Fantastic experience: The esteemed Brighton Baths located at 251 Esplanade, Brighton is many things - Historic, iconic and even - evocative to name a few. Opened in 1936, it's a deco brick marvel of architecture. Providing the unique possibility to safely swim 50 metre laps or splash around - the water is caged to keep out any debris or unwanted sea creatures. It's a beautiful place. The private beach provides solace and for those more active, an indoor and outdoor gym, steamroom and fitness classes are all available. Entrance to the sea baths it $10.00 - Chlorine free too! - There is nothing better than the feeling of a fresh sea dip or swim, it's great value and the adjoining cafe next door is a great place to recover with coffee in hand. - Hamish John Appleby // APPLEBY PHOTOGRAPHY

Negative experience: Absolutely rude reception I am pregnant and just having a foot surgery , would not even let me use their bathroom to pee. If people wants to enable this culture good on them.

Fantastic experience: Pretty good, private beach for $10pp
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Thomas. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our private beach access. We hope to see you again soon at Brighton Baths Health Club!
Negative experience: I did not expect much, but I certainly did not expect was a latte served in a cup with burnt coffee and milk too warm but not frothed at all. Avoid the coffee here at all costs.
The Baths Middle Brighton is a multifaceted business, your review has been shared on the Health Club's business profile and not the Downstairs Dining next door. We would like to encourage you to share your review on their page to ensure that your voice is heard and your feedback is taken into consideration immediately. If you have any question regarding the above, please don't hesitate to reach out or simply pop by view our facility!
Negative experience: $40 to use the steam room and have a swim! Beyond crazy. Cost of living/ price gourging. Public pools are $15 for both! This has no upkeep of a pool as it is an ocean. (AN OCEAN) Lost the Heart it once had
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Manning. We appreciate hearing from you. We understand your concern regarding our pricing, and we apologise if it didn't meet your expectations. Our team works hard to provide a well-maintained facility, including the steam room, which requires regular maintenance and operational costs. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
Fantastic experience: Very welcoming staff great food

