Derrimut 24:7 Gym - Port Adelaide

Negative experience: Great equipment. Way to many gym rats. Staff not very helpful.

Negative experience: Management have decided to reduce group fitness classes to only 3 per week for the next 5 weeks from 09/12/24. It's a disgrace that we pay for our membership and are getting less and less. I hope the Management realises what a bad flow on effect this is going to have to members who rely on the group classes for their fitness and well-being. I understand that a reduction would occur over the Christmas and New Year period but for it to be for 5 weeks is ludicrous and who knows what they are going to do after that time. seriously considering other alternative gyms.

Negative experience: The gym is too crowded, and I felt like I was in a party with many people at the same time. In addition, I needed to wait for a long time to use each piece of equipment to work out.

Positive experience: Nice atmosphere, nice people.

Fantastic experience: The rest of the Derrimut Gyms can learn from this place. Clean, organised and members have respect for the equipment.

Positive experience: Pretty good overall. A few bit of broken equipment that need fixing. The bathroom facilities (individual toilet/shower rooms) were a pretty great concept and actually worked well.

Negative experience: Lady behind the counter so rude. Gave my daughter (15) and myself dirty looks when she intervened a sale to ask for ID. My daughter comes to this gym with her sister myself and her nana on a regular basis. Power trip Lady behind this counter (state manager actually according to her) might need to freshen up her customer service skills..my daughter didn't deserve the anxiety to go through her phn for her ID when it's never been necessary before and if a new policy asking with politeness is the key

Negative experience: Unsanitary conditions, Second time visiting in the fortnight with no paper towel for wiping machines down or hand sanitizer available. When asked was told they were out of stock and reluctantly offered a disposable kitchen towel from a roll. Have been a member for almost 4 months now, normally positive experiences.

Negative experience: Refused to cancel membership and this gym specifically are unreachable. Contacted their number multiple times across months and they never picked up. Contacted customer service and they lied and said they would send a cancellation form. I hadn’t attended the gym for MONTHS and I attempted to cancel the membership for MONTHS yet these guys continued to take my money. I had to resort to cancelling my card. Absolutely horrible. I’ll make sure no one I know goes here, your ‘deals’ means nothing when customer service is non-existent and your only concern is money. Absolutely horrid.

Negative experience: Funktionales Gym… für meinen Geschmack etwas zu voll gestellt. Leider wird hier auch nicht auf Hygiene geachtet. Jeder zweite Kunde trainiert hier ohne Handtuch. Die Bänke glänzen schon am Kopfende

Fantastic experience: Staff are super friendly, there's never a shortage of equipment, and the classes are always running and super fun.

Negative experience: Trying to cancel membership was extremely expensive. charges exceeded the weekly cost, and having to give a months notice on a direct debit is an absolute stitch. I will never use Derrimets again.

Fantastic experience: Love training at Derrimut Port Adelaide! The staff are always friendly - in particular this Asian girl who always has a really sweet smile on her face when she greets members! The floor is always tidy and weights are where they should be. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

Fantastic experience: I COULDN’T RECOMMEND A BETTER GYM!!! The environment is so welcoming and the staff provides a 10/10 service! The staff member on shift took their time out of their way to give me a personal tour around the gym before purchasing my membership. He explained everything with such great detail for someone like myself to understand. Also mentioned that they will be getting a massive expansion which I am super keen for Shout to Derrimut Port Adelaide! Keep up the good work!

Negative experience: Terrible staff with closet racists. One of them is “Luke” who attempted to chuck me out and cancel my membership recently because I was working out without shoes. I like training old school but apparently it’s against company policy, which I didn’t know but instead of asking me to put my shoes on in a normal, civilised fashion, this guy proceeded to try and belittle me with his condescending tone, racial slurs and threats to cancel my membership could you believe? When we continued the exchange because I wanted to make it clear to him that I won’t tolerate his bullying behaviour, he decided to come out of the reception desk and attempted to manhandle me out of the gym! It was embarrassing and took me by surprise to say the least but I stood my ground, and when other members started seeing what’s happening he backed off. This guy was literally acting like a street thug but when I came in the next day to my shock, the “Manager” tells me they’re freezing my membership until further notice. Unbelievably, instead of offering an apology and wanting to make amends, they’re siding with their racist out of control staff who should’ve been fired on the spot. Seriously these guys are a shambles and should be thankful I haven’t gone to the Police (yet). The jokers running it clearly don’t know what they’re doing, no idea about simple business ethics like customers come first. It’s what happens when businesses get too big, undeservingly. Greed kicks in and care disappears. It’s clear these guys just want to make a quick buck. Must be why they all look so miserable, all the money, no meaning. It’s no wonder many like me are leaving to join nearby Blackbird Fitness in Port Plaza. Much better gym with more space and staff that seem to genuinely care about members. Anyway I wouldn’t go anywhere near this place or these people. Save your money and sanity and find elsewhere, plenty of better gyms and people around :)

Fantastic experience: It was my first time signing up to a gym. I was super nervous as it was a new area but Angelina at Port Adelaide was extremely funny, witty, and helpful. She made the sign up process seamless and it was the most incredible customer service experience I’ve ever had!!

