Our comment from FitFit Australia about Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre:
Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre, located in Glen Waverley, Australia, offers a comprehensive range of facilities that cater to families and individuals alike. Visitors praise the wave pool, which is a highlight for many children and provides a fantastic experience on hot days.
Users appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, especially during organized events such as birthday parties which received positive feedback for their organization and engagement with attendees.
However, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the customer service, citing experiences of rudeness and lack of professionalism from certain staff members. The management has been criticized for poor communication regarding class schedules and pool availability, leading to frustration for families attempting to use the facilities.
The centre boasts a variety of pools, including indoor and outdoor options suited for various age groups and swimming styles, but reports of overcrowding, particularly in the steam and sauna rooms, have dampened the experience for some users. Additionally, there have been calls for better management of pool capacity and the need for improvements in changing room facilities.
Overall, while Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre is noted for its excellent range of facilities and community involvement, greater attention to customer service and facility maintenance would enhance the overall experience for visitors.

Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre: Opinions
Fantastic experience: The swimming pool is spacious, with both outdoor and indoor areas. There is also an artificial beach. Definitely worth visiting.
Fantastic experience: Funniest
Negative experience: The 25m pool is soooo dirty
Negative experience: As a regular customer, I would like to respectfully ask that your management do something about that lady lifeguard or towel police who checks on everyone in the steam or sauna room. She needs to be reminded on how to properly communicate to adults instead of treating them like she works in a state penitentiary. I just couldn't stand watching how she humiliated the elderly patrons simply for not having a towel. I'm sure they will be willing to follow your policy if it was communicated properly. I won't be surprised if you've already received a number of complaints about this.
Positive experience: Good experience with the wavy pool. Kids have shallow pools to play in. Showering is not so good. Shower heads are lined closely and no separating board at all, no privacy.
Positive experience: Clean and tidy, very hot inside. Wave pool was fun. Food is very expensive.
Positive experience: Great aquatic and recreational centre, open early with good facilities. Not many family showers rooms.
Negative experience: Too many students with no focus on individual kids. They do not offer make up or refund on cancellations. There was a policy to provide credit with medical certificate which was wothdrawn without notice to members also enforcing parents to send sick kids passing the love around, to avoid missing out as other is no make up class available either. Assessment takes place towards end of term and Students keep missing out progressing to next level only to come back to a new teacher who does not know what area to focus on and will follow standard routine only. Ripping people off. Not going back.
Fantastic experience: |so Amazing
Fantastic experience: Many thanks to Delbin who went ahead and perform an assessment for my son on his non designated day. despite being busy, she took time and ensure that this could be done there by saving me a whole term . Many thanks and we need more people like her.
Fantastic experience: Amazing place Sometimes does get very busy and they have to allocate some of the 50m lanes to recreational (as in you can do anything in that lane) Sometimes someone does something and the wave pool or the 25m and the LTS pool are closed Waves are very nice I love body surfing on them it feels like I'm going so fast Nice plantlife Good gym facilities (but you need to be 13 to access them) Lots of programs and clubs and stuff you can join Food is overpriced, only get if you have to be there for 3 hours or you are a lifeguard (because u could just go to Maccas) Lockers are paid only now Overall one of the best recreational centres and I reccomend to all people
Fantastic experience: New salt water pools so much easier to breathe and relaxing on the body. So many classes to choose from like water class gym or a casual swim. The outside pool is salt water much better than chlorine no chemicals in the eyes not sore and bloodshot your body feels relaxed and cleansed from the salt water very enjoyable.
