Negative experience: I’ve been coming here for a few years I’ve also noticed no improvement in any of the issues - cleanliness, lack of new equipment, aircon , women’s room has no aircon either I’ve been reading reviews from others posted and the responses from the manager are all promising however it seems to be a case of “all talk “ Fitness first use to have a prestigious name but this gym has honestly tarnished that You need to renovate , upgrade equipment and keep it clean ! And it’s the only gym that still opens 7am Saturday and 9am Sunday !!! Seriously ?! Get with the times guys The only reason I still haven’t cancelled is the convenience but I’m not sure I’ll be hanging in much longer It’s a shame the place has so much potential

Negative experience: Terrible experience when I cancelled my membership. The gym started charging me again for 4 weeks. Despite calling and putting though a cancellation request form. I do not recommend.

Negative experience: Very bad service, I was told the gym was 24/7 by a staff member called Ann the day I went to sign up but turned out to be false informations. I did contact and asked them to cancel my membership as I can’t use the gym because I needed a 24/7 I can access anytime I want. Been sending emails to the staff and the manager himself since 18 of August but no action taken. Went there more than once to see the manager himself since no action has been taken but, every time I go there, either the staff member tells me the manager is not here today, sometimes they tell me that the manager is away on a holiday, come back next time or some other day or call between 1-5pm. Since no action has been taken, I canceled the payment on my own, did sign up into a 24/7 access gym already. Now they asking me for a final notice else, it will go far, why would I still or have to be pay for something that I’m not using? I did contact you FITNESS FIRST to cancel the membership and close the account but you didn’t do anything about it, just keep ignoring my emails, my calls and at the end of the day sending me final notice for what? I do have all evidences of those emails asking to talk with the manager but been ignored since the 18 of August. Today I decided to call and ask for the manager again, I was on the phone as I was discussing the issues that has been happening since the 18 of August with the receptionist, without even finishing the conversation, the receptionist just hanged up the call on me. Very bad service I’ve ever experienced.

Negative experience: The aircon in this gym never works properly. It was so hot inside that I had to leave my workout midway. Women’s area doesn’t even have the aircon, only fans 1 of which wasn’t even working. The gym floor is always smelling and needs a deep cleaning. Not to mention i never got my 5 weeks of promised free membership when I signed up.

Negative experience: Scariest and dirtiest men's changerooms. This is not what us members have signed up for.. Locker doors are broken and filled with dust. Showers are dirty. It appears as though they have not been cleaned in years. Fitness first Parramatta is the most dirtiest. City and Eastern suburbs clubs are up to standards but not most clubs in the west. I think I might move to Virgin Active.

Negative experience: Worst maintenance. Have no reputation for the name fitness first. Group fitness class studio aircon has been under repair and never fixed since Feb 2024. Hand dryer in the ladies rest room has been non functional for months now. Have repeatedly complained for hygiene measures and no solution. The temporary solution of having paper towels is also not executed by the staff members. Pathetic service. They forget their duties to maintain a gym but they never forget to deduct membership fee and increases the fees from time to time.

Fantastic experience: My experience with the Fitness First Parramatta was exceptional. I was not a member for very long because I moved from Parramatta, but I enjoyed being a member for about two months, especially the group classes. All the classes I attended were great, including Body Pump, Zumba, Pilates, Body Attack, and Body Balance. The instructors are great and always show alternatives to cater to people of different fitness and abilities. They are also very engaging and professional and put much effort into making classes exciting and connecting with the members. The ample, clean space and the female changing room are spacious and neat. The female-only gym is small and has limited equipment, but the main gym is fantastic and spread over two floors. It was never too crowded. The only area for improvement that I identified is that when I enrolled, no one showed me around, so I did not even know what a quiet room was, for instance (by the time I noticed it, I was already leaving). I was on a no-lock-in contract, and it was straightforward to freeze my membership while traveling and cancel it when I decided to leave. I also enrolled online, which was very easy and user-friendly. If I ever live again in Parramatta, I would rejoin, and I recommend this gym to all locals as it offers various classes in a friendly and hygienic environment.

