Fitness Cartel Health Clubs Aspley - 24/7 Gym

Negative experience: Predators run this place. I've been charged for 2 months after signing up, even though I was promised free sign up and 4 weeks free membership. After attempting to to cancel during the cooling off period I was then harassed and charged me for "ad-hoc" sessions of almost $120. I've contacted the ACCC I hope this place gets shut down. Absolutely garbage and toxic management.

Negative experience: Be transparent and clear on your contracts so people doesn't have to leave you 1 start reviews every time they have to cancel.

Fantastic experience: Easy sign up process , world class facilities , by far the best gym I’ve ever seen.

Positive experience: After coming from Virginia gym where I had countless issues with the creche and the management just not caring , Aspley was way better . The ladies in creche where brilliant , I actually trusted them too take care of my kids and not have any incidents . The classes however , one class in the morning at 5am , or one class at 5pm don't align with stay at home mums , so figure that out , cause your losing customers . The dance class was a win for me ! So thank you to Cassie.

Negative experience: That’s got be the worst experience I’ve ever had with a gym, EVER! I had an issue with my FIRST payment, I had no funds in that specific day of charge! And when I went back to pay for it, they wanted to charge me a ridiculous 25% fee on top of what I had already to pay! When I confronted her (a blond girl, don’t remember her name) saying that this wasn’t fair, she said: “this is not my problem, it’s your problem”. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! I didn’t agree to pay for the excess for two reasons: 1- I haven’t even used any of the services that they offer! I haven’t even been to the gym for a matter of fact! 2- It hasn’t even been a week, literally, that I have signed up. So, I told the lady at the counter that I was very unsatisfied with the experience and that I wanted to cancel the membership. Let’s remember, I haven’t even been to gym, that’s happening within less than 7 days of signing up! She told that the cancelation was $250!!!! For what? For not using your services! I just think that’s inhumane! Just because it’s on the contract, it doesn’t mean that people should or could rip you off! I’ll not be ripped off! I’ll contact my lawyers if necessary!

Fantastic experience: Amazing personal trainers always giving me advice!! Also really welcoming people and amazing culture here!! Plenty of variety for equipment as well so even in peak hours I can still train! Love it here!

Negative experience: It is a nice gym as its new and has lots of machines, though it does get very busy and may have to wait a little. Bathrooms can get a bit smelly and sauna is nice. The reason I gave a one star is that the communication is really terrible. I had no communication that the fees were going up (I joined as foundation member, prices were never meant to go up). I only noticed through my bank account that the fees were more and I questioned them and it took a couple of days for a reply. However if you miss a payment, you get hounded with phone calls. Just really bad communication. Also annoying about the fees going up when I was originally told as a foundation member, it would be that price for life. 1 star.

Negative experience: I've been coming to this club for years. I've spent thousands of dollars on clothes and supplements here, I've recommended countless people to sign up at this gym even after they put the price up due to "cost of living" and still charged us when the club was closed for a month. Now today because I'm between jobs and my acc is overdrawn more then $50 jaqueline wouldn't let me in and was very rude. It's no wonder alot of people are leaving for world gym

Negative experience: Not only have a never gone to this gym or ever called them (I literally don’t use any gym) for the last year I have been trying to get off their mailing list as they keep sending me spam adverts to my phone. And yes I tried messaging and calling the number responsible for the constant spamming ads about some “cartel” (why you would think that’s an appropriate name for a cold call advert I have no idea) but nothing worked. So after a year I finally decided to google this joint and call them directly. I spoke to someone named Felix or pheonix, he was nice enough, although was pretty cocky and completely unapologetic, even telling me that I must have called them before to inquire about a member ship (which I can assure you I’ve never even thought about it ). And then top off the lack of understanding and undermining, he hung the phone up on me before I could even say goodbye. He just assumed I was done speaking and cut me off. Pretty unprofessional and very poor treatment of the general public especially when I am trying to fix YOUR mistake. I would have called back to chew him out for the disrespectful behaviour but as I also work in customer service, I understand this feedback would be better read by a manager and there’s no real need to be hostile to frontline workers. But it really get under my nerves considering I’ve put up with your unwanted adverts for a year and he couldn’t even handle a conversation for 1 minute

Negative experience: Please don’t sign up to this gym if you’re thinking of cancelling within 12 months. You will be charged $250 aswell as 5 weeks worth of membership fees. I was promised that I wouldn’t be charged after the $250 as I enquired to cancel months before but here I am still paying these membership fees and no benefits. The team don’t care about their customers at all! One team member says one thing and the other team member says something completely different you can’t trust anything they say. Completely and utterly disappointed with this team, I’ve wasted many hours on the phone trying to get this situation sorted with no outcome.

Negative experience: Read the other one star reviews below about this gym. Do not join this gym if you wish to cancel your membership as it takes months of delays with false promises. I’m disgusted with their attitude and processes. I will never recommend this gym to anyone. Be warned before you sign up that the cancellation fee is $250 and then you have to pay an additional 30 days of membership fees. It is unheard of in the industry. Be warned

Fantastic experience: HAD A AWESOME TOUR WITH A GREAT SWEET KIND SPIRITED TOUR GUIDE KIRSTY WHO DID AN AMAZING JOB SHOWING ME AROUND. STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HAPPY GO LUCKY. THE FACILITY EQUIPMENTS AND ATMOSPHERE JUST BRILLIANT REALLY ENJOYED MY SECOND DAY THERE TRAINING THEY HAD EQUIPMENTS FOR BODYBUILDING, CALISTHENICS, CROSSFIT, RUNNERS,CYCLING,COMBAT FIGHTER'S, MOBILITY AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE DANCING IN THE SAUNA LOL WASN'T A MEMBER BUT THEY ADDED MY MENTION OF THEM TO THEIR INSTAGRAM STORIES WHICH MADE MY NEPHEW AND NIECE WHO ARE MEMBERS OF ASPLEY FC REALLY HAPPY FOR ME. THANK YOU FITNESS CARTEL ASPLEY FOR THE AWESOME EXPERIENCE WILL COME AGAIN WHEN I FLY AGAIN TO BRISBANE RESPECT

Negative experience: Very bad mambership staff service, they don't listen and do according to their own self, I changed my membership duration as i new to join and I just join 1 week ago as free session I upgraded to 1 year to gym as im student they give me discount, but they still cut pervious amount very bad services I ever seen.

