Fantastic experience: MacFit has re-engaged a love of exercise in me, after a long period of doing nothing. As someone who hates the gym, and was struggling to find any form of exercise motivating, this is exactly what I needed. The style is welcoming for people of all ages and fitness levels. I love that the focus is on achieving personal goals while ensuring correct techniques are always maintained. Trainers are friendly and motivating, and the class sizes mean you get the right amount of attention (not too much, and not too little).
Fantastic experience: At the start of the year I was going to try a few small group training gyms to see which was the best fit. MacFit Duncraig was the first one I tried, and it was so great I never tried anywhere else and signed up. The team is great, the vibes are always on, the coaching is super helpful and tailored to you- no matter your ability level! Starting as a total weight lifting newbie, I would never have imagined I would have progressed to where I’m at now six months later. Bring on the next six months. Thank you James, Jax & Lukas for all your hard work and dedication every week.

Fantastic experience: As someone who was always so anxious about going to a gym, MacFit has been so supportive and have met me where I’m at in my own fitness journey. My PT sessions with Lucas and Jax are amazing. Fantastic experience: This gym stands out as one of the best I’ve ever experienced, thanks to its exceptional program design that consistently delivers visible results. Over 5 months I was hitting PB’s I’d never hit in the 10 years I’ve been training! The team of coaches, are more than just coaches. Jax brings SO MUCH ENERGY and ofc outrageous dance moves. Lucas is kind, attentive and always makes us laugh (even if it is at his shocking parking skills) and James is the role model behind it all having your back on every lift and subconsciously making you a stronger human in many ways. I couldn’t recommend more, 12/10.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely unreal gym. All the coaches know their stuff and are fantastic at welcoming people into the space no matter if they are gym junkies or new lifters. Likewise, they are great at encouraging new lifters and pushing experienced lifters to an appropriate intensity. I constantly find myself pushing to my absolute limit and having a sense of accountability to keep showing up enforced by being a part of the MacFit community.
Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend MacFit enough. James, Lucas and Jaxon are all knowledgeable, engaged and always striving to help you meet and exceed your fitness goals. They always push you to be better and after every session I feel I have had a win. Not only do I love coming but the MacFit Pups sessions are fantastic. This is what introduced me to MacFit in the first place. Sensible coaching that really help kids with their fitness as well as providing mentoring. My boys, 12 & 15 are adamant that whatever other sports they are doing- MacFit must be part of their weekly schedule. As a result of James, Lucas and Jax they have built a fantastic supportive community- every gym session you know will be full of encouraging people that want to see you succeed.

Fantastic experience: Love my sessions at Macfit! I've been working with Jaxon in 1 on 1 sessions for around 4 months and I've loved every minute of it. I've seen huge improvements in my technique, strength and I'm in much better shape too. Jaxon is really helpful in all aspects and has brilliant knowledge to help you progress as well as quality banter, couldn't recommend this place enough

Fantastic experience: Honestly - would give 10 stars! I’ve done both group classes and 1:1 sessions. James is training/helping me to recover through major injury - he’s so intuitive and knowledgeable about the mind and body working together, his attitude is so encouraging and I’m healing faster through MACFIT training than any other form of physical rehab. The community built with other trainers and group classes is so fantastic and inviting, you feel right at home and it’s the best kind of wholistic training I’ve experienced. Rock on

Fantastic experience: Only started here in the second half of last year and I’m stronger than ever. James, lucas and Jax are amazing trainers who really do love what they do. They make an effort to know everyone who comes in and out of the gym, by more than just a name. Best decision I ever made was sending that text to James, I constantly underestimate myself and my strength. They truly know how strong I am and what I am capable of. I’ve never dreaded coming to a session (PT or group), I have always felt welcomed and accepted.

I am being pushed further than I ever thought possible. The encouragement from Coach Lucas and the other Macfit members is so welcoming! Fantastic experience: Been apart of MacFit's program since late February 2019. Can easily say that I never imagined i'd be where I am today. Weighing less, lifting more - It's been an awesome journey over the years. James has built a great community and environment where anybody is welcome, no matter what shape/size or the amount of knowledge regarding training/gym work. The space is full of quality equipment, with a diverse range of exercises and programs - That make you feel you are building towards something, rather than going through the motions. If you're looking for a great space to start exploring your body and seeing what it's capable of, I can't recommend MacFit enough!
Fantastic experience: I am the sort of person who comes and goes from fitness, never having found somewhere I really enjoyed. Enter Mac Fit. I was referred to Mac Fit by a friend and have been going for a couple of months now 3 x a week. James and Lucas (trainers) have a genuine care and focus on their clients and outcomes. It's a friendly, fun, no-ego environment that keeps me coming back! AND delivers results.

