Fantastic experience: Jake helped me to sign up with Goodlife Balwyn this week and the process was super easy. Jake was professional and friendly, and I have already tried out few group classes. The overall vibe of this gym is fantastic, and I would recommend anyone to join this gym.

Fantastic experience: I really enjoy Balwyn Goodlife Gym I am always welcomed warmly by reception as I check in. The atmosphere of the gym is friendly and has a great sense of community I especially enjoy the classes on the different days that I go with Leanne, Jessica and Michael and Simon. . Fantastic experience: Had an awesome experience walking into GoodLife Balwyn where the friendly and helpful Jake helped me sign up! I was shown around, explained everything in full and given lots of wonderful membership options to choose from! Jake was super helpful and welcoming and very knowledge. Fantastic experience: Goodlife Balwyn has been amazing, I have met a good team and also good trainers. I have mostly enjoyed the group fitness body attack with Jessica on Mondays and Michael on Wednesday and Saturdays! Also love the range of equipment in the gym floor , staff are very approachable and always eager to help at all times. I'd definitely recommend someone to Goodlife Balwyn!!!

Over the years, I’ve faced my share of injuries, so having the right trainer is essential. Tom Lenton is an outstanding personal trainer with a comprehensive knowledge of exercises, biomechanics, and diet. Fantastic experience: I like to go to the boxhill . The venue is spacious and the roof is very high, so there is no feeling of crowding. The fitness atmosphere is also very good, and the equipment is newer than other stores.

Negative experience: Equipment is often broken, old and the poor staff escalate to the deaf ears of the management who don’t get any budget to rectify. Yet members are so damn loyal. Awesome example of arrogant entitled big corporate.

Negative experience: When I was using lat pull, a PT whose name is Mike walked towards to me and TAUGHT me sharing is caring, just because he wanted to use it. What could I do? I am just a short woman. I left the machine to him, even though I didn’t even finish my set.

Negative experience: Rip off merchants ! Despite being out of contract charge a 30 day cancellation period even though the contract expired 8 months ago! Communication is extremely poor. Put prices up without notification. Don’t care about customers. Went there regularly for 18 months and I don’t think one staff member would know my name. Customer service is appalling. Go elsewhere.

Positive experience: Good variety of equipment, a little outdated needs some TLC but never gets fully packed which means good access to equipment
Negative experience: The staff are wonderful. Management - not a chance. Hiding behind the Ts&C's of a 3rd party payment manager makes cancelling memberships far more difficult than required. Took a week to receive the invoice for the cancellation amount - in which time they continued to take money. Just seems wrong. Did I mention the opening hours? Pathetic.
Negative experience: Typical gym offering lock in contracts wherein when U relocate to a different suburb they basically stall on transferring ur membership even I called them multiple times.. disappointing customer service...

Negative experience: This has got to be the worst gym I’ve ever been to and experienced. The customer service is awful. I was forced to pay an additional $250 late fee due to the gym’s inability to cancel my membership properly. They do not respond to emails and are horrific to deal with. Such a waste of energy and so frustrated with trying to cancel membership. Plus the change in hours without notification is so so bad
Negative experience: This is one of worse gym and customer service my husband experienced. We have email in writing and said that the manager will refund the money of membership due to health condition. They are not only not refund money and they charge extra 2 month membership fee. Even he can not go to gym. The manager change mind all the time and it is totally abuse customer' rights. When you join in and they will be nice and as soon as you join in, they totally change.
Positive experience: I enjoy the professionalism, ambience, and range of equipment at Goodlife. I have a PT once a week and train two other days. My usual time is mid-late afternoon (c. 4:00pm) and I find the gym modestly populated at this time which suits me.

