Negative experience: The air con has been not working for more than 6 months, the fans aren’t working atm, you ask the staff and they say they’ve put in maintenance reports and they say no one has been sent. The men’s bathrooms have been renovated but they have air con in the bathrooms but no one knows where the switches are to turn the air con on? What is going on? Its breach of contract to have facilities not working for that long

Negative experience: Good gym good equipment however, how can you run such a big gym in Summer with out no fans or aircons, its beyond a joke… theres no ventilation in there its getting worse and worse as the weather gets hotter. Negative experience: Love the atmosphere a lot of my friends come here to train from 2015 till now. As I’m walking into derrimut (23/11/2024 I overhear staff talking about new generation coming into the gym and being smug about it and rude like they worry too much about other young people around them. I asked if I need to fill in details for casual as I’m already in the system but membership expired. Could’ve confirmed my date of birth address, mobile and emergency contact name, and number as well and pay the 20 dollar fee which should be 10-15 considering the state of the gym. The man at the counter responded bluntly and looked depressed, idk if it’s the cycle his on, change up the juice but don’t be bringing it onto your loyal customers that treat your gym with respect. As he said that he immediately went on break. I choose to ignore his failed attempt at being a genuine human and stopped myself from embarrassing him.

Negative experience: Pros: cheap membership, big space, lots of equipment. Cons: smells like piss, the toilets are always disgusting, no one puts their weights back, no weight clips, machines always out of order, staff who seem disinterested, sweaty equipment because no one brings towels and no one is cleaning. Loud obnoxious music and limited parking. If I had my time again I would not have purchased a membership here.

Negative experience: Thomastown Derrimut needs to step up its maintenance. One of the toilets and a machine in the women's area have been out of order for over two months, which is completely unacceptable. It's frustrating how many machines stay broken for such long periods. Also, please grease the Smith machines in both the women's and main areas—they're so stiff it's nearly impossible to use them. You manage to do useless shit like opening nutrition bars, but can't seem to keep up with basic maintenance or address ongoing issues in the gym. DO BETTER!

Fantastic experience: I love going there. I've even bought their sweaters which are amazing quality and we're very cheap due to the 70% sale. I have only used the ladies section because I feel more comfortable but everyone is very respectful and friendly. I go early mornings or late at night never had an issue with the parking. The pilates classes turned out to be free

Positive experience: The music is way too loud in the female gym area, and I can hear it through my earplugs. I've asked at the front desk to please pop it down a few times, they do listen, but it doesn't sound like it's made a difference. Is that possibly because there's just one volume control for the whole gym?

Negative experience: Worst gym I’ve come across! Be prepared to have an extra payment debited when you cancel membership. Oh and expect zero support from staff when you question it. Reception staff aren’t approachable, very stand off ish. Studio classes and bathroom renovations have been on for approx a year. Car parking spot very tough to find, absolutely atrocious bathroom- barely cleaned during the day.

Negative experience: Injury with medical paperwork still not good enough to temporarily suspend my membership (because I paid upfront annually), renovations that never finish, no free car parking spots when you want them, absolutely atrocious music that put you off. Starting to think these gyms are incredibly overrated and over-hyped

Negative experience: Toilets are absolutely filthy! Almost as if homeless people live in there and purposefully leak on the floor for fun. Also joined with the expectation of $5.5pw and a $90 sign up fee only for them to email a few weeks later saying they're upping the fees more than double with no intention of refunding the sign up fee! Even at $5.5pw this place is not worth the price - "saunas will be ready in 2 weeks" every week, half the machines are broken and there aren't enough plates for all the stations. Avoid like the plague!!

Negative experience: I went to a pilates class recently and the instructor Kristie was extremely rude. She speaks to the class in a very condescending way and when I did one of the moves wrong she yelled at me in front of the whole class. Would never go back.

Negative experience: I booked the 4:30 Reformer Pilates class and arrived at 4:32pm, only to find out that my booking had been cancelled by the staff. When I asked why this happened before the 5-minute grace period was up, I was told that someone from the waitlist had requested my spot, so they gave it away. This completely undermines the purpose of your own policies. If staff can’t follow simple rules, why have them at all? Management seriously needs to get their act together and train staff to be consistent. This kind of treatment is beyond frustrating and unprofessional.