Negative experience: Appart from being a hot day and several other pools not completely being understanding of every day humans I do not need Sass off the door person about how poor the service is here and the lack of understanding people struggling to get by financially these days please pull your head in monash have some respect for yourselves
Negative experience: I came to the swimming centre with both my husband and my daughter for a fun day out. I was approached by the lifeguard on duty not to film my family having a wonderful time and had to delete the video due to privacy issues. Even though I explained to them what was going on. The toddler area is always closed due to either high or low chlorine issues. They said they would fix the pump by summer which isn't good enough. All the lanes are always fully booked due to swimming aerobics or swimming lessons. I was advised to use the crowded swimming pool which is 1.5m deep for my daughter who is only 2 years old. Not a safe option and wasn't gonna take the risk of having my daughter drown. Prices are never the same each time . Different workers will charge what they think , which is very unprofessional. Unable to communicate with lifeguards if there's an issue . Only one worker at reception was willing to help out to try and solve the issue. Very nice of her to do
Fantastic experience: The Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre is an essential community asset. It earns high marks for its extensive range of aquatic facilities, including the famous wave pool, and its broad fitness program offering. While busy times can test the capacity of the auxiliary services (parking and change rooms), the sheer variety and quality of the facilities make it an exceptional choice for anyone looking for a comprehensive health, fitness, and recreation venue in the Monash area.
Fantastic experience: Very good for competitive swimmer
Negative experience: Desperately requires refurbishing Monash just doing make shift repairs Cleanliness is very suspect
Positive experience: This is my first time visiting this family water recreation center, and I have to say it has potential. The facility offers ample parking, which is a definite plus, making it convenient for families arriving with multiple vehicles. One of the main attractions here is the wave pool; however, it's important to note there are strict age restrictions in place. Particularly, children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult, so it's essential for families to plan accordingly to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. For those looking for a more traditional swimming experience, there are both indoor and outdoor swimming lanes available, catering to a variety of preferences and skill levels. If you're looking to host a birthday party or a special event for kids, the facility also features a designated party pool, which can add a fun touch to any celebration. One drawback, however, is the entrance fee policy for non-swimming adults. While I understand the management's intent to limit non-revenue generating patrons and control crowd sizes, it feels somewhat unfair to charge adults who are simply supervising their children. I've visited many other aquatic centers where adult supervision doesn’t incur an additional fee, allowing parents to enjoy the facilities without a financial burden. If the center insists on charging entrance fees for adults, I believe it would be reasonable to improve the seating arrangements and provide more comfortable tables and chairs. After all, if parents and accompanying adults are paying to enter, it would be nice to have a decent place to relax while watching the kids enjoy the water, rather than standing around or trying to find a spot on the sidelines. Overall, while the center has a lot to offer, there are certainly areas for improvement that could enhance the experience for families.
Negative experience: They only have 2 family shower rooms, can you imagine with this very big and crowded mostly families, they only provide 2! You need to wait on average 20 to 30 minutes every week to get the shower room.
Negative experience: Visited the pools again with spa pass. Is crowded as usual. Intense chlorine smells most likely un civic minded people emptying g their bladder as usual. My good friend in her 60 caught shingles for the first time after visiting from the pool, steam or sauna or possibly spa. Too crowded with people lack of civic kindness and hygiene and overly use of chlorine in every pool. Hurts the eyes and skins especially in private parts. Be very cautious visiting this place. Especially visitors or members that dont speaks English usually the culprits that breaks all the rules in the pools to steam and saunas. Wearing undies and sweating so badly with no towels on seating. Some even have suspicious rashes and still use the facility. Sometimes people with disability did not have their carer to help empty their bowels and causes feces leaks or toilet accidents into the hydropool, this happens almost every 1.5weeks in average. Sad and disgusted. Switching to ringwood, alot more civilised members there. Fyi alot of the people refused to flush toilet (male/female) after use due to lack of basic hygience and considerations for others. There is only so much the cleaner can keep up with the cleaning.
Fantastic experience: I called the swimming school to ask about express lessons for my child. Peter answered the phone and was so nice and patient. Because my English is not very good, he explained things in different ways until I understood. I felt supported and comfortable through the whole call. Thank you, Peter!
Negative experience: 孩子学游泳,家长跟进去还要交2.5刀….别的游泳馆家长进去都是免费的….差….
