Above and beyond :)) The club could improve the regularity of the classes (mainly Monday spin) but great location and venue overall!! Staff are 10/10

Negative experience: Goodlife Gym in Docklands used to be a complete package with a convenient location, well-equipped facilities, cleanliness, and friendly staff. However, over the past few months, I have noticed a significant decline, particularly in the equipment section. Whether it's introducing new equipment like the Adductor Machine, Abductor Machine, Decline Chest Press Machine, or Vertical Chest Press Machine, or repairing the existing equipment, the process has become very slow and takes ages to act on any requests. Recently, I requested a basic barbell squat pad, as the existing ones are in very poor condition. It has already been a month, but the request has not been fulfilled yet.

Fantastic experience: Goodlife Gym, Docklands has all the necessary equipments, good ambience and is in close proximity to Southern Cross station. The staff here are courteous, helpful and ready to provide guidance if required. I have been to few other Goodlife facilities and can really vouch for Goodlife Docklands. The facility is clean and is generously spaced so that everyone has their own space while doing exercise. I would certainly recommend Goodlife Docklands.

Negative experience: Very poor customer service and no patience at all. One tip: If your customer service is impatient, please don't pick up the customer's phone. (luckily problem solved, otherwise I'll give zero star).Ruined my whole day.

Positive experience: Good gym with decent equipment and front of house have improved dramatically of late.
Negative experience: Staff are pleasant, the vibe of the gym good, but the hygiene standards are appalling in the men’s bathroom. The showers are filthy and have not been cleaned in a week that I know of, and who knows when they were cleaned prior to that. Goodlife in general need to really lift their hygiene and cleanliness standards. I go to 3 different locations and they are all consistently woeful when it comes to hygiene and cleanliness. Seriously considering lodging a complaint with the Health Complaints Commissioner.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional service. I just made a request to transfer my membership to another location and it’s been around 2 weeks they are processing the request, however they are charging me the money in this high cost of living time.

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed and offended by the discriminatory behavior I experienced at this gym. A young white trainer with yellow curly hair displayed blatant discrimination against Asians and LGBTQ+ individuals. While my friend and I were working out together, he repeatedly warned us not to speak in any language other than English. Our English is not very good, and his behavior made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. I hope I never have to encounter this discriminatory individual again. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and should not be tolerated in any establishment.

Negative experience: I was a platinum PLUS member at Goodlife, Dockland, for a few months. In early April 2024, I asked to cancel my membership due to budget constraints. In response to my first email, the Goodlife Dockland team offered a cheaper alternative and asked if I still wanted to cancel. I confirmed that I wanted to cancel the membership. They said it would be cancelled in 30 days. However, I noticed they were still deducting gym fees from my account by late May. I called them, and they apologised, assuring me the money would be refunded within 7 business days. The guy also said they will discontinue deducting the gym fee from my bank account right away. As of today (17th of June), despite their apology over the phone and assurances of a refund, the issue remains unresolved, and they continue to deduct gym fees from my account. I still cannot believe that the matter was neglected. What I want you to do, I want you to talk about this with your team and found out theses cases that were not resolved for the last 3 months, and settle them down ASAP. I wanted you to know that I have been stressed A LOT for the last 2 months and this is my last straw before making this matter bigger.

Negative experience: Poor customer service and equipment was terrible! Paid for casual visit which is $20 PP, the guy at the front didn’t offer to show us around he was basically a bot he had no expression or interest. Equipment was below poor, machines were either broken or just old and janky. A lot of upper body machines which checks out because it looked like all the trainers didn’t know how to build muscle on their legs, if you’re also after cardio they have about 30 treadmills. Not a good gym to train at if you’re a lifter of any sort! The chairs were stained like someone urinated on them and never cleaned, overall the place looks like it’s never been cleaned. Bathrooms were nice. Thats it

Negative experience: I have bad customer service with a reception at Good Life Docklands. I came to the gym for my appointment with PT and there are three staff at reception. One of the staff yelled at me about forgetting to touch up. I already touched up for glass door that I through and I don’t know that I need to touch it up again at the reception desk and nobody told me when I registered for membership. I don’t feel really good for yelling at me for this case. I believe this doesn’t include customer service when the management team trained him on how to treat members. I went to ask this staff and he and his mate told me I neglected for the first time yelling. I can’t hear properly because of the music from the gym and every last time I reach the gym doesn’t need to touch it up. So I told them please don’t talk to me like that but he told me that’s my fault and refused to say sorry to me. I do want to get some action for this incident because of my safety. I believe coming to the gym makes feel confident and stress relief and doesn’t mean members get bullied by staff from reception.