Negative experience: The experience I had at this gym was beyond appalling. Upon trying to arrange a trial session, the receptionist treated me with outright hostility and unwelcoming disdain. Apparently, my crime was not living in their precious neighborhood, which somehow made me ineligible to even set foot in their establishment. Despite my willingness to pay for their services, I was summarily dismissed as if my money wasn't good enough. I promptly walked out, vowing never to return. Congratulations to the staff for achieving a new low in customer service. If arrogance and exclusion are what you seek in a gym, look no further!

Negative experience: Hello everyone I used to go to this gym and i have a lot info to let you know. The worst sauna that I’ve been to is fitness first parramatta, its the most filthiest place i ever been, the Cockroaches is all over there and the smell of sweat is too strong. I notified the stuff and the didn’t do anything about it. The general cleaning in studio was in very poor condition. I also have been through some harassment by an instructor and participants regarding racism and rude altitudes. Poorest management that i ever seen is the management in parramatta branch.Never go there anymore.

Negative experience: Worst managed club. No complaint is ever heard. No lock works in the locker room. The club is dirty and not worth any spending. This club doesn’t even deserve one star.

Negative experience: My goodness this is a bad gym. Coming from St Leonards or even Top Ryde FF, this gym is trash. I don't mind facilities that's worn down but this Parramatta FF looked like it got ransacked. Half the lockers in male toilet are with missing doors and ones that has doors, doesn't even lock. Customer service at the front desk isn't helpful either. Go Carlingford or Top Ryde FF.

Negative experience: I’ve been a fitness first member for over 20 years, and the state of destruction within parramatta fitness first is so bad it’s a joke. This is not a premium level gym The men’s change room has 32 doors missing and I couldn’t be bothered counting the ones that didn’t work. The staff lie to your face telling you that it will be fixed every time you complain, Don’t waste your money coming here The clubs around the city and CBD are so much better and are properly looked after, the management should be ashamed of themselves.

Positive experience: 5/5 for the Wed 7.30pm body balance class (Bolina was great highly recommend) and impressive cardio room but 3/5 for the gym equipment. No deadlifting/hipthrust/bumper plates and the dumbbells don’t have weight labels on them (faded or broken off).

Negative experience: gym is horrible and manager should honestly be fired and should never think about working in a gym. they have a reputation of not letting people cancel their membership overall gym is horrid and awful. Hope this gym goes out of business

Negative experience: absolutely appalling, they take all of our money for what?, just to not repair lockers, get new equipment and organise the gym properly, this gym is also bad in terms of the locker rooms, it has a very poor sewerage system everytime the sink just overflows, urine all over the floors and it’s just a filthy place to train, they are also very dodgy with their contracts.

Negative experience: The reason I have given 2 star is because the gym is too cold. I normally come after 9am during weekdays and there are hardly people on the floor and despite repeated requests, the AC remains full blown cold. I have been told that this is fixed at this temperature and can’t change, which doesn’t make sense. To top it all, winters are coming in, not sure for what reason the AC is colder than the temperature outside.

Positive experience: lockers wont work at all. i told it to the reception and they "reset" my card but still no to avail. well, at least i can get my training done and the crowd here isnt bad like other FF gyms i have been to, so its fine by me.

Negative experience: I don’t even want to mention lockers and other problems. The main problem for me is the unavailability of the gym to progress. I had my last training today and I don’t want to come to this gym anymore. I have 11 y.o daughter. I have days when I have no one to leave her with. I asked the staff if it’s possible if she comes with me some days and she would sit in a corner playing on a tablet. She wouldn’t bother anyone. I got told that she can’t go upstairs to the gym area. Obviously, no one is gonna look after her at the reception area. I’d never leave my kid where she is not under control. Thanks that there are other gyms where it’s not a problem. Negative experience: It’s 2024, you’d expect Fitness First Parra to have working lockers at a minimum but today the lockers either had no doors, or no actual locking mechanism. I hadn’t been to the FF parra gym for a few years now and it’s seems that it hasn’t gotten any kind of love from management at all over the years. TV’s don’t work. There was no music. The ac was weak so they needed fans and half of them didn’t work. Most equipment is torn and the same machines from +10 years ago when I’d go in uni. I go to FF in the cities and other locations and they’re great. If you’re looking for a gym in parra, there are local chains that are cheaper and have better maintained gyms. It’s a shame to see a company that isn’t the cheapest letting their gym in Sydneys second biggest city outside of the CBD wither away like this.