Fantastic experience: My son joined Macfit pups 2 months ago, and I joined a couple weeks later after having a few conversations with James. I did have reservations, being the wrong side of 49, being built like a toothpick and never having set foot in a gym before were a few.I wasn't interested in lifting heavy weights. Building muscle condition and strength to improve my running was what I was after. From the first day I walked into the gym I haven't looked back. Welcoming, friendly, encouraging and motivating are a few words I could use, not just about James Tammy and Lucas but about the whole feel of the community. Its just such an enjoyable place to be be in. 2 months down the line my running is improving and my body is so much stronger and conditioned than the day i walked into the Macfit gym. Thanks Mark
Fantastic experience: James has created such an amazing friendly & non-judgemental community at Macfit. The workouts are challenging but allow you to do what works best for you with out unnecessary pressure from trainers. James’ focus on mobility allows you to get best out of your workout and he is always dividing his time between class members to ensure everyone is working at their best and is always happy to help! It has been a great introduction to weight training where I felt supported and encouraged. I highly recommend!

Well structured routines, good instruction and a great community to work out with. I have a good few years experience working out in group sessions at various gyms. MacFit is definitely up there with the best! Loving it!
Fantastic experience: MacFit is the best gym I’ve ever been in. Hands down the best, and the reason I say that is because James really cares. He cares about me as an individual, he cares about his community and most importantly he cares about making MacFit the amazing place it is. I love being a little part of this community and I tell everyone about it. I’m the 40 something guy who works, has a busy family life, gets distracted easily with things and struggles with consistency and carving out time for the important things. I’m no athlete, not even close and I have never stuck to going to the gym before in my adult life until now. I’ve started plenty of times before, gotten injured, gotten bored, didn’t feel the motivation to keep doing it and usually within three to six months I was done and on to the next part of life. I’m still not consistent enough, and I juggle my priorities too much which takes my time away from the Gym, but over a year later I’m still booking in and getting in those doors to train with the group. And it’s because he cares that I’m still there, and that makes me care.

Fantastic experience: As a mom of two little kids, my time at MacFit is incredibly important to me. There is always an amazing energy and sense of community which I have never felt in a gym before. It doesn’t matter what weight you lift or how fit you are- James and the MacFit family cater to everyone and you never feel out of place!! Fantastic experience: I started with MacFit just a few months ago and it was the change I did not know I needed. James has taught me to slow down and refine my movements. As a result I am lifting heavier weights with much less pain and fatigue in the hours after. I cannot recommend this space highly enough. Small group workouts that have atmosphere and accountability.
Fantastic experience: MacFit is one of my favourite places on earth! I’ve trained at a couple of different strength and conditioning gyms but nothing compares to this place! At the time I stumbled across MacFit, I was in search of a facility where I could prioritise both my physical and mental health, with a community of like minded humans which I have well and truly found. Attending a session is a welcomed relief from the outside world, to step inside those doors and be welcomed by friendly faces from all walks of life and either James or one of his team amping you for the class. MacFit is the ultimate facility where you can create the best version of yourself, and this is what MacFit has fostered for me. Coach Mac listens and continually helps me on the path to achieving all of my goals. I’d truly be lost without his constant guidance and support. I feel so lucky to know him and be part of this incredible community.
Fantastic experience: I’ve always loved exercise and the way it makes me feel, however every attempt at finding a trainer/gym that continues to make me feel comfortable and holds me accountable has led to a dead end. James at macfit has not only done both of those things, he has changed my relationship with my body and how I view exercise. James goes out of his way to check in with you, regardless of how busy he is, and genuinely loves sharing his knowledge with anyone who needs advice. This gym is 20 mins away from my house, but it’s worth the travel for the top tier training I receive.

