Negative experience: Gym is good but busy. Classes are not intense and are only okay overall. Lots of hidden fees so be aware… Elixr try tie you into long contracts with expensive fees to get out of. Just quite a sneaky way of running a gym, in my opinion. Pool is nice but very busy. Staff are pleasant.

Fantastic experience: Elixr is honestly the most welcoming gym I’ve ever been to! The staff are always smiling and super helpful, making it such a friendly place. Their reformer Pilates classes are amazing, with a big focus on getting your form right. This really makes a difference and helps you improve so much faster! The instructors are fantastic and really know how to guide you through it all.

Negative experience: Awful service when cancelling. Been a member for 2+ years. When I moved and needed to cancel, it is made too difficult. This results in overpaying. Despite having an app allowing for freezing etc, no ability to cancel in the app, and no one replies to emails. Despite the email being a valid email used for a previous freeze period and confirmation over the phone it is correct and monitored. When I then re-sent my original cancellation to include another email provided by Elixr, no response despite 2 additional follow ups! When I called, I received nothing but attitude. When still no confirmation of cancellation, I had to call back. I was then sent details with an incorrect cancellation date +1 week from my original cancellation . Resulting in paying 3 fortnightly DD’s when already cancelled and breach of the 30 days cancelation period. If this was another industry, it would not be tolerated and deemed making cancelations too difficult for customers. You need to do better for your customers!

Fantastic experience: We are so happy with Elixr swim school for my 6 year old child who has struggled at other swim schools with a lot of anxiety. The school has been very thoughtful in their allocation of teacher (Sienna is just wonderful). They proactively reach out to parents to ask about special needs and strategies they should know about. There’s not a scramble to reenrol, it is automatic rollover reenrolment as a default. One week Sienna was away and the staff were very responsive to my request for a similarly encouraging substitute teacher. Sadly, at another swim schools, we have had a mix of teachers who have been very critical, moved my child’s head with their hands, despite me repeatedly explaining that these strategies are not appropriate for my highly sensitive child. Keep up the good work!

Fantastic experience: I recommend Elixr 100%! For the first time I've been able to work out a fitness routine with all the classes (it's impossible to get bored) and the variety of time slots. I always find room for the classes I want. The staff are welcoming, the instructors are all friendly. The pool is heated, so it's a pleasure to be able to swim there in winter, and there are plenty of events all year round. Elixr provided me with everything I needed for my fitness routine

Fantastic experience: Easily my favourite gym in the Junction. Doesn't smell like most of them, probably because they use carpet rather than the rubber matting. So many pilates classes. Only complaint is the new swipe in tags are slower than the previous barcode system, and unlike the latter, you can't keep your credentials on your phone. The gymmaster app does allow Bluetooth logon though, which is helpful. The pool is incredible, my only wish is that they had a lane for free play and swimming, not just laps. Shizuoka the massage therapist is also excellent - easily the best I've had.

Fantastic experience: From the moment you walk in to Elixr the staff at reception are smiling. The instructors are lovely and with a huge number of classes to choose from there’s no excuse for not mixing it up for your workouts. The weights section is not full of ‘grunting blokes’ who hog the machines (which was one of the reasons I left my last gym) and there’s a lovely pool. Overall Elixr is a calm space to spend an hour or two - for mind and body.

Negative experience: The classes are good but very busy. The pool has 50 old ladies every morning at 11 am, with 2L water bottles for 60 minutes of aqua aerobics...... Think about that! READ your contract very carefully, you are signing up for life unless you pay heavy penalties. I recommend any other gym before this one and I have been a personal trainer for 15 years.

Negative experience: I enjoy the Pilates classes here although it is clear that they focus on quantity rather than quality. The classes always have a lot of people in them and it’s often hard to book in your preferred class times. The classes also lack variety with a lot of instructors often repeating the same movements each class. The studios are not very clean compared to other boutique studios I’ve been to. The gym also always smells unbearable because of people walking barefoot and I don’t think they steam clean the carpet. A monthly steam clean would make a world of a difference or remove the carpet entirely.