Negative experience: This gym provided the worst experience I've ever encountered. In the women's section, machine repairs took months, IF they were repaired, and weights/ equipment would be frequently taken off. The gym's atmosphere is overwhelmingly male-centric, and some staff members exhibit rude behaviour towards customers. Moreover, they impose an exorbitant $10 fee on top of account charges, if the FIRST attempt is unsuccessful, debiting it without forewarning. Despite having sufficient funds in my account, I've been charged this fee multiple times without reimbursement, despite providing bank statements as evidence. The company has failed to address this issue adequately.

Positive experience: Gym is very spacious and has some great group classes but could use some better equipment. The bathrooms could be cleaned better and made more hygienic
Negative experience: Do not plan to join this gym if you are unsure whether you can continue for long run or not. They make it extremely hard to terminate the membership even if it for month to month basis. Also their promotions are biggest scams !

Negative experience: This is a really sad fitness first. Most of lockers don’t even have a door anymore, or they don’t work and won’t lock, and it’s been like this for a long time. By far the worst Fitness First I’ve been to, do not recommend.
Negative experience: This place is a wasted space . Never expected such low standards from an international chain .
Negative experience: Rude staff and dirty shower. Half of the lockers were broken and the floor was dirty in the male shower room. Teenage boys were shouting in the shower so a gentle man, gym member, made a verbal complaint to the staff. The staff just ignored him and walked off. Such a shame the facility itself is spacious and okay but the bad maintenance and customer service turned me off
Negative experience: disappointing customer service encounter at Fitness First Parramatta today, March 8th, 2024, around 1:50 pm. The staff member at the front desk was extremely rude and lacked basic customer service etiquette. This behavior is unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of your gym.
Negative experience: Worst customer service ever!!! Me and my partner have been trying to talk to “shaggy” and he hasn’t respond any emails or calls. When we were interested in joining the gym that guy was always responding, now that we need to finish our contract he doesn’t respond and the recepction team said that for some reason our request was already in place and that our final payment was on feb 22th. It is now march and nothing has happend. No one replies, no one knows anything. It’s definitely a fraud and the worst experience I’ve ever had
Negative experience: I had a very bad experience I booked an appointment for fitness check and mentioned clearly about that since I dont leave around paramatta. After reaching they got to know that I'm hear for fitness check and not for gym membership. They took sometime around 15min to tell me to wait for half an hour. When I came back after 40min they said the person who do health check is on lunch break. This is very unprofessional. I advise your staff to be professional.
Negative experience: Do NOT join this gym if you ever plan to try and leave. They make it impossible to cancel a membership even when you've paid the 30 day notice period. It's absolutely disgusting service. There are many other better gyms in Parramatta.

Negative experience: We joined because of sauna but then suddenly it was broken and it has never been fixed. So we wanted to cancel our membership, but then they try to charge around $200 each of me and my husband for cancellation, not happy as to why am i charged for a cancellation fee when the reason of cancellation is because their own downgrade? We were asked to email, which i did, and was promised to get a reply ASAP, as he mentioned “hopefully the sauna is fixed by next week”, but when i ask when? He said he will update us by replying the email, well, none replied. we have did everything that we can, (anyway the one who promise to update us is swagap) anyway i called again today on saturday just to ask if sauna is working, and still not. I lost my passion. Easy peasy just replace my debit card then. Bye fitness first parramatta. You have lost yourself 2 great customers.

Negative experience: I left my bag in one of the lockers and it was stolen. When I reached out to the manager and staff they were very rude and never helped me check the cameras. Even though I asked them formally to do so via email, they ignored my email. Good to know they only care about enrolling new people but they don't care even about members safety and well-being. Worst club ever.
Negative experience: Both my partner and I cancelled our membership almost 2 years back. They cancelled only wife's membership but not mine. They continue to charge me $18.54 per week till date, in total approximately $1928.15. Be aware of theses scam masters.

Negative experience: I got a free pass at the parramatta fitness first today and even got an email confirmation to come in, but before I could come in I received a call from the branch telling me that I needed to pay a $25 casual entry fee. What is the point of a free pass if I’ll be charged a fee?? False advertising at its finest. Extremely disappointing and a total waste of time:

Negative experience: The gym's most unpleasant area is infested with cockroaches, and the stench in the men's locker room is particularly strong.
Negative experience: I become members already more than 8 years ago and I never seen any maintenance every things until now. the lockers it's not working properly, the door can't be lock and some lockers don't have any door and the floors after got mop the smell its very bad. please fix all that for all the members feel comfortable. many peoples already did complain about everything but until now no one fix all this issues.

