Negative experience: The pool lifeguards are completely useless. I was attending a one hour hydrotherapy appt today the rope was up but kids kept diving and jumping in despite physio asking them not to. The lifeguards Attending observed all this but DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT. So only had half of my allotted hydro time due to interruptions.

Fantastic experience: This seems to be the best swimming pool near the city. There are plenty of lifeguards, and they were all very friendly. I appreciated the large area for children to swim, and the facilities were clean and well-maintained. The pool is easily accessible from the city, making it a perfect spot to visit for a swim during your trip. Since all the pools are indoors, it's especially useful during transitional weather like we have now.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic 50m pool in the middle of the city. Nice and clean and not too busy. Lanes are nicely separated into slow, medium and fast. Locker rooms are clean. Rental lockers are available, A$2 for a small one, A$3 for a big one. Tokens can be bought at the front desk. One time entry price was A$8.

Positive experience: Good place to visit when the sea conditions are not the best for the outdoor swim. Casual entry fee is $8.80 . We used 50 metre pool, water was cool, refreshing but good for laps swimming. It was Sunday lunch time so not many people around which was perfect for us. There is also hydrotherapy, kids pool with slide, rapid river and wave pool but we haven’t tried on this occasion. Change rooms were ok, reasonably clean considering that it is a public facility and cleanness depends lot of times on the visitors. There are lockers but they operate on coins. That is something that can be upgraded as I don’t think that many people carry around coins these days. I certainly don’t. We had our belongings with us on the poolside seats as most of the people. At the reception they have some basics like goggles, swim caps etc just in case you forgot at home

Positive experience: After COVID, the opening hours are terrible. The Centre closes at 8 pm (it used to be 10pm) and the gym closes at 4 pm on weekends.

Positive experience: Everything is fine except the soap dispenser hardly ever get refilled in the shower room without having to request it to be done. Often almost every single soap dispenser is left completely empty for days or even weeks. Not acceptable. Reply: I don’t see the point to email you - why don’t you check the two soap dispensers in the female shower cubicles with doors (in the middle) next to the adult pool. Despite my previous Google review above, they still haven't been refilled and are currently full of water instead of soap. And it has been like that for at least a month.

Positive experience: Nice to have in the city. Very cold water. Can get very busy quickly. Hydrotherapy pool also not very warm. Communal showers with no temp control.

Negative experience: APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE! I was also told that I need a medical certificate to get a credit for a class that I could not attend despite the courtesy of calling in advance to inform them. Also, the swimming class conducted by Axel was abysmal. He was a poor communicator; arrived 10 mins late and showed complete disinterest for his only two students.
Fantastic experience: Really nice swimming and wave pool for everyone! Wonderful staff and very inclusive vibe for the LGBTQI+, non binary and gender non conforming members of society. A great place for everyone to have a swim!

Negative experience: I chose this pool to enroll swimming class for my child because of its so called 50m heated indoor pool for all year round swimming, unfortunately, the water temperature in winter is extremely unbearable, like totally unheated. I’d suggest the pool manger to check on this and displays the current water temperature everyday to show people what is your standard for heated pool. Thanks.

Positive experience: Be forewarned: The water in the big pool is quite cold! Took me a while to get used to. It is more of a public gym (with a soccer field, weights and group classes) than of a swimming pool so I found a AU$ 8.5 not worth the facilities. The upside is that they have a lot of lanes so you don’t need to share a lane with too many ppl.

Positive experience: Great city pool. Only thing to complain about is the lockers only take coins. Having an eftpos facility built in would be definitely needed. Also lift signage not the greatest and signs saying it's our of action which is definitely not the case need to be removed

Fantastic experience: 호주에 있을 때 수영장 가보고 싶었는데, 같이 갈 친구가 수영을 못 해서 이곳에 파도풀이 있다고 해서 찾아왔습니다. 아쉽게 파도풀은 운영을 안했고, 맨 끝에 splash lane?에서 재밌게 놀았습니다. 수영 레인은 50m 길이고, 갈수록 깊어지는 구조이고, 젤 깊은 곳은 2m 정도 됩니다. 샤워실은 칸막이 있는 사워기 4, 칸막이 없는 샤워기 4 정도 해서 씻을 수 있는 공간 있었고, 드라이기도 있었습니다. 다만 수건, 샤워용품, 로션은 각자 챙겨 오셔야 하고, 짐은 수영장 내 의자? 계단?에 놓으셔도 됩니다 유아풀도 있어서 아기랑 같이 가도 좋을 것 같아요.

