Negative experience: Good gym with lots of gear. This not helped though by poor service introduction from counter staff, full personal details required and a $25 casual training charge. This a shame as I'd come from overseas and looked forward to a train with a close friend. He was very embarrassed. I won't be back. Will stick to my gym next time, Snap are much more consistent and friendly/ welcoming.

Positive experience: Its an OK gym but not totally friendly for women, let me explain.. - There is no hip thrust machine or hip abductor machine yet there are how many machines for shoulder alone? - Only have old fashioned metal clips for bar, i don't have the grip strength to even use some of the old ones and sometimes spend more time getting them on and off a bar than lifting (please consider transferring to plastic clip style, friendly for everyone) - Kettlebells start at 8kg, quite a few exercises i would do with a smaller kettlebell (halos for example) but cannot. Same comment with medicine or weighted bouncy balls (balls are too heavy to do wall tosses) The gym is large and has a good energy but there is an abundance of teenagers. Not to blame them but coincidentally it is the messiest gym I have ever been to (especially on Saturdays). I went to squat yesterday, the only available squat rack the bar was on the floor with 160kg on it (abandoned). If you can deadlift 160kg you should know better than to just leave it there. Luckily someone helped me unload it, but the underlying culture of not putting equipment away is rampant.

Negative experience: Friendly staff and members seemed very friendly. Sadly the equipment doesn’t match the nice layout and modern style of the gym itself. I’m not sure which other location they got the equipment from but it definitely wouldn’t have been new when the gym opened. I’ve also never trained at a gym with such disgusting toilets/change rooms! Luckily I’m just using a week pass due to being here for work or I’d be definitely looking elsewhere.

Negative experience: Dirty, bathrooms are never clean, never spray or towels to wipe equipment down and staff always standing and talking whilst equipment is all over the place. Half of the machines are always out of order.

We aren't sure if you've left a review for the right place, as we are a gym, but we'll take it! Haha.
Negative experience: Ok Gym, one of the worst in terms of service and cleanliness in the surrounding area. Very often there are no paper towels in the toilet/changing room. When staff onboard new users they don't show the clean down of equipment therefore pretty much no one does. Peloton teachers have the volume up so loud that it is uncomfortable for other members on Mondays and Wednesdays. Super crazy when you can hear it at JBHIFI downstairs.

Negative experience: was the best gym ever until they put in those AWFUL blinding new lights. came in for a workout and immediately left to another gym after my eyes started to literally hurt from the brightness. the light trails were burned into my eyes whenever I closed them. please change the lights back or at least turn them down!! (this applies to nighttime gym goers)

Negative experience: Not the best place to train. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this was way too busy, rundown and small to even get in half a workout. Basically bumping into other people mid set to try walk to the next piece of equipment only to have someone on every single machine in there. Everything is old and falling apart too. Don’t bother. There are way better goodlife gyms around and for how busy it is I think they could upgrade a few things.
Negative experience: The only reason I like this gym is cos the times I go (usually between 10am- 1.30pm) there’s a few less people than peak time so its slightly more possible do a workout and have room to do so. The good stuff kinda ends there. - The dry sauna is NEVER WORKING - this is a big draw card for a lot of members and it’s never functioning, which is so frustrating. - The paper towels, cleaning sprays and/or antibacterial wipes are NEVER stocked. Yet they want us to maintain hygienic training conditions. - There is a lack in the weights of smaller dumbbells (<10kg) and if they are there, they’re usually all in one spot (of the two areas the dumbbells are kept). It would be a great idea if maybe the staff members could ensure the weights are evenly distributed between the workout areas, obviously removing/restocking these at quiet times when they aren’t in use. - Member numbers. The number of members to this gym is getting out of control. They continue to hold drives for new memberships yet the gym can only service a certain number of ppl at a time. It’s ridiculous. I have had several friends who have left this gym as it’s just impossible to get a workout in at a suitable time to fit in with their lifestyle. - intrusively loud cycling classes. There is a permanent set up for these cycling/spin classes, but no wall around it to prevent the obnoxiously loud class leader’s instructions to be contained. This affects the entire gym floor. It can be heard even over the top of earphones. Finally, it’s like the staff don’t care about their job and never seem to be doing anything. Can barely get a greeting when coming thru the door. Honestly I’m looking elsewhere, as many have before me and then left.