Negative experience: Terrible. Ordered brunch, my partner is celiac and they brought out hash browns with the order. Took 40 minutes for the food to initially come out and a further 20 for them to correct the order. Ordered a juice as well, been an hour - asked 3 people to follow up, still waiting. Poor food and management. Wouldn’t come back.
Positive experience: Non member swim price $8. For open water with just an enclosure but no life guard supervision pool is a rip-off. Changing room facilities are good.
Fantastic experience: We Had dinner here I had the barramundi which was delicious and great service and the food was great
Positive experience: Had a late breakfast on 25/10. Quite a pleasant experience. Eggs were poached perfectly, sour dough bread was brilliant and the bacon and smashed avo was a great accompaniment. Will definitely come back.
Negative experience: I ordered a Caesar Salad and asked for no anchovies but guess what it came with anchovies. I asked if they could make one without the anchovies and they said no. My friend ordered the burger with no pickles and you wouldn’t believe it this also came with pickles. Is it so hard to get this right considering you need to order and pay via the app upfront. The aren’t very friendly. This place is definitely one to avoid.
Fantastic experience: Afrer a great swim there is a steam room to enjoy. There is a shower and locker to usenwhen you finish. The staff is great and super helpful. Great swimming community. The enclosure is really good if the weather/water conditions are not so great as it gives you a sense of security and an easy to get in and out options through the multiple stairs rather then through the sand. The Cafe is also good next door.
Fantastic experience: If you can brave the cold water, this is probably one of the nicest places to swim, that I've ever been. It's both a really beautiful place, surrounded by Port Phillip Bay and surrounded by cafes that are perfect for a post swim coffee.
Fantastic experience: Great location fantastic view of the beach and city. Nice service and lovely food
Fantastic experience: Fabulous location!
Negative experience: Water is filled with floating seaweed and rocks. So you pay $6 for a dirty beach... no thanks.
Fantastic experience: The Brighton baths offer more than just a “normal” gym experience, it’s so much more! One of my favourite experiences there is doing yoga to the sound of the waves and as the sun rises, it’s so much better for the soul. I also feel enjoy using the gym equipment and looking out to the views. The community feel is brilliant and I highly recommend the Brighton Baths
Positive experience: Steam room is only 35 degrees so barely enough to get warm, and it's very expensive at $38 for a day pass.
Fantastic experience: never been
Positive experience: Took the grandkids recently. Food was good. Coffee not too bad. Very relaxing and views amazing. Service friendly.
Fantastic experience: BBHC is unique and very welcoming. It's the ideal place to train the body and mind.
Positive experience: Positive: Professionalism
Fantastic experience: The bad review is for the restaurant not the gym
Fantastic experience: Lovely place! Great, friendly team and special location.
Positive experience: Not a bad spot for some drone photography. You have the pier and then the enclosed baths as good subjects to Photograph. It's also not a bad spot for sunrise photography. When your out on the pier you can get some great views of the city skyline. Looks great at night too. You are also just up the road from the Brighton Beach boxes
Fantastic experience: I love EVERYTHING about Brighton Baths. Staff are exceptional and the location and facilities speak for themselves. Rachel and the team have gone above and beyond for my family. A true gem.
Negative experience: $5 for a swim sounded cheap until I was told there is an $8 minimum if paying with EFTPOS. That’s a ripoff.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and magnificent views.
Negative experience: This was one of my favorite Melbourne venues. However the last two times have been really average. I last went there today. The table beside us left as their food hadn't arrived. Ours food arrived within a reasonable timeframe, however the hot drink we ordered before the meal arrived after we had started eating and the food itself was average. We ordered some sides to go with our mains - the chips were bland, cold and unseasoned. The asparagus was over cooked and the cheese wasn't fresh. It was like they had been cooked and sitting for ages before served. The staff were unable to advise what was gluten free on the menu, it would be great if the menus were updated with dietary labelling.
Negative experience: Brighton baths fir a coffee after our walk. What a joke... coffee in a cup which was not made properly your finger went thru the bottom of the cup... hit coffee everywhere. Went and told the girl. She said. Oh yeah we had a bad batch of those cups. They are all finished now!!!!!! Whoever is running that coffee area shouldn’t be in hospitality.. we had chips and calamari and potatoe cakes. No serviette was given no potatoe cakes. Expensive for chips. We saw the chef come out from the kitchen!!!!!! I am sorry I am a chef myself... if one of my staff turned up like that!!! Pity I saw him after we had lunch... I will not be eating there again.. not that they care less. Too busy talking to their friends than serving customers...
Fantastic experience: Always a good day when I go to the brighton Baths
Fantastic experience: Best place in Port Philip Bay for a Swim, Paddleboard, Workout & Steam Room!! Go See them and spend a day at the Baths!! A++++
Fantastic experience: Our family heads to the BBHC as often as we can. It’s a super location with first class facilities and fantastic staff. Highly recommended!!!
Fantastic experience: Just great for a swim
Positive experience: Good food and service.
Positive experience: Very nice coffee and a cool gym. The day pass is just expensive at 38$ but you can get a swim pass for 5$ which is pretty cool. Really refreshing to go for a swim there and nice people! :) great view too
Fantastic experience: Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and magnificent views.
Positive experience: Nice place
Fantastic experience: We were down at the Brighton Baths Health Club last weekend. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, venue was really clean, overall we had the best day and cannot wait to come back. On top of that they even have SUP boards and kayaks for hire. This is where we will be all summer.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place! Friendly staff, great facilities and a very unique location on the water..nothing like it
Fantastic experience: Brighton Baths. Great location and a beautiful, grand old building.
Negative experience: Booked two kayaks for two hours on a sunny day with barely any wind (14km/hr) and we had to go inside, in the closed off area which is tiny. Apparently there was too much current even though a member was paddle boarding outside and when I asked the girl at front desk why we couldn't go she didn't really know what to tell me and didn't really care, which is pretty annoying considering we travelled a hour and paid $70. Any other kayak hire is much better.
Negative experience: Went to hire a stand up paddle board there. I called the day before told no need to book and family can come watch. Called on the day, told I need to book and there was a time available however they charge 10$ over the phone payment. Getting there for my booking I was told I can only paddle in their little jail bay cause after 6 it's close off time. Also it's 5$ for everyone who comes in. Just annoyed the charge is the same rate all day even when customers are restricted to their jail. Also unhappy with product knowledge provided.. like they didn't even know the parking fees next to their shop.
Hi Laura,We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The reason we don't allow SUPs and Kayaks to go out of the Baths around that time is because that is the time the weather starts to change, with Melbourne's weather currently it's been like this the past month, it's where the wind can easily become unpredictable. We would like to offer you two complimentary day passes to use our facility.
Positive experience: Very nice coffee and a cool gym. The day pass is just expensive at 38$ but you can get a swim pass for 5$ which is pretty cool. Really refreshing to go for a swim there and nice people! :) great view too
Fantastic experience: Fantastic spot. We certainly will make this much more regular. Thank you kindly to the staff.
Positive experience: Great place for lunch with the mums group
Fantastic experience: Lovely
Fantastic experience: Food was very tasty and a great view. Would recommend this place
Positive experience: I only went to the cafe. Good coffee, snacks, entrees and mains, as well as specials. They cater for vegetarians. There is also a bar there. Good views of the beach if you sit next to the window.
Positive experience: Average
Fantastic experience: Food was very tasty and a great view. Would recommend this place
Positive experience: Beautiful sea baths.
Fantastic experience: It's experiences such as the one i had at the Brighton Baths that truly make me appreciate this city. My friend and i took advantage of the kayaks at the Baths for a day, we were accommodated by their lovely staff who were nothing but friendly, giving helpful tips and location suggestions for the ultimate view of the city. Our day on the water was complimented by a quick swim and a long steam room session, it was honestly the best way to spend the day off. If you have not yet experienced the vibrant health club i would recommend not to hesitate, spend the day utilizing their facilities and being surrounded by lovely like minded people who appreciate health and fitness.