Fantastic experience: Really love this place! I am a tourist in Sidney, but I have already been here three times in two weeks. It's location makes you feel you swim in the open air, which is fantastic for bad weather days, when you can't go to the beach. The lines are organized, everything is clean, the temperature is right and the lifeguards always circling around, just in case.

Positive experience: Great pool! The big one is a bit dirty at the bottom, but nothing that can’t be fixed. The change rooms are really dirty, as it has toilet paper everywhere, and the showers are full of hair. On the positive side, the therapy and baby pool are great and pretty clean. Moving on to the lessons, it really depends on what teacher you get, because their are good ones, and bad ones. I recommend this pool to anyone interested

Negative experience: Nothing with the place, it is ok. Just be careful with 360 membership, they are a completly scam. Charge you extra payments at any time and they do not care at all about the costumers. Do not try it.

Positive experience: Clean pools, have kids area and wave simulation pool. Temp a bit lower than other indoor pool. CON: lanes are busy and booked. Other facilities: Gym is standard and a bit small, one standard full court available to book.

Negative experience: Hygine and cleanliness of the pool is disgusting. Swimmers spitting and blowing their nose in the pool. This is the second time I’ve reported this disgusting behaviour and it’s the second time staff have just ignored or brushed off my complaint.

Negative experience: I had fallen ill. I family member had to attend the venue to get the link and technically cancel membership or however the procedure was. Upon arrival staff were probably busy because as usual the answer changes depending on who's on desk, and how much time they have. And they were advised the account had already been paused as per holidays, and that there was no link to cancel. Knowing this not to be the case the question was asked again,and the same answer was given!! Upon returning from hospital the bill was higher naturally as it wasn't cancelled! Now I appealed this to the manager who understood. I also stated that even thou no one attended the pool I understand that something has to be paid as per policy. But efforts had been made including an email sent to cancel and to no avail. The manager stated he understood , discounted overall price, and stated after the price was paid that HE WOULD Call the debt collectors ; Arma group. To cancel the debt harrassment aswell. Provided I made immediate payment. Conversation took place in the afternoon same afternoon, and on the same day I went to the pool to pay. Only to be told by the lady at reception they she was busy doing the till (TRUE STORY) another staff member attended and told me to come back the next day,I explained I was unwell to do so he said he couldn't assist. Gave me a note pad to leave a msg for the manager ( never reached the manager). The next day in great pain, I arrived and was met with a staff member who suggested that payment could not be made at the pool. And took details down. Now the card worked in every store everyday and is still working . However did not work on the debit success link or automatically but only in person or over the phone (later advised by debit success it happens with the server on some cards ) however the staff member stated in person and in email that I was the only person with a problem. I ignored the insults because at the end of the day the card has funding and debit success explained these occurrences are not new! I managed to pay an amount with debit success over the phone,bit they did not let me pay the bigger amount discussed with Stephen , bring unaware of the arrangement. And depending on who attends the phone sometimes they can state paying over the phone doesn't exist. Patiently, I even had them on the phone whilst I tried the same card at a store and it worked, and explained my need to pay over phone as per larger arrangement. They informed of a call back that never happened. I often called twice a week begging to pay. I'm sure their cells are recorded. Anyways months passed naturally I made my 8th visit to the pool , Stephen was not there on each visit or staff did not want to call him. Nor let me pay in person again depending on who was asked. Another manager came out , and let me pay to cancel in person but did not allow me to pay the full amount on the arranged debt. And stated nothing was left to be paid. I then received more passive aggressive emails stating I was to still pay Arma regardless and they had record of any pay. I have kept all emails as proof of the stress they have put me and my family through, and wish that I had never thought of taking my child / registering at a place where answers change depending on the age/ experience or how busy staff are, or their mood. Managers don't support each other , nor does debit success communicate effectively with the pool. Problem unresolved. Daily threats from Arma and emails from the pool suggesting conversations never took place.