Negative experience: I do not appreciate the fact that staff at this gym use the facilities to film content for their own social media. I was just trying to do my workout on the 24/08 (around 0800) when I saw one of the female PT's was setting up a phone on a tripod. This PT also seemed to require another PT who is trans to 'spot' her with a feeble weight to do seated shoulder press. Goodlife has enough posters around stating that video and pictures in the gym are prohibited. However, when you want to film content for your Instagram or OnlyF that rule seems to not exist. If your PT's want to film themselves in underwear using gym equipment, they should use their own gyms. Not the equipment of their employer and get in the way of patrons who are trying to use their membership. I am consistently tired of the adolescent boys and girls who just come to 'hang out' at the gym during peak hours. They take up space, do nothing other than consume oxygen and make the gym appear to be a school playground. Additionally, of a weekend, after hours, these same adolescents let all their friends into the gym through the after hours exit. I hate the fact the men's change room is generally pretty disgusting with its smells and has no ventilation going on in there. You cross a wall of odour and have to inhale the scents of dozen's of 15 yr old guys whose definition of a shower is a spray can of Lynx. The equipment, especially the pin loaded stuff is old and poorly maintained. Almost no-one unracks their weights particularity around the squat racks causing consistent trip hazards. People just leave benches in the path between the smith machines and leg press, thus blocking the way. The music is nauseatingly loud, the staff that I do see on the floor do very little tidying of the area and seem to have little regard for their workplace. The gym has a distinctly unprofessional atmosphere and I have reached the point of where I am unwilling to tolerate it any longer.
Positive experience: The equipment in the gym is a little old but mostly well maintained. The gym is generally pretty busy in the mornings not sure about the afternoon or nites. The bathrooms have very poor airflow, ventilation and it’s incredibly hot in there. You take a cold shower and come out to continue to sweat. I can’t imagine what it would be like in summer. The design of the bathroom encourages people to take a piss and not wash their hands. I’ve seen this about a few times already.
Fantastic experience: Amazing gym experience
Negative experience: If you enjoy broken outdated equipment, standing around waiting for the free weights to be available because there is 1 of the size you want, and having to wear noise cancelling headphones because some genius decided to put a spin class in the middle of the gym with no walls surrounding it (be warned even with your headphones turned up to the point of potential hearing loss, you can still hear the spin instructors screaming like banshees over your music, as they have no consideration for anyone else in the gym) then this is the place for you!! Rest assured as soon as a Worlds or Fitness Cartel open up the place will be a ghost town

Negative experience: Went to the Carindale Goodlife for the first time last night after hearing good things about this gym. I was shocked at how dirty and how different the atmosphere was at this Goodlife compared to others I have trained in. Did not have a welcoming atmosphere at all and the overall feel was quite dodgy and unpleasant.
Negative experience: A poorly maintained club. Change rooms are often dirty. Equipment remains out of order for weeks on end. Steam room and sauna are almost always out of order. For what you’re paying for, this club is overpriced. Avoid it at all costs, you’re better off going to Goodlife Carina Heights. A disgrace to the Goodlife franchise.

Positive experience: The facilities itself is really great. So many options, always at least one machine free and so many classes! Also heaps of showers, clean and nice. However… and I don’t really know how to word this but the atmosphere is just so like.. sneaky. Like they always have to go and get the manager from somewhere and then they say she’s not available. And then they added extra amounts on my gym acc for PT sessions, charged me the admin fee when they shouldn’t have (got it back) but wouldn’t refund and only as pass credit, and made it very difficult to get a 24/7 pass. Also.. there always seems to be a sale and “this is the absolute last day you can sign up to get it.” But I’m starting to think it never ends. The whole lock in contract gym ordeal is so strange. But again, the facilities are fantastic and you can easily park and use the 24/7 keys.
Negative experience: Threatened with a $100 fee because my partner walked in with me without scanning her card once. Not a great way to foster brand loyalty.

Negative experience: This gym has pool and spa and I think because of these facilities they don’t care about maintenance and cleanliness. In steam room and sauna you can see tissues left there for more than a week and no one care to clean it! Mold is also visible in some area as this is very dangerous for health! Locker room and showers are not clean at all. Staffs are nice and friendly and always supportive but I think they don’t have sufficient supervision on keep the place clean.