Fantastic experience: it hit 10:00pm & the music changed.. changed in a good way, I couldn’t help but keep coming up to the desk & asking the worker behind the desk who went by the name Phoenix for the song names, he gave off great energy and brought a vibe to the gym that made it enjoyable

Positive experience: I love this gym, great staff and great equipment. My one complaint about this gym in specific is the FOB/Key scanner... very fiddly and doesn't read well compared to the other Derrimut gyms, please replace with a better one ASAP it would be a huge improvement.

Have now surpassed expectations of my income and my professional attitude has amplified and I give credit to the business structure of the Port Adelaide gym and its staff who are willing to work alongside it's PT's not as separate entities but connected with companies staff. Great gym, great atmosphere and great staff. Come see why the company survived COVID and is still growing to this day.

Negative experience: Has to be worst Derimuts ever! Not sure what roids the 'clean' guys are on, but far from that! Dirty dirty dirty - toilets worse than public, underhanded stuff happening up front & if youre not in the bro club, you get c grade customer service! Why would I bother Jason? Really?

Negative experience: The fact I have to ask for the terrible music to be turned down every time is ridiculous. Everyone working out has headphones and you can hear the music over your own. It’s so loud and some or the worst music I’ve ever heard. Stopped training at this gym due to this issue. Also - you sell the fact staff are there 24/7 but they don’t even look up at you when you come in. Save some money and get rid of them.

Positive experience: Ample amount of space and equipments. Very well maintained.

Negative experience: Been a member for a couple of years, but the gym has def lost its appeal. Gym is dirty, toilets are worse! Deafening duff duff music! Rude staff always on their phone or just not anywhere to be seen. As soon as my membership is up, I'm moving on!

Negative experience: Went there to get a membership, the manager ignored me and I was told went to the toilet and the young girl on the desk was too busy on her phone. Will join somewhere else. Very bad service!

Negative experience: Short and simple I have been a member for 2+ years but the music at port is just soooo bad and loud. I must as well be on drug at 6am before I rock in to get my workout for the day. It just getting frustrating and irritated to be asking for the volume to be reduced and which get done at time but like I said I am sure everyone else don’t find working out with minimum volume as we all have headsets on and if the want that loud base I recommend to go to HQ because that how it feels inside here. Nb: please work on your music volume. Or I would definitely wouldn’t be staying after this membership. Kind regards Madeleine

Positive experience: Nice gym, friendly vibes, nice staff and quite spacious but kinda dirty… makes me wanna find a super clean gym where I feel comfortable to sit on the floor and not get dirt on clothes etc. but maybe I’m just fussy

Negative experience: Pretty dirty enclosed gym, alot of admin fees much better gyms around opening up lately

Negative experience: The gym itself is cramped but ok. More recently machines have been literally been falling apart as you use them, and its not as clean and neat as it used to be! The staff are E grade! Rude female works the morning, condescending rude lads on the afternoon shift. Always on their phones, slow as, rude if you ask them any kind of question ... actually makes me not want to train at Derrimuts altogether!

Positive experience: Gym feels a little dated but is a good size and is well spread out to cope with foot traffic. Diverse range of equipment available as well to cover most if not all needs. Good lighting but smelled a little stale on my recent visit. Parking can sometimes be a mongrel for quick easy access and confusing for first time visitors. Some machines are a bit tired and worn out (squeaking rollers on bike and treadmill, pads cracked and missing fabric) but the rep working that shift didn't seem too interested was on the phone both times I went to pass on feedback. Only little gripes but worth the feedback. All in all a better gym/location than others I've been to.

Positive experience: Nice atmosphere, music horrible and way too loud. Definite down side is that i struggled to get any sort of phone reception or data on my phone to listen to spotify.

Positive experience: Overall, it's not a bad gym. It would get more stars if they didn't have the music so loud. On one occasion, I asked a member of staff to turn the music down, but 5 mins later, when one member of their team decided to work out, they turned up the music again. Total disregard to your customers, Derrimut!

Positive experience: Spacious gym with load of equipment. Multiple squad racks with enough Olympic bars. No real change room , just a large bathroom with a shower. No lockers but you can leave you bag at entrance in shelving provided. Staff very friendly , nice protein and other products for sale at entrance $15 for day visit.

