Goodlife Health Clubs Fountain Gate

Negative experience: Re Fountain Gate Branch - Not enough weight plates in squat area and bench area, no straps/stretch bands, no skipping ropes, more soft ball weights required… they have been removed but not returned. Weights everywhere and need to be put away at start and end of day. Some dumbbell weights illegible. Tea or coffee making facilities removed - makes it difficult to foster a sense of community that all business want and need, insulates them against down turns as most people go to the gym for community interaction as well as fitness! Wake up venture capital people these are basics !! Staff very helpful nothing too much trouble and go out of their way but only so much they can do - see above comments

Negative experience: Some severe mould growing in the male changing room ventilation. Definitely has not been cleared for some time + gym creeps who make me and my friends feel very uncomfortable.

Negative experience: Very bad receptionist named Bella long hair no smile brown skin lady with impolite attitude and bossy arrogant face. First time to try this gym，it's really hard to find main entrance. I knocked back door a few times which is very close to reception，no clear sign to guide where to go and she was sitting there with no one around. She saw me but didn't even stand up and only gave me a take round gesture with cold face then ignored me. I asked Friday restaurant staff and shopping centre staff to find the way and her excuse is she was busy with other customers which I didn't see anyone every time when I came to her. She refused to tell me her name first then mentioned my gym a few times which is so so funny. She is not suitable to work at reception and knows nothing when I ask questions，always said it's up to manager. Looked like she can't help anyone. My friend was there too and said she is always like that. Very bad experience and will never go back because of her. If she does not like this job，my advice is pls quit the job，don't ruin the customers‘ day，nobody owns you anything！

Negative experience: I hate to be posting bad about Goodlife as they’re a gym I absolutely love but this facility itself at fountain gate is far by the worst one. terrible gym etiquette, weights never organised and worst of all is the staff, it is sad speaking to a few locals because it seems to be only a few workers that are really bringing down the whole feel of the place Personally I think if this is your local it wouldn’t be worth signing up which is a shame because Goodlife do so well in all other gyms I’ve been in!

Negative experience: The contract is a nightmare, DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS CLUB I am extremely frustrated with my experience at GoodLife Fitness. Despite multiple attempts to cancel my membership, including three phone calls, I have faced continuous obstacles. Now that my 18-month contract has concluded, I am being told I need to provide an additional 30 days' notice, which is unreasonable and unacceptable. Additionally, I was promised that Reform Pilates would be available by March 2023, but IT NEVER HAPPENED. This misrepresentation played a significant role in my decision to join, and it has not been addressed. I have fulfilled my contractual obligations and expect immediate cancellation of my membership without any additional charges. My previous cancellation requests should be considered sufficient notice. My experience has been marred by long waits on the phone and in person at the facility, with no resolution in sight. I urge anyone considering GoodLife Fitness to be cautious and thoroughly review their contract terms.

Negative experience: Please stop contacting me. I have never requested to sign up to Goodlife Fountain Gate. I do not know how you got my details but leave me alone. I do not live or work near there so there is no need for me to travel to your gym. I am especially happy with my current gym. Do not contact me again.

Fantastic experience: Goodlife Narre Warren has been nothing but astounding during my 6 months here. The Sales Consultant Yas has been nothing but helpful with inquiries and membership, new equipment / machine addition has been added and made workouts pleasurable as well as the new upgrades to the Sauna/Steam room! The gym and workout areas are always kept in a clean and tidy matter. 10/10 recommend the gym to any new gym goers!

Positive experience: Been a member here since 2014. Very convenient as its close to our house. Apart from being super slow in upgrading the old machines and chipped weights, Plsss fix the cold water. We're in Melbourne. I've raised this concern since 3 months. It took them a couple of weeks to fix it. It was good for another month. Now again. I don't have time to shower at home. But PLSSS fix the Freezing shower, its always freezing cold !!!

Negative experience: Way too pushy. As soon as I walked in for a casual visit i was bombarded for membership. Not even 30 seconds into the conversation. Do I want to discuss membership. I hadn’t even trained there yet. It was a crap gym small weights area. Equipment is crap. Didn’t get a good workout at all. Too crowded. Won’t be back. Leg equipment is below average.