Fantastic experience: November 2021 I rang an enthusiastic James Mac to discuss my husband's and my needs regarding fitness classes. I explained that my husband, who had been diagnosed with Parkinson's twelve years ago, needed targeted attention to ensure he maintained his mobility and flexibility. Fantastic experience: Joining MacFit has helped my health significantly (physically and mentally). I joined MacFit a year ago when I was 15. I had never stepped into a gym or lifted a weight before and was instantly welcomed by the James and the community he has built. The quality of the sessions is like nothing else and the trainers here are the best of the best, always improving and keeping things fresh. I have been here for 1 year now and have seen huge improvements in my strength, mobility and athletic capability. I have also learned a lot about my body and how to move safely and with good mobility. The trainers and members both contribute to a great welcoming community vibe that makes you just want to keep coming. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for years to come.
Fantastic experience: 100 sessions down at Macfit but I knew from my first trial week that I'd be hanging around. I am so grateful for James and the amazing community he has built. James is 110% invested in every clients journey - I hadn't been at the gym long when I had to have surgery yet upon my return I was nurtured and encouraged to keep turning up. I have gained strength, mobility and an understanding of the importance that these go hand in hand. Everything about this place is top notch - the space, vibes and people. I can't fault it.
Fantastic experience: Joining MacFit was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I’m so thankful to James and his team for creating an inclusive, welcoming community, it’s only been a couple of months but the changes in my physical and mental health have far surpassed anything I’ve experienced in other training environments. I attribute that to the care and expertise of James and Lucas. This place is not just a gym! It’s a community; a safe space to explore, improve and test your body’s abilities. The holistic training programs James crafts are fun yet challenging, always with a focus on bettering yourself, while listening to your body. The people you share the gym with are a bonus - it’s pretty special to be able to walk into a place with people from all walks of life and levels of fitness, yet not feel intimidated or like the odd one out (even if most of them are fitter than me). Everyone had a laugh and encourages one another. Dog friendly, kid friendly, great tunes, great vibes and 10/10 coaching from people who dedicate their lives to heath and fitness. What more could you ask for? P.S: for the first time in my life I’ve attempted big lifts with weights I’ve never felt safe to even consider previously (and even it it doesn’t move an inch, I gave it it a try because James/Lucas/the community encouraged me to, and that’s pretty damn exciting). Fantastic experience: I began training with James a few months ago after I realised the support i was given by trainers at my old gym when returning to training after having a baby was not good at all! I reached out to James and instantly i could see how passionate he was about his work and ensuring each and every one of his members gets the best out of their training. From day one I felt welcome, i have learnt so much about the importance of mobility in my training to improve my form and allow me to progress and finally after years of high intensity and excessive training i have learnt from James that more is not always better. I am absoloutley loving training again and so happy i found Macfit. Highly recommend !
Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with James for a few months, and I can’t recommend him enough. He has reignited my love for exercise and movement, I look forward to every session with him. I’ve struggled a lot with finding an exercise routine I actually enjoy and want to stick to, but it was instant at MacFit. James pushes you to your limit and knows what your capable of, even if you don’t see it yourself. He has become a friend over the past few months and someone I really trust. I am just sad I didn’t join sooner.
Fantastic experience: I began training at Macfit around 3 or 4 years ago, when I was about 15. In complete honesty, at the time I had a very toxic relationship with exercise and initially joined the gym as a way to punish myself and my body. Training with James has not only tremendously transformed my strength, but also my entire approach to exercise. Not only is he an incredibly skilled, passionate and knowledgeable PT - but also a great mentor with so much advice to share. The atmosphere James has created at Macfit is unmatched. Everyone is welcomed and celebrated and it has been an awesome community to grow up in. I'm now 19, and am so excited to see where the rest of my journey at MacFit takes me - I can't wait
Fantastic experience: It's been a long time since I've done much in the way of consistent exercise and as a forty-something guy in a job that involves a lot of sitting, I had really starting to feel it. The intent was good, but too many false starts and for whatever reasons I wasn't comfortable to stick with it. James has structured a programme focussed on strength and flexibility which has really helped with the pain and niggles I have been struggling with for the last 12 months plus. Being well and truly out of shape I certainly felt the first few sessions, but quickly built some tolerance and endurance. And with the pain subsiding exercise is now a lot more sustainable for me. The Macfit gym is a great atmosphere and for me the results speak for themselves. Most days most of the pain I was experiencing has gone, and I am confident that in another few months it will be eliminated. For me this has been a far better outcome than previous attempts via other trainers and exercise physios. Some great results and the comfort and confidence 'to keep turning up' has been a big factor.

