Negative experience: Spa has not been heated for months now. According to other reviews here I’m not the only one annoyed about this. In a response to someone else’s review the management are trying to blame it on people not showering beforehand haha. Just fix the spa guys. Ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: Just started at Goodlife Carina. Was feeling a bit intimidated but the staff at reception were lovely and then back up support and encouragement from Zach, one of the trainers was much appreciated. They don't pressure you but are right there for support in a flash if you need or want it. The facilities are clean and fresh in the times I've been there and it is just is a great motivated but relaxed atmosphere which is perfect for my needs. They literally make living healthy a little bit easier ...

Positive experience: A good range of cardio equipment, free weights, racks, machines. Large area freestyle exercise area for some Crossfit, zuu type of exercises. Nice 25 meter pool with steam room and sauna.

Negative experience: Hi I joined the gym 2 months ago because I have lower pack issue and to use the spa which help with my condition. How since then everytime I go there the spa is always broken. I complain many times about it and the staff just say sort about that. At first I was pretty chill about and thought it will be fix soon. It’s been nearly 2 months guys. Come on!

Unfortunately, we’ve noticed that some members are unintentionally affecting these levels by not showering before use or using the spa in ways it wasn’t intended for. Positive experience: If you're mainly here for the spa, don't bother. It's frequently out of order n even when you've been told by staff that it's fully working, it's not always true. Sometimes the jets aren't working, there's no bubbles n water is cold! Absolute waste of $ for me n I'm very close to cancelling my membership

Negative experience: Edit: reply is a cop out- I am a member of goodlife often frequent different locations. The excuse that “we can find you in the system” takes away from the actual problem around ur gross facilities. The concept of people not posting their real name online is not a new??? Point is the gym is super gross, rust and hair everywhere! What more info do you need from me to maintain your gym. Do you not maintain records of cleans? Old gym, smells like an old gym. Pool is gross, hair everywhere. Female lockers full of dust, rust and never wiped down. Change rooms and toilets aren’t cleaned properly as the same gunk was there from visiting 3 days in a row. I came for the pool, steam room, spa facilities but it was so gross I couldn’t convince myself to get in

Positive experience: Clearly the previous reviewers haven’t tried to use the spas which haven’t worked for months! The change rooms are filthy and now the dyer has been removed no doubt never to be replaced. I called and asked if the spas were working before I went to the gym and was told « yes both are fully functioning ». They aren’t! One is stone cold the other has no jets working and is tepid. I note queries about them have been raised by others and the response is « we are working on it « or similar. Just pay up and get them working. They are an advertised facility of the gym need to be functioning. Otherwise provide a discounted rate to members until you have repaired them. Please no more platitudes just call a plumber and repair or replace whatever is broken without further excuses.

Fantastic experience: My fave goodlife in the area, actual lifting platforms with chalk included is a huge bonus for me + lots of space & equipment. The sauna & steam room is also the best one for goodlife in the area & includes spa pool & massive pool so great gym for recovery also.

Positive experience: I have been going to this club for more than 2 years, mainly going to classes. The facility is clean & spacious. However, please note carpark can be an issue. I'm disappointed at how the classes in this club are taken off. I understand the non-performing and low attendance classes, but the Sat 7.30am mat pilates class is ALWAYS full. This is a high performing class. I have to come very early to make sure I get a spot. We call this our yogalates class. We start with positive quotes, we have fun and we learn to use our muscles correctly. Over the years we build a community! I have grown so much stronger from this class. Unfortunately the management is taking this class off. I'm very disappointed and distraught. No other mat pilates class is the same as this one! To make it worse, the management is also taking off the other class I attend, Thursday 6pm class. I am writing this review requesting the management to reconsider keeping the Sat mat pilates class with the same instructor.

Negative experience: Can't believe the spas and steam room are broken for such a long time. Staff are so ignorant and always say they're not aware of the process regarding the maintenance or that they're new to this gym.