Fantastic experience: I can only speak to my experience as an interstate visitor, but the facilities seem well appointed, tidy and spacious when I visited. Sounds like gym staff/management could do with some re-training, but the facilities seemed more than adequate (although somewhat dated) when I visited.

Negative experience: Not only is the management here completely inept, but their response to customer concerns is shockingly rude. It's like they actively try to alienate their members with their dismissive and disrespectful attitude.
Negative experience: This by far the worst gym. They make it almost impossible for you to exit the membership despite the no lock in clause in the contract. Do not go to this gym if you want your peace of mind. Plus their personal trainers are not professional. If you do not extend your sessions with them they will not show up and ignore you calls and messages asking to reschedule the appointments.
Negative experience: Shocking place. Staff are so rude. Machines are so old and dirty, not maintained properly. As you can see in the photos handles are worn out and dust on surfaces. Wiring is exposed and there are holes in the wall in some places. I tried to take more photos but the manager saw me and got very aggressive.
Positive experience: Going to gym from past 6 months and don't have complaints
Negative experience: Because there was no option to rate in negative, the manager here only wants your money even if we are medically unfit to train and after providing the medical certificates. If you want to lose your money for nothing join them asap.

Negative experience: The Parramatta venue regularly has issues with their sauna and steam room. I spoke to someone about it on Saturday, then came back Friday morning to find it's still not fixed. I was told a job was logged on Monday. Person I spoke to originally didn't log a job immediately on that Saturday
Negative experience: Is this the worst gym in Parramatta? Or is it just the worst managed? If you want a gym with no etiquette, where people don’t have towels, don’t put equipment away, talk loudly and have no shoes on then this is the gym for you! And the above is the habits of some of the personal trainers :). When you let management know they turn into an ostrich, how the hell would they know what’s going on when they hide in their office?
Negative experience: The most unhygienic Centre I’ve been to. Old and worn down machines and the center is basically just a mess. Further more have I wanted to cancel my membership, but because of a mistake I had to pay for 2 months more. Very bad experience, would definitely not recommend this fitness center to anyone.
Positive experience: I've been a member of this gym for years. This gym is not too bad. They keep changing the classes which is annoying.
Negative experience: DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS I WOULD. THE CLUB MANAGER DOES NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION OF YOUR CONCERNS. MACHINES DONT WORK, LOCKERS ARE BROKEN, TOILETS ABSOLUTELY FILTHTY. ALL THEY WANT IS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. ITS GONE DOWN HILL
Positive experience: Staff are friendly, changing rooms smell very bad.
Negative experience: this gym is only for people to have bad oder equipment needs to be updated cancelling a membership is over $200 what a rip off
Positive experience: Too many arab school boys at the afternoon time , sometime they forget to respect other members and without any hesitation they use vape inside the locker room where there is no camera. And during weekdays you cant get to use the equipments for more than hours. And also you can see people preoccupied two equipment at the same time (leg extension + hamstrings at the same time and do not want to share exists in this gym. Its kind of sad. I tried putting complain but it barley changed so far.

Fantastic experience: The sales manager Harit was very considerate and helpful with my gym walkthrough and was prepared to cater to my specific needs. The staff was also very kind. A gym i’d look to come back to in the future.
Negative experience: Worst experience with a receptionist at this gym. She called to harass me for an overdue payment which I have only been notified a day ago. The overdue payment was because of a pro rata payment calculated as I upgraded my membership and next debit payment will be one week later. She said they will call me every day between now and next direct debit day until I make the payment. I have never missed a payment since I joined the club and the overdue payment is not technically due to nonpayment. This lady is so rude and doesn’t listen nor understand what’s going on. Nobody should be treated in a such disrespectful way. Hoping no one else need to engage with this lady.