Fantastic experience: Prior to joining, exercise was secondary. Most places I tried out either made me feel intimidated or overwhelmed that I never could sustain it long term. I had been looking for an environment that could guide me in the right direction and help me discover my full potential. I met James and the Macfit community and my mind immediately was put at ease. It clicked together naturally and it quickly became a habit. To this day it’s something I choose to be at every chance I get, 1 year 3 months later…. I’m still loving it! The programs are designed to challenge, yet never feels unachievable. The people who you surround yourself with at training will greet you with a smile and be your biggest supporters. The Macfit community is unique and something I am proud to belong too. James isn’t just your trainer, but a dear friend you have always needed. He wants to know your story and it’s a real gift that he shares with you his. He’s forever continuing to explore ways to improve our mobility, and the strength and conditioning training I never thought possible to do, I now continue to push for more. The experience to date has exceeded my own expectations x 1000000. I highly recommend jumping on board and being part of this amazing community.
Fantastic experience: Physical strength and mental growth. I had no idea of expectation walking into Macfit for the first time but this space and guidance has changed my life - for real. The space James has provided has allowed me to develop my strength and test my limits and has pushed me to grow more in the last 6 months than I have over the past 6 years of training in many other places. Through the confidence and support James has given to me, I have been able to build a solid foundation to train and become more mobile through my movements. Being a small gym the ability to also grow a relationship with James has been incredible. The level of knowledge and life advice this man has given means more than anything else and in turn, has helped me also grow confidence around the gym. The physical strength and understanding of movements he has taught me in training has allowed me to become grounded and solid to also move through mental growth. If you want to level up in life this is the place to start. You'll be surrounded by great like-minded people and a fierce, energy filled trainer. No regrets on making this move.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training in gyms for the better part of a decade. Mostly alone, trying to avoid crowds and other people. As a generally introverted person I was nervous about being part of a new community, leaving the 24 hour gyms, training without headphones and all the normal worries that come with trying new things. Most people will see exercise as a punishment. Training at MacFit is a celebration of what you can do (no matter what your fitness level is) and the things you can achieve. It has been almost 2 years since I signed up and it has been one of the best decisions I have made. Not only for my physical health but more importantly my psychological well being. I was instantly welcomed by James and a loving community of people who I can truely call friends. James has an in-depth knowledge of health and wellness and that clearly shows even after one session. His goals are as specific as you want them to be. If you need direction, he will influence that change.
Fantastic experience: For me, training with the MacFit Community is as much about the people as the training. It is a supportive and encouraging environment that allows you to push yourself to new achievements. I find the programming is very inclusive (I am one of the older members of the community) and there is certainly no judgement (other than positive) on how I approach my training. I have not missed a beat with my commitment and that is a tribute to Coach Mac.

Fantastic experience: Had never previously been to a gym in my life as I didn’t like feeling judged by trainers/big ripped body builders From my first session at macfit I felt accepted and cared about straight away James is a great trainer and friend He genuinely cares about each and every person that goes there no matter their situation, he just loves to see people grow and achieve their goals James is always trying to advance in himself so that he can share the knowledge and passion to others I would/do highly recommend him to anyone who is keen to make themselves stronger/fitter/skinnier or whatever, he’s your man

Fantastic experience: If you are thinking about giving Macfit a go, do it. My only regret is not joining this community James has created sooner. The gym is welcoming to all and exercises I previously viewed as intimidating are now some of my favourites. Another huge drawcard for me is the inclusion of mobility exercises as it’s a unique offering that my body is very thankful for. James pushes you because he knows what you are capable of and pushes you to your limit not someone else’s. Going to class is not just ticking exercise off the to do list anymore, it’s enjoyable and challenging….who would have thought you don’t have to burn yourself out to get better results! I feel stronger, healthier and happier than ever before both mentally and physically. Thanks James!

Well his focus is long term - building strength is important, but so is mobility and restoration. When I didn’t want to vomit after my first session (like my usual PT) I wondered if I was pushing hard enough but it’s just a bit different. My body is changing. How? Well a 10 second handstand turned into 60 secs in 3 weeks. I can lay my hands flat when I try touch the ground and I’m lifting heavier weights. I love that we’re asked to do exercises I’ve never seen before (because your average PT session is pretty standard isn’t it?), I love that James lets us know how to look after our own body and what’s great to see is that he leads by example with his choice of food, training and mindset! He’s super fit - I bet even the blokes have checked out his bod haha! But most importantly - there a community there and we have fun. The community is pretty cool. Macfit - supporting the physical and the mental! That’s fundamental change right? Not just lip service!
Fantastic experience: I have tried a lot of gyms in my time, and MacFit trumps them all. After years of HIIT training and cardio sessions, my results became stagnant, and with the same exercises day in, day out, I became super demotivated and resentful of the gym. James has created something special at MacFit, it’s not just a gym but a community and happy place for each one of his clients where they actually want to be. Each session is filled with various exercises, where you are treated with the same amount of energy, enthusiasm and attention as if it's your first time in that gym. Fantastic experience: I've been a member of MacFit for about 18 months now. I've tried many different gyms and forms of exercise but I found it really hard to stay committed long term. Once I joined MacFit I knew I had found my place. James not only focuses on strength and conditioning, he also makes sure we spend time on our mobility which has been so beneficial for me. I've gained so much not only physically but mentally too. James honestly cares and it shows. MacFit isn't just my gym, its become my family.

Fantastic experience: I came to MacFit after spending 3 months training at F45. I loved the group training and social aspects but always felt exhausted after a class and was starting to get minor injuries. I was looking for something similar when a friend suggested I try a class with James at MacFit. It immediately felt like what I had been looking for. Supported training where the coach actually watches over all members and corrects your technique. Coming from a yoga+pilates background where you stay on your mat the whole class and rarely talk to people, its been really nice getting to know all the members and workout with such a fun , friendly bunch of people.

Fantastic experience: I go to MacFit with one of my clients Robby who is a person with a disability but James doesn’t see that side of Robby he looks at him as another person who just wants to go to the gym, a key example is yesterday’s session where he gave Robby a challenge like he would any of his other clients.