Negative experience: Large range of Gym equipment here, which is great. But the sauna has been out of order since january this year (maybe even last year?) Instead I've been driving to nearest location with a sauna in coolaroo (took me 35 minutes to get there during peak hour last week), which gets very frustrating. Spoken to the staff and few times, who don't seem to care, who will just say "open soon". This would have to be one of the longest renovations in history. Seriously???

Negative experience: Only very recently joined and quite new to going to the gym. That said gym is quite large, well laid out and has alot of equipment which all appear to be in very good condition. Whenever I have been there place is clean and well kept. Entry area looks as though it will either be relocated to another part of building or will undergo renovating at some point. Neither here nor there as it doesn't affect operations or your workout. Mens change rooms are out of action undergoing renovations but I have been told they have been this way for some time. To bad really, it is to my way of thinking the only negative. But, truth be know not a biggy for me. TIME TO AMEND MY REVIEW. Ok. Have just cancelled my membership after about 2 months membership. I joined Derrimut based on a Birthday special offer they were running. 2 months in and I have been advised my membership will increase by more than double!! Now taking into account that I also paid, let's call it an establishment fee of $88, which I was aware of and agreed to, my bargain membership was never really a bargain. Just appears to be an exercise in boosting membership numbers then bump up fees. All up, Derrimut, in my opinion, have not acted in good faith.

Negative experience: The female toilets have smelt absolutely awful for the last few weeks. The maintenance of this place is continuously decreasing. Messy, weights everywhere, broken equipment, renovations that have been going on for months, poor customer service. The vibe is not gonna be enough to keep anyone there very soon.

Negative experience: Ive been to a lot of Derrimuts in vic and this has to be one of the worst. Weights and plates scattered all over the place. An actual tripping hazard. Lady at reception was very unfriendly and didnt look up from her phone as I walked in

Negative experience: Kristie C is by far the worst instructor I’ve ever had. She is incredibly rude and condescending, berating members publicly in class for incorrect form and arriving a few minutes late. I have seen her physically move members aggressively during exercises to adjust their form and make passive aggressive remarks such as "do xyz, like I JUST said", "everyone is doing it correctly but you” and many more. She often gossips and complains about members in front of the entire class, creating an uncomfortable and awkward atmosphere. Just so inappropriate and downright tacky. Many members I've spoken to feel the exact same way. If you lack patience, warmth and a kind attitude, teaching Pilates is not the career for you.
Negative experience: I was 3 mins late to my pilates class and the instructor Carmen gave my place to someone else. I asked her why she gave my place away and she spoke rudely to me through the microphone, publicly embarrassing me. I was only 3 mins late and the spot that I PAID for was taken immediately. I went to reception for a refund and was denied. I’ve cancelled my membership and I’m NEVER going back. As someone who has anxiety going to the gym..this was so disheartening and embarrassing. Also, the toilets are disGUSTting.
Negative experience: December 23 I paid almost $500 for 12 months and told there won’t be any deals for the whole of 2024. There is only 1 polities class which is IMPOSSIBLE to get into and the occasional boxing class maybe every 3 weeks on a Friday night. Half the equipment is OUT OF ORDER nobody answers emails or phones. Receptors not helpful and king ding doesn’t g a f either! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY …TRUST ME

Negative experience: I've been a member of this gym for a while, but over the last 6-7 months, it has become incredibly poorly managed. The place is always dirty, with rubbish and spills being a daily issue. There's no proper organization of equipment, which is often scattered everywhere. There hasn't been any hand sanitizer available for almost two weeks, and at one point, they even ran out of paper towels. The men's toilets have been under renovation for seven months with hardly any progress, almost as if they ran out of money. A large portion of the people who go here lack discipline and respect, leaving weights and equipment where they don't belong. This creates constant obstacles and hazards, and the gym staff do nothing to enforce proper gym etiquette. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements. Until then, it's 2 stars from me. Edit (09.07.2024) Forgot to add they play some of the worst loudest most disruptive music I have ever experienced. I go to the gym for exercise for health benefits/purposes not to go to a night club or a rave. There is really no need for this loud disruptive music, people who want to listen to loud music already have headphones on.
Negative experience: Been under renovation for months upon months. And the gym is always so dirty and messy. Staff? You might as well have no staff.. useless. No customer service. No help. Really disappointing. Embarrassed to be a member here really.