Negative experience: Gym is ok, reception staff is ok. Gym is nasty. Half cardio equipment doesn’t work, washrooms are breeding ground of bacterial and viral infections. Manager is not helpful at all. Worst customer experience.
Negative experience: BEWARE THE WORST GYM AND EXPEREINCE.... They expect you to pay one additional month of gym membership fees and payments just to exit the contract with this gym. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! when you are jumping through hoops just to get out of a contract than you know it's a bad place to join. make sure you read and request all documents before signing. when I came to join most of these important information were left out of the conversion because they are deceptive and only care for you to join and than make it impossible for you to exit. They care more about money than your experience.
Negative experience: Horrible location for people having to drive there. There is no parking you have to park in shopping mall 10 minutes away. At night time not good security. This gym is only good for people working in parramatta and can walk there. Also have to walk up at least 30 steps to from street level to get to gym entry. I went there to quit. Find a far better practical gym where you can park close. It is the worst gym in terms of location.
Positive experience: Needs parking and more classes, behind on the pilate reformer and yoga studio layout most gyns are driving, no towl hire, aromatherapy room lacks the oils and atmosphere, bright light in there makes it hatd to unwind
Fantastic experience: Travelling with my husband & we visited Fitness First Parramatta. Great facilities & staff were absolutely amazing! A huge thank you to Harit in particular for going above & beyond! We will definitely be back if we come this way again.

Negative experience: Signed up online as a platinum member, and didnt get any call from the staff. Tried to call during business hours though out the day on friday and phone was not answered. Really disappointing service, i was atleast expecting a heads up from the staff regarding collecting my key

Negative experience: did a 1 day trial lots of equipment but hard to get plates as soon as i got of a machine someone came and took the plates of it everytime. was frustrating constantly running round looking for weights the benches are very busy to I cancelled my dumbell press exercises cause i couldnt get a bench also a lot of ppl here dont use towels or wipe the machines down after use its not policed very well all in all not bad but definetly not great either
Positive experience: The only reason I go is for Zumba classes with Roberto - he is the best! The sauna is great, but can get quite busy. There is a nice, private female workout area and a huge cardio space. Plenty of options for weights - both free weights and machines. The bathrooms and showers are kept generally clean. I wish there were was a crèche, so that I could workout more often, and a step climbing machine would be great too.
Positive experience: Equipment is the main thing, I come here for. There is a variety of machines to use. Reception is friendly as you are greeted after arriving. Great atmosphere to train with the uplifting music that they have in the gym. Could get noisy at times but I don't really mind. Machines are being cleaned after use. The main problem is the showers in the men's change room where it just makes this weird and loud noise. The bathroom sometimes are pretty dirty.

Negative experience: Staff is friendly, but air-conditioning is really bad. You feel that largely on a hot summer day when workout becomes difficult because of not enough ventilation. Washrooms stalls need to be cleaned more often than they are. Especially the male ones.

Do not sign up here your money could be better spent elsewhere. Multiple attempts at contacting the management of all these issues with no response or acknowledgement.

Negative experience: Skill less management, disappointing customer service. I went there to just check the gym and i was insisted on signing up on the same day with a 7 day cooling off period. The gym was extremely busy hence i went in the next day within the cooling off period to cancel the agreement. I was promised that the agreement has been cancelled. Two weeks later the joining fee and the weekly fee were deducted from my account despite of the cancellation. I called the gym three times and asked to speak to the manager on three different days but apparently the manager was never available. Then, I went into the gym requesting a cancellation again and request of refund for the deducted funds. Two weeks later, still not received the refund, called the gym, manager again unavailable. Called the next day, manager still unavailable. Went into the gym again the next day to cancel and for the refund. Five weeks later now and still have not received the refund. When I call the gym the manager is never available to speak. This is the worst service ever and seems like they are simply trying to scam people and not provide the eligible refund inspite of calling and going into the gym multiple times to request the same thing when it should have been taken care of the first time we went to cancel. Extremely disappointed with such a big franchise that they are so negligent and careless and do not care about members. To this day I am still waiting for the refund and I have tried calling the gym two more times and the manager never seems to be available to speak! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER UNDOUBTEDLY!!!!

Negative experience: They cant even process a refund in time for my mother in law that cancelled within her cooling off period. Left tons of messages on their voicemail but yet my wife had to prove the cancellation and attempted calls through personal phone records. Club manager and staff are useless. Was told today to wait another 10 days after already waiting 20 days for a refund. Avoid signing up to this gym.