Negative experience: service sucks, got told my account was on hold instead it was adding up and ended up paying $250 in fee after told it was “free” and an extra $10 comes out my account when there’s money waiting to be taken out, won’t be back

Negative experience: Very dodgy, Every week, an extra ten dollars is withdrawn from my account even though I always have enough money in my account. When I ask the reception about the reason, they give me lame excuses

Negative experience: I have never had any dealings with Goodlife Fountain Gate whatsoever but recently started getting unsolicited phone calls from them. The calls have slowed down and now I am getting SMS advertising from them. I never asked to be contacted and resent having to unsubscribe from something I never wanted in the first place.

Fantastic experience: Nice clean and friendly staff.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever, signed up the contract without giving proper explanation and now end up with paying cancellation fee $590 of me and my partner. You guys should explain everything before doing contracts. I would give zero star but unfortunately there is no option for that. Thanks

Fantastic experience: Samira in arena is amazing! She’s soo determined, motivated and kills it when it comes to training you during the classes. My body along with strength training has toned up immensely. I couldn’t recommend her enough, and to sign up to arena. Love, love, love her. :)

Fantastic experience: Been coming to Goodlife for awhile, and have been attending the arena classes and samira the trainer has been fantastic, has taught me so much, given me so much confidence within myself, she’s got great energy, always hyping everyone up.

Negative experience: All the bad reviews are accurate for this particular branch of goodlife. As an athlete I use this gym as a secondary local gym for only strength work and sauna, and so usually just put up with how terribly managed and unclean the whole place is. The toilets(looking at the same skid marks and i come in twice a week or less), shower and sauna is disgusting not to mention the weights area is always a filthy mess, with equipment that is constantly broken or half broken despite customer complaints and telling staff just for them to put an out of order sign on it for a few days. Today i had a lady from management stand outside the sauna saying out loud how stupid it is that people pour water on an electrical element in the sauna, news flash! --> we know its electric and 95 percent of your clients pour water on it because you ignore AGAIN everyones requests to fix THE coldest sauna in all the goodlifes me and friends have been to. I need this for my sport for heat acclimation and cutting weight which i am currently in the process of and have already said to staff before it needs to be fixed. I dont think that lady or any of the staff at that particular goodlife know that sports people actually require working sauna as they are so out of shape. Dont use Fountain Gate if you can avoid it. The people that are giving good reviews arent actually sports people

Negative experience: I’ve went to this gym for about 5 years now and the toilets are not cleaned and the gym is not maintained properly then machines are not really good they don’t have most of the good equipments and I don’t recommend it at all to be honest

Fantastic experience: One of the team named Abbey has to have the best customer service I’ve ever come across in a gym and this industry. I had some issues with my membership and not only did she help me sort them out, she was always on my side no matter what it meant in terms of money for the gym, and always followed everything up with me to make sure it had been sorted out. If you haven’t already, management give this girl a raise or something, she is awesome!

We have all noticed one worker, I believe her name is Bella, she is extremely rude and makes interactions super uncomfortable. She has an attitude no matter what time of day, it really brings a bad feeling to the environment to the point I don’t ask for help even when needed because she speaks rude and acts it. Needs to be dealt with!

Negative experience: I am absolutely disgusted with this gym, I would never recommend them to anyone. They took money unauthorised twice out of my account for myself and my husband and when I questioned them about stealing my money they did nothing about it and I'm still waiting for my money back. They have staff that lie to you and also have staff that are rude and unhelpful. I have sent several emails no reply and made calls and the manager doesn't call you back. If I could give zero stars I would have.

Negative experience: what a great experience I had today at goodlife Narre Warren which led me to cancel my membership straightaway I was taking shower and found out no soap then moved to other one same story no soap at all in any bathroom. I pressed the buzzer for help. A staff member came but Rather Than Helping me out by providing soap he was giving me lecture to never press it again. I asked for the soap but he kept on lecturing about the button I pressed . waited long time he never came back . Pretty disgusting customer service and for their faults they want to blame the Gym members. What a dumb customer service.

