Fantastic experience: my workout space reformer pilates.... yoga

Positive experience: I was a member for about a year. Overall it is a nice gym, staff are welcoming, clean facilities but unfortunately no windows in the weight room. Abductor and adductor machines would be great but are missing. I tried out a few group classes and was mostly interested in the reformer Pilates classes. Unfortunately I felt that the quality of those was inconsistent. I do like to actually get a bit of a workout in especially as I am time-poor. Some classes felt more like stretching. April however did a fantastic job you can tell she goes through her classes herself and differentiates them. I ended up only booking in with her. With other instructors I felt that there was limited differentiation and sometimes the “challenging “ version was not challenging at all. The body pump classes were good. The shapes classes felt repetitive at times almost as though we were doing the same thing every week. The speaker/microphone in the main group room is very poor and it is hard to understand the instructor over the music sometimes and I would have loved some more in person classes rather than virtual ones. Again this is just meant as an honest review and hopefully some of it can be used to improve the gym. Staff are very lovely. Probably the best choice in Albany :)