Positive experience: I quite like this centre but it’s in need of an urgent major upgrade. It’s very dated and the spa area is always crowded- needs a bigger one to meet demand. General cleanliness could be a lot better too. The cafe prices there is exorbitant with a 2.7% surcharge on credit cards! (highest I’ve ever seen) and don’t forget the extra 10% weekend surcharge. Not the best offerings either so I stay well clear.
Positive experience: Great facilities a shame they do not recognise NZ pension super gold card. $18+ a day is s bit steep even concession card is only $1 a day cheaper..
Negative experience: Today, while enjoying at the spa pool - I witnessed an appalling and openly racist incident at the spa pool involving lifeguard James. His aggressive behavior and inappropriate language toward an elderly man—whose only “violation” was paying for the pool and steam room but not the spa—were unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. He was happy to pay. But he was told to get out. Very bad decision and conduct. This life guard conduct is discriminatory, disrespectful, and inexcusable. Immediate action should be taken to address this behavior and ensure such incidents never occur again.
Fantastic experience: Nice swimming pool for families and kids
Negative experience: What a disaster this Council operated facility is. I have been a member for over 15 years but no more. The sauna & steam rooms were closed for months for new windows and doors, and when completed, the old windows and doors worked better! Then they closed the sauna and steam rooms again to repair the new doors! It’s Faulty Towers on steroids! How could this organisation be so incompetent ! They just don’t care about Members, it’s the Council money they burn! No private operator would ever manage their business like this !
Positive experience: Two serious issues with the after-pool stuff. The steam room had no steam, and the sauna was far from hot enough. Otherwise, the 50 metre pool was excellent.
Fantastic experience: Claudia from Receiption is very nice on customer service. She is very patient to help my wife to active her Aquatic membership. We went there about 10 days ago we have very positive experience with her.
Negative experience: Spa is hardly ever up to temperature - maybe once a week its hot. The sauna and steam room got closed in the peak season of use for nearly 2 months for improvements that didn't improve and actually made things worse. Getting a hot shower after you finish swimming is a hit and miss affair and if you do get a hot shower the water temp fluctuates. The spa also doesn't have enough jets so its often crowded with people waiting to spend a little time in a jet. The only good thing about the place is the staff - usually friendly and helpful. But this place is poorly managed, for a leisure centre its not so leisurely. Cold showers, cool or luke warm spas and leaky low temp saunas don't make for good leisure time. The only thing that keeps me coming is its literally across the road from me, but thinking to maybe drive a bit further to Nunawading for a better experience.
Negative experience: great facilities crowded with bad mannered self centred superior than thou Asians with little or no respect for others - I really wanted to give this more stars because of the awesome staff
Negative experience: I had a number of bad experiences, Most of the glen waverly staff are rude, lack the skills for proffessional communication and have a massive ego. I was harassed by one member of staff who was a duty manager, I was told to leave the gym as I forgot my towel; my complaint was handled and was dismissed. This isn't the only awful experience I've had, there have been many with a group of certain staff members. I can't recommend this gym unfortunately.
Negative experience: Highly disappointed, of the staff are rude, unproffessional and apathetic! completley dissapointed in certain staffs behaviour, problem not solved, Loren is rude; and unprofessional; my complaint have always been dismissed and not handled professionally.
Positive experience: Too much crowded in the steam and sauna room.
Negative experience: Seriously need to expand the steam room and sauna, yesterday it was absolutely packed with people and paid $15.80 to have to stand against the wall inside....not value for money!!!
Negative experience: I thought this place had a sauna. I spent 40mins in a small warm cubicle before getting frustrated and leaving. If you’re under 65, remotely healthy and want to gaslight yourself, be my guest, because youre not getting any benefits in there. Id happily remove this review if they decide to build a sauna, they definitely have enough unused space and the community would really benefit from it. Or just remove it from pricing / marketing. Maybe while this is done, perhaps cull the price tag on the ugly lockers that no one uses because they cost you more than a coffee by the time you’re done. That way they also get rid of all the tripping hazards from everyone’s bags sprawled around! I am actually really glad the staff here didn’t want to let me buy a full membership BEFORE I went in, because the manager was finishing in 5mins LOL
Negative experience: I don’t recommend Minky swim school. It takes too long time to upgrade when the kids reach the higher level. Sometimes it takes a year. The supervisor always has lots of reason to reject your upgrade. However, the swimming lane is very small and short, how could the kids practice 25m? The assessment is too much based on the detail. But what about the swimming speed, what about how long the kids could swim. They don’t care at all. If you complain, they will pretend to make another assessment for you. But it’s not working, because they just don’t want to upgrade you. They can find any reason. I gave the suggestion because my kids also go to the other swim school. Minky let us feel down. It’s not only the money, but the time we spend.
