Negative experience: Honestly so disappointed with anytime fitness in general, every branch I go to, including the mt Waverley one I visited today is just so filthy. The machines in every branch doesn’t look like they’ve been cleaned since the day of installation. The squat bars wiped down literally leave dirty black/brown build up of dirt. Unfortunately stuck in an 18mont contract now but extremely disappointed. Compared to training day or fitness first where they literally scrub the bars and machines are always shining and clean. Don’t even get me started on the state of the bathrooms, absolutely disgusting

Positive experience: Equipment and fit out is old but has everything you’d reasonably need

Fantastic experience: This is a great gym. It’s on the small side, but has everything you need. The equipment is a little older, but it’s being upgraded. The manager Serena is one of the best people you’ll meet. When I had an issue with my membership she went above and beyond to sort it out. Any time I’ve had to chat to her about anything it’s like speaking to an old friend and she will always help. Parking is generally not an issue, however the car park is small and shared with local businesses so at peak times I think it would get quite full, and street parking is restricted so that’s something to be aware of. The one thing to be aware of here is disability access - it’s three levels and all stairs so anyone in a wheelchair or who has issues with stairs would be limited to the lower level which is weight machines only. However you could use the lower level at Mt Waverley and go to the nearby Glen Anytime for the rest (the Glen is much more expensive so you’re better off joining at Mt Waverley and visiting the Glen)

Negative experience: I have asked staff multiple time to reduce the music volume. Super annoying when music is blasting.

Fantastic experience: November 2023 I lost my job, I had just recovered from my multiple surgery done on my foot and my partner and my housemates were away. After the company broke the news to me I came home in an aw expression trying to figure out what was happening, I came home and naturally went into survival mode trying to cancel any subscription and keep myself in a tight budget. I called anytime fitness mount waverly and that was the first time I had talked to Carmen, I explained my situation to her and she said, “she understood”. I wasn’t in a good place mentally and I wanted to isolate myself. After a few days Carmen called me back and motivated me to come to the gym. She said she talked to the management and they were more than happy to look after me for a month. I didn’t wanted to go out or do anything but their effort pulled me in. For the next 3-4 weeks I went to the gym met so many of the staff in there. I was afraid to break the news to my family and friends cause I really worked hard for that job, but Carmen , Tishan and Chad and many of you guys helped me get back on my feet and gave me company. Gym started to feel like home to me❤️. Carmen, tishan, chad and the management, I’m eternally grateful of you guys for giving me hope in life. Because of you I’m now back on my feet and working on my dream.

Fantastic experience: Have been at this gym for over 2 years. It has plenty of room and lots of great equipment. Not too busy so you get access to the equipment and machines you want to use.

Negative experience: I have asked management multiple times over the years to take me off their mailing list. It's some sort of secret practice of anytime fitness mount waverley to re-add people who are no longer with their gym to their mailing list every now and again to send more spam emails. I would suspect it's illegal to retain such information and constantly do the opposite of what customers have asked. Doesnt surprise me based off my experience from this gym and having read the other reviews. 4.0 rating is highly inflated here, i would personally give Anytime mount waverley a solid 2.6/5.

Negative experience: fancy painted walls but everything you touch is old and rusty. The only perk is it's empty, you can easily see why tho. No aircon or fan and it's really humid after hours. They Don't even bother to label the weights. Toilet door is broken too lol. Just go to glen 2mins away

Fantastic experience: I have a few issue on the very beginning but I wrote it on last survey and I was surprised that someone contact me about and it was very nice chat. A few weeks late, I started to see a lot changes, including staffs, damages materials, a cleaning facility. I want to tell you have a great team working there, Serena, Jasmine and Joash, they created a friendly and harmonic atmospheric all the time. Serena, always around checking if any one needs help. Personali can say that Joash helped me many time when I got a sore because my high intensity workout, Monday to Monday. Overall, after a few months I was happy to be in a 1 year 6 months contract. Say thank your team to helped me to change my mind without to force me to be in a contract, just creating a good ambience.

Negative experience: Broken equipment, weights everywhere, very untidy and unclean.

Fantastic experience: I suppose in the end, the whole life becomes an act of letting go, but what always hurts the most,is not taking a moment to say good bye . Stacey and staff doing their best to improve support in the gym.all staff is so cheerful .very spacious and ample parking.