Positive experience: I personally come to Carindale even through Carina Heights and Upper Mt Gravatt gyms are closer. Just because of how clean this gym always is. I sometimes come a bit later to workout and the cleaner is always there with a vacuum. The gym staff have always been friendly and don't hard sell the membership like other gyms. Their Sauna is usually free to use and not too packed like the other ones. It's small compared to Holland Park or Carina heights but it's a functional space. The boys who workout give you major fitness goals and a sight to the sore eyes.
Negative experience: Signed up start of year when i was 17, was told that i pay $17.06 per week and i can come in whenever once i turn 18 to claim my 24/7 pass, in doing so they made me select a new plan due to me now being 18 and getting 24/7 pass when this wasn't said originally. My options were $28 no lock in contract per week or $18.99 a week lock in contract for a year. The professionalism is ridiculous and they take money when they want for any type of reasons. My 2 mates both got 24/7 access free from any hidden fees but then i get mine and i have to change plans, i confront them about it but they say its a 'mistake' and they should be selecting different plans. I quit at 8 months left and cost me $185 to get out of my lock-in contract, this place is a joke and forced me into a dumb contract with hidden costs attached. I recommend going somewhere local or make your own gym because this place is a scam.

Started a membership 4 months ago including 2 PT sessions which I never received despite contacting the gym multiple times by phone, email and in person. I still have not received any correspondence from the PT manager despite multiple emails from myself and their reception girls. Truly disappointing

Fantastic experience: I enjoy Carindale GoodLife because staff are always ready to help. Ive had staff members help me do a new exercise on a machine without having to ask, just by them noticing I was a newbie. The vibe here is positive and there is a diverse range of people here.

I felt like I had to sign up - I never went to get a swipe fob &didn’t have an introduction around the club. I have been paying $17 a fortnight for over a 1.5 years and haven’t been allowed to cancel my member. Horrible.
Positive experience: Good gym, only come here for thr sauna and steam room which is normally broken so that's a bummer. But great when it works.
Negative experience: The management at this store is absolutely atrocious. The sales rep mislead my sister into thinking she was signing up for a free trial but was actually tricked into signing a 12 month contract which she could not get out of. They kept deducting money from her account even when she froze her membership. They never refunded her the hundreds of dollars they took from her. Disgusting and disappointing behaviour.
Negative experience: Try to charge their membership by not active the kubo pass
Negative experience: Was issued a 24/7 pass that didn’t work and left my phone at home one day, so one of the other members let me in to train. Just found out this gym fines members for tailgating. If technology doesn’t work, have a member of staff for after hours or set up an alternative system, but don’t charge already paying members for using the gym.
Negative experience: I was recommended by staff member to use kubofit pass . I think it does not work for purpose to grab extra $25 from the members. App did not work on that day so I still went in as I believe it is not my fault that app didn't work and got charged fine as tailgater.. now trying to avoid Carindale.
Fantastic experience: My PT is based here. Has its busy times, so best to avoid as you can be waiting to use the gym equipment. Great parking available and easy to then pop downstairs to go shopping.

Negative experience: I was approached by sales staff named Sam when I went for a casual pass. He offered me a deal but I had to hold on to it for a day to give it a think as I was still a member of another gym. He agreed to let me in for a free session the following day if I gave him the answer. The day after free session I came back to join but I was in a rush so I was hoping if he let me train in exchange I promise him I would come back on my break on that day to sign the contract (I work in the centre). He kept rushing me and won’t let me train and forcing me to sign up right there and then. He kept saying “it only takes 2 minutes”. Ended up wasting 30 mins of my time so I decided to leave but he told me I could train. For what?? Ended up training for only 15 minutes. Eventually I ended up signing up through another goodlife club and came back at carindale to train before work today. He followed me all the way to the locker room and was accusing me of using someone else’s pass. I showed him my contract and he kept arguing with me and wouldn’t stop accusing. Wasted my time again. Not long after that I got a call from a lady that works at carindale to check if I was in the club and she was defending this Sam guy. Thanks for the warm welcoming message GOODLIFE CARINDALE. Good to know that your staff have fkn attitude and are very rude. No apologies given, love it. The gym is not even up to standard

Negative experience: Unsolicited phone calls trying to get me to join this gym and receiving promotional content without me ever signing up for anything. If I wanted to join a gym, Goodlife is not on the list anymore.
Positive experience: Good equipment fit out for a Goodlife (Hammer Strength etc) Must have great WiFi too judging by the amount of people who just sit on it indefinitely playing on thier phones.