Negative experience: Not enough gym equipments. Clean but very busy
Hi Alona,Thankyou for your feedback about our centre cleanliness, we are sorry to hear about your experience regarding Gym equipment. Please feel free to contact us so we can discuss in greater depth: '[email protected]'
Negative experience: Bad customer service, even the staff at McDonald got much more better service than you guys.
Hi Ruogu, We are sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention as we take feedback like this very seriously. Please feel free to contact us with more information at: '[email protected]'
Negative experience: Paid $15 to use steam room and swim when entered steam room it was barely warm and all users walked out I was left alone called attendant as by this stage it was stone cold when he arrived he said”yeah it’s been playing up for a while now. !” So decided I’d swim in outdoor pool as sunny out but no luck there either it’s closed in winter till 2.30 ?
Fantastic experience: We had our daughters 10th birthday party. Staff were phenomenal, very well organised and all party attendees were kept entertained. I would definitely consider doing it again
Hi Vic!Thank you for your review and great feedback! We're so glad you all had a great time and were able to celebrate your party with us!
Positive experience: Been with this swim school for over 5 years. The range of instructors we have had ranges from okay to excellent depending on your luck. So are the assessors and front desk. But overall, I feel they all share the common goal of ensuring the children learn the skills and attitude needed to be safe around water. My second child is particularly small and is the weakest in her class level being very young compared to the others and you can see the instuctor always has an eye on her. I really appreciate the effort by the team to ensure she is safe and enjoying her lesson, but still challenging her. Thank you
Thank you for your review E&R C!Our team do appreciate the positive feedback, and we are happy to hear that your kids' lessons are going great!
Negative experience: This review is for learn to swim (Minky) school - This place is totally useless. They just don't know how to teach. Most of the time instructions are chatting or gossiping with kids. They don't really focus on the areas in which individual kid needs improvement, and keep repeating general stuff. When it's time for assessment, they expect kids to be Olympics championship. I meticulously noticed that one area that they assessed my kids on, they taught him only once in the whole term. The centre is really nice and the lifeguards are caring and attentive.
Hi Anuj,We are sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention as we take feedback like this very seriously. Please feel free to contact us with more information at: '[email protected]' so we can discuss further.
Negative experience: My kid join the learn to swim program at Glen Waverley. The instructor is good. My kid has learned everything for this term. From last six weeks we are trying to get my kid accessed but so far they will just keep making excuses. The fees is either direct debit for the term or pay for whole term in advance. Now we are struck with it. I would not recommend this place if your kid is quick learner.
Fantastic experience: Good local council centre with all facilities, possibly better parking options as can get busy on school days Shocking as it's over 2+ weeks to fix a tap , the sign says shower first, but the staff at reception think it's not a problem
Negative experience: I love the pool but when I was changing the door is normally unlocked even though it shows the door is locked. I feel really awkward changing there because it could be shown as locked but no one is inside. I feel violated.
Negative experience: Ridiculous! Only 2 shower rooms for families. Convert one change room into with shower room. Families are waiting for hours to get a shower room. Notwithstanding that upgrade this pool by the money you collect from us. Go and see Knox Leisure works in Boronia. What a facility for the community!.