Negative experience: **GYM OWNER NEEDS TO STOP MAKING FAKE ACCOUNTS AND LEAVING 5 STAR REVIEWS** Cleanliness in this gym is appalling. How does Anytime Fitness expect to "make healthy happen" when gym management can't even clean the gym? Equipment is extremely dirty, no wet wipes provided... Only a home made urine spray and tissues to wipe down equipment. Also, the ventilation in this gym is non existent. I can smell poo throughout the gym when someone uses the toilet. Why is there a make shift toilet and sink in one, which you have to flush to wash your hands? Also take a look at the most diluted hand soap I've ever come across. Additionally there is HazMat in the ceilings. This place is a joke and a health hazard

Negative experience: This is the worst gym ever! “Mike” who’s the manager here is full of lies and very unprofessional. Canceling their membership is not possible at all. Think twice if you’re considering this gym.

Staff are present most of the time, and very supportive - helping to create a great environment. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe & convenient gym that's open all the time!

Negative experience: Cancelled membership but was charged again the next month, wont give money back just told to use it for another month! Pity way to overcharge people

Positive experience: Honestly this gym really needs a good clean and service, its just messy. It is an old gym, the equipment is showing its age with even broken equipment left on display. It definitely is in need of a makeover and some tender loving care and a good spruce up to be up the standards of current gyms. This gym feels no love Since writing this last review, they have listened and have worked hard on getting this gym up and running again. The floor space is well set out and spacious, no more broken equipment. Only con now is the free weight plates really have no where to live and you struggle to find matching sets especially in the lower numbers, that definitely needs improvement and also the free boxing room needs a makeover, that room is a bit of a hazard with equipment all over floor with no particular home.

Negative experience: TEN years ago I had a trial here, didn’t like the place and didn’t sign up. I unsubscribed from their constant junk texts etc. Just last week I started getting SPAMMED again, telling me that the new glen Waverley gym (same franchisee)is opening. Who are these clowns that keep my details for TEN YEARS then think its OK to send me garbage? No respect for privacy. Never getting a cent out of me ever. Avoid.

Negative experience: Felt like i was being forced to join and felt like staff was impatient. Kindly highly recommend you share with you customers the contract before they sign anything

Negative experience: Everything is ok until I wanted to cancel my membership. I was only made aware of a 30-day written notice rule when I told the club I want to cancel. However, the direct debit did not stop after 30 days and I was being charged for nothing. This club seems to largely ignore the franchiser's email requests after I got them involved and repeatedly made empty promises about when my refund will be processed. I am still waiting for Anytime Fitness Mount Waverley to pay back the money they ripped off from me to this day. If only it was as easy for an average consumer to engage a debt collector... :)

Negative experience: they don't respond to emails so don't bother. no free wifi, you have to like their Facebook page first. There are weights laying around everywhere, even at 9pm, it's really untidy. i tried quitting this gym in person and the staff member told me that I won't be charged if i never set foot into the gym again, in case i change my mind and want to come back. They charged me twice after that. I called them and was told that my issue has been taken to the "accounts team", so it's "out of their hands". I called again weeks later and told me I'd get my money back "this Friday". I called again and they said i had to give 30 days notice to quit which is why they charged me twice. ?? So i was lied to the whole time.

Negative experience: Absolute garbage of a place and owner, they just try to grab as much money as possible.

Negative experience: This is sadly a very poor gym. And I can't recommend going here. I have some honest feedback which I hope the gym takes on board and tries to improve from: - There is a lot of mould on the equipment. It needs to be cleaned. The pull up machine in the corner (Next the stairs) has very poor grip so it is NOT safe to do pull ups on. I've fallen from it recently. - You need proper santitiser wipes to clean eqipment. Other gyms have them, yours does not. Instead you put out a few tissues and watered-down detergent which is a joke. - The staff need to wear their masks. They walk around laughing and hanging out chatting without wearing masks. I'm talking specifically about the staff members named Mike and Tishan! Please wear your mask It is not hard to wear a mask and it is so critically important during these post-COVID times. - The toilets are disgusting and I refrain from stepping foot in there... In general, this is just a very unhygeinic gym that is not well maintained. Gym users need to clean their eqipment after use, but ANyTime fitness should atleast provide something to help clean the eqipment! I honestly think they need to hire a cleaner...