Fantastic experience: I enjoy the great community that has built up over the years. We come to Group Fitness to see our friends , work out together , share our life experiences and afterwards enjoy coffee at one of the excellent nearby coffee shops.
Negative experience: It is very sad that the gym has suddenly decided to change their opening hours without informing me (I guess I was not the only one) in advance. I chose this gym because of its location and initial opening hours till 9pm on Monday-Thursday (which was suitable for me to avoid peak times due to covid risk plus it allowed me to go there after work). But instead of offering any compensations, they haven't even paid back the overcharged amount when they've changed the day of the bank debit of fees and have deducted fees twice on the same week (no explanation was made if they will pay back later or not at all). 9.99/quarterly coaching fee is also very unclear as they don't usually ask each member to conduct (no emails or notifications) counselling sessions with trainers. They have never sent me any reminders until I have questioned one of the staff at the counter. They simply deduct fees quarterly... For those who don't require personal trainers, these fees doesn't seem to make sense. I am very curious how the management have been treating their customers in this way for many years without being warned by consumer affairs? Please also at least maintain your equipment more frequently as I saw some of them were not in safe conditions (some of the codes on the weight machines were worn out, etc.) and were often broken. That could cause injuries on users.
Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Goodlife since 2007 and resumed PT with Leigh, followed by Teresa and now Sarah. I am very happy with all services provided!

Fantastic experience: This is a cosy gym that's full of a great bunch of friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere for all ages and gym abilities. You won't feel intimidated and its a great place to get into exercise and feel good about yourself in a relaxed environment. I recommend for all people.

Negative experience: I’ve joined this gym since 2013 and had mostly good experience with this club. It’s located close to me with walking distance - the gym floor area is bit small but convenient. Lately the gym suddenly changed its open hours without consulting or notifying anyone in advance. The open hours have been delayed at least half an hour each day, and closing hours have been brought forward 1-2 hours, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Due to work commitment I can only come to the gym later on those days but now can’t finish my workouts before closing. I’ve been told by the staff that there is no way to change it back. How disappointing and it is ridiculous to close the gym at 7pm on a Friday!
Fantastic experience: My daughter & I share our personal training sessions with our PT - Cameron Neale. Cameron is the best PT in Australia - seriously, and while he really puts both of us through our paces, he is always bright, humorous and makes sometimes difficult training sessions almost a pleasure. Goodlife Balwyn is always welcoming at reception, spotlessly clean in both the gym workout area along with the change rooms and showers. I've been a client of Cam's & Goodlife Balwyn for 4 consecutive years and renewed my annual membership only last week as I would never look anywhere else. 5 stars from me !
Fantastic experience: I always feel good when I am able to give positive feedback. Goodlife has changed my life style and I am now hooked on getting my exercise regularly. The place is not only close to home but has a great atmosphere and well equiped. Never fail to find a car park lot, has a dedicated floor for parking. Very supportive staff as well. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: I joined Good Life Balwyn many years ago when it was called Winning Edge. I have been there ever since. In all that time , staff have been friendly, admin have adjusted payments without fuss during lockdowns, reception staff have always given a welcome if not busy and I have attended numerous classes and tried the equipment. I particularly enjoyed Zumba but have happily switched to Dance with Dylan. Over the years, I did aqua aerobics in the pool which has now gone, Pilates, Yoga, Tai Chai, Self defence, Step and bar/ barre work ( not the alcoholic sort). Fun times!

Fantastic experience: Really friendly and helpful staff. Great gym. Normally l join Aquarena in Doncaster but staying with my sister in Balwyn so went locally. Very happy. Temperature perfect in gym and classes. Normally freezing in Aquarena. Even after talking to staff and managers many times. Love this gym.