Negative experience: Probably the worst of all the Derrimuts I've been to: Not enough equipment, less than half the squat racks or benches at other gyms, no change rooms and the doors on all the bathrooms are broken, literally held together with tape, squat racks missing parts to actually hold barbells properly, flooring feels hollow, and of course like all Derrimuts the music is too loud Even basic things seem to have not even been taken into consideration when the gym was set up, for example the benches are so close together that you cannot rerack the weights correctly without blocking the weights on the opposing bench Hey, at least it's cheap

Fantastic experience: Very good gym. All types of exercise machines and facilities available here.

Negative experience: Gyms good, but 70$ in joining fees is outdated and predatory.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with good facilities and staff. It appears that they have toned down the terribly loud and annoying music that was played in the past. That is appriciated, please keep the music low as everyone has headphones in anyway. Thanks.

Negative experience: Why the hell is this place so loud? Everyone has headphones in and doesn't want to listen to the trash they play at 200db. It's a good gym, but because they sold way too many cheap memberships to kids now you can't move in peak hours, so avoid them if you can.

Positive experience: Great classes, if you are into Group Fitness, the classes are great. Nice gym.

Fantastic experience: The staff are fantastic - helpful, friendly and very welcoming. The gym is quiet big, CLEAN, has lots of equipment, a decent sized women's area, a fairly decent sized grassed part for workouts or stretches, huge posing room for the gym rats, staffed 24/7, lots of equipment, store has alot of clothing, drinks, meals, snacks and supplements. Personal trainer Bailey is great with his clients and very engaged and focused towards results. High recommend Bailey out of the 3 available at the gym. Music level is also fantastic, and I personally love it being louder in the mornings for motivation despite those who have complained in other comments. People at the gym are lovely also, and all the regulars tend to know one another, so it's kind of like a little gym fam! If you're considering trying this gym out or have had a poor experience elsewhere, please give this gym a go. I would highly give you my recommendation Keep up the great work, Port Adelaide Team.

Negative experience: V small space with too many machines in it… they really need more better exhaust system with more bigger space… Staff @Welland Branch was very rude… Melrose Park staff is v nice and helping…. Windsor Garden is big enough to workout without any suffocation…

Positive experience: I love this gym, great machines and weights available. The people are mostly friendly. Sometimes people don't wipe down the equipment after they're done or use towels on the machines but meh I can't really do anything about that. My only true gripe - PLEASE play something other than ear-splittingly loud hardstyle. Some drum n bass, techno or psytrance would go down a treat. Sometimes I've been in and the same Uberjakd set is playing, mix it up a little.

Positive experience: Needed a new gym after losing motivation, I’ve been at Derrimuts for a couple of weeks and so far I’m really impressed. Huge range of machines and weights, it’s very clean, and the people there are respectable. It can get busy at times, parking is difficult and the music is a bit too loud, but overall a great gym to workout at affordable price.

Negative experience: The manager at this port Adelaide gym doesnt seem very upbeat and friendly, iv been going here for over a year and she has never really spoken to me, unlike the other staff members who are so lovely! I lost my white gold diamond earring at port Adelaide derrimuts and it was found and I'd claimed it. Then when I went back to collect it 10days later as our family had been sick, I was told the manager threw everything away the contents in the draw when in a bad mood. Instead of the staff having a system where they put valuables in snaplock bags (especially after being claimed) my earring was disposed of and given way less respect them a lost towel or drink bottle. I'll still continue to go to derrimuts but definitely not happy with the way this manager runs this gym Location and how this situation was handled. Don't feel valued as a customer at all. I had 2 emails from her and 1 phone call justifying her actions rather then acknowledging a procedure error here and a genuine apology. Honestly that is all I wanted! If my earring was claimed 10days prior by myself under no circumstances should it have been thrown away. Her response was all lost property gets disposed of every 2 weeks. (Still doesn't warrant what happened to my earring) I am lucky I can claim this under my insurance, (which is costing me $150 excess, which is fine considering they were $1600 earrings) but I definitely do hope that the manager and one staff member involved have learnt to follow or (if not already like most gyms) implement a procedure for claimed and clearly valuable items in the future, so no other member has to go through what I did when it really wasn't necessary

Positive experience: It's a very good place to workout in, I use the girls room and I smash my workout with no problems. Appreciate the kindness from everyone and its overall a place to work hard and keep motivated. I deducted 1 star because of covid lol

Positive experience: Mostly good! Bench Presses they got are waaay too low though if you're interested in power lifting. Impossible to get in a good position to bench with a good form. Would be okay if they at least had moveable flat benches with decent height but they dont either. They got one flat bench which is also too low. Would be a 5 star otherwise.

Positive experience: Fantastic range of equipment, clean, smooth to use, huge space. One of the best facilities I've ever used. Only 2 male 2 female toilets disappointing for the size of the place. No wipes, only handtowel and spray. Can't even see it working or cleaning the equipment. Much prefer wipes.

Suggestions eg:Rock from 60s 70s onwards, zeppelin, doors, Hendrix etc and mix with other present pop and trance..