Negative experience: I am currently an active member of the center. And I am very disappointed at your customer service especially the front desk. I called Phillip & Cook Pool Park this morning and wanted to enrol in a PRI4 swimming class. The staff was rude and direct and hang up the phone in the middle of our conversation while I was asking about the duration of the course and the fees. She seems to be annoyed when I was asking about other information and advised just come to the center for more information and rushed to finish the call. At least let me know if I can call back you can't just hang up on someone like that. Literally zero respect. Would rather spend money somewhere else.

Positive experience: Great place to have a dip even when it is gray. There is a 50m pool for lap swimming and a play area for kids. Change rooms are quite spacious and well equipped. Very easy to get in a quick swim before work if you work at the cbd

Negative experience: I have been going to the pool and exercise classes off and on since it opened. This place used to be great but now feels unhygienic. The grout in the showers has black dots all over it. The last time I went for a swim the wave pool was shut due to a code brown (poo in the pool) and we were not told this when paying our entry fee. After about 40mins or so the wave pool opened and was shut down 10 mins later due to another code brown. Nappy policy needed! Edit in reply to the below message from pool management - I spoke to the front desk twice while I was there about this so hopefully they passed the feedback on.

Fantastic experience: OMG, this is such a terrific pool and facility. Well kept, beautiful 50m pool, fun "lazy river" kids and family play pool and large, heated therapeutic with tons of jets pool. Great swim shop at checkin. Good prices on gear. Nice gym, outdoor space and cafe. Lots of hours - easy to get to. Lots of great art and food/cafes nearby.

Fantastic experience: Love this place for laps (especially while pregnant) easily accessible and around $8 for a casual session. The sun shines in and hoping it will be warm in winter. It’s really clean and there are kids pools and thermal pools as well.

Negative experience: They should install a few huge led display digital clock to be visible while in the pool, from the hydrotherapy section and other sections, instead of keeping those old kitchen clock around that no one can see the time. They should clean the change rooms e after business hours (as in any other gym in the city) and not during the day, keeping them closed for 30 mins while people left their own belongings inside and need to have a shower.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I was disgusted with my experience at the venue. After more than a decade in Australia, this is one of the few handful venues were I felt strong biases towards my ethnicity. Staff was rude and shouted at me "Move!" "I told you to..." "You have to" "when I whistle you have to right away" and many other sentences on different occasions and on different days. I don't recall anyone having such a condescending behaviour towards me as an adult and what made it worse, the same behaviour was not generally given to others although others also found it rude. When I asked for a complaint form at the entrance and shared my experience I had to further hear "we all have an accent" (in 2023), and I had to point out that "not everyone has a foreign accent". However, staff was helpful to redirect me to the right form and share information. Reading other low scores reviews referring to internationals and staff behaviour made me thinking my case is not isolated.

Positive experience: The pool is clean,the staff are warm and very helpful and it is always a joy to go for a dip. The changing rooms and toilets could do with a little more maintenance but are pretty much par for the course when it comes to public facilities and not a major issue. The overall infrastructure does seem dated especially when you go in on rainy days and see baskets placed ' strategically' to catch leaks! Overall though in my limited experience of public pools in Sydney, CPP is really good. They make sure all types of swimmers have somewhere/ something to do at any time of the day.

Fantastic experience: The pool itself was clean and well-maintained, with a range of lanes for different skill levels. The changing rooms were also clean and well-stocked. I especially appreciated the outdoor seating area, where I could relax and enjoy the sun after my swim. The only downside was that it was a bit busy during my visit, but that's to be expected at a popular spot like this. Overall, Overall, a great experience and I'll definitely be back!

Fantastic experience: Very clean facilities. Lovely staff, and super LGBTIQA friendly. The Aqua Aerobics class is really fun, and the gym is well equipped for various types of training. The wave pool is great, but not very deep.

Negative experience: The female gym showers have no doors! Not everyone is comfortable showering in public. Please fix this!!
Negative experience: Disaster. During lockdown they sent me an email saying they would not debit my account any longer unless I requested to be opted in again, which I never did. Since then, and still 2 months after lockdown, I'm still being debited and they won't return my money.