Negative experience: Signed up for adult swim class 1 week ago after being assessed by one of their instructors. Rocked up today for class for the 1st time. Instructor was fine but customer service at reception and the floor supervisor on duty on 30/5 at 630pm (woman with pink bib) super unhelpful. Asked nicely how to use locker located on the deck behind her as it’s my first time ever here to swim but was told “the lifeguard would know how to do this just ask them”……. There was two lifeguards keeping watch of people swimming. One would think a lifeguards job is to keep people safe not how to use a locker. Coupled with long wait times for shower rooms, super tight areas to swim and overall lacklustre experience with facility and customer service, I have canceled membership. Hoping they actually cancel my direct debit after reviewing other reviews!
Negative experience: It is very evident that you do not take duty of care very seriously. As a regular and loyal member to your Glen Waverley location, on multiple visits I have been exposed to the cold temperatures of the cool air that has been let into the surroundings of the indoor pools by the contractors that are working for you. They have been leaving the large windows and doors wide open at 6am and it is your highest level of responsibility to ensure that does not keep happening. I have had to keep asking the life guards and duty managers each time to have the doors/windows closed every morning and the last session I was there, it took them at least half an hour before they had gotten the doors/windows closed which were closed but not fully shut. I have been injured on multiple occasions and have gotten the flu 4 times over the past 2 months due to this reoccurring issue and have been having to take unnecessary medication and additional time off work to help recover. I have been told that the temperature of the pools have been 31 degrees but it honestly feels like it is 24 degrees when I jump inside. There is a reason why I cannot swim outdoors, I do not cope very well to the cold weather and I fall ill very easily. I have had no issues prior, only since your contractors started working for you late Autumn of this year. I just started back training this Monday and had gotten sick yet again Tuesday night and worse on Wednesday. I have left feedback on your website and spoke to a manager at your Monash Aquatic Centre but yet I have not heard any response or empathy to my situation whatsoever.
Negative experience: Facility is not well-maintained especially hydrotherapy toilet, steam rooms and sauna.
Negative experience: Very disappointed with swim lessons. Most of the time, Instructor get about 5mins. Late to start the lesson and finishes about 5 mins. early. Keep student in the same level for longer time.
Negative experience: EDIT: Kirsten (a manager) has called us. She was very lovely and seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say. It remains to be seen if the aquatic center can improve its communication, but I am grateful to have had a response after so long. We started with Josh as our instructor… lovely amazing and very wonderful! Then he left and we’ve had five different instructors in 12 months. All the new teachers take things back to the beginning because they don’t know the kids and their experience levels. Now four of the six pools are shut and have been for over a month (no email to parents; despite the term email being the perfect place to do so if they didn’t want to send a seperate email). And the last three weeks of lessons cancelled 10 minutes before start time. Whilst we understand accidents in the pool are unpredictable, the tremendous lack of communication is mind blowing. Further, if we miss a lesson (due to sickness, trip etc more than once in a term) we have to pay even though we didn’t come (and even if we give them weeks or months notice). However they can cancel a class last minute and there’s no compensation and barely even an apology. We have sent multiple emails to the center and to council (as it’s a council ran facility); we have spoken to multiple managers; we have called and cannot get a meaningful apology or improved communication. They did give us some credits but when the pool is shut how are we supposed to use them? Further, they ran an emergency evacuation drill (didn’t tell parents what was happening) and lost our four year old! I had to go find her and when I did there was no apology. I sent an email and got excuses from management. If we could give them 0 stars.. we would. This is not the place to do swimming lessons if you actually want consistent lessons and improved swimming ability from your children.
Negative experience: Good facility but very poor management, everywhere is so crowded and there is no supervision on the amount of people get into the place, many people get in without even buying a ticket! Have been a member for almost a year and I can tell it’s just getting worse and worse. There is no time limit for the spa or sauna so people keep staying there for hours and others don’t get a chance to use it because it’s packed.
Positive experience: Came here today for a birthday party which all the children seem to enjoy but as for when it was time to leave, we got told by a moody person who obviously didn’t want to be there, that we had to start packing up 15 mins early although it was booked until 2.45. Yeh I admit some kids were a little late arriving but we don’t appreciate them rushing us out regardless of the situation. Not a very positive experience at all
Positive experience: Everything is good except family showers not in good condition
Negative experience: Closed on public holiday, even though it says open on the website and entrance area.