Negative experience: DO NOT SIGN UP with Fitness Cartel. I was sold a foundation membership before the Aspley gym opened with the promise of a ‘locked in for a lifetime’ rate. The gym owner has recently increased all foundation members’ rates by 30% with 2 weeks notice. He refuses to honour the original contract. The poor staff have been left to deal with hundreds of disgruntled members. I am leaving, along with other family members. I am disgusted by his dishonesty!

Negative experience: Signed up when Aspley opened on a founder membership. I used to love this gym but as the years go on, incompetent staff, conflicting information and ridiculous membership fees. Instead of informing me in a professional manner, I get junk email from the direct debit company stating due to ‘cost of living’ they’re increasing my payment. Friends wanted to sign up and have been charged extra payments with no proper explanation, as well as different quotes for membership/ starter fees. No one’s on the same page and don’t even know what they’re doing half the time.

Negative experience: When I first came here, the sign up process was easy, so easy they didn’t tell me I was signing up for a 12 month commitment. They also mentioned I’d get the first month free and I never got that. After one week they charged $250 for no reason, and I asked to get a refund but they never responded. The use of the gym was ok, I didn’t use it often but when I did, the people weren’t that nice and the toilets were gross Like most places the cancellation process has been an absolute hassle, no communication, no responses to emails, I’ve tried calling and getting them to push the cancellation through but no confirmation email has come through in over 2 weeks. This place is useless. The staff aren’t nice, they force you to leave a 5 star review when you sign up (I wonder why). The communication is horrible, the gyms ok, has most machines but it’s no world gym. Waste of money Terrible professionalism Do not recommend

I ended up signing up at Planet Fitness Chermside for a MUCH cheaper rate and get so much more - weekly spray tans, red light therapy, massage chairs. The equipment is great, I don't feel like I am missing anything (I especially don't miss the misleading business practices from Fitness Cartel). "Gym Membership Scam: Supercars and Super Lies" As a fitness enthusiast, I've always believed in the sanctity of a gym – a place where sweat, dedication, and hard work intertwine to sculpt bodies and minds. That was until I encountered Fitness Cartel, a supposed haven for health and fitness that quickly revealed its true colors: a den of greed and deception. Initially lured in by promises of a lifetime membership at the reasonable rate of $13.95, I was sold on the idea of investing in my health without breaking the bank. Little did I know, I was being reeled into a scheme orchestrated by an owner who prioritises lining his pockets over fostering a community of wellness. Imagine my shock when I received notification of a 30% increase in membership fees, justified by the clichéd excuse of "cost of living." While I understand that operational costs may fluctuate, such a drastic hike is nothing short of exploitation, especially considering the original promise of a fixed rate for a lifetime. Your health and your wallet deserve better than to be preyed upon by those who prioritise profit over people and do not honour written and verbal contracts.

We took a risk signing up to this gym before it opened as I was promised a lower rate that would be locked in for the life of the membership. Only 2 years later they increase the founders rate by 30% with 4 weeks notice due to "cost of living". All this while the owner flaunts his collection of super cars on social media.

Negative experience: TLDR. Very disappointed with my experience here. My partner and I dropped in to check out the gym several weeks ago and at the time there were no consultants around but a really nice PT was there who showed us around. I was keen to get info on prices and asked if someone could contact me via email with the info. I never received an email but did have a few missed calls, no messages, from what I now know is Fitness Cartel Aspley. Two weeks ago I got another call and was available to answer. I believe it was Karl that I spoke to who asked me what I was interested in. I said I had asked for someone to send me the range of membership prices so I could see what worked with my budget etc. He continued to ask me whether I was interested in pilates or gym or classes and I reiterated that it depended on the prices and if he can send me that info then I can see what I can afford based on that. No word of a lie, his response was ‘so you’re asking me to send you a ridiculous amount of information…’ at which point I interrupted him to ask why what I was asking for was a ridiculous amount of information. He tried to back track and ask me again what I wanted from the membership and once again I just asked if he could send me all the prices and I could work it out. He agreed and hung up. Surprise surprise, I never received the info. A week later I called up and asked if I could speak to someone other than Karl and the girl on reception asked if I wanted to give some feedback. I said that I had spoken to Karl and found him to be a bit rude but was still really keen to join the gym despite that if someone else could call me back. She said someone would be in in the next 15 minutes and would call me back. That was over a week ago and I’m yet to hear back. Meanwhile, my partner, has had about 10 missed calls (no voicemails again), none of which he’s been able to answer because he’s a nightshift worker and asleep when they call. Not sure what the marketing strategy is here but it’s pretty ineffective and very disappointing.

I wanted to change something with my membership, one lovely woman helped me out gave me the peace of mind I needed. The gyms general atmosphere is amazing and I feel welcome every time I step in and my PT has shown that he wants to help me out as much as humanly possible