Negative experience: I do not recommend this place . Management and staffs are very unsure of what they’re doing . Anne the person in charge of kids swimming class is extremely judgemental and stereotype all autistic people as one . Very bad experience Update : My son is doing great in a group class in uni sydney pool . They’ve been very kind and non judgemental. Negative experience: The facilities are good but the management of the centre is very unprofessional and disorganised. Upon my mother's passing I had to go overseas , while I was gone my card started to decline my membership fees. As soon as I found out I went into the centre to settle the account in full and I was told the account needed to be reconciled and to send an email before doing any payment. After said email was sent, it took several weeks, many calls and more emails to get a response. In the response the failed to address if the account had been reconciled. After nearly two months of following up and back and forth emailing mentioning I am ready to pay in full and that need a reply asap, they finally confirmed the reconciled amount. When trying to pay for it, the system wouldn't let, because the account had been sent into collection while I was communicating with them. Upon checking with the debit company they advised they were given approval by cook and Phillip Centre to send said account into collection despite I was in contact with said team to make said payment. For lack of better words, truly ridiculous and beyond unprofessional experience.

Negative experience: Felt racially profiled today our family walked in with another gentleman and his son, front desk stopped my husband and said he would need a mask to enter, fair enough happy to comply however she allowed the gentleman with his son to enter without a mask. When we questioned her about the gentleman she just let in she proceeded to say he had a mask on, which he wasn’t because we literally walked in together and we had seen he wasn’t wearing one. Very disappointing.

Positive experience: We come here for lessons for my son, everything was going great until they started to cancel his lessons literally two days before as they didn’t have the staff. This went on probably for about 3 months. Seems to have improved but we shall see. Btw if you have to cancel be aware that they may still take your money . The irony is there’s no questions when they suddenly cancel on you.

Positive experience: Great pool but it’s a sauna inside. Have to wear mask constantly but no AC. It’s impossible to stay more than 30mins inside. They should be more considerate about this hot weather and the fact that we have to wear the masks.

Positive experience: Been here since opening more than 20 yrs ago. Does the wave pool still work? The lighting has improved. Over the years, there were improvements. The shower soap dispensers are empty more often than logical. Understand it's impossible to please everybody. Grateful for the hot water, But the shower temp is too hot. Does it cost alot to change the diverters rather than waste money on higher hot water consumption? If you have time, take a look at the water fountain facing the indoor 50m pool. There's a hole in the wall - for years! Thank you, Sydney city for this facility. I wish the management could be a wee bit better.

Positive experience: Hidden underground this pool and gym complex is difficult to find for first timers (so give yourself 5 mins). 461x bus stops out the front. The modernist concrete bunker fails to rival the magnificent Siedler ITAC, but contains extensive facilities. Water in the Olympic pool is at Olympic temperatures, and sadly (chillyly?) so is the adjacent kids pool - really too cold for winter. Currently the wave machine etc don’t work - staff cite Covid, although this makes no sense.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic gym and pools centre in middle of Sydney. There are 3 pools there, one Olympic sized one, hydro pool and kids pool. All very clean and great to swim in. There's a gym and several exercise rooms. An indoor sports court and an outside gym as well. Really nice space and great place for everyone. Very reasonable entry and membership fees. Best fitness centre in Sydney CBD and best value. This place is super clean and really well looked after. The signs have recently been updated and it's more accessible.

Fantastic experience: I have always known where Cook & Phillip was, but hadn’t actually been inside. I have been using the pool and the gym for a short while now, and I’m loving it. What really makes it for me are the staff, in particular Victoria. She is a lifeguard. She absolutely radiates a lovely vibe , always has a smile and has made me feel so welcome. I hope her management team recognise her hard work, by sponsoring her to stay in the country. Don’t send her home.
Fantastic experience: BEST POOL AND GYM IN SYDNEY!!! Amazing hospitality and service from the lifeguards, watching them survey the pool with such care and compassion is so inspiring! I had an amazing conversation with a lifeguard named Alexis; needless to say, she was absolutely wonderful! Make sure you treat your lifeguards with respect guys!!!!
Fantastic experience: Great pool and amenities. It can get busy but the swimming lanes never feel too overcrowded. The kids area can get a bit crazy busy though.