Negative experience: Very disappointed went for swim here only to have 1 lane of outside pool to swim in overcrowded with people whilst other lanes had a few swimmers doing laps NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!
Fantastic experience: Fun on a hot day. The outdoor pool is better on crowded days as the inside is often packed
Negative experience: They operate like a big company with very little attention to individual kids needs. They can get away with this due to the high demand. Your child gets put into a lane and with a teacher who may be right for them or not but its very hard to change that. And if you can find a carspace after 5pm you are doing very well.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facilities, friendly staff and well run. Again the food is expensive for a family venue, but they don't stop you bringing your own stuff. so be prepared.
Negative experience: Staff are happy to take your money to enter and once you’re inside you’ll quickly find that most of the pools and areas you came for are off limits. Tried using the wave pool in just in the shallows and was told rudely that its only for private groups. If you’re trying to get your child used to the water there are many better places with attentive and professional staff. What a disappointing experience.
Negative experience: At approximately 4:30 pm on Monday 26 Feb 2024, the 25 metre pool was closed because someone pooed inside. After 5 pm, the pool was reopened because they had put some chemicals inside the pool. Are they supposed to change the water? Like you do at home, after you poop, you flush the toilet instead of putting some chemicals and let it stew, right? Yuck, I will never swim in that pool again! The door for members were closed. The wait line for shower in the Women’s change room is 10 metres long because all the shower rooms are occupied. No one can come out in 2 minutes as the sign suggested as the water is not as even as strong as my toddler’s pee. The outdoor pool is so dirty and it has accumulated so much leaves at the bottom of the pool, and when you swim the leaves will stick on your face. Both the 25 metre pool and outdoor pool were occupied with groups of people training. There were only two lanes (slow and medium) left for the public. Some Monday afternoons, there were only one slow lane left for the public, while some lanes were occupied for bookings with only two people taking up the whole lane! There is a sign at the exit “We hope you enjoyed your visit”. Other than all these above, I have enjoyed my visit!
Fantastic experience: My kids love the wave pool. Very friendly staff.
Negative experience: Extremely bad experience with my both kids. They keep kids each level minimum for 1 year!!! Unbelievable experience
Negative experience: it was ok but these one lifeguard was very rude to my daughter i was watching her in the wave pool and she was a bit far but i could still see her and then i tried to take a picture with just my daughter swimming then he saw my daughter then gave her a mean look and told her to come closer to me she didn’t have fun at after he meanly told her off and she knows how to swim very good they need to get nicer lifeguards don’t go here
Negative experience: Just 2 family change/shower rooms in this big swim center. What a planning! Waiting outside of these rooms is nothing but horrible with congested way and others taking this way to move around. Advised to knock the doors if 15 mins crossed!! Car parking though big still not sufficient.
Negative experience: They have good infrastructure but if you are looking for teaching swimming to kids this is probably not the right place. I made the mistake of enrolling my daughter here Glen Waverley but when we arrived from the lesson we were told that we are booked for Clayton branch. Somehow we managed to find a slot at the right facility but the instructor was very new and my daughter didnt enjoy the session. We ended up moving elsewhere.
Positive experience: Disappointed. No, very disappointed. Brought our grandson here for a special day out. Got here about 11.15am. Just as well we did not tell him about the waves. Waves only happen between 10 and 11am and then not again until 4.15pm. What's the point of having this facility if it's not in operation? Very clean and well maintained facility. Friendly staff. Coffee took ages to be made.
Fantastic experience: The wave pool is unique. Many different sized pools for various ages. Well kept.
Negative experience: Very disappointed with Minky swimming school as they are short of staff, they don't do kids assessments if the next level slots are not available. It is very unfair for the kids.
Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend becoming a member here! The fitness classes are amazing, the staff and trainers are all very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are amazing.
Negative experience: noy enough lifeguards on a public holiday, end up closing half the pool including the attraction wave pool ad peak hour. what a joke.