Negative experience: Iva the pilates instructor, has an ego as big as her self. She is unprofessional, and makes you feel very uncomfortable in her class. She will ask if its your first time when she has seen your face multiple times before and it makes you feel insecure in your progress in pilates. She will tell you to listen to your body and go at your own pace and then single you out when you do so
Negative experience: Tiny compared to other Derrimut gyms. Not enough free weights and racks. The men's bathroom has been under reno for about 6 months with no end in sight! Before that the toilets are always blocked and under maintenance. Would be great to use the sauna especially this winter time, but by the way it's going, it'll be finished in summer time and my membership will be finished by then!

Negative experience: Really dirty and messy gym. Weights spread around. No supervision at all. I've seen people "working out" with the wrong/unsafe outfit ( eg. crocs Or uggs) performing exercise in the wrong way which can be harmful. Plus no one uses a towel or cares about wiping the machines after using them,which is absolutely disgusting.

Negative experience: Under renovations- no toilet and too small.
Negative experience: I've been going to this gym for a year now. The prices are cheap because there's zero customer service. When I say zero I mean zero. I tried to use the sauna one morning and it was stone cold and the staff member said "I don't know how to turn it on" and basically walked off. It's really difficult to stay consistent if you want to do the pilates classes because the link they have set up for booking a class doesn't work most of the time and again you get zero help from staff. I've written numerous emails to them about it and the response I get is "it's an American website and we can't access it or help you with it just ring us when you want to book a class" then you can't get through to the phones and classes book out pretty much straight away. The only good thing is the pilates teachers they are amazing but I get up at 5.30am every morning just to try and get into a class and they're usually already booked out by then. The new pilates studio that they advertise still hasn't opened and there's constant works being done inside the gym with no updates. Its really disappointing especially when you try to get support with these issues and are constantly sent in a circle of no outcomes I'll miss my teachers at pilates as they are the best part of that gym

Positive experience: Can never find parking in the evening. Too crowded and numbers of members entering and leaving should be monitored to fix the overcrowding. You wouldn't allow 50 people on a bus with only 30 seats available.

Negative experience: Just signed up to Derrimut a day ago and already have decided I won’t be coming back to Thomastown. I arrived 6:31 for my first ever reformer class. I was quick to book what little availability they had got in the car and drove 25 minutes excited for my class. When I got there I tried to open the doors, there was a sign on the door saying not to be late or the doors would be locked. The music hadn’t even started yet and I received the texted stating my spot was cancelled and I’d be charged a late fee. When I asked the font desk could someone please open the door as I’d come all this way, one minute late, and the girls at the front say they could not open the door as they “did not have the key”. They proceeded to then say that they require you to rock up to class 15 minutes before and it was outlined in the email, not the text. With only 30 minutes to book and get ready and go, I simply did not have time to read the email. I asked if I could please join the next class happy to wait and said they could not fit me in, even if I were to wait for a late arrival. With no hope I left with only “at least you know for next time”. The 15 minute arrival should be clear on the website, along with the rest of the paragraphs of information before booking or on booking, not in just an email but also in a text message. Perhaps the class should start at 7:15 seeing as the schedule is so tight. Not exactly a great first impression let’s hope the other gyms are a little more lenient for human beings who have busy lives.