Positive experience: I’ve used quite a few of the Goodlife gyms over the years and I can say this is one of the better ones. Yes, it’s crowded Mon-We’d from 4pm onwards but good luck finding a franchise gym that isn’t. It’s got a cool vibe with fun lighting and a unique layout, everything you could want in terms of equipment is here and the yoga box is by the far the best I’ve used with top quality instructors. The staff are also always very happy and friendly. My only gripe is the change rooms, having only padded ottomans to use for seating and the sauna/steam room are quite small as well. Overall, it’s a good club.

Negative experience: Gym can be ok - IF you attend before approximately 3.30pm. (Almost impossible to use required equipment after this time as it is EXTREMELY Over populated. Air conditioning rarely works. Gym equipment seemingly always out of order. Weights unorganised. I highly do not recommend this specific gym.

Negative experience: I wished I have read all these negative reviews before I signed up the other day. I had the worst experienced so far and its only been 3 days since my membership. I felt so wronged... Im not rich and they took a lot from me in just 3 days. When they said I have nothing to pay until I used up all my free gym use. Im so disappointed . Will change my review if they will actually fix it.

Negative experience: Typical contract issues but everyone knows that when getting involved with Goodlife. Maintenance on the gym is pretty poor. Most stalls in the bathroom have broken toilet paper holders so you have to hold it closed while you go otherwise it falls open in front of your face. There are two water coolers, one has been broken for MONTHS, forcing everyone in the gym to use just one. The machines are poorly cared for, spin bikes are old, rusty, some missing screens. Big TV/display also broken. Put it this way, just assume something is always out of order. There are some pros - the location is very convenient and almost all of the group fitness instructors are great.

Positive experience: Satisfactory staff. Decent and modern gym equipment, however a strong neglect on squeaking equipment. Overall good gym, but only when no one is there, gym members are absolute losers.
Negative experience: My experience here started our great, but slowly declined after a year or so. I called goodlife asking them to return my call ASAP and I received a call 2 weeks later. No sorry, no nothing. I was having some issues with my direct debits - they elected the wrong account. They slapped me with late penalty fees and made me pay double for my membership. After this I informed them I would be leaving. They were late to call me again. Said I would receive email confirmation which I am yet to receive. Yet still proceeded to charge me for my membership. The equipment is getting old - no new machines or areas. Also the inflow of people means the gym is crowded and you cannot use the machines you want. Although they sign up 15 new people a week, nothing has been upgraded in 4 years. I am glad I am leaving and will definitely will not be back.
Negative experience: Facilities are filthy. Steam room out of order for over a 2 1/2 months, urinals out of order for the past two weeks. 2 out of 4 sinks out of order for the past few months. Machinery constantly out of order. High cost membership, paying for stuff that doesn’t work. Management shows no interest
Negative experience: Equipment is poorly looked after, dated and alot of elements don't work or damaged. Some staff are nice enough but most unhelpful and can't answer any questions or return calls. Glad I only signed up in a 3 month agreement so I can select another gym.

Negative experience: Employees here at the reception have a very hard time greeting almost every time i come here! Naturally i would expect to be greeted at least when i come in.
Fantastic experience: This is one of the best gyms in the area, and certainly one of the best Good Life gyms I've been to in the Brisbane area. I was skeptical at first because it can get quite busy and the car park is a bit challenging the first time you visit, but it's become my favourite. Heaps of top quality equipment, huge amenities, massive group fitness room, friendly staff, friendly patrons, awesome facilities, competitively priced for the facilities available.
Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Blake if your after a great PT! Modern and clean equipment, easy access to parking and shopping facilities. Not to crowded as it’s 24hrs.
Negative experience: I terminated my membership after 10 years today. I have been trying to support the gym after Covid but even most people are back to gym, they have limited their staff to save money Classes are constantly fully booked and they have limited child minding access. We just moved in close to Carindale and the child minding area is a total disappointment. A room with a TV and a couple of toys. How do you except people come back to Gym Moving to a more civilised gym with better child minding area and easier access to classes.
Negative experience: Way too expensive. Around $90 per month for an adult with no lock in contract. For my 14 year old son and me they wanted to charge me around $160 per month for no lock in contract. 12 month sign up wasn't much cheaper either. Also my son couldn't go there on his own until 15 years old. He wanted to train after getting off the school bus there. I can't be there every time due to work. Disappointed with that rule and exorbitant prices.