Negative experience: This review was posted several months ago and suddenly disappeared - that's why I REPOSTED it yesterday! I'm not the only member who complained - check out Paul Gradwell some reviews below! I'm a very unhappy customer used to be an ELIXR member for many years, the only classes I took at the time were Aqua Robic’s. In those years there was no need to book a class. I decided to sign up again in June last year and found out that you have to book a class now - 3 days ahead from 11 am. I soon found out that Aqua Robic’s is a very popular course which made it sometimes difficult to book a class as they were booked out within 4 and 6 minutes. As I only can attend a class twice a week, it was annoying, but I usually was able to book a class. But since early this year it became extremely difficult to book a class, often the classes were full between 1 and 2 minutes. The only reason can be that too many members were allowed to join. It became really stressful for me and out of total frustration I decided to cancel my membership. Instead of some empathy or ideas that could help me to reverse my decision, I received an email on what my ‘membership obligations’ are. The last ‘charming’ paragraph read: Departure Fee: In order to cancel the membership effective immediately within the minimum term, the departure fee has been reduced to 50% of the remaining fees plus an $80.00 administration fee which, as of this email, is $440.00. So, for anyone who plans to sign up, be very careful! especially if you would want to join an Aqua Robic’s class. __________________________________________________________ Follow up response by the owner! Hi Matty, we are sorry to read you have had a negative experience as a returning member. Our aqua aerobics classes are extremely popular, and in light of this we have already made changes including increased capacity in 5 sessions, and a trial of some evening sessions in the works. We have done this to ensure our members are as best serviced as possible. We would also like to highlight that during the month of February our membership usage is always at its highest. This usually tapers off as the beginning of year, and holidays come to an end. We have already seen a noticeable difference in attendance. I can see that our cancellation team has had regular contact with you, noting there are a number of options for early cancellation, including options to improve your experience if you decided to remain a member. The departure fee is our last option as its not usually the best preference financially. We do have other options that are available, all noted in our initial email. We hope that you will give your membership another chance so you can resume the class you enjoy. We will wait to hear a response through our cancellation team in regard to your decision. Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Elixr for more than 15 years after a friend introduced me with a trial membership. Since then I have been coming more than three times a week to participate in an amazing range of classes! From yoga and Pilates to dance and kickboxing - there is something for anyone at any time of life or with any fitness need. What I love about this place is the feeling of community that the team and members have built. I have made so many friends over the years, people that I wouldn’t have otherwise met through work or life. That is incredibly motivating and brings so much joy to my experiences in the gym. I love the way that the classes are filled with a diverse range of people at all ages and different stages of fitness. There is a generosity of spirit where people help and support each other in their personal journeys whether that be mental health, fitness or just fun. Elixr is a place for the mind and the body, a place for people to grow, as I have and to make life long connections with teachers and classmates. I can’t recommend it highly enough - there is nowhere else like it in Sydney.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my kids to Elixr Swim School for around 4 years now and I am very happy to do a review for them because they are simply incredible. Victoria and her team do such an amazing job, making the little people (who are already nervous) so comfortable to swim, whilst making it fun for them to engage and enjoy. Fantastic experience: I really enjoyed my experience at Elixr Health Clubs - my past three months here have been nothing short of amazing. As someone who really values the wellbeing side of exercise, Elixr is great for a holistic experience of physical activity. The staff were extremely welcoming and the instructors were all very helpful. They have multiple activations throughout each month with complementary prizes and they're a really great way to meet people around the area. I attended multiple pilates classes, yoga, stretch and fitness classes and thoroughly enjoyed the reformer pilates. The facilities are always really clean and I have never experienced a gym/health club similar to Elixr!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loving training at Elixr. It’s quite different to any gym I’ve used before, they really take a holistic view at training and how it’s not just for your body but also your mind. They put such an important emphasis on recovery (cool downs, stretching, warm ups!) which is great because a lot of other gyms don’t! Air HIIT or Spinning are some of my favourite classes for a real sweat & then the Pilates classes are a nice middle ground with the Yoga being more zen. Yoga Wall is amazing - what a stretch! The women’s showers have a women only steam room built in too which I love getting into after classes! Highly recommend

I was recently gifted an amazing prize for referring a friend to join and I have to say the prize surpassed any expectations I had. Fantastic experience: I swim most mornings at Elixr. It offers a calm space to look after your body and mind. If you're looking for a gym that's heavy weights and mirrors, this isn't for you. Elixr is simply better.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a member for a while and in my opinion is the best gym for Pilates and yoga. The instructors are knowledgeable and lots of time slots available. The exercise bikes and treadmills gym equipment are good and updated . Clean gym and changing rooms. It also has a pool with classes for children and adults.