Negative experience: Bunch of liars do not join this gym Day 1 when I signed up they told me I told them I do not want to do a contract but they told me not to worry and that I can cancel with ease and any time but it turned out to be all a lie

Fantastic experience: It’s a very good gym - a lot of times over crowded though. The gym has all the amenities which one need for a workout. They provide special classes as well. It’s neat, clean, well ventilated, open, very well lit. The bathrooms are neat & clean, so is the sauna. The staff is very polite & cooperative. Special mention of one of their managers - Libby - she’s customer service par excellence. So well-meaning, trustworthy, supportive. I’m now a member for Life because of Libby and the overall facility, flexibility & freedom GoodLife provides

Negative experience: I have been going here for 3 years now and the place is filthy. I have mentioned it to the club manager many times but nothing ever gets done. There is dirt, dust & peoples spilt protein powders all over the floor. A lot of equipment is extremely worn and broken. All the ropes, handles and seats on most of the equipment has tears in it. Sauna and steam room are a massive breeding ground for a disease as they are never cleaned! Showers are completely filthy like a public restroom on the side of a highway! I have sent them pictures of it and they always say they will speak to the cleaners but nothing ever happens. Timber in the sauna is filled with mould and the floors have never seen a mop. All the tiles in the showers are filled with black mould and I am yet in 3 years to see it actually be cleaned.

Fantastic experience: Now this is a gym ! One of the more roomier good life gyms with a big range of new equipment. Lots of squat racks, benches and cable stations so no one misses out. As this gym is huge, it does not get crowded, even at peak hour. I prefer to come here when I’m in the south east. Love it love it love it baby. The staff are sweet and helpful also :) and super approachable. Cute vibes from here. The exercise class rooms are big as well ! This gym has it all x

Negative experience: This gym is not clean, especially the showers when you go after 7PM probably because you have all the dirt from the day and the staff can't bother taking a mop and spend 2 minutes cleaning the floor. The wifi is not good either, not remotly fast and with deadspots everywhere. Despite some complaints they just never listen and fix things. The website is not working correctly, you try to use it to contact them ; it's either not possible because of bugs on the website, or they will never get back to you anyway. They are really good at taking your money though, and reminding you when you haven't paid. They should focus on client retention insted of trying to get new people in.

Fantastic experience: As an experienced user of gym equipment, I find the range of machines/weights excellent. The facilities are clean, with very good change rooms. Inexperienced users may struggle unless you are prepared to pay for “personal training”. Definitely suits my needs

Fantastic experience: Being someone who was too self-conscious to join a gym, I honestly can’t speak highly enough of Goodlife Fountain gate. I have had nothing but a positive experience every step of the way. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a friendly face and a welcoming environment. All the facilities look clean and well maintained. I have had great support with Dan (PT) and all the team that I have come across so far. I know I have a long way to go to reach my goals, and I feel I will achieve them with the guidance and knowledge from everyone at Goodlife.

Fantastic experience: Over a 3 week stay to see Frieda and fam here in Oz, really wanted to stay disciplined and fit -really please to be introduced to Goodlife gym by my sister, a regular, who showed outstanding customer care during the time, and that customers come first before their own.gain. I had access to state of art gym and sessions on Arena, which takes HIIT workouts to the next level, far beyond what I knew . Thanks for Keeping my health, fitness and energy levels right up there all the way through - who leaves a holiday fitter than they came !

I enjoy the variety of classes - love the new schedule on a Sunday- I find a lot of these bad reviews are people just not reading their contracts. READ terms and conditions before you sign. Yes! there are cancellation fees, you are entering a contract for xx months so if you want to get out of it some fees will apply. Don't want to sign up for too long. just do a shorter term...it's not hard. I have to add frontdesk Staff do an amazing job at dealing with some people who have nothing better to do than complain when asked to scan in or just follow the rules. Good job.

Fantastic experience: The way the gym supported it's members throughout COVID lockdowns and their ongoing communication is great. No doubt they've been through a hard time but they keep investing in the gym and it shows. From a personal perspective, they've also been great to deal with. They're unpretentious, understanding and if you're lucky enough to deal with Libby she's the best.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym to train at , Staff are always lovely and welcoming. The group fitness timetable accommodates for everyone and is tailored to meet their needs, offering a diverse range of les mills classes . The creche offers a range of activities for all the kids , The girls in there have become like family to all of my children over the last ten years, and I have the comfort of knowing they are well cared for whilst I train . Hands down the best gym ❤️.