Negative experience: Low key fell off after they switched to Goodlife. Raked in crazy members by doing insanely slashed prices at launch so there’s no parks or spaces to workout most times, there’s no hot water and now they cancelling floor classes to most likely push people to pay extra for their Pilates stuff. Aircons off half the time as well

Negative experience: I’ve been living in Carindale since 2011 and have been attending Goodlife (formerly Fitness First) for over 10 years. I liked it because they offered great group classes and it was close to home, which kept me going. My friends also mentioned that having a Goodlife in Carindale is one of the reasons it’s a good place to live. However, at some point, they started cutting classes and promoting Pilates, which requires extra payment. Personally, I don’t like Pilates, so I’m not keen on paying extra for it. It’s disappointing to see them lowering the membership fee while cutting good classes, setting participant limits, and then canceling classes because supposedly not enough people show up. Carina Heights Goodlife now feels like a cheap restaurant where it’s always crowded but there’s nothing to eat. Many members, including myself, have found themselves unable to attend their favorite classes and have had to return home. It’s also frustrating to hear that they’re planning to cancel another group activity that many long-time members attend after work. My friend, who recently joined, said she wasn’t informed about the cancellation and wouldn’t have joined if she knew. Long-standing members, whom I know personally (over six of them), are gradually leaving. The issues with the parking lot, hot water problems, and the upcoming week without air conditioning are also disappointing.

Negative experience: Good life Carina Height courses have been reduced but parking lot is very busy in the mornings. Many club members wait in line for Parking or park outside on the street. So we are sometimes late for class because of parking. Manager Marisse wouldn’t let us in if we were a few minutes late. But why did she not care about the late class?The 9:30am class on June 15th was 15min late July 10min late. You can late but members cannot be late. What kind of logic is this?

Negative experience: Good life carina height manager is absolutely cheap . Do not trust this guys . There is many manager with lots of dramas when they call says something else when you go to the gym they says something else .

Negative experience: It is such a shame that the Good Life Organisation still doesnt care for their customers. I have been visiting this same gym for around 9 years. As we know it was Fitness First and before that another Name/ Company, however the inefficient lack of regards for their patrons and problems remain the same!! I purely go here because of its great location. For the last 3 months both spas have not been working properly. The excuses about the company who services them or not having parts or their expensive to run has become quite laughable and is now beyond embarrassing for GLife Carina. Most companies like GLife Holland Park or other Gyms that I go to have items fixed in a matter of days. Simply keep parts for your spas in stock or change to a Pool Company who can do the right thing. Or simply close the spas down. 1 has been green for 2 months and the other is cold. Omg it's not that hard! I can't wait to see what happens next, as the story goes on, will be a very funny media story. Please turn the sauna on every morning at 5 when you open. Thats also not that hard to do? Thanks and I hope you listen and fix!

Negative experience: Goodlife Carina is the worst gym I have come across. The equipments are always broken and outdated and the service is so poor. When you are paying $27 per week for a premium gym you expect the equipments to work and not broken an unfixed for weeks. The toilets and shower facilities are dirty and urinal broken with leaks and toilets filthy and not clean. Hand basins leaking and dirty always. Staff are not friendly and helpful at all. Get your act together Goodlife and stop ripping members off. I would not recommend joining any Goodlife gyms because they are so outdated and provide no benefit to members. All they do is rip people off.

Negative experience: When I left in April 2023 I wrote the following and never even got a reply.... a year later your payment provider is texting me about taking money. And, I can't get anyone on the phone in a timely manner from debitsuccess. Crikey, how frustrating! I hung up and tried again choosing option 1 (for non-members). Thanks to Amelia for helping me out, as the payment text was related to other members of my family and getting that contact updated. My leaving message... Like I said when I cancelled the deal breaker for me was the broken equipment and never getting any idea when it might be fixed. I'm on a specific training program and 5+ weeks with the seated leg curl machine broken meant I had to go asking my online coach for an alternative... and then the cable machine I used regular was broken, and the lat pull downs broke, and so on. I asked to speak to someone about it and was either fobbed off or told I'd get a call - which never happened. I'm guessing it was because nothing can be done. I specifically said to the receptionist that I'd be happy to help give you some feedback to pass up to head office, that this isn't okay... but nope, no call, nothing. For me I put it at 0 out of 10 for effort somewhere in the chain, and since I bought from and interact with the nice and pleasant front desk staff, I'm guessing it is their supervisors who need to step up a notch or two. I'm glad very to have found somewhere that fixes things quickly and yes, it isn't perfect, things break... but they're on it in few days at most. It is very busy, and 20 minutes drive each way,... I live 2 mins from Good Life Carina.... but I've given up on you guys completely. I'll miss the friendly faces of PTs and fellow gym goers... but it isn't a social jolly for me. I actually want to meet my training goals. The cardio machines - it's 50/50 whether they'll connect to the apple watch. The sauna has been out of action since January or Feb.