Positive experience: Friendly staff and lovely outdoor pool but can be busy at peak times. Make sure you look out for lap lane availability. Outdoor pool black lines practically non existent in middle lanes.
Fantastic experience: We had a birthday party and it was very well organised. Staff are super friendly and the wave pool is awesome fun for everyone.
Fantastic experience: Always a great experience swimming at this pool. The team that run the centre are fabulous, from the customer service team at the front desk to the lifeguards that work in pool deck everyone is welcoming and friendly. The culture this creates contributes to making this a great place to swim.
Fantastic experience: Love the wave pool, friendly staff
Fantastic experience: The teachers here are very patient and very good with the kids.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful facility, staff friendly, helpful and supportive, coffee at the Café excellent!
Fantastic experience: Monash Aquatic has great facilities, it has a hydrotherapy pool which is wheelchair accessible, a wave pool, an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. The cafe serves lovely food and coffee.
Positive experience: Been going here for a while the spa is to small and always overcrowded not enough jets in it steam room is small also hydro pool is good large only negative comment is a few older men who use the hydro pool are always glaring at all the women who use it makes people feel uncomfortable and a couple of them are very rude like this is our pool not yours disappointing
Positive experience: Staff are nice, friendly, and helpful. The facilities are good and clean. It is a very good public pool, fitness, and recreation centre
Negative experience: Poor hygiene standards maintained, $2 spectator fee charged is an absolute ripper. Monash council high time renovate this place, why do we need plants at the swimming pool?
Fantastic experience: Fantastic facility. The pools are great and the gym - it has all new gear, the main room is mid sized and non showy
Negative experience: Had a decent swim, however I was attacked by a gang of old people for not having a towel in the sauna, and the mens change room i went into (not sure if theres more than one) had shared showers. i dont even think the army has shared showers anymore
Negative experience: Want to enrol our child for swimming classes. Their website is disgraceful, shows spots left, however when we try to enrol, says no spots left. Tried calling the centre, the staff is as good as the website, very unhelpful.
Fantastic experience: Great location for a leisurely swim. Facilities are quite spacious and staff are friendly. Has indoor and outdoor pools and especially wonderful to visit on weekdays when it isn’t too crowded. Definitely worth a visit!
Fantastic experience: Its a very nice place to be.. the pools are well maintained, staff is friendly and cafe is good too. Wave pool is nice, all indoor pools are temperature controlled and therefore, can be used in winters too.
Fantastic experience: Came to this place for swimming lessons, this place was awesome. It had a wave pool, outdoor area and a kids ply area. The swimming lessons were fun and energetic and the staff was extremely respectful.
Negative experience: Bad experience with their management team. The story is we could not make a class and we called them in advance, try to get credit in the membership that our family could use the credit later on. They refused to give credit and asked for doctor certificate(we are not sick, just could not make the time, and we had such issue before, they did not have any problems that issuing the credit). So we want to cancel the whole classes, and we asked them to help to cancel the course, they refused to do it for us again and asked us to go to website and fill in cancellation forms and wait for the team memeber to call us back. What hell is this process! It is such a bad experience that I had and I am not going to walk in this centre or book any classes any more. For customer's perspective, you are service team, you are able to support customer or explain better why or how could us resolve the issue instead of telling you "NO" for everything. And what happen if I am too old to do the online process, does that mean I never be able to cancel my class??? Such a ridiculous process in modern live now.
Negative experience: great facilities but don't rely on the website schedule as there is not guarantee the wave pool will be in use. Swim School and/or school bookings are prioritised over patrons.