Negative experience: Cleanliness of the gym is concerning. Toilets can go days without being cleaned properly and getting refilled. There is always an empty soap dispenser and a hand towel box. The gym floor is always dirty with bootmarks on the floor. I have encountered a couple of times that the people vaping in the change room...
Negative experience: They promote a free trial, but when you go to check it out, they ask you to sign up for membership and cancel the next day without any charge if you don’t like it. After canceling the next day, they tried charging the full amount on my credit card the day after. Rude over the phone and very pushy to join the gym in person.

Negative experience: Went with a one time free pass download as a promo. When I got there 2 awkward blokes sat us down to chat and didn’t let us use the gym unless we signed up there and then. Scam.
Positive experience: Hard to find but great large gym and friendly staff!
Negative experience: Terrible customer service, basic premises and lack of professionalism within staff, false advertising with the trials and expensive prices for memberships , I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anybody, I will suggest join the good life in South Melbourne as it has better facilities and better equipment.
Negative experience: The worst payment system I have experienced. * They charge 20 AU per month when freezing your membership. * you have 28 days limit to freeze your membership * The charge weekly and they charge 10 AU if you just delay one day every payment. * They charge one month in advance if you would like to cancel your membership. * Limited number of equipments . The only good thing is 24 hours open .

Positive experience: I'm Brazilian, and I came to study English in Australia, so I still don't communicate well, and some employees are simply very attentive and patient, that already wins me over. There is a lot of structure and equipment, but some devices for women are missing, such as the adductor and abductor, a device that is very necessary for us women. I don't know if I will continue due to the lack of this device. more in itself , very good !

Fantastic experience: So I just joined and ai have nothing but positives to report. An amazing Customer service. I cannot wait to tell anyone and everyone about my experience. Friendly staff who make you feel special even though I am one of over 2K other clients. The facilities are spacious I’ll add more information gotta finish stretching so I can go out with my friends before going home.

Negative experience: Equipment is nice feels like I'm working out in an office. Squat racks don't have any mirrors so can't check yourself out or your depth,form. Employee tries to convince me this is the best deal ever. But because I ask questions and don't just say yes to everything he gets snobby with me and starts being rude. I then ask if I can have some time to think about it and if I can get a workout in and tells me to leave. Gym culture is dying wouldn't recommend. Probably one of the worst gym experiences I've had traveling all of Australia.

Positive experience: Ample lockers with touch keypad and BYO locks. Gym is small and busy during between 7am-10am, 12pm-2pm, 5pm onwards on weekdays as the working crowd from nearby offices flood the gym.