Positive experience: Very big gym seems well equipped. I joined primarily for the pool. Missing two things. After swimming at previous gyms and pools that I have been to, I take a shower, change and go. This is the first one I have been to where there is not one hook in the shower recess, the doors also don't have simple locks, meaning I have to put my towel over the door (who knows if it is even clean on top). Toilet stall, hook on back of door. Private change room, hook on back of door. Not the shower though. As someone with skin problems which I do not want on show to everyone in the locker room, I will now just have to skip the after-swim shower because I am not prepared to walk from the shower through the locker room to a change room in just a towel. Please be considerate and add some hooks and door locks in the shower recesses. It isn't unreasonable to expect it. The doors and walls are glass, but a hook could still be added. I am planning to buy my own to hook my bag and towel over the door.

Positive experience: Joined primarily for the pool, facilities are good, but get overcrowded very quickly. Very limited swim space due to swim school "sharing" pool (sometimes leaving only 1 lane for members)

Positive experience: The gym looks a bit old. Parking can be a mess during peak hours. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Great to have a Pilates studio as well

Negative experience: Cant tell if scamming or just incompetent... They keep charging me penalty fees for overdue membership, even though I've contact my bank and there is absolutely no reason why this should be the case. First off it took them 3 months to first establish direct debit payments to my account and I had to make them manually, but they would only ever tell me when it was overdue. My bad, I guess, I should have asked if there was an automatic payment system, instead of waiting for the weekly "Requires urgent payment" messages. But even then, I just kept getting those messages. There was plenty of money on the account specified, and it wasn't locked and the bank was well aware it was just my gym membership, but even so, for what ever reason, they couldn't take the money out automatically. At this point, I've paid double my membership in fees because it keeps skyrocketing. one week it was at $80, the next week it was at $120 some how... I put my account of freeze for three months so I could save up enough money to pay the cancellation fee, but they unfroze it at two. I asked them to just stop the automatic payments and I would make them manually... They agreed... Cut to last night when I went to pay manually and surprise there was an issue with my account and I wasn't able to make any payments... So this morning when I checked, it said I couldn't make a payment because an automatic payment was scheduled for today. ._. They didn't cancelled the automatic payments, so are they just trying to cheat me by forcing all these penalty fees on me with convenient excuses, or are they just incompetent? Because I cant make a manual payment when an automatic payment is processing... and since they are for some reason about to complete these automatic payments, its automatically going to enforce a penalty fee...
Fantastic experience: Goodlife Staff are very helpful and Zali is amazing. She is always bright and cheerful. Marisse and the aquasize classes are amazing. Facilities are brilliant and I highly recommend Goodlife Carina Heights. Georgina
Fantastic experience: Nice environment and facilities. Open 24 hours. Good value for money
Positive experience: Good machines, good place, good installation. The only problem in this gym are the trainers, they think that are the owners of the machines and the weights. They come like 6-10 at same hours (busy hours) take everything, left everything everywhere, and doesn't care if you are using or you need it. They feel like they has the privilege. Also they finish to train and left everything in the middle. Really rude attitude. Just 2-3 trainers are nice and respectful. The rule to put everything on their places should be for everyone. For example today all the 2, 3 and 4kg dumbbells was in the floor with a lot staff, anyone using, and the trainer just talking in a conner. Same actitud everyday. Don't come in the busy hours when trainers are here.
Negative experience: Great facilities, staff are nice. Goodlife as a franchise just sucks. If you ever want to do an exercise in how to give zero Fs about your clients, follow the Goodlife example.
Fantastic experience: Awesome place to train. I started Pilates after Xmas and it’s been a great experience. Easy to book, great studio with instructor led classes. Lots of help for us beginners and plenty of variation for sore or injured body parts. Thanks to the Goodlife team for making it fun, hard and rewarding
Fantastic experience: Goodlife Carina Heights is a great health club! I have always found the change rooms clean and tidy. I attend the Aqua and Reform Pilates classes regularly and I have never had a bad experience.
Negative experience: I would certainly not recommend anyone joining this gym. Unless you are 100% sure you can limit the membership's duration and they are going to stop direct debiting your account at the end of that duration. :-)
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love coming to this gym. The reformer Pilates is an awesome fitness class as are the other classes on offer as well. The team are amazing and the amenities excellent. A loyal partner to this gym.
Fantastic experience: I've had a consistently positive experience at this gym. The equipment is always well-maintained, creating a reliable workout environment. The staff are always friendly and approachable, providing assistance when needed. All of the facilities within the gym are also kept clean and tidy.
Negative experience: The air conditioning is broken since the beginning of summer and they don't seem to care. Today they asked me not to come to this club for a while as they're not sure if it's gonna get fixed. I asked for my membership fee refund for this time and of course they don't accept.
Negative experience: Since the change over from Fitness First to Goodlife it has changed a lot, Half of the air con is now working, instead they have brought small fans, No broken equipment has been replaced, just removed lol

Fantastic experience: Outstanding customer service. Attentive. Facilities good. Resort style. Sufficient gym equipment, classes, spa, pool, spacious area, natural light, meals to buy, physio and masseuse on site, atmosphere is good. Social. Attendance increased due to this.

