Loftus Recreation Centre

Negative experience: A few friends of mine booked indoor soccer today. As It was my first time, I've noticed the gym there and asked the two young female receptionists if I could use it. They told me the casual entry fee is around $20, but they have a one-time free trial. I was like, cool, I'll take the trial . She had a quick second thought and refused to let me use the trial. Her reason was like, "Oh, I've strong suspicion that after you are taking the trial, you will not take the membership." When I confronted her judgement, she even called and confirmed this with her manager. Honestly, I've used a lot of fitness gyms and never came across this type of judgemental and un-profitionalim, or should I say racism. I run a business myself, and I believe that as a multi cultural society, we have a strong responsibility to respect and treat everyone the same without judgement. I hope they will better educate and inform their customer service team.

Positive experience: $60 joining fee for the gym....

Negative experience: Booking cancelled twice without any prior notice. Awful experience.

Negative experience: Made a booking for the outdoor soccer court and finalised the payment over the phone. When we came to the centre, we were told that our booking can not go ahead as another group also booked the court. No attempt was made to inform regarding this conflict other than an email which ended up in the junk folder. Some of the players came from Baldivis and had to return. What an absolute mess! Hard to fathom that a centre like this can adopt such a shambolic system. Only possible explanation is that the booking manager deliberately cancelled the booking to make room for another group.

Negative experience: I went to watch a netball game this week and was appalled by the racism and aggression from the umpires. This is not the first time that this has occurred - these umpires are inherently bias against POC and it is so obvious!! I’m unsure if it is because they are uneducated or just so unhappy in their lives, but there is no need to take it out on others, especially young females!!

Negative experience: I actually hate calling this place, why the hell am I redirected to a AI recording when I try to call.‍♂️

Negative experience: Tried to get a cup of hot water to drink. Cafe refused to sell me one and sent me to front desk. Manager refused as it is "against our policy". When back to Cafe. Eventually got them to sell me a cup of tea without the tea bag. Only time I have had to pay $3.50 for hot water out of a kettle.

Fantastic experience: Ok so, I am really wanting to go back here. Ive been but nor for a year. It stilllooks like its up and running so. Ill be popping in again.

Fantastic experience: Good basketball centre

Negative experience: If i could give a negative star i would. Booked two courts for badminton and made payment over the phone for $108. Two days before our event, they called and told us that there is an error in their system and has cancelled our booking. Asked them for a refund but no refund has been given since. Been emailing & calling but no luck. Worst service ever

Positive experience: Great sports facility, but the 9 year olds were given bibs fitting high schoolers which came down to knees. Really? Wasted opportunities due to constant adjusting bibs.

Fantastic experience: Play indoor football here. Fairly priced but can get hot inside in the summer.

Negative experience: The staff in the food kitchen are not nice and polite. If they do not like to deal with the sporting community they should not be working and should not be in communication with the public.

Fantastic experience: What a breath of fresh air! The staff at this recreation centre are genuine, friendly and know what they are doing. Clint is a fantastic trainer. He's knowledgeable and can suit programs to any kind of client. Was lovely that the centre manager came to meet us when we joined up. Thanks guys! You're fantastic.

Negative experience: Below average gym with old equipment and mismatched sets of plates. Charged me when it was supposed to be a free intro then wouldn't get back to me. Would recommend other options in the area for a gym.

Positive experience: Very inclusive and wonderful atmosphere.

Negative experience: The staff are rude and the cafe advertises a menu that "isn't available due to Covid" and over charges you "due to Covid". They don't need to let you know that prices have changed because "that's how things are with vivid". You can blame Covid for a lot of things, but false advertising, overcharging and lack of service are nothing to do with Covid.

Positive experience: Great place

Fantastic experience: A bubbly, functional , fun and friendly place for family, especially for kids .

Negative experience: Called at 3pm to check for basketball court avalability was told yes but at 4pm. Came at 4pm to find no one at counter waited 5 mins and call the telephone number as note at desk no answer. Walked inside to see if court was free was not. Wasted money to get here and courts all used.