Fantastic experience: THE BEST, the actual best gym I’ve ever walked into. Jaz and her staff are the best and the reason why this gym is what it is. Almost one year in and never looked back. From the front desk staff, hands down always so lovely and accommodating to the reformer Pilates instructors. I walk through the doors daily and I was so hesitant to start at such a big gym but from the moment I walked in the reception were incredible! From the process of signing up to the daily positivity. Negative experience: I’m a strong believer in empowerment towards women and with how customers are getting treated at this gym is actually disgusting. There is a reason people go to the gym whether it be to better themselves or to get active and the whole point of those working at the gym is to provide SUPPORT, not slander people’s names and have a giggle thinking there will be no repercussions. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. Literally my worst nightmare to ever exist! I’ll stick to anytime fitness at least they treat people with kindness
Negative experience: Your manger and staff member Britney should be fired. How DISGUSTING that your staff can stand there infront of the whole gym (while meant to be working) talking about one of your customers, calling her names and using foul language. For someone to walk into the gym and hear loud and clearly what your workers are saying including this girls FULL NAME is beyond me. This is a place where people are meant to feel comfortable to create the best versions of themselves instead your workers are ruining their self esteem and mental health. This situation is so disgusting, I can not believe these two girls are still employed at your gym. I think you are underestimating how much this can affect someone. I will be making sure this is known EVERYWHERE and that people do not attend your gym.
Fantastic experience: Awesome Reformer Pilates classes particularly Kirstie and Zehra some of the best trainers for Pilates I’ve had! Classes are from beginners to advanced and they cater to all levels! The group work is amazing and all classes are different you don’t know what you will be getting on anyone day. It has helped my health and body to get into shape. If you are not sure ask a question and the trainers are always willing to change or adapt where needed! Fantastic experience: I have been attending Reformer Pilates for the past few months and have to say the instructors are amazing! Kristie is professional, knowledgeable and allows us to make the most out of the 45 min sessions, she cares for her students and makes sure our classes are always leveling up. I’ve also been attending Zehra’s Catherine’s & Carmen’s classes and have always had such a great workout. The classes are always full of high energy and each instructor brings something unique to their classes. Fantastic experience: My daughter and I weekly attend Kirsty’s class. I do every Tuesday and Sunday. I particularly love her classes because of the variety, no class is ever the same, she starts on time to maximise the workout, making us work for 45 minutes, and she follows Derrimut’s policy for safety by making sure people get there on time. Negative experience: I visited Thomastown Derimit Gym today (15th April 9-10pm) and was deeply disturbed by the behavior of one of the male staff members. During my time there, he repeatedly touched the female workers' backsides in full view of everyone. Even after one of the women expressed discomfort, he persisted. This behavior made me and others feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. Such conduct is completely unacceptable and reflects poorly on the gym's management. I strongly urge the management to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure the safety and respect of all patrons. Until then, I cannot recommend this gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to thomastown with my busy business schedule and I’ve had nothing but warm welcomes from front staff every time. Some don’t see this as a key factor but it’s always a highlight personally to start a workout with the right mindset. The gym is equipped with state of the art equipment though the boxing section is my personal go to, then the open area for some plyo work. I’ve noticed that it’s usually clean but I do see other members not respecting the facility occasionally which won’t allow a smooth transition into other areas. Once notified, the staff attend the matter accordingly. Derrimut has either built a good work environment with their staff throughout or they’ve built somewhat of a reputable team in Thomastown derrimut. Keep it up

Negative experience: I had been a member of this gym for over two years, but the behaviour of the staff at this gym has made me feel like I am back in high school instead of attending the gym as a means of self improvement and development. I have always been anxious in attending the gym, especially due to weight issues and prior surgery, myself and others deserve a place to work on ourselves without fear of judgement and bullying, however… My partner attended this gym in the afternoon to purchase a casual membership and witnessed 3 staff members speaking badly about PAYING customers by name- myself included. Now granted there is personal history involved in this situation that occurred, discussions like these should not be aired in a public foyer as you never know what will come back to the other person. It is completely inappropriate and appalling behaviour, I have learnt from my past mistakes and aim to better myself, I hope these people can too.
Negative experience: Don’t go to Thomastown unless you want to be bullied and spoken badly about at the front desk loud enough for everyone to hear. Extremely unprofessional and poor behavior from the staff and probably won’t be returning to this branch
Negative experience: I want to say that the level of professionalism from the front of house staff in particular Brittany and Jas is absolutely appalling and a high form of bullying. Speaking disgustingly about a current gym member in-front of people to hear is disgusting and neither of these children and yes, I say children because who as a grown adult speaks and bullies someone at their job about someone they know personally and knows that this certain person is a member of the gym, should work here. I am also struggling to report this to the Thomastown location itself as one of the staff who was doing this is one of the managers - Jas. Negative experience: Cancelling membership seems impossible and looks like these payments will come out of your account for rest of your life. Went to the gym to cancel the membership and they said they only cancel over the phone. Called to cancel they asked to call the gym location I signed up in the first place. Called the location I signed up in and they can’t cancel over the phone and I need to go there !!!went there and canceled and they informed me 2 more payments will be deducted from my account and that’s it! 3 months passes and I realised they still deducting the money from my account. Called them to ask why and they said it never cancelled and I have to go to the gym and cancel it IS IT A JOKE OR WHAT?!!Canceling a gym membership doesn’t have to be this hard!