Negative experience: UPDATE Just cancelled my 40% discounted membership. Here's my post-cancellation survey feedback: At Goodlife Docklands, weights were always mixed up. Staff never sorted them, and members didn't put them back in the correct order. Fans were always turned off, and there is an apparent taboo about turning them on amongst some members. In addition, fans used to always be switched off at the power points, requiring me to dangerously stand on foam steps to switch it back on. Only until I left a one-star Google Maps review did the staff finally hang signage instructing against this practice, despite requesting this several times for several months. This was a common occurrence for other maintenance issues – broken toilets, empty hand sanitiser dispensers, malfunctioning showers, horrible filtered water taps… I visited Goodlife Fitzroy for a while, and the staff were similarly complacent. I guess you could summarise it with Goodlife staff don't seem to care much about members after they sign the dotted line (except if they're PT clients). At my former council-run gym, the idle staff would go around cleaning equipment, organising weights, and straightening everything. With Docklands, at any given moment, you'd see up to five staff standing around the customer service desk chatting, like I saw during my last visit. It's not a good look, and it makes me question what I'm paying for. It's in stark contrast with other gyms, and particularly with the new gym I have signed up to, Virgin Active. ORIGINAL REVIEW Fans are always turned off. Complained about it multiple times, but the staff and management don't care. It seems other customers don't know about the fan switch by the wall, so they stand precariously on the Ironedge steps and switch the fans off by the power point. I've asked staff to at least erect signage, to no avail. Staff never open balcony doors to allow ventilation – you'd think we weren't in a pandemic/super-flu wave or something.
Positive experience: I’m using Goodlife Docklands for the last three years and I find that a sense of community is a very positive experience here. But the staff as well as the trainers are extremely welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: It's so hard to come across a gym that ticks off all the boxes.. and when you find one, you can't find a plan that would suit.. Long story, short: that was the story of my life until I came across Goodlife. Shout out to Lochie for making this journey absolutely seamless, comfortable and so well tailored to my requirements. I definitely recommend you get touch with Lochie if you're headed to the Goodlife gym in Docklands - total legend!
Negative experience: They hardly ever buy new equipments, and the adm thinks that only man work out here, so there isn’t much options for lower body workout. The stuff is rude, the public smells bad, the class room doesn’t have a system to clean the air and the room smells bad after the classes. If I had another gym close home I would have left already. I actually only work out here twice a week and home the other days. The stuff doesn’t even care when we complain. I almost forgot, the lockers are dirty too… there are spilled liquid marks that have never been cleaned for this two years I have been working out here. If you have another option, dodge this bullet.

Negative experience: Terrible Gym ever. Good life just a trap, after cancel membership, they still deduct money from your account. Had canceled my membership on July, got deducted on Monday this week. Calling them, they saying “COVID suspension”. So,please don’t come to this gym, guys. Terrible experience.

Negative experience: I am happy with everything about this club till the day I want to cancel my membership. First, during the lockdown they still charge for 5 dollars per week even no one can use the facilities due to government regulation. Good life promise the 5 dollars charge is temporary and will be deduced from your membership fee when the gym reopen, but the fee NEVER GOT REDUCDED. Second, wired policy of 30 days notice period if you want to cancel your membership. I called a month ago to cancel my membership, but due to the COVID situation the club is close for 3 weeks, when its reopen, they told me I still need to pay for additional 30days ??? cause the lockdown dose not account for my eligible notice period? Now I have already move to another state and has no way of access any of the facilities, so they are just essentially taking money from your bank account for the ridiculous policy they set up. I am pretty upset.

Negative experience: Nothing against Goodlife in general but one of the staff named DAMAN @ DOCKLANDS is really arrogant, insecure, rude and unprofessional. He called my friend number of times, just because he thought that the respondent hung up on him & wanted to do the same. When she did not answer from the landline number, Mr. DAMAN Started calling and texting from his personal number. Please have a look at the pictures, as a part of responses from my referrals and be careful while providing any personal information or the referrals to few. Could be a lesson.

Negative experience: Beware of their money grabbing tactics. They will keep deducting your money even when the gym is closed due to lockdown. And there's no customer care number to contact or escalate. Horrible!

Negative experience: Absolutely no atmosphere at this gym. It’s boring. I much prefer South Melbourne or Prahran. A lot more happening and better vibes
Fantastic experience: Good size, clean, neat & weights are generally racked back. Only find the weights messy & un racked if you do an early morning session Saturday & Sunday, when the night gym users leave their mess. Good location. Heaps of street parking if you train early morning.

Negative experience: Goodlife Dockland hopeless.. unprofessional.. zero customer service.. too much attitude.. money Steelers.. useless .. no concern what the customer is going through. Very unhappy with Goodlife... I don’t recommend this Goodlife 1000 time with my bitter experience, people out there if you want to take membership with Goodlife think 1000 times once you are in it, they will just not let you live in peace as they have zero concern about your situation. Be prepared to loose you peace or money. COVID has changed lifestyle so I was unable to attend goodlife. I have been pressurised by Goodlife to attend the gym, even after telling them that I have moved places and it takes 40 mins to travel and i couldn’t drive. Goodlife response to me was pay $200 to cancel, or sell this product for them which is find a replacement, or pay for suspension/ freezing it or attend the gym. Either way you die or do one of the above cause they want to be money Steelers, just get the money in don’t care what customer goes through. Zero rating to this Gym...