Negative experience: Pretty disappointed with the opening/closing hours. Twice now I've came at its been closed (5am on a weekday and 5pm on a Sunday). I honestly just assumed that it would be open those times. It is by far the worst goodlife I've been to but unfortunately now I'm closest goodlife. The rest are much bigger, cleaner and most are 24hrs.
Negative experience: I am giving Goodlife Balwyn 1 star for being a gym conveniently located for me. I chose them because they open at 5:30am which is convenient for me to exercise before going to work. Unfortunately, I am disappointed with some of the staff including management. Firstly, a staff member opening the gym arrived at 5:40am (10 mins late) and had no idea how to turn the treadmills on. He asked me if I knew how to!! By the time he worked it out it was 5:50 which meant I lost 20mins of my workout. Within a couple of weeks later, another staff member opening the gym just didn’t show up and many gym users gave up waiting and left. One of the personal trainers arrived at 5:55am and opened the gym. I lost nearly 30mins of my workout which I was not happy about as I am on a tight time schedule before heading to work. I emailed management to advise them and no one has replied. That is unacceptable customer service. On 2 separate occasions 2 staff members had no idea how to turn the fans on. I approached them at the desk; on one occasion, the girl told me that the fuse must have blown up and yet eventually, the fans came on. This morning when I asked the guy at the counter to turn the fans on as it was warm, he walked around but didn’t turn the fans on. I have signed up a 1 year contract with Goodlife Balwyn after the lockdown feeling bad for gyms that couldn’t operate for months. I certainly cannot recommend this gym to my friends and I am counting down the months until my contract is over after which time I will not be renewing my contract with them. Lack of customer service, staff that don’t care.
Fantastic experience: Goodlife has been my gym for the two years I have been in Melbourne. I was able to access other Goodlife clubs with my membership. Each gym is quite unique but have all the essential equipments and more! I love how spacious it is and some even have a pool, steam room, and sauna! Definitely recommend :)

Fantastic experience: This is my favourite GoodLife. The facilities are new and in great condition. Classes are great, staff are lovely. Great club. Would be nice to have more parking options but that's it.
Positive experience: This gym would have been perfect for my daily routine as Good Life exists in multiple locations. I have had a really good experience dealing Michael, he was really informative over the phone, when i came into the gym he has showed me everything around and gave me a really good explanation on what the gym is, what kind of good and local people go there, how busy it gets and locations of change rooms and taps. Now if it wasnt for Michael, his good workmanship and great personality this Review would have been 1 star and i do believe that he is worth 5 stars and more but this gym is in need of a renovation and new equipment, ive been to 2 good life gyms and both of them were in a very bad State, the ceiling tiles are so bent and old that they are almost falling off the ceiling. Equipment is very old and basically I cant see my self having a Good life while going to these very badly maintained gyms in Hoppers Crossing and Balwyn
Negative experience: I want to say I like this place but it’s really filthy. The change rooms, showers and sauna need to be scrubbed with bleach. The toilets need exhaust fans installed. And they need to vacuum every day. This tuft of hair is still stuck in the carpet from last week!
Fantastic experience: Heaps of equipment, several different rooms, and friendly staff. I've been here a handful of times and haven't had a poor or disappointing experience once. This is not a 24/7 gym, but if you're able to make it in during business hours you will find a spacious gym that satisfies many needs.

Negative experience: Gym is very dated. I was a member at another gym that was open 24hours day as I could only go late at night due to work/family commitments. Now that I am back after almost four years the gym has not changed at all. The equipment is very dated. The treadmills specially need an update as they are very inaccurate. The venue is also very small, so be prepared to wait in line to use some of the equipment. Lastly, 8am-6pm opening hours for the weekend is a bit lame. Reception staff have always been friendly. This gym needs to relocate to a bigger facility. Its outgrown its current one.

Negative experience: The facility is so old. Some staff aren’t friendly. When i cancelled my membership they charge a week more than they should. Also, when i put my account suspended, they charged me both suspension fee and my normal fee. Contacted them about it and said it was a glitch so yeah, you have to check what they took from your bank account.

Negative experience: Hidden fees. They lie about free promotions. Will promise to return phone calls but never will. This place is all about profit making. Worst experience I’ve ever had with any form of company let alone gym.
Fantastic experience: Michael was very helpful! I moved house and the location was no longer good for me and he helped upgrade me so I was able to use every location. Saved me heaps!

Negative experience: Do not sign with this gym , they charge over the top fees to do the paperwork to become a member , if you try to cancel more fees and penalties will apply loads of gyms in the area with no fees and better equipment staff very dismissive , way better options in the area .