Negative experience: Toilet was dirty, there was no lifting platform for weightlifting or powerlifting, some of the patrons were rude and aggressive. I was just politely telling a guy who i agreed to share the squat rack with to just be aware and not stand close, as I'm doing the oly lifts and if i have to bail he could get hurt, and he proceeded to yell at me and force me to move from where i was at originally, or else he's gonna report me or whatever, it was at the point where i thought he was gonna get physical, so i just moved because it wasn't worth it. It's close to uni and so i thought i could head by after school, but no chance, not again.

Fantastic experience: I’ve tried multiple derrimut gym locations but thomastown by far is the best, the staff members are absolutely fantastic mainly love talking to Britney every single morning she greets everyone with a beautiful smile, she has such a beautiful energy in the morning, her Dj skills are on point that just sets you off to having a good lifting session and I’ve seen her talk with other clients too, she is very professional and helps big time with knowing every information we need about our gym membership and costs and how to get the best deal personally she helped me big time, she is very alert too doesn’t let no one enter the gym using someone else’s gym card and I was there when it happened ❤️

Fantastic experience: Love Derrimut have been training on and off here for the last 10 years and its always changing and getting better! I didnt think it could get any better when reformer was included in all memberships but now the fact they are getting plunge pools, a basketball court ect soon is incredible! Negative experience: There is clearly a management issue with this location of derrimut and it needs to be fixed. 1)poorly enforced work boots policy, some staff care some don’t. Management needs to make sure policies are enforced uniformly. Too many times I have walk around mud all over the gym floor. 2)Never any tissues or anti-bacterial to wipe hands and equipments. Some of these tissues holder are broken and tissues are just left on the floor. Management does not seem be interested in fixing this issue as it has been around months. How hard is to COMMUNICATE to maintenance to fix a couple of new tissue holders? 3)men’s toilets are always a terrible mess, they don’t have any action plan in place to make sure patrons look after the facilities, nor do they have an action plan to block off toilets that require attention they just leave it to patrons to decide if it’s safe to use. In the past I have witnessed the same urine stains few days in a row… I have stopped using their bathrooms altogether because lack of attention. It’s would be very easy to blame a lack of stewardship from the community, but really it’s the job of management to enforce policies that help prevent misuse and have timely attention to biohazards in place . 4)lack of communication and customer service skills from upper management. Staff on the whole here are friendly, but it is clear from my own experience, experience of friends and other reviews that management is not friendly and not interested in communicating with patrons, which is a significant problem during this turbulent period caused by the renovation. For example by patrons particularly highlight this point about not being consulted on changes with the group classes…. I have never seen during this period any member of staff approaching actively asking patrons their recent experiences. Management doesn’t seem to care enough to hear if patrons are inconvenienced. 5. Pin section is now a shambles. None of the most important pin machines have been replaced; an increased number of calf machines and abdominal machines have taken the place of key leg extension/curl machines, chest machines and back machines. No communication from management about whether if more are on the way, but these machines nonetheless should have not been taken out until they were replaced. Clearly, a management issue.

An increase of cleaning staff presence has been recently implemented under our new management team. Implementing new strategies to further improve operations is executed in stages and we are working as efficiently as we can to address issues. Our men’s bathroom has been closed off and is currently undergoing an upgrade, addressing any plumbing and hygiene issues you may have encountered. We have replaced previous equipment with brand new versions and installed additional equipment throughout the pin and plate loaded sections. Our machines have been aligned in a layout that groups together upper and lower body equipment. Essential equipment including various back rows, leg presses, chest presses and cable stations have been assembled and added to our gym floor. As we move forward as a business we place emphasise on adaptability and overcoming challenges. Negative experience: The place been under renovation for weeks if not months and it still looks like a construction site ... There is no space to even do stretch and proper workout. I am so sick of apologising to movers or pilates instructor cause I am in the way of their classes or work to move machine around. It's a total waste of our money for membership. What's the point of paying a gym under renovation that can't be used properly. The toilet has been demolish and there is no sign of a temporary one, and to be honest the staff doesn't look too friendly to even asked. Looks like a bunch of girls from "mean girls" movie instead of friendly people that greets you as you come in. Only other reason I can think of is that the owner/company are financially incapable to shut the place down and do the renovation all at once.