Negative experience: Cons - No cubicles in changing rooms, just open showers and changing area with old men swinging their bits about. A bit disgusting not to have cubicles to shower and change in. The Jacuzzi is pathetic. A big space for it but they've put 4 jets all in 1 corner and you can never get on it. When you do you're left with the 2 that you can barely feel. The steam and sauna rooms are meant to be a quiet place to relax but always certain people speaking loud in their own language. No respect for others. Most people don't bring towels to sit on either. The hydro pool is full of old people in the morning standing in groups having a good old chat leaving no room for people that actually go there for a reason. The gym is small and tight area. If it's busy then you might as well walk out because you won't get on any machines. The row machine (with weights not cardio row) is part of the lat pull down machine so if someone's doing lat pull downs then forget the rows. There's pros and cons for the pool. Pro is you can generally get in a lane for a swim and it is nice and warm. Con is during the holidays people who can't read English let their little kids in to the slow, medium and fast lanes to mess about and the life guards don't bother to do anything about it. Also during the day there's only 3 lanes a lot of the day because of group and private classes meaning sometimes there's 4 people to a lane which is a nightmare. The general area is a mess. Bags everywhere and no members lockers by the pool which is ridiculous. Half of this stuff is common sense. This place could be so much better! They're also now pushing their pride rubbish and rainbow flag on to everyone and the kids. We don't need this pushed in our faces every day. We go to the centre for sports. What people do in their own lives or who they like is their own private business. It's 2023 not 1950 when it wasn't accepted. 1* because the staff seem friendly.
Negative experience: Cleaning practices are very slack - Male change room regularly has a dirty floor and unhygienic ingrained green mold on floor of shower room which could easily be removed by high pressure hose. Staff at counter are often confused by simple requests and missing in action at busy times leading to long queues and delays at getting in.
Positive experience: Attended centre today for Hydrotherapy. Great facilities. Canteen was disappointing purchased salad sandwich $10.50(Not Fresh) Purchased latte. 50% of the contents was froth. Having managed two canteens over the years. These products were below standard. Will not purchase from canteen again
Negative experience: Nice pool, but rather poor service and management. Two of our kids signed up for their swimming lessons, but one of card was long-term invalid. During the epidemic, because the child was sick and couldn't go to class, they converted the class into a family pass according to their policy, which we have not used, a total of four times. We had to stop classes a month ago because we changed jobs. I took my child there today, and they said that there is only one family pass in the system.Awful!
Negative experience: Be aware! they continue to charge your money after termination, gave them writing notice of 14 days prior to termination as request. but they still charge me fees after 1 month of termination. if you stop using their service, you will have to check your bank account everyday, just avoid they steal money off you. Have asked multiple times for a refund, no response at all, and was told by reception "they are not in charge of refund and can do nothing". Worst service at all.
Negative experience: We have been coming to the pools for the last 12 years at least. since 2022 we have noticed a drop in the care factor and the quality of service. Yet the price has gone up which is ok however it should match quality of the service. Our kids are about finish the program but struggling to get that added help to push through. We have approached the staff but it appears they are bound by bureaucracy and failing to even listen to our concerns. We just want our kids to finish the course and get out of here. We were sent an email last week saying one of our kids had successfully finished the assessment but no one knew who. Eventually we found out today it was an error. Last week the swimming pool was shut down and training was conducted in the wave pool. week before that classes were completely cancelled - no explanation whatsoever. There is no one higher up who has any time for us to at least sit down and have a chat with us. Now I am beginning to feel its all about $$$$$$$
Fantastic experience: Good pool. Has a 50m outdoor, 25m indoor, wave pool and a few others. Has a gym on top as well. What more could you ask for?
Fantastic experience: The best place to be on a scorching day. So much fun in the wave pool.
Fantastic experience: Attended this place for the Metro East District championship swimming meet. Equipped with 50m outdoor pool, this is one of the best local pool to have a race, practice or even just have fun. The outdoor pool is heated to the right temperature, so you won't feel the chill on the freezing Autumn or Winter morning. There is also an indoor pool for the one that prefer much warmer temperature but when you came out you will feel the chill.
Positive experience: 50 meter size pool with a separate wave pool. Has an outdoor pool and smaller one for baby to 3 year olds. Good for lessons if you get the right teacher. The change rooms with showers take a long time to get fixed if something breaks and certain people (culture) buzz the rooms and bring their kids later which is against the rules.
