Negative experience: great gym equipment, etc. but they charge you here and then an additional annual maintenance fee. it’s not like you are paying anyways your membership fee already.

Negative experience: Don’t get sucked in by these people and their so called ‘heavily discounted’ memberships where they lock you into a contract, make you pay an additional $100 to transfer memberships and ask for an annual membership fee on top of what you’ve already paid. Oh and an additional fee to replace swipe. They also have zero empathy with anyone’s personal situation, relocating for work etc. They deserve to be sent to the Office of Fair Trading and Ombudsman. Unscrupulous and robotic in their responses. Maybe try having a little bit of a human response to each individual situation.

I highly recommend to visit this gym, maybe it’s not to big as another ones, but it’s all about atmosphere. From the first step in you feel right. You feel home.

Fantastic experience: I have tried several gyms/fitness centres in the Stafford area, but Powerhouse Gym Elite receives the gold. Staff - Helpful, knowledgeable, actually care and are interested Equipment - Quality, ample choice, clean Pilates - haven't tried it yet but will do so soon Restrooms - Clean, modern, sauna, showers lockers, hairdryer PT - Wagdy really knows technique and how to plan for the end goal without causing pain. I'm fatigued sure but do not pull up sore next day. In general, the best gym 24/7 access. Loved the fact that there are several females that also train there very inclusive. And no hard sell of any products. 10/10 Powerhouse Gym Elite Stafford.

Fantastic experience: Exceptional Gym with Premium Equipment.... Powerhouse Elite provides an unrivalled experience within the fitness industry! I personally love the Death Star feel of the black on black and it is practically impossible to have a bad leg training day here there are so many unique pieces to choose from . The gym is kept impeccably clean the Equipment well maintained, nothing is ever out of order and the owners and staff go over and above to try and create a total gym experience from a fully stocked supplement shop, merchandise, pre workouts and suprisingly great coffee. It is definitely worth checking out !

Fantastic experience: Easily the best gym I've been to. Equipment is well maintained and never out of commission for more than a day. Atmosphere is pretty serious but also friendly and the price is the best I've come across. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: The equipment is solid and provides good infrastructure to have an effective workout. Facilities are alright as well, can get crowded. The staff and the business practices however leave plenty to be desired. The culture is the standard "meat-head" environment, if you're interested in a body building specific gym, I recommend World Gym literally down the road, I'd even rate Anytime higher than this garbage. I'd recommend you avoid this place, a $10 pair of dumbbells from Kmart would be better. If you change your mind, as others have noted, they'll try to intimidate you with "debts". Simply a garbage gym ran by garbage people, go anywhere else.

Negative experience: First of all . The gym was very nice at the beginning very welcoming , now it’s become one gloomy negative space , staff are not nice self righteous individuals , they have no people skills , gym most of the time I go It’s always a mess , Instead of hiring school girls hire people that have actually customer service skills, Half the time I can’t see as the lights aren’t very welcoming at all . A memebership I won’t be renewing for poor quality service . If you want bang for you buck with a better atmosphere go train at powerhouse Southside

Negative experience: I stopped into this gym while in Stafford shopping centre to purchase some supplements and save me a trip to my usual supplement store. After making my purchase the man out front proceeded to ask me why I wasn’t a member of this gym. When I stated I was already a member of a gym and told him which one he then scoffed and belittled my gym. I stated that I liked it for their classes he interrupted me to say they had classes (never mind their classes are not the ones I wanted, he seemed to assume all I was interested in is reformer Pilates classes. I also have no interest in HIIT classes held outside in this Brisbane weather). He then lectured me that my gym was the biggest rip off and bully me for being a member there. I stated that at least with the amount I pay I do go and I am happy there. I then basically had to run out of there to get away from him. It was a very uncomfortable experience and is a very poor way to entice new business.

Negative experience: I don’t go to this gym but I was solicited out the front by a short bearded man whilst heading to Woolworths. At first the interaction wasn’t bad but when the guy asked what gym I went to alls he could do was bag out my gym and say poor things about it. Pretty poor strategy and questionable ethics to defame other businesses in order to get new members.

Fantastic experience: Great gym and great atmosphere. Has a large variety of equipment, all of which is very high quality. I'm quite tall and the variety of equipment fits my height well, in particular the leg machines which at other gyms I usually don't fit in.

Positive experience: Very friendly people go here and the front counter is always friendly. PROS: - equipment range - air con strong - infrared sauna - dumbbell range - lighting and ambience - location near shops - price cheap (compared to mainstream gyms) - coffee machine CONS: - lack of space for functional work outs. It’s not ideal in a subtropical climate to be doing HIIT and functional workouts outside in the blazing heat. The functional space outside in theory is great but it needs a sun roof to protect us from the sun. - outdoor space gets closed at 5-6pm anyway and you can’t access it… so if you train PM … :/ - no dedicated space to warm up and cool down - lack of cardio equipment and space - machines and squat racks packed so close together (literally have to squeeze between machines to walk past) - lockers in bathroom with no keys (permanently locked and not in use) - no sanitary bins for female toilets: small office bins used - water pressure at taps and showers slow: water saving clearly - infrared sauna for single use only (doesn’t fit much else) and takes 15-20 min to warm up - bathroom cleaning happens rarely ➡️➡️lock in contract - $350 to cancel within term and $100-$150 upfront sign up fee !!!! Overall is aesthetically pleasing but functionality as a gym is minimal

Negative experience: Attended over a year ago and decided it wasn't right for me so cancelled. They are now sending debt collectors after me claiming I owe upwards of $1000 which is absurd and untrue. When I tried contacting the company to dispute they blocked me (which is incredibly suspicious) and now the only way I have contact with them is through the debt collection agency. Don't sign up unless you want to be scammed.