Negative experience: I travelled 30 mins out of my way to derrimut only to be told I was not allowed to wear work boots inside however watched someone finish there work out wearing steel caps. Double standards are unbelievable this is why everyone thinks thomastown is a joke!

Negative experience: I originally joined Derrimut for the group fitness classes and they have kept me coming back. To say I’m disappointed that group fitness is being cancelled is a huge understatement. The lack of communication and consultation with the members and instructors is disrespectful. Why can’t you just say it is being cancelled? To say that it is being paused until further notice is a cop out. This is the same thing you did at Airport West 9 months ago. Management will say that they empathise but they really don’t. What are my options given that Coolaroo is ladies only? Drive across town to Airport West? Oh wait, they cancelled group fitness there too! Group fitness is going because they want a posing room, a second Pilates room, plunge pools and a basketball court. The posing room caters for all the influencers who come to the gym for 10 minutes, take some photos and leave. The plunge pools are going to be a huge hygiene issue, I won’t be having a plunge in the water infused with sweat, urine, dead skin cells and bodily fluids of other people. The basketball court is so small and the ceiling is so low that it is pointless. The biggest driver behind group fitness is going is money. The second Pilates room gives them just that. I’d be very interested to see how much money they make from cancellations and no shows. It must be good enough to turf group fitness which has an incredibly strong following which has been cultivated over many years by the dedicated instructors. Don’t get me started about the toilets which are somehow more disgusting than Flinders Street Station toilets. Always smells like excrement and mould. That’s an incredible achievement. I would leave a zero star review if Google would allow.

Negative experience: I'm so upset and disappointed hearing that pump classes, spin, zumba & body combat will no longer be running at thomastown gym anymore. I was originally excited with the renovation as the instagram posted a video saying group fitness room will have new floorings but I feel they have lied to us and it's all about making profit. They don't think about the members who signed up for the membership as we have built a great community and they are just taking this away without giving us any notice. I had to find out from our instructor that this is the last week they are running the classes in the group fitness room and turning our group fitness room to the second pilates/posing room. it's just ridiculous that they choose to have a posing room over group fitness room as they want free media advertisment. I only joined the membership as the gym offered a variety of group classes but now that the have removed group fitness room classes I'm limited to boot camp and boxing only. I know management will say we can access other derrimut gym for the group fitness classes but it's not convenient for some of us if I live 2 mins away from the thomastown gym. I actually signed up with this membership purely because of group classes and I need a range of classes. So I really hope management will reconsider the decision and not be a liar about giving group fitness new floorings, not about making profit from reformer pilates hoping people won't turn up to classes to charge them extra fees and posing room for free advertisment.

Negative experience: I used to love this gym, the price, the convenience and the classes. This week has been a shock to me, upping the membership price by almost DOUBLE (I paid $249 last year, now it's $449) AND cutting all classes without even warning members or explaining the rationale. Thomastown members are now paying more for less, which is ridiculous. I checked with other locations and they had no idea about the change of direction to cut classes - why is it only Thomastown that are missing out? If it's a future direction of the company it should be clearly explained to the members and allow for contract changes for those who signed up purely on the basis that they will be able to do group training. Coolaroo is NOT an option for many who live around the Thomastown location; I've been reading the other reviews here and am apalled by the lack of empathy, clarity or explanation by the Derrimut team. Truly disappointing experience.

Negative experience: I cannot find the words to express my disappointment and disgust with the way derrimut management has dealt with the cancellation of group fitness classes. I, along with many others have taken a membership here solely due to the solace and community the group fitness classes provide. The lack of empathy and utter disregard toward the wellbeing of instructors and members who do group fitness is very evident in the way management revealed this change, by giving just a week to the instructors and members to ‘deal with’ this change. This lack in judgement will be an indefinite stain, with derrimut losing many loyal members.

Negative experience: I’m very annoyed at the fact that you are stopping the Zumba fitness classes at the Thomastown location. Me and a few of my friends took membership only for the Zumba classes. We really enjoyed them and looked forward for the next class every day as this kept us going and feeling physically fit. Please please please do NOT stop the Zumba classes. If the Zumba room is not available, please provide us another spot at Derrimut to continue our Zumba classes.