Negative experience: Long time member at this gym since it was fitness first. And every time I visit conditions have worsened. Wet area smells like urine, cockroaches everywhere, and showers are full of mould. Training equipment is always a mess, and nothing works half the time. All they care about is getting you to sign a contract. It's absolutely horrible. Wouldn't recommend it.
Positive experience: This Goodlife is genuinely one of the best. Great facilities and regularly cleaned. However the only thing keeping it from its full potential of 5 stars is the fact that the gym culture doesn’t seem to follow basic respect of re-racking their weights when finished. There doesn’t seem to be any signs anywhere either that reminds clients to put them away when done either. This honestly unfortunately causes a lot of frustration with you having to stop your workout to search the gym for specific weights and also causes a workplace health and safety hazard with weights being easy to trip over
Negative experience: If you’re okay with young boys congregating around equipment for 30 mins at a time, and displaying disrespectful behaviour even with others around (horrible loud swearing, shadow boxing in front of other gym goers, pushing each other and even breaking some of the cable machines)- then this is the gym for you. This isn’t a one off thing that happens- It happens everytime i’m in there (theres a particular group that come in after 8pm)… I notice there are other reviews about this particular crowd, and im sure management could identify them. The state of this gym is a longshot from the old Fitness First days. Goodlife memberships are cheap, so it’s attracting a “cheap” crowd. I changed gyms because it’s not enjoyable going there anymore.
Negative experience: Unfortunately all the reviews are correct. Make sure to do a free trial before signing up as my experience is that if you pay upfront, they then take 11 weeks to refund and don’t refund the whole amount paid - stop responding and head office don’t respond either. Disappointing to see that their standards have dropped compared to years ago.
Fantastic experience: I have been a Goodlife/FF member for many years, and usually workout in the city, but have recently been coming here on weekends over the past few years. The gym has a great open space upstairs and all the equipment is functional and the floors are kept relatively clean. It also has natural light shining in which is a plus and not something I’ve really seen at any other gym. The wet area is great and yes they would do a mini uplift, but a pool is a pool, and so is a spa and a sauna and a steam room. There were some issues with things being out or order but that was mostly during Covid so I imagine that what why it took them awhile to get back working. The reception staff are always super friendly, and it is really the only place that opens on Sat and Sun till 5pm and on public holidays so that allows people to enjoy the steam room and sauna ammenities. They also offer free wi-fi. I’ve seen such features at other more fancy ‘soakhouses ’ where people are paying $40 a visit so I think the service is economical. Also, the clientele here seem super friendly hence why the gym floors are probably clean because people put their weights back unlike other places. The only improvement they could make it a refurbishment of the change rooms. Keep up the nice work Goodlife Carina Heights!
Negative experience: I have been a long time member at this gym and I am quite saddened at how conditions have deteriorated since the merger with Fitness First. There is no Code of Conduct or behaviour rules in this club. There is constant hooliganism, very bad behaviour being experienced and foul language being thrown around the club by very young people who use the gym. They have no respect courtesy or care for other members throughout the gym. Exercise equipment is constantly hogged by groups of young men for over 20 minutes at a time. Something must be done to drastically change member's experience. Staff and management seem not to care at all. Once they suck you into a membership, it's not about the ongoing quality service and experience, it's all about having as many bodies through the door that count. Hey Goodlife management and owners, do something about this!!!!!!
Negative experience: If you come after 8pm be prepared for lots of foul language, yelling, groups of young guys hogging the equipment and a whole lot of testosterone. You guys need to supervise the young bogans who now rule your club!!!

Negative experience: Has a pool! But the problem is parking here is abysmal. I would not recommend this gym just on the basis of its lack of car parking.

Negative experience: Don't come to this gym I have never written a google review before but the service that a trainer and the manager of this GoodLife provided to my mum yesterday was so deplorable I had to. The trainer of the Pilates class acted with no respect or professionality towards her and continually yelled at my mum to get out of the almost empty class which hadn't started while my mum was trying to put her name on the waiting list for the class. After my mother left the room the trainer called up the manager who wouldn't let my mum back in unless she apologised to the trainer, even though my mum did nothing wrong?? And then it turns out my mum was booked for the class anyway. Really poor service all around I wouldn't recommend anyone goes here.
Negative experience: Manager Mark is rude and unfriendly and terrible good at sales. I specifically did not join the Gym because of him. EDIT: Just saw the recent comment from Nelson Graham about how rude the manager at Goodlife was recently. Not surprised this is others' experience at the gym as well.