Negative experience: The star rating isn't towards the gym itself but more towards the bearded employee who was soliciting the business out the front of the gym yesterday. His behaviour towards me when I refused to engage with him was concerning. I said no to a chat on my way past first, then on my way back, I deliberately walked on the far side of the walk way opposite the gym. This guy left the front of the gym, walked across to me and started to force engagement, ignoring my "No". I had to tell him to f-off for him to stop, to which he became passive aggressive. I found this guys behaviour threatening, inappropriate and a poor example of how this gym wants to portray themselves. Someone needs to let this guy know his behaviour is not okay and to respect someone's wishes not to engage. I certainly hope if this man is a trainer that he doesn't make his clients feel their space has been violated.

Fantastic experience: My favorite gym I’ve ever belonged to! The people are dope and supportive, and the gym is fitted with the best equipment. There are machines I have never seen before, and all very high quality. The gym also has Sonos speakers everywhere so even if you forget your headphones you can still have a good workout with legit bass! I do wish they played more hip-hop & rap though. Accessible 24 hours with your key card, and relatively cheap price per week compared to other less nice gyms.

Icalled multiple times which would be understandably annoying for front desk, yet Zara picked up every time and answered all my questions very nicely and was extremely patient with me. She assisted with all my requests, and even gave specific insight outside of the questions I asked which helped tremendously. All of the gym staff are extremely nice, and when considering the facilities on offer this gym is one of, if not, the best gym in Brisbane. It also has a student discount, and kids are also permitted to access the gym by themselves as long as they have parent permission. The gym's community is also very nice, with the gym overall being a friendly place. Cannot rate this gym higher, amazing experience.

Negative experience: I recently had an experience at this gym that I feel compelled to share in order to shed light on their deceptive business practices. The gym had been promoting a free pass to try out their facilities, which piqued the interest of my family of three. Little did we know that this enticing offer would soon be overshadowed by hidden costs and misleading information. Upon arriving at the gym, we were greeted by staff who promptly asked for our addresses and personal details. While initially brushing it off as a standard procedure, I couldn't help but feel a lack of warmth and genuine hospitality. Nevertheless, we proceeded to test out the gym, which did boast some commendable exercise machines and equipment. However, as we approached the front desk to inquire about membership options, we were caught off guard by an unexpected revelation. The staff at the front desk explained the various membership packages available, but then casually dropped the bombshell that there was a "casual entrance fee" of $20 per person for that day's gym usage. This fee will be only waived if we join the gym today. Otherwise we will be charged for the casual visit fee. To our dismay, this fee had not been mentioned anywhere on their website, nor had it been communicated when we provided our personal information earlier. Feeling deceived, I politely questioned whether my $20 fee could be waived, as my partner and his child were interested in joining the gym. Unfortunately, my request was met with a firm refusal from the staff. The fact that this "casual entrance fee" was conveniently omitted from their promotional materials and initial interactions is not only misleading but also reflects an unethical business practice. We ended up paying a total of $60 to try out the gym, despite their advertisement of a free pass. I believe it is crucial to bring awareness to this hidden cost disguised as a free pass. Prospective customers deserve transparency and honesty when considering a gym membership. It is my hope that by sharing this comprehensive review, others can make informed decisions and avoid falling victim to such deceptive practices.

Fantastic experience: I've gone from a commercial gym to a different private gym to now Powerhouse and I have to say it's the best. The equipment is brand new, there is at least two of everything and each machine has settings that allow you to hit at least two different muscle groups if you want to adjust it. The staff, particularly the owner goes out of their way to be really helpful and supportive and even at my previous gyms (one of which prided themselves on a friendly environment but failed to deliver in my opinion) I hardly got as much friendly acknowledgement from the staff as I do from this gym. There are canned preworkouts and protein shakes available in vending machines and there's even an attached cafe that mixes up some pretty mean preworkout drinks too. You can stock up on supplements from their huge range, and nothing seems to be 'pushed'. Another great thing is it being 24 hours with a massive carpark at the back. The bathrooms are great, the lighting is perfect. Overall it gives off the impression that they've thought of everything and more. Probably the biggest issue is that it gets untidy very quickly and I have only once seen the staff doing a lap fixing things. Ideally gym-goers should keep it tidy, but when all the attachments are piled up on one machine or the weights are all put away oddly it definitely slows down a session. The men's bathroom can get messy too and in my whole time there I've never known the paper towels to be refilled in there. Overall great gym. Can't fault it on anything other than ambiance and things out of its control. About 4 friends have joined on my recommendation.
