sizes not to big. You feel like you have a name, not a number. I suggested a couple of ideas for change room and the lovely Manager wrote back straight away "done" and thank you! I've always been a member of nice Gyms but this one is by far superior!

Negative experience: Seems the gym is keen on saving as much from not having the air con on properly - ever. Also no cooled water fountains, which is the first time in about 10 years of gym going

We try to set the temperature based on the majority of the feedback of our members and have asked management to review the temp. Fantastic experience: South Pacific Health Club in Hawthorn is an amazing club with beautiful facilities! Through the staff and the environment, I feel so comfortable training on the gym floor! Recently I have started doing personal training with Kirra and oh my she is amazing! Not only have I seen huge improvements in my strength, but my confidence and motivation when lifting heavy weights now has improved dramatically! Could not recommend her more :)

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love, love, love this Gym! Can’t rate it highly enough, It’s an all rounder gym whether you’re wanting to take it slow with a hot yoga class or feel like a sweaty Hiit/strength class it’s the place to go! All the trainers and staff are amazing and they are always friendly & knowledgeable! I’m obsessed with the sauna & reformer classes! This will be my gym for years to come. Fantastic experience: Such an amazing gym with great facilities and extremely friendly staff (especially cooper) who ensure everyone feels welcome and comfortable! The gym is spacious with a variety of machines/weights for everyone’s needs. Everything is clean and very hygienic. Girls bathrooms are AMAZING- I prefer getting ready there than at home! Would 100% recommend this gym to anyone!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Some excellent instructors, I've done classes with Marie and Manda for yoga.. .Marna and Erine for Pilates....and they are all exceptional ( the others probably are too, but I've not been in their classes yet).

Fantastic experience: I usually use the CBD club during the week. I live close by to the new Hawthorn club so thought I would give it a try on the weekend. Amazing gym...heaps of weights equipment and all brand new! I booked in for an infrared sauna session after my workout and felt it really helped with my recovery. Will train here all the time now!