Negative experience: got scammed by mike the con artist. bloke took 14.95 out of my account twice during lockdown and never refunded it. poor form

Negative experience: This franchise does not care about their members or customers at all. Owes us a refund for a fully paid membership and this still has not been honoured, a full 12 months after the initial request. Despite having completed all the appropriate forms that were sent by the gym themselves, the manager Mike will give you every excuse under the sun as to why he can’t process the refund, including ‘can’t get a hold of the accounts team, will process and call you back in a week, can’t find you in the system.’ Disgusting behaviour and truly disappointing. Have email and paper trails and am ready to take further action. Other gym members who are reading this and experiencing something similar, please feel free to contact me.

Negative experience: Genuinely the worst gym in glen waverley/mount waverley area. They will do their best to scam you for all the money they can get. Highly proficient in committing fraud and scaming all their members.

Negative experience: Prompt on asking for your money, but very dodgy when it comes to returning YOUR money. Gym was okay up until they did a brief equipment hire. They took my money and never returned my bond. Even after half a year of constant emails, visits to the gym and phone calls, all i was advised by the manager that 'accounting team will look into it' and that there was 'no number for the accounting team or head office' Thanks Sher Perceptions Pty ltd, its come down to this..return your customer's money!

Negative experience: Cancelling gym membership is very hard at this club. They will tell they going to transfer the account to someone but that’ll never happen. And when we wanted to get in for a short term one, they don’t have any transfers left and you have to get a whole new package. These guys only concern about money. I had a very bad experience and still paying for them eventhough I’m not going there for over 6+ months.

Negative experience: Absolutely dodgy gym and unprofessional, especially Mike. I have had to terminate my membership due to medical recommendations. Now each time I contact asking about termination, Mike tries to put up absolute BS excuses such is email is not working. Do you self a favor and find another gym with better ethics and practice. Sad to see such unprofessional staff ruining the brand name as well. Also a word of advise, if you are signing up for the contract , you better be ready for it as cancelling it, even for fair reasons will bring out the true nature of these businesses. Shame.

Positive experience: A good gym, but too many people with no gym etiquette leaving the weights around. Management should be stricter as they pose hazards.

Positive experience: not a bad gym. But one of the older anytime fitness gyms. There was a few machines missing handle grips and torn material. Not the cleanest one either. But did the job.

Negative experience: Cancelled my membership with them and they continued to withdraw money from my account even after the 30day cancellation period. Have contacted Anytime Fitness multiple times and money was never refunded. Have had two other friends with the same experience. Do not choose this gym

Fantastic experience: Such a creative and efficient use of open space. Given the large number and variety of gym equipment, you would think it would feel overcrowded but instead the arrangement of everything makes it a great free flowing space. The staff were also very friendly and lovely!

Negative experience: Deducted money from me after I cancel my membership. Ask for a refund. They told me is being processed and I could get it in a few days. But after 1 month there is no progress. Been trying to send them an email couple times. No reply. *Updated 8/01/2020* Tried calling. A girl named Natalie picked up, said she will call me back in a sec. 2 days later. No call :) *Updated 28/01/2020* Still tried emailing and calling. Nothing has happen. Has given up. No refund nothing.

Negative experience: I signed a contract and I was told my contract would terminate after 1 year. I said OK and signed, but turned out that was not the case. I simply cancelled the direct debit order after 1 year, but I received a call a few months later saying I still have to pay, and I needed to give 1 months notice before I can cancel. This is NOT what was told to me when I signed up. I am at hundreds of dollars loss for nothing, because the guy that assisted me literally misleaded me. And a final note: the dirtiest AF I have ever seen

Fantastic experience: Cool ambience. Managers are really helpful. Had personal training experience with Tishan. He is very helpful and gets you results as he promises. Been to few anytime fitness in this area, but this one seems pretty big and has many equipments.

Fantastic experience: The space is nice and open with lots of gym essentials and some extra handy equipment. The gym has a very special community feeling that some other anytime fitnesses I’ve been to don’t seem to have, also The staff are very helpful and friendly. Summary this gym is perfect for a regular gym goer and anyone who wants to begin their own fitness journey.

Fantastic experience: Staff are really helpful and friendly, especially Mike. Gym has a good anount of space for what it costs. Gym goers are also friendly and doesn't waste time mucking around. And the evolt used to measure body fat is a good bonus.
