Negative experience: Nice workers just equipment broken all the time never fixed dirty bathrooms sauna always disgusting needs to be cleaned and fixed always trips out

Negative experience: I got a foot infection from the sauna and steam rooms they could atleast hose the sauna and steam room down even once a week? it smells like death in there.

Negative experience: Starting to be a bit dated. Average gym. Maintenance is a real issue. Items unrepaired for a long time. Sauna is constantly not working or tripping out. Change rooms aren't very clean & most lockers don't work. Tiles lifting in the steam room. Hard to contact front desk via phone.

Negative experience: WARNING! To anyone considering a membership with genesis, especially on the back of any promos claiming "no lock in contracts", They ABSOLUTELY WILL LOCK YOU IN TO A CONTRACT, only it's worse than that, the contract will be with a third party company called "debit success". Go and look them up, they have 1.4 stars from 250+ reviews all giving varying horror stories of extra fees charged for no reason, and the agreement with them is violently predatory, charging exorbitant fees for any missed or late payments as well as making it almost impossible to leave the contract in the case of financial hardship. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY CONTRACTS WITH DEBIT SUCCESS OR GENESIS FITNESS. Oh and as an alternative recommendation the Forum at the University of Newcastle does not take part in these kinds of predatory contracts or false promises. Give them a go!

Negative experience: It's good spots in warners Bay residents and also good access to car park, but it's too busy, need to add some mirrors and training machines

Fantastic experience: Great gym..plenty of space for all sorts of training styles ..people are normal and good all round healthy minded crowds.

Negative experience: Staff are so ridiculously unhelpful Rang up to enquire about joining - no answer 4 times I thought fine - They are obviously busy Sent in a customer enquiry form - no answer for 3 weeks till I finally decided I’d go thru social media instant message. When I finally got an answer staff advised me they hadn’t received my enquiry which was complete garbage as I had received an automated response saying my enquiry was submitted and recieved and they would be in touch in 48 hrs. Then they quoted me an astonishing $1817 a year which would make them the dearest gym I’ve ever seen. When I queried they then said “Oh we thought you were enquiring about a coaching zone” At NO POINT did my enquiry mention those words. I had CLEARLY asked how much is it for a years membership to which they replied with a weekly price. When I stated very clearly I wasn’t interested in weekly instalments and wanted to pay it all up front what I recieved in reply was 3 more times staff quoting me weekly fees. Clearly the staff who answer customer enquires have severe issues with reading, listening and understanding customer general enquires. I have now since found an alternative optio. My advice would be Stay well clear of this place and thier staff if you value yr insanity! Mike

Negative experience: The staff members at this gym have no idea how to do a simple downgrade. Had to ring the gym multiple times to get the answers I needed. Was told by one of the managers I was receiving a “favour” I never asked for. Probably because no one could answer my simple questions on downgrading. Had to ring the gym multiple times to find out when money would be coming out of my account, and if I can access Pilates. A service I was paying for, for 4 weeks as per their downgrade policy. Why wouldn’t I be able to use a service if I’m the one paying for it. Would never sign up here again. Waste of my time contacting a gym that never answers their phone.

Negative experience: 3 times so far we have been in so called manned hours to join up and no one was there we were wanting to join up 3 memberships but no one serves people there apparently or goes home 45 mins early to advertised staff hours

Positive experience: Good floor and the facilities are ok. Great people! The best aspect of this gym is the classes and cafe.

Negative experience: Gym has a decent selection of equipment. However, they are really lacking when it comes to cleanliness. The floors throughout look like they hardly ever clean them. The bathrooms and locker rooms are very dirty, and all the equipment is dirty as well. They obviously do not clean here. My shoulders smelt like 100 different peoples sweat and cologne after doing 3 sets of front squats.

Fantastic experience: Awesome facility and friendly staff. The choice of Nautilus machines and such a large gym makes this one of the best in the area in my opinion.

Positive experience: I’m a member at this gym and was very excited that my parents are now joining the gym too. When I joined, I got a walk through your, and sat down one on one with an instructor and talked about the type of membership. However, disappointingly, my parents did not get the same. They were told they were “good to go” after receiving the FOB. They’ve left confused and anxious about entering the gym. On a lighter note, the classes are wonderful and very inclusive and attainable

Negative experience: Took 3 months to cancel my partners membership while they charged him for it and now cancelling mine as the womens amenities have been out of order (no light in shower, taps off wall, broken lockers) for over six months management continues to say they will fix but do nothing. Save your money and time. Much better gyms out there with working equipment and amenities

Fantastic experience: Love this gym! Instructors a great, classes are awesome. Gym is well ventilated and lots of equipment. My only complaint is that I feel the ladies toilets need to be cleaner (or people using them) and new toilet brushes required in all the cubicles, otherwise TOP GYM & PEOPLE !!!!!

Fantastic experience: Genesis is a great gym, friendly knowlegable staff and instructors. A good selection of group classes and time slots. I like the sauna and steam room. The online booking system is easy to use and they accept fitness passport.

Negative experience: Its nice that they have a sauna. A lot of the equipment is out of order and most of all they are ridiculously hard to get a hold of... you would have more luck contacting aliens from another planet then this lot.

Positive experience: Horrible setup, definitely need to spend money on new equipment and taking time setting up the gym, Maitland genesis has a way better setup and more equipment. Plus the change rooms absolutely stink. Who puts a sauna in the change rooms then carpets the change rooms?

Fantastic experience: An absolutely top class gym! The equipment is plentiful and modern. The facility is large, which gives you space to work out without worrying about running into anyone. There are quality PTs there for you, who can work up a plan for you. Being open 24 hours is a great convenience too, and there's tonnes of parking. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic gym with amazing staff that respect all fitness levels and provide the best classes they are amazing and there is so much choice. My teenage boys are coming with me at 6am as they even feel comfortable there!

Fantastic experience: I joined Coaching Zone 7 weeks postpartum of my 4th child, I was apprehensive but a friend referred me to the club so I decided to give it a go. I got a 2 week free trial, but after my first session I was hooked and joined straight away. I've now been coming to the club for 3 months, nearly everyday, and loving it. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the coaches give you the push you need to keep you on track. I love Coaching Zone and highly recommend the classes to anyone wanting to make a positive change physically and mentally, it was the best decision I made, and you won't be disappointed!!

Fantastic experience: Although I have only attended a total of three times I have been made very welcome. I found instructors aware that I am obviously older than most and they made sure that I was ok. I have enjoyed my experience so much that I have joined for 12 months.

Fantastic experience: As a new member of Genesis I couldn’t be more happier. The staff are super friendly, more than happy to be helpful in anyway they can. Especially love the variety of classes, I sort of feel like I am spoiled for choice. The gym is light and open and has a really good atmosphere and parking isn’t a problem.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful, big, open, airy gym with loads of great equipment for all types of training. Heaps of lockers, clean bathrooms (with hairdryers and hair straighteners if you need) and the staff are really lovely and helpful. Something for everyone!

Negative experience: Robbed me. Sent me a phone "scratchy" to win a prize. Came up that I got a $200 discount off renewing my expired membership. Looked for the catch, terms and conditions, but non to be found. Wouldn't honour the offer. The catch was that you could only see the T&Cs BEFORE you scratch. After scratching they disappear. Why would I read T&Cs before I even knew what or if I had won? Complaints ignored and manager didn't return my call as requested.