Fantastic experience: Always a pleasure, great community and staff members, most machines are quiet easy to understand and the staff are quiet hapoy to show you how to use the machines and what would be best for you for results
Negative experience: Despite the current situation with COVID-19, management refused to give any grace with ending my subscription. Not to mention the poor communication as to when they were continuing payments. So now I have to watch them take my money while not been able to use the gym. Not interested in health and well-being. Just a big ol’ cash grab.

Negative experience: Would not recommend this gym to anyone! Very poor communication over covid time. Sign you up with empty promises they don't deliver on. Example: I was told I could attend free classes which included yoga when I signed up. Then was told I'd have to pay an extra free once I was locked into a contact. Trainer sessions did nothing for me as I didn't learn how to do a single proper technique. Just through me on machines and said go! I signed up with a 3x trainer sessions included. Yet in those sessions I receive no help me to get me in the direction I wanted to go. I specifically said I wanted more mobility which was my reason for joining, but it seem the trainers were only interested in training you if want "gains" as thats the only knowledge they have in their arsenal. Lady manager is on a power trip and will SAY anything to keep you, yet wont deliver on her promises and will argue that what she has delivered what she promised when its just not true. Trainers and managers are there to take your money and not give you individualised results. Over priced for what they deliver. Potential is there.. Management is not.. Customer service is not there. You never get calls back when promised. Yet face to face staff are nice and friendly.
Positive experience: Loudest gym I’ve ever been in, this gym has a huge difference in atmosphere to the other gyms. Everyone drops their weights, all the other Goodlifes have a “don’t drop” etiquette rule. The squat racks are always full. Doesnt ever seem to be a quiet time. Music is blasted and the spin / area classes aren’t in a separate room and you can hear the loud microphone of the instructor. Staff are nice and friendly. Haven’t had an issue with any of them. Plenty of lockers, can bring your own padlock. Bathrooms are decent, clean enough to feel comfortable changing in. There is a bit of a smell. Overall it’s not the most outstanding gym but it gets the job done.

Positive experience: The facilities are great , perfect location! However the receptionists are rude and impolite. They are not professionals and refuse to provide clear answers regarding any issues with payments. They are not interested to follow up any matter in relation to client payments.
Negative experience: The cycling class is obnoxiously loud (they should be in their own room, not the public area), and the machines are always broken. Looking for an alternative gym.
Positive experience: Had the membership for 18 months. All round okay gym plenty of equipment the energy inside is good if you like nightclub vibes with gym junkies minding their business.not a gym that I would suggest for people that struggle with money because the contract itself is quite lock in after 18 months you spent a large sum of money for the four just a gym that you're working out.
Negative experience: Terrible service. They are very to sign you up but when it comes to cancellation they'll make you jump over many hoops. Need to give 30 days notice to cancel. I rang to cancel but apparently they don't have any records that I rang so it's another 30 days before cancellation. The staff member said she will call back but never did. Not happy.
Negative experience: The changing rooms not sure who cleans them must clean themselves because they don't clean anywhere else. The urine is broken every second week and seats on the toilet are broken most of time been to cleaner council toilets and i pay to come here find the other goodlife ok what's the problem here
Positive experience: Decent club
Negative experience: There's almost always something "out of order" or damaged, including urinals, toilet paper dispensers water fountains, resistance training machines and especially the leg extension machine (which can be out of action for weeks at a time). The grips on many machines are twisted, broken, missing or really sticky. There is dust all over the place, especially up the back of the gym. It's disappointing that since being taken over by GoodLife, the level of cleanliness and maintenance has dropped substantially.
Positive experience: Very good club, just needs to fix water bubbler / replace it