Personal trainer Jason is a thorough professional and all round nice guy as well as an expert, always positive and supports a total wellness approach, with enjoyable programs and advice, catering for injuries and personal goals. Fantastic experience: GoodLife Carina Heights is my local gym, I have been a member for a while. I really love this gym & the location, the staff a very welcoming. Denise is on reception in the morning's & greets everyone by name, a lovely lady & is always so friendly. I attend the reform pilates classes each week & there is many classes to choose from. The instructors are very supportive. The timetable hours suit my work schedule. My PT Carla is a real gem she is fierce but fair & has got me feeling stronger after a debilitating injury. I trust her completely & admire her craft. This gym has a real vibe & never ceases to surprise me & inspire me. I would 100% recommend for you to join this gym.

Positive experience: I train with Jun here. Pretty good gym compared to others. Peak hour is still a nightmare to navigate. The seated leg curl seems to have been forgotten as its been out of order for a month now
Positive experience: Overall good gym. My husband and I do PT training weekly with Jun which makes our experience better. Some equipment could use updating as well better air conditioning upstairs. Not been about to use sauna as always out of order.
Fantastic experience: It is the local club for me and my partner where we spend some after work as well as weekend hours at. Convenient spot, easy parking, large variety of equipment and classes to choose from to suit our needs. My PT John has been exceptional. He understands my need and tailored the session for me with the right amount of challenge that helps me to be fitter without feeling totally exhausted after workout. Highly recommended .
Fantastic experience: Carina Heights is my home gym, and I love working out here. In the past, I've felt overwhelmed and nervous visiting a gym, but the welcoming staff and multiple 'zones' at this Goodlife make it a lot easier to get my workouts in during the week. There's also cardio equipment free, and even in busy periods, the strength floor has many alternative options even if your ideal piece of equipment is being used. I've always been able to finish a workout, even on a Monday night during prime time! I really recommend booking in with a PT as well - I've been working with Emilia and I've noticed my dedication to my fitness has greatly improved. The only piece of equipment they're missing is a stair machine, but I recommend Goodlife Carina Heights nonethless!
Positive experience: It’s a spacious gym with plenty of equipment. ( some equipment needs upgrading) Brett is a great PT, very knowledgeable, patient and intuitive with rehab and strength building.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Goodlife Carina Heights for almost two years now. It is a good-sized gym and they have recently put in a Reform Pilates room which is great. They have plenty of classes and an attached swimming pool (I don’t personally use these). I mostly do weight-training with one of they gym’s PTs, Emilia Kurylewska, who I absolutely recommend! I also like that the gym has a clientele ranging in age from young to old and as a nearly 40 year old, I feel very comfortable training here.

Fantastic experience: Emilia is incredible, I strongly recommend if you are looking for a new PT ! I have been seeing her for about a year now and I went from working out 3 times a YEAR to weekly visits and visiting Pilates regularly! She has showed me how to enjoy working out and I have really seen how much stronger I am getting! She pushes me to be better and keeps me accountable but never makes me feel bad if I have had a naughty week! Negative experience: Terrible service, broken down weight equipment and change rooms smell like urine. All about sales and no gym upkeep. Just pump out classes and take in cash. Switch gyms to a more customer focused organisation.
Negative experience: overcrowded! Hard to find parking spot! not proper communication in administration!
Negative experience: The venue seems nice. The staff made me a bit uncomfortable and need better training on admin tasks, because when I signed up they set my ‘home’ gym to some Melbourne location which created a bunch of problems for me when visiting. I’m not going back, but you might have better luck. They staff might give you the standard condescending gym speech if you ask to leave, they did to me.
Negative experience: Absolutely corrupt and greedy company that rips off loyal members when they try to cancel membership. Reading through the other comments, it seems like my experience is just one among hundreds and I wish I had seen these before I signed up. After several written requests to cancel my membership, they dangled an offer to transfer my membership to a non-member. Then when I tried to accept the offer, they tell me that its not a valid option and I have to pay another 30 days fees. My take is that they know they're not acting morally or legally, but rely on their size and debt collectors to bully consumers into paying fees for no service knowing that it'll be too costly or timely for any individual consumer to fight their theft.