Negative experience: This is the worst public bathroom in Australia or this Elixr don’t want customers use the shower to save money. 1) Moldy bathroom. Imagine the frustration of dripping water from the moldy ceiling overhead when you just finish shower and get dressed! Thanks super quick removed it and hope keeping longer. 2) Your towel and clothes can only be hung behind the door, The other side easy but belong to next door.., if you use it the next customer will angrily remove it back to you. You can only open the bathroom door naked in the eyes of customers who are just washing their hands and then go behind the door to get towels... stupid design. Can be fix easily if set 2 more hooks at the end of the bathroom, then everyone can use the doors open side… 3) Very light frosted glass cubicle shower room no privacy at all. I’ll give 5 stars if elixir can set 2 more hooks and do something for shower room privacy.

Highly recommend to anyone as she is so knowledgable and attentive, in addition to having such well structured classes. The gym runs very smoothly, and scheduled classes run exactly to time. The reception staff are friendly and even offer you a smiling face when you check in. Elixr gym is a real gem in a sea of noisy, crowded, unfriendly and messy health clubs. I'm so glad I came back after first joining in 2006 it's changed my life.

I picked it because it was spacious, aesthetically pleasing, clean, organised & had an extensive yoga class schedule which was my main interest. Over the years, i've tried the pilates, kickboxing, dance, aqua, spin & more & have always been impressed with the quality of the instructors, quality of equipment & how many classes are available throughout the week. it offers great value & is suitable for all ages & all bodies. it also feels inclusive, safe & enjoyable to visit. my level of yoga is much more advanced & being a member has kept my fitness & health on track & even though i've moved further away, i'm still here. i love it.

Fantastic experience: Amazing swimming teachers for the kids. My kids have made so much progress thanks to the professional and patient instructors who also care for them and help them overcoming their fear of putting their heads underwater. The classes size are perfect and the teaching techniques are really good. Other places I've tried before cancelled the term in the middle of it as they could not find swimming instructors. Really thankful that Elixr managed to always maintained the classes over the last year.

Fantastic experience: I discovered Elixr when I was 30 years old on Park street CBD and became a member. 20 years later, I am still with Elixr. Besides being overseas for a couple years, I live and breathe through Elixr for its amazing Pilates & Yoga classes that I simply cannot live without. The teachers are knowledgeable and the environment is not your usual commercialised sweat pumping gyms. It has a calm air floating in its space. I highly recommend anyone who’s into self care, holistic wellbeing and overall fitness to be part of this small and amazing community. Namaste

Elixr is above and beyond the best, unparalleled teachers, a comprehensive class timetable and somehow still incredible value, especially for reformer Pilates. I drive 30-40 minutes each way from the inner west to go to Elixr Bondi because it’s JUST THAT GOOD, it’s so worth it.

I cannot say one negative thing about their highly qualified teachers; cleanliness; equipment....especially how they handle and treat members during the pandemic was flawless. Negative experience: Staff and teachers (a part from one really nice one) are the rudest people I’ve met in the training industry. It’s super hard to book into morning classes (outcome of overselling memberships, they now have same amount of spots as pre covid) and to be able to book you need to log in right when the bookings open. All in all, had the worst experience training here. Strongly suggest you avoid this place

Negative experience: Their app is buggy and you have to open and close it sometimes to see if a class has really been cancelled or booked so it can happen that you think you have made changes but that's not the case. Even though it's their own system's fault, they'll still charge you $10 if you miss the class.

Positive experience: Update after about 5 months of being with them, 4 stars instead of 5 now: They have been charging me 2 no show fee despite showing to the classes! They it pass scanning system is really terrible. Barbara at the reception has been so helpful when I became a new member and had questions. The club is so beautiful and the teachers are truly passionate about what they do.