Fantastic experience: Great gym! Equipment is kept in good condition and the place is always clean. Lots of natural light if you're not into that dungeon feel that some other gyms have, I never found it overly busy either.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with plenty of fitness equipment for cardio, weightlifting, and calisthenics. I love the free entry! The door is usually open near the service desk, so I just walk right in. They must know I’m a veteran - what a wonderful service Godbless

Positive experience: Its not so bad. Never too busy and equipment is fine. Downside would be parking, it can be horrendous even if the gym is empty due to the sports centre it can be jam packed. Quite pricey for what it is but overall, I enjoy it. The front counter seems to have a load of staff on there and they keep multiplying! but do...very little lol One night I walked in and they were all sitting there swearing and laughing like it was their lounge room. Immature staff like that should be supervised and if one of them was the supervisor....trained. A standard gym. No thrills, nothing special but quiet enough to do your workout and leave. All good.

Fantastic experience: It's a good place to be where sports are played.

Fantastic experience: Great crew and set up. I particularly recommend the Clubbercise if you're looking for cardio.

Negative experience: I fill in for netball teams all over perth all week and Loftus is by far the worst Rec centre to play at. The umpires favour teams and act like they don’t want to be there (mainly the older ones). Keeping in mind I have been filling in for the favoured team and it’s devastating for the other teams that pay to play a fair game. Do not recommend entering your netball team here.

Fantastic experience: Massive thank you to Clint my PT who has been for a year now..I'm so happy with the results I've achieved due to his direction. He listened to me at the start and continues to be the best trainer I've had over the years. I train 3 sessions a week with him and I know for sure he puts his heart into every session, he's been flexible in time change when I've absolutely needed to, even taken in a Sunday so that I could fit in a session. He's an asset to Loftus, they're lucky to have a well rounded professional PT like him, who takes genuine interest in my progress as a client. His people skills and knowledge of how to get the best results for me individually are so appreciated. Clint you are GOLD and so worth recommendation..I have done so with my Mum's group!

Positive experience: A large sports centre in the heart of northbridge

Positive experience: Terrific indoor sporting facility focusing on volleyball, fitness classes, and other fitness/exercise formats ... also has WA Gymnastics Cafe with all the goodies (although if you're there for a while, you may well come away smelling like something fried !). Has AFL footy opposite the Centre - Leeserville Oval, Home to the East Perth & Subiaco Football Clubs. Close - a 5min. walk - to the cafe/restaurant strip on Oxford Street. Cool location, with lots of parking ... make sure you get a Ticket if it's required ... beware the Council Rangers, they'll swoop on you like a magpie !

Positive experience: The kids love going to Helen O'Grady drama classes. The venue is good, with lots places like the library for the parents to wait whilst the kids do their stuff.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this gym - great facilities and friendly staff who genuinely want to help people get fitter and healthier (especially personal trainer Clint). I am also super proud to be a member of a gym with a fantastic inclusion programme for individuals with intellectual disabilities. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this gym.

Fantastic experience: Possibly one of the most underrated fitness facilities in Australia. Fantastic courts and equipment, plus super friendly and professional staff. Plus as a photographer, they have amazing lighting and backgrounds.

Fantastic experience: Great facility. Parking is easy and free(3 hour intervals-remember to grab a ticket). I go there for my daughter's Gymnastics and the events there are great to be in. The cafe has great food at good prices.

Positive experience: Great outdoor area for kids and a good, functional kitchen. But needs a revamp and toilets are a bit run down. Nice and central to city and north of Perth

Fantastic experience: I may be biased because I play basketball on Monday night, but I've never had any dramas at Loftus. Would be good to have the drink fountain back up and running though!

Positive experience: Not enough parking as too many public centres in the same spot with enough parking spaces

Negative experience: Get rid of the filo league the players show absolutely disgusting behaviour, poor sportsmanship and take the game way too seriously. Also the entrance is not very noticeable/friendly

Fantastic experience: Brilliant space with a wide offering of indoor sports for all different skill levels. The staff are super friendly. The equipment and spaces are also really good!

Negative experience: Facilities are great. However if you want to take a deep breath in after a work out you might want to reconsider. One of the trainers i believe is a smoker, this is musked with a fresh dash of cheep perfume ever 30 min and a new peace of chewing gum. If the after smell of smoking isn’t bad enough the blend is potent especially when we are trying to work out or catch our breath back.