Negative experience: Worst gym ever. There are a bunch of thugs who just want your money. Cancelling the gym membership was the most difficult thing I have had to do, even when my minimum term was over. They make it so hard. and they lie to ensure that your money keeps getting debited.
Negative experience: They lied to me about being no cancellation fee when i told them i was moving soon. After paying it they spam my inbox asking for more money. Really dodgy practices here. Also it was overcrowded, had old equipment (and no double bar free weights) and closes too early.
Negative experience: - Unhygienic (even the trainers don't wipe after themselves when they used a cadio device) - over a month 3/4 racing bike devices were out of order - but the classes (especially body pump) are great!
Fantastic experience: A great facility with fantastic staff and plenty of exceptional personal trainers to choose from. I have had nothing but great experiences here. Reception staff are knowledgeable and go out of their way. Kai Harris has been an incredible PT for me. I'm sad to leave them as my partner & I have relocated interstate. Positive experience: This gym is good for basic lifting and simple workout plans, very small work area that can become crowded quite quickly. Parking is free and available on site, however if you aren’t a good driver or have assisted parking I’d advise not to enter.
Negative experience: Gym is kinda okay. Not very clean. Parking spaces suck. So cramped. You are lucky if don't get scratches from the pillars or other car or didn't get pooed by the doves.
Positive experience: A small gym with friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: Great layout, dedicated class area, main machine weights area, cardio area, and free weights section with separate squat racks (4) and two dead lift platforms. Excellent parking available and lots of room for busy peak times. Definitely worth checking out.

Negative experience: Terrible gym to sign up.... people at the reception will generally greet you nicely, however don't expect them to solve any problem for you. customer service is especially terrible if you get them on phones. Feel like they couldn't wait to get off the phone and no one takes any accountability whatsoever. If you can, stay away... otherwise, don't expect anything fancy from them. I was stuck because of the classes and instructors I liked. Do be very aware when you sign up. They use debit successes for payment, which is also a terrible company as they mishandle payments easily ( to take more money from you as always!), Goodlife and debit success are really good are hand balling and blame the other party for any mistakes.
Positive experience: Very open and plenty of machines available
Positive experience: The staff are very friendly and helpful. They have an okay range of gym equipment. The gym itself is on the small side, however you can also use the room they use for classes (when not in use) which is never busy. Gym classes are always good, very intense if you're just starting out. After standard work times it gets quite busy, so if you like a nice quiet workout, go later or during the day, or weekends. Shower, toilet and sauna facilities are also very good. The female changing room has plenty of space, and even comes with hair dryers. Overall a good motivating gym.

Positive experience: The toilets and showers are not as comfortable as they could be. Pretty small gym space. You kinda get in everyone's way, especially on a weekend morning when everyone is around for their workouts.

Negative experience: What a horrible gym!! Read the other reviews, they say it all. They've got to be the rudest bunch on incompetent people (specifically the customer service desk staff) I've had the displeasure of dealing with. i think I met two or three who were nice but unfortunately the negative out way this positive. If you decide to move on they will argue openly with you about cancelling your membership. I never missed a payment, always paid on time and they had they audacity to make it the most difficult task ever to leave. And purely based on my experience, this poor customer service was driven by the manager. You'd expect to talk to a manager and resolve your issues quickly. Not in this gym. The manager was without a doubt the rudest person I've had to deal with. And for the record, if I could've given this review less than one star I would've!
Negative experience: The gym is very cramped. The cardio equipment is poorly maintained and needs to go back to Life Fitness Branding. The reception staff are very helpful and nice, but as for personal trainers they are very rude.
Fantastic experience: Open after a 3 month covid19 closure. But you need to book a time slot so the equipment is re-cleaned ready for the next time slot, and numbers are limited for social distancing. The people who work there are as friendly and helpful as ever. It has all the gym equipment you need and lots of classes. This is new to me I haven't been booking spots to use the free weights and this is the first I have heard of it