Negative experience: Derrimut, why are you such a letdown? Always think of renovation and don't think of the people who go to your gym. Is there a legitimate answer to why group fitness classes are being written off? The Zumba and other classes have built a community and now you have left us no choice but to stop supporting your gym. Giving one week's notice and not informing the instructors is very unprofessional. Mental health is not the priority here.

Negative experience: I was about to renew my membership, but changed my mind and will not renew as I have been told there will be no longer group fitness classes anymore. I only enjoyed coming casually to the fitness classes and due to the changes, they have lost me as a customer.

Negative experience: What a letdown! We joined this gym because it offered a lot especially group classes like Zumba and Body Combat. To my surprise they canceled all group fitness classes with only 1 week notice. Had to find out from my instructor. AND THIS HAPPENED 2 months after I joined. Feels like a scam.

Negative experience: This is absolutely not right! Many of us signed up the membership only for Zumba classes. Now the group fitness classes are all canceled. At first I was very happy seeing all the gym equipments were moving out from the Gym room and the place looked so amazing and spacious. Then last weekend I heard the bad news. I hope the Derrimut Management will reconsider not to cancel all the group fitness and Zumba classes. Please think of the member’s well being and mental health. I just checked with the front desk staff that Derrimut Gym is not going to refund our memberships.

Negative experience: I’m really outraged and pissed off with this Derrimut! I’m a regular who’s been coming for Zumba and body pump and they are cancelling the classes for ever to build a posing room which Is ridiculous! People can pose in their own time before or after the classes! Why throw away lots customers of customers and ruin a community and ruin the diversity! I use to love this gym now I hate it because of their stupidity.

Negative experience: They removed all group fitness classes! These classes are packed and booked! What a shame! I don’t understand the business strategy behind removing the classes!! You will be losing more members for sure! Despite the ugly parking situation and dirty toilets, we still come and do the classes regularly! Our membership is because of these classes! So sad!!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would! Saying “go to collaroo” is completely unacceptable, as it is not suitable for all members who partake in group fitness to travel the extra distance, and what about the men who have been enjoying classes? I believe they cannot attend pump or Zumba etc at Coolaroo? Like many others, I joined this gym due to its proximity to my home and the Amazing Zumba instructor Mel and pump instructor Andrea. It is INSULTING to cancel classes without actually notifying members (I found out 3rd hand) and then give excuses for your blatant disregard for regular members reasons for joining and the impact these changes could have on their mental and physical health. To cancel all Les Mills group fitness for good at one weeks notice and instead have a second reformer Pilates studio installed seems unnecessary and unfair. It’s really a shame as I was becoming a loyal Derrimut 24/7 fan, but will not be renewing my membership with this business.

Negative experience: Very little care for their group fitness members. Upper management has not even come forth and told members. They let pts tell their students with less than 1 weeks notice. Not even a post on social media about it and the website still reflects false information. The only contribution to letting people know has been removing the list from the room. Poor effort. Advising people that they can go to another gym to do group fitness is not okay. You also are advising to go to a place without a pilaties studio, can you confirm that they will not be getting upgrades and moving us again. Group fitness is always full with over 20 people at all times and yet they have cancelled the classes. Distance, travel and parking are worse on other locations with an attempted robbery happening recently at the gym you're advising to attend for group fitness. You have not been advising people who sign up that group fitness will not be continuing and you have been refusing refunds for those who signed up under false advertising !! You've made no effort towards supporting pts or your members. It is very clear the removal of the group fitness class is to ensure you keep the 'new direction' of having a 'pretty gym.' There is no reason why classes could not of ran on the gym floor or basketball courts which further showcases the lack of members and contracting pts.

Negative experience: Place is a Mess, male toilets have been out of order for 4 weeks by now and this is the conditions of the disabled toilet around 200 male members have to use. Equipment is good but is always broken, dumbells and handles always go missing.

Negative experience: Don’t get me wrong I love derrimut gym but Thomastown has to be the worst location I’ve been to I live close to it but I’d rather drive further and save myself the frustration of being here, always handles and pins for cables missing or machines broken, I’ve been saying this for years I haven’t been here for months and I remember why now