Fantastic experience: Love it!! Best gym ever!!! I get $14.99 every week, its a worth, all the staff are amazing, I love coming to this gym to do some workouts.. I am enjoying having pt sessions with Jack.. he taught me so much, my goals is to get stronger!
Negative experience: Decent gym, fairly large and with a good variety in equipment and space for other exercise. Aside from that, the staff are the most unprofessional I've ever encountered at a gym. I cancelled my membership during the lockdown and only recently discovered that they've still been debiting my account in secret. They are really dodgy with memberships, once they've got your card details it'll be a nightmare to escape them. If you've got options, I'd recommend another gym.
Negative experience: I canceled the card 4 months ago. They said they would deduct money but they didn't deduct it so I saved it in my account and then today, they couldn't deduct it so I deducted more than $ 60 from myself for some kind of fee that I didn't know. I do not accept the regular deduction of money without notice and then charge without my knowledge. This is one of the worst gyms I've ever known, both expensive and few equipment. I recommend that you do not register as a member here. Not only that, when they told me I would give me a 7-day trial but still activate my member card. What a scam!
Negative experience: One of the worst gyms I’ve gone too. Customer service was shocking, I got 1-2 calls a day bugging me to buy a membership and then everything with Covid and they want to charge me extra fees to cancel because I wasn’t a member for 1 month lol not my fault your gym has to close. Absolutely disgusting. Would not recommend to anyone.

Negative experience: Very aggressive while signing you up, but when you ask for support regarding equipment or a membership cancellation, you get staff members making you visit repeatedly, keeping you waiting for 30+ min, run away from desk when they see you enter or give downright dangerous exercise advice for your health condition. This is after refusing the 10 day free trial (and $200 out of pocket for less than a month of membership). Terrible experience.
Negative experience: Terrible customer service!! Happy to sign you up and get you locked in to a direct debit payment cycle but hopelessly slow at processing membership cancellation. I have moved cities for work and tried to deactivate my membership over 3 months ago.
Negative experience: Pros: Opens 24/7 Thats it, i have a long list of cons. Cons: Unethical - After you join the club, they introduce different kinds of hidden fees and charges. Referral Bonus - You'll be promised for a free month training if you refer friends and family. But after you do it, response is like "oh ! We are not running that offer now. Its only for other clubs not for docklands" Small - Compared to other Good life gym, its small. Cleanliness - couldn't find a spray or paper towel to clean up. Studios - only one studio available, other classes are run in a cycle studio which is cramped. Overall, my experience with this gym is bad due to unethical staffs working there. Extremely disappointed ...
Negative experience: The facility is way to small in general and definitely cannot accomodate the number of users. Cleanses is poor and equipment is very limited and just left all over. Goodlife has some very good clubs, this is clearly not up to standards.
Negative experience: ...basically what everyone else has been saying. And condescending tone and service of person (CS Manager) who "help" me close my account. Priceless.
Negative experience: Wrong information about payment days. Abusive fees. The staff couldn't do much to solve problems of payment because the company which makes them is completely independent from the gym. Lack of equipments. Some lockers don't work.
Negative experience: Be very careful, they make you sign contracts and then change the rules of said contract if you want to cancel. Ended getting a middle ground solution however still extremely disappointed in the service.
Positive experience: A great health club that goes together well with a good gym. Equipment is maintained well, they have stepped it up a lot since I joined three years ago. There are a lot of people in the gym at peak hours, which could make it quite crowded. A few lazy gym goers that don’t put weights back on racks or use towels. Staff are friendly and try their best to rectify this by putting weights back regularly. The health club is fairly priced, you’ll mainly pay for a gym membership, if you're on the lowest plan there are also compulsory payments to have PT checkups every quarter which is $9.95, you cannot opt out for them. Lots of great classes to join in on if that’s your fancy. Bathroom facilities are great and cleaned regularly. Overall a great place if you want those extra services (PT & Classes). Keep up the great work.