Positive experience: Had a confused time getting to the main entrance
Positive experience: Half lane only, not sure why they lock the rest, I have never seen anyone using the leftovers of the lane.
Positive experience: Smallish weight room, a few std pieces missing, and some duplication, needs a reassessment of inventory. Wot? No pec deck? Clean, gear in good condition. View of the basketball court.
Negative experience: Falsely advertise a 50m pool when it is only 25m. Also charge 360 card holders 8 dollars extra because it is an indoor pool.
Positive experience: Nice pool but no spa pool which would have been nice after hiking all day great for lap swimming though and decent hot showers too

Negative experience: The kids swimming lessons are absolutely rubbish. The instructors are great but they pack 5 kids in a lesson. You have kids literally falling off and kicking each other.
Negative experience: Avoid cook and phillip park pool at all cost. My partner opened account for out 2 kids and had kids active vouchers turned into credit last year. They never got tested nor gone to cook and phillip ever but they charged my partner account up till now. It’s been half year since then. We called them many times. Always avoided us with call back later and manager in meeting. They never got back to us even after contacting them repeatedly for a week. Horrible. I would give 0 star if I can. Shame on u.

Negative experience: After calling 7 times (nobody ever answered) I took my baby (an hours drive) to the pool only to find the times of the hydrotherapy pool had changed from website!!! Arrggghh. So after waiting 45mins I got my baby changed ready for his first swim. Came out 10 minutes later to find a line up (no indication this was to occur). After waiting beside the hydro pool the whole time we discovered a limitation of 14ppl thus excluded from entry despite being there the whole time.So after all this couldn’t even enter until someone left the pool, despite doing everything to prevent this. Answer the phone, communicate and put up signage guys. Disgraceful. Won’t be back.

Positive experience: I've been to Cook and Phillip Pool a number of times recently and they've divided the pool in half due to Covid. What is frustrating though is that the bottom half of the pool was busy and I was told we couldn't use the top half despite it being completely empty. I appreciate it is set aside at times for squad training but there have been many times that I've been there and the top half of the pool is empty for hours. As there were 2 lifeguards on duty there was more than enough eyes for both sections of the pool to be used. Can we please have the top half available as during Covid it's better we have more space to swim in than less (i.e. less people per lane).

Negative experience: Just like other reviews, the pool is cut in half with only one side open. For the whole 60 mins we were there the other side was totally empty despite it being ‘reserved’ for squads. How management can with a straight face charge full price when they have closed half the pool is beyond me. Even worse, I can’t see how they can claim responsible social distancing practice by jamming everyone into one side. Just so lazy.
Negative experience: I think when you go to the pool it’s clear the management just don’t really care. Little things are just missing or overlooked. Why is there only hand soap in he showers? Why are the lockers only using coins? Why don’t they warn you when you purchase a guest pass you need a coin for the lockers. Why is there no proper filtered water to fill up water bottles? Seriously basic stuff is missing.

Negative experience: I have done Adult Swim Classes with the Aquatic Centre in College Street., Sydney. I will not recommend adult classes with this school, firstly the teachers change very regularly and every new teacher contradicts the last one, so you never really move forward. The reason for this review and for me cancelling my membership and classes is that my last teacher was unable to manage her time with 3 students in the group class, I watched the clock each time she spent time with me and it was less than 3 minutes from a 30 minute class, and it was just BS to be honest, it was not very constructive in anyway. It has happened twice and I am not interested in wasting my money on such a poor program. I do not recommend this school for Adult Lessons, have persisted for almost a year and now I am fed up and will search for someone that can actually teach me how to swim, and a program that take the care and interest to develop their students. A positive thing about the place is the friendly staff at the front desk who are always helpful.

Negative experience: The 50 m pool is good. They have dramatically increased their covid security. The seated out door area CLOSED. 50 m pool halved with boom. This half pool is bemusing the water is the same water for the whole pool. I'm all for taking measures but this is ridiculous. Seated areas are open everywhere else. Ha ha. Very good facilities, friendly, welcoming staff, a generally positive vibe amongst the regular clientele, and of course an excellent location. I simply wish I had been aware of its existence sooner (it is very discreetly integrated into its environment).
