Next Gen Canberra

Positive experience: I’ve been a member of this gym for a while and overall, it’s a good facility with decent equipment and a clean environment. However, I recently had an unpleasant experience with a staff member who was quite rude to me. Unfortunately, this made me feel uncomfortable enough to cancel my membership. It’s disappointing because this used to be my favorite gym, but customer service plays a big role in creating a welcoming atmosphere. I hope they address this issue and continue to improve, as it has the potential to be a great place for fitness enthusiasts.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of Next Gen for over two years now. I love the facilities and the staff. The sauna and steam room are a great way to relax after a workout. There are some very busy times where it is difficult to use the machines that you want to. Overall I highly recommend Next Gen Canberra.

Fantastic experience: Great gym with good facilities, however good gym etiquette isn't being encouraged by the staff, regularly see people not using towels or wiping equipment after not using a towel and weights not being returned after use. Staff just seem to let it slide

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since the early days. It is an excellent gym, with the best equipment and coaches. It is mostly clean. Carpets have been replaced but the paint could be refreshed. The best thing about the place is very friendly and encouraging atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Unexpectedly nice! Really tasty pasta, nice bruschetta, and good grilled chicken. A great option for after workout when you don't want to cook at home

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym!! Awesome staff, brilliant wellness centre, bar, cafe food all great too. A lot of high quality cable machines, treadmills, good free weights area too. Yoga and Body Balance classes are always popular with awesome instructors. I haven't tried the spin classes yet, but keen too... It's got to be one of the cleanest gyms in Canberra too.

Fantastic experience: Great place to keep fit as you age. Not expensive and many classes plus pools.

Fantastic experience: Great facilities and good for families. I can come for dinner (tasty meals plus a little indoor playground for the kids) or they can go to kids club/crèche while I use the gym.

Fantastic experience: I love hanging out at NextGen. The spa and cafe are great motivation for me to swim or take a class. I especially love Angie’s dance class- it brings joy to exercise

Fantastic experience: This is a well kept gym, I've been coming to this one for past 2 years. Each time I've been the gym is spotless, weights are all stacked correctly. Lot of equipments to choose from. The gym is never crowded. And as a squash lover they have squash court plus a swimming pool. The overall layout of the gym is good, and the condition of the equipment is well maintained. The staff are very friendly I would highly recommend this gym to my friends.

I also introduced my wife and she too loves it here. The trainers are brilliant. My trainer Marcus is wonderful and is friendly and helpful. Fantastic experience: NextGen is a state of the art gym. I would like to commend Marcus Leung, fitness instructor and personal trainer. He is a highly skilled, able to instil motivation and personal in his interactions with participants. My fitness has greatly improved since training with him and I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to share my feedback on the aqua aerobics classes that I’ve recently started. After a long period of inactivity due to illness, I began these classes to gently improve my muscle tone and flexibility. One notable observation is the increased difficulty of performing the moves in the water compared to the instructor’s demonstrations. The resistance of water, which is about 12 times greater than air, makes the exercises more challenging. However, this resistance is offset by the supportive nature of the water, which reduces strain on my joints and muscles. This feature makes aqua aerobics particularly beneficial for rehabilitation and for those with joint issues. The exercises are similar to those in traditional aerobics classes—such as star jumps, sideways lunges, and jogging—providing a comprehensive workout. I appreciate how the instructors consistently vary the routines, which keeps the classes engaging and tailored to different fitness levels. The opportunity to work at my own pace while still engaging multiple muscle groups has been a great advantage. Overall, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of aqua aerobics and am grateful for the supportive and dynamic environment your classes provide. Thank you for offering such a valuable fitness option. Fantastic experience: Love this place. It has modern equipment, group classes and an indoor heated pool. I have made some good friends that makes it a social place as well. Staff are always friendly and eager to assist with any Issue I may have. The centre offers tennis, squash, childcare and parking. There is enough on offer to make this your new home away from home or just a gym, whatever suits you.

Positive experience: I have been a member of Next Gen Lyneham for over 6 years. Its a wonderful community, excellent cafe/lounge area and I love all the classes and instructors (special shout out to Morgan, Laura, Simon, and Liz- although all the instructors are excellent)! Highly recommend if you live nearby.

I joined Next Gen for their crèche facilities, has been excellent to drop my little one and do a workout, we then normally get a cool drink at the cafe after and they even have a kids playground in the cafe. Very family friendly gym. Love that the kids can use the pool to and have swimming lessons - all this right in the one place.