Fantastic experience: I am a foundation member, commencing my Goodlife membership in 2012. A big part of joining this gym was knowing that my two children would be taken care of in the crèche whilst I trained. To ensure my kids got the best child minding experience, I spent some time with Tracey and the amazing crèche team to see how they interacted with families either new to parenthood and parents with one or more children. I instantly felt very comfortable leaving my kids in the capable and very professional hands of the crèche team. Dropping off and picking up my kids from the crèche was seamless and always a joy. Tracey sets a very high standard for herself and the team, displaying a positive attitude and always ensuring safety first. The crèche is always clean and there’s lots of play equipment and entertainment for the children. One of the best crèche centres I’ve ever seen, I highly recommend the crèche services at Goodlife Fountain Gate.

Fantastic experience: As a mother with 2 little kids and having trained in various gyms over 18 years I can vouch for Goodlife Fountain Gate as being one of the best if not the best in the South East region of Melbourne. Firstly this gyms' equipment is exceptional having more than enough equipment available for use. Further, the gyms' equipment itself is fantastic. The cardio equipment is new and high quality, the machines for body building are amazing, there's loads of variety. I'd therefore say this gym covers both fitness junkies and body builders.. or anyone in between:-) I personally havnt done classes but are well aware of the amazing and motivating room which smashes out eg HIIT classes etc etc in the mornings which look and sound pretty cool. Trainers are awesome here, very professional. Staff greet you warm and are welcoming upon arrival. Bench with coffee machine woo hoo and comfy seating in foyer. The location itself is great being within Fountain Gate complex which is soooo convenient for a mum, or anyone I guess. On that note the gym is great having a high quality creche which is a great option for mums. The main area has floor to ceiling windows with nice view which feels really refreshing and motivating when you're training, alongside plenty of floor space, just love it. Reiterate, state of the art equipment at Goodlife Fountain Gate. Really happy as both being just an individual and mum to be a part of this gym, and the environment, culture in addition makes an effective and hardd work out feel much more motivating:-) - More than happy Goodlife Fountain Gate member.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of GL Fountain Gate for about 7 years now after trying out many other Gyms around the Berwick/Narre Warren area. It's the longest time I have ever stayed at a gym for due to the friendly inviting staff and lovely positive/up lifting members. A gym I have always felt comfortable going to as it has such a diverse range of members from the youngest to the elderly and those in between!.. All different body shapes/sizes and abilities.....A gym that caters for all without feeling 'self conscience' ... Has a small area at the back of the 'cardio area' that has a couple of spin bikes & pin loaded machines which are great for those members that prefer not to go into such a big space of free weights & pin loaded weights... It's a perfect combination. Luke the Manager is always approachable as are all the staff!.... Highly recommend GL Fountain Gate for all!

Positive experience: I was a member of Goodlife Fountain Gate for a good 3 years and decided to cancel half way through the worst peak of Covid . I had also studied through Fit College at Goodlife and found that to be generally a good experience although Covid stuffed that up completely with classes getting canceled. Overall my time at the gym was fine as I mostly attended late at night after my afternoon shift and had free use of pretty much anything so that was pretty awesome. Only gripe at night was that for a good 6 months there was some homeless lady in gym attire sleeping on the stage in the main cardio room where they held classes .Most nights that I would go in there she would abuse me and was fairly obnoxious. I assume she paid for a membership just to have a roof over her head at night . I did raise the issue but still she was there and I could not use the room for that reason. The music was pretty good at night and you didn’t have to wear your own headphones as I found it decent enough. Equipment you cannot help but tripping over as there are lazy gym goer’s that don’t abide by the rules so make it difficult for us people that re-rack our dumbbells and put our bumper plates and kettlebells back . The main issue I had was not really with staff as they all seemed pretty friendly and approachable when I would attend on weekends but more so management higher up the chain, owners, stakeholders,toffee snobs whatever you want to call them not fixing a damm thing in the place and thinking of their back pockets only There were lockers always broken or missing mechanisms , cable machines that had issues, not enough hand straps to go around so your constantly walking over to the opposite side of the gym to look for attachments as they are missing. For what I paid per month I felt a bit dissapointed. One major draw back was not having access to a proper bench that could decline not just a flat bench that only inclines. Useless for a gym chain with so much money. In the future if I did ever join a gym again I’d probably go elsewhere in terms of value per month for what you pay but since Covid I set up my own home gym so I am happier with home workouts for now. Goodlife in my opinion was better in it’s hey day when it first started . There were some great trainers that have moved on to bigger and better things .
